Bandai Namco has released a new dev diary for Digimon Survive, an upcoming survival strategy RPG based on the franchise about digital monsters. The video acts as a lead-up to both the game's release and the upcoming 20th anniversary for the international debut of the original Digimon Adventure anime, recounting the history of Digimon and how it has influenced the development of Digimon Survive. This video is linked below.
"At present, the Digimon Story series is acting as our core property since we believe that it's our best property to further expand Digimon's reach, but we also have another series known as Digimon World that while strongly supported by our core fans, is rather specialized in its game mechanics making it somewhat harder for more casual fans and customers to get into, leading us to spend some time thinking about how we can change this, how we can keep the unique gameplay style and feeling of a new game while also creating a Digimon game that's a new approach, and this is what led us to develop Digimon Survive," producer Kazumasa Habu said.
"We also looked at one of the key features of the Digimon Adventure anime, where Digimon grew stronger to reflect people's hearts, and wondered what would happen if we incorporated that element into a game," he continued. "We thought it would be fun to have the drama between the characters factor into how the Digimon evolve within the game." Habu went on to describe how Digimon Adventure played a huge role in Digimon Survive's development, citing the anime as inspiration for the game's storytelling, art style, and character designs.
In this regard, the Bandai Namco team turned to the original source when it came to building Digimon Survive's world--director Hiroyuki Kakudō. "One of the most interesting things I heard from [Kakudō] was that Digimon, as titled, were not born because humans created computers but instead became visible to human beings only because they created computers and digital technology," Habu said. "He told me that he wrote the world of Digimon with this in mind, that Digimon have been living alongside humans throughout history and that Digimon in the past may have been manifested through magic or sorcery or in Japan, via the ancient art of onmyo, subjugating them as shikigami, or as yokai, or even as demons… One of the concepts we have for this game is whether or not we can bring to life and expand on this challenging fictional world [Kakudō] has envisioned."
Bandai Namco's contribution to Digimon's lore seems to be the end of the Digital World or at least some sort of implication that it undergoes a cycle of destruction and rebirth. Habu describes Digimon Survive's world as a place of "severe ruin, the sort of tragic place so broken that it might vanish at any given moment."
Even though we still don't know much about Digimon Survive, it's my most anticipated game of 2019. The game is expected to launch on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Only one weekend remains before Destiny 2 receives its next content drop: Penumbra, the final content addition covered under the game's Year Two annual pass. June 4 starts the Season of Opulence, the last new content addition before Bungie outlines the "next chapter" of Destiny--and since it's the weekend, that makes this the last visit by Exotics peddler Xur before the start of the new season.
Xur is hanging out in the Tower this week. Head to the Hangar and turn left from the stairs, past Dead Orbit, to find Xur up on the catwalk near the edge of the area. Things are a bit out of character for Xur this week: He's not carrying a weapon for you to buy, but only three pieces of armor.
For Warlocks, Xur offers the Wings of Sacred Dawn chest armor, which you can use with the Dawnblade Super. When you're using the Exotic, aiming your weapon will let you hover in midair, and landing weapon hits while you're up there will extend the effect. Titans can snag the Aeon Safe gauntlets, which grant grenade and class ability energy to your allies and even more energy if they're wearing Aeon Cult gear themselves. Finally, Hunters get the Frost-EE5 boots, increasing your sprint speed when you dodge and speeds up your ability regeneration while sprinting.
Frost-EE5 (Exotic Hunter leg armor) -- 23 Legendary Shards
Wings of Sacred Dawn (Exotic Warlock chest armor) -- 23 Legendary Shards
If you're bummed about not getting a gun from Xur this week, you can also buy a Fated Engram, if you can afford it. Dropping 97 Legendary Shards on the item will grant you one Year One Exotic you don't already have for that character. Xur also offers the Five of Swords challenge card for free, which allows you to add difficulty modifiers that increase your score in Nightfall runs.
And if you haven't finished all nine of Xur's Invitations of the Nine, you can snag one of those as well. The bounty was new in Season of the Drifter, dispensing Powerful gear rewards, a bit of story about the Nine and the Drifter, and a lore drop.
E3 2019 is fast approaching, and the biggest publishers are preparing to show off their slates of games for the upcoming year and beyond. Square Enix is holding a press event on Monday, June 10 at 6 PM ET / 9 PM PT. Regular show watchers will recognize that time slot as one that usually belongs to Sony, which is forgoing the conference this year.
