Every week, GameSpot Universe covers what's big in film, television, and a whole lot more, but there is so much going on in the world of entertainment that you may have missed something. Don't worry, we've got you covered, as we're diving into the biggest news pieces from the week.


Weekend Box Office


Over the weekend, Kong: Skull Island took the top spot at the box office, taking in $61 million. Logan was second with $37.9 million. Check out the complete top 10 list here, and if you're interested in a review of the newest Kong movie, click here.


A New Wonder Woman Trailer Debits


On Saturday, the latest Wonder Woman trailer debuted during the Kid's Choice Awards on Nickelodeon. You can check out the trailer here. We also have a breakdown of the trailer, where we go in-depth on her origins.


Iron Fist Comes To Netflix


Netflix's series Iron Fist debuted on Friday. This is the fourth collaborative series for the company and Marvel. Based on the comic book character, Iron Fist follows Danny Rand, who becomes an expert martial artist with super powers. Early reviews for the Netflix series haven't been positive, and the show's star has a few words for the critics. You can find out more about the Iron Fist character here.


More Game Of Thrones News


With Season 7 of Game of Thrones coming this July, there was a lot of news about the show this past week. We learned Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds will be appearing as a Wildling this season. In addition, director Matt Shankman revealed just how large the dragons are going to be. And while Season 8--the final season of the series--may be a littler shorter, only consisting of 6 episodes, the creator of the series discussed the possibility of a spinoff in the future.


A Few Shows Were Renewed


This week, a few television shows are getting second seasons: HBO's Crashing, FX's Legion, and Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events. You can learn more about Crashing and Legion here, and more about A Series of Unfortunate Events here.


Trailer For New Pixar Film Released


Pixar has a new movie coming out, and it's by the directors of Toy Story 3. The new film, Coco, follows a young boy who goes on an adventure to the land of the dead where he befriends a trickster named Hector. Check out the trailer here.


James Gunn May Not Be Involved With Guardians Of The Galaxy 3


We got to see the newest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer this past week. There wasn't a lot of new footage, aside from a few great jokes at Nebula's expense. In addition, we learned that James Gunn's future with the GotG franchise is uncertain. Learn more about that here.


The Matrix Returns


The Matrix is getting another movie. Warner Bros. revealed that it is taking the beloved 1999 film and expanding on its universe, much like The Animatrix. Michael B. Jordan is being lined up to star in the film. To find out more, including whether or not Keanu Reeves will be involved, click here.


GSU Reacts To Another Weird Anime


Every week, the GameSpot gang sits down to watch a really weird anime. This week, the crew watched The Pillow Boys. In this POV anime, viewers are treated to an extremely uncomfortable one-on-one with a person who wants to know how their day went and give them a butt massage. Yes, it's as awkward as it sounds, so check out how folks from GS reacted to it here.


The Big Bang Theory Is Getting A Prequel Series


Fans of the Big Bang Theory were super-pleased this week to hear that the show is getting a prequel, following the exploits of a younger Sheldon. Iain Armitage will star in the series, and Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on Big Bang Theory, will narrate the new show. You can learn a few more details here.


The Series 10 Doctor Who Trailer Is Here


After taking more than a year off, Doctor Who is coming back to television in April, and BBC released the first trailer for the new series. It features the Doctor, his new companion, and the threats they'll face this year, including the return of the Cybermen, which look a whole lot like the version from their first appearance. Aquaman Movie Delayed


Aquaman, which was originally slated to come out in October of 2018, has been pushed back two months. Now, the DC superhero film will be coming out on December 21, 2018. Why this happened is unknown at this time.


Venom Has A Release Date


For the past couple years, Sony wanted to expand on its Spider-Man Cinematic Universe, but for a while, that seemed to have come to a standstill. This past week, it was revealed that Spider-Man's first spin-off, Venom, finally got a release date: October 5, 2018.



Zelda: Breath Of The Wild: All The Armor We've Found (So Far)

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a plethora of awesome armor sets to discover. In our time spent with the game, we've been able to find a decent amount. Breath of the Wild comes out on March 3 as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch; the game also arrives for Wii U on the same day. In other news, Nintendo has announced a $20 DLC Pass for Breath of the Wild. For more details about the game, check out our feature covering everything you need to know about it.