We already know some of Square Enix's plans, while others are less clear. The company has teased a reveal of its long-anticipated Marvel's Avengers game. Some details have purportedly already leaked, but seeing it announced live is almost certain to reveal more information. Square also recently announced it will show off Dying Light 2 from Techland at its E3 event. And while it isn't quite confirmed, the latest State of Play presentation showed of the Final Fantasy VII remake with an intriguing "more to come in June" teaser, which probably means it will be part of the E3 presentation too.
Make sure to check out all of GameSpot's coverage of E3 2019 for the latest breaking news, and read our full E3 conference schedule to plan your watching for the weekend. Below is a standing list of all of the confirmed Square Enix games we know are slated to make an appearance at the show, so far.
Robert Pattinson has won the role of the Dark Knight. It has been reported that Warner has approved Pattinson as the star of The Batman, the upcoming DC movie to be directed by War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves.
According to Deadline, the studio has decided to move forward with Pattinson as Batman after considering him and X-Men star Nicholas Hoult. The news that Pattinson was the front-runner was first reported earlier this month. Deadline states that both actors were impressive contenders, but ultimately the studio went with the former Twilight star. The site also reports that DC is intending to make a trilogy of Batman movies with Pattinson in the lead. An official announcement is expected soon.
Pattinson is best known for his role as Edward in the Twilight series. He also appeared in two Harry Potter movies as Cedric Diggory, and has more recently starred in a series of acclaimed indie movies, such as Good Time, High-Life, and the upcoming The Lighthouse. He is also set to appear in Christopher Nolan's next film, the thriller Tenet, which is now in production.
The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021. The movie has been in the works for several years, with Ben Affleck originally set to star and direct it. Affleck stepped down as director in early 2017, and more recently confirmed that he was no longer involved at all, stating that he had "tried to direct a version of it, but couldn't crack it."
In a recent interview, Reeves hinted at what fans could expect from the movie. "It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale," he said. "It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He's supposed to be the world's greatest detective, and that's not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been."
Larian Studios, the developer behind Divinity: Original Sin and Original Sin 2, has dropped what appears to be a teaser for a new Baldur's Gate.
The official site has updated with a "III" logo, though the stylized lettering isn't quite unique enough to necessarily identify it as belonging to Baldur's Gate. As some savvy Twitter users have pointed out, though, the metadata refers to the image as "BaldursGate_logo_III_retouched." It's possible this wasn't meant to be seen and is something of an inside joke, but it could also mean the studio is bringing Baldur's Gate back. The timing of this tease could suggest that the studio is preparing a reveal at E3 2019.
The series has been relatively quiet recently. An Enhanced Edition port of the original Baldur's Gate was released in 2013, and a new expansion was released in 2016, under Atari and the Canadian publisher Beamdog. The last numbered Baldur's Gate game released in 2000, developed by BioWare.
The Divinity games have gained critical acclaim of their own. GameSpot's review of Original Sin 2 awarded it a 10/10, which would make the studio a good fit for reviving the classic series.
"From lonely farmhouses through pitched battles with gods in far-flung dimensions, Divinity: Original Sin II is one of the most captivating role-playing games ever made in both its original and Definitive incarnations, with the latter proving that even the most complicated role-players can be ported successfully to gamepad-limited consoles," Brett Todd wrote. "This immaculately conceived and emotion-wrought fantasy world, topped by brilliant tactical combat, make it one of the finest games of recent years, and it remains an instant classic in the pantheon of RPG greats."
Netflix is to raise the price of its subscriptions in the UK for the first time since 2017, the company has said. Two of its three membership options will go up in price, with the other remaining the same.
The two options affected are the mid-range standard tariff, which will soon cost £9 per month, having previously cost £8 per month. This popular option allows you to stream HD TV and films to two devices at a time.
The premium option, which currently costs £9 per month and allows you to stream ultra HD content to four devices, will increase to £11 per month, while the basic SD-only package will remain at £6 per month. The new prices will be rolled out over the coming weeks for existing customers, but are effective immediately for new members.
Netflix told BBC News the price hike was necessary "to reflect the significant investments we've made in new TV shows and films." The new prices take Netflix's standard tariff above the £8 per month Amazon charges for Prime Video, while NowTV ranges from £8 to £34 per month, depending on the type of shows you like to watch. Other UK streaming services are funded by advertising or license fees.
Netflix recently overtook Sky TV as the most popular TV service in the UK. However, things could be shaken up in the coming months: the BBC and ITV plan to launch a joint BritBox service in the UK soon, while Amazon Prime will begin showing live Premier League matches from next season. Apple and Disney also have streaming services in the works.
The Witcher is one of the most anticipated upcoming shows over the next few months. The show, adapted from the popular novels turned video game series, is set to hit Netflix in the last three months of 2019, and it has now been confirmed that production has finished on Season 1.
The news comes via star Henry Cavill, who plays Geralt of Rivia. He took to Instagram to post about the "incredible journey" of making the show. "Season 1 of The Witcher has finally come to an end," he wrote. "And although I'm pulling a face here it has been an incredible journey! The cast and crew worked tirelessly throughout, everyone pitched in and brought their A game to set and I couldn't be more proud of you all." The post was accompanied by a picture of Cavill in a make-up chair--check it out below:
The Witcher's showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich also marked the end of production on Twitter. "That's a wrap on season one," she wrote. "I have enough gray hair to play Geralt now, but it's been the best year of my life. So grateful to the writers, the cast, and the exceptional crew who worked their asses off to make the Continent come to life."
The Witcher will run for eight episodes, and is based on the fantasy novel series written by Andrzej Sapkowski, from which the games are also adapted. Sapkowski has worked on the English language drama series as a creative consultant.
As for the Witcher game series, the newest instalment was 2015's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. No new projects in the series have been announced, and developer CD Projekt Red is now working on the much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.
Disney has released a set of new character posters for the upcoming Lion King remake, and they're quite a sight to behold. As you will have noticed from the first trailer, the new Lion King utilizes cutting-edge technology to make characters like Simba, Mufasa, and Scar look eerily life-like. That's still the case with the new character posters; they almost look too good.
Click through the images in the gallery below to see all the major character posters. To me, Zazu is the most unsettling of the bunch; see for yourself:
The Lion King opens in theatres on July 19. It is directed by Jon Favreau with a script from Jeff Nathanson, who previously wrote the Steven Spielberg movie Catch Me If You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
The cast is led by Donald Glover as adult Simba. James Earl Jones returns as Mufasa, while Chiwetel Ejiofor voices Scar. Seth Rogen voices Pumbaa with Billy Eichner taking on the role of Timon. Singer Beyonce plays Nala, while John Oliver voices Zazu.
A new TV spot for The Lion King was just released--check it out below.
Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian's new RPG, The Outer Worlds, seems like it'll have something new to show at E3 2019. The game's Twitter account today posted a cryptic message that suggests some kind of E3 announcement/showing is coming up.
"The Board wants to let you know to pay attention to broadcasts from Los Angeles, California, Earth, in the coming weeks for [REDACTED]," reads the message.

The Outer Worlds is being published by Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two Interactive's new indie games label, Private Division, and it'll be released on Xbox One, as well as PS4 and PC.
The 14 Xbox Game Studios games that Microsoft is bringing to E3 2019 is more first-party titles than the company has ever had at E3.
The PC edition of The Outer Worlds will be released on the Epic Store and Windows Store first, before coming to Steam a year later. Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, who worked on the original Fallout, are heading up the team making The Outer Worlds. The game is showing a lot of promise, and as mentioned, it's set for release sometime in 2019.
The first trailer for Pixar's newest movie, Onward, has arrived. The film takes place in a fantasy world and stars two teenage brothers who are elves.
Together, they "embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there." Here's the magical first trailer:
The brothers, Ian and Barney, are voiced by Spider-Man actor Tom Holland and Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt, respectively. Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus also voice characters.
The movie is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae; they worked together on Monsters University. Onward releases in theatres in March 2020.
Pixar's next movie is the much-anticipated Toy Story 4, which debuts in June.
[Update: John Vignocchi has now revealed where he's headed post-Gearbox. On Twitter, he revealed he's now working at Nintendo. According to his LinkedIn page, Vignocchi is working at Nintendo on third-party publisher and developer relations. A subsequent tweet explains, "I'll be driving developer and publisher relations for North America so that Nintendo can continue to bring amazing content to all fans. I plan to help continue the tradition of building memories through Nintendo that will last a lifetime.]
Dear industry and personal friends: It's official: I've joined Nintendo and could not be more excited! pic.twitter.com/NoVJQHAO2J
Ahead of the release of Borderlands 3 in September, Gearbox Publishing boss John Vignocchi is heading out. The games industry veteran announced on Twitter that he's left Gearbox for his "dream job" somewhere else.
"Leaving the company was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make and I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for the love and support of everyone there," Vignocchi said on Twitter. "They understood and encouraged me to take this role as it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime gig."
Vignocchi said he had a great time working at Gearbox, where he served as executive producer for Gearbox Publishing for about a year. He specifically praised Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford and head of publishing Steve Gibson, saying they both know "how to bring out the passion and excellence of all the amazing [developers] that work there."
Vignocchi didn't say where he's going after Gearbox, but he noted that he is going on a "bit of a road trip," which suggests the new job is not close to Gearbox which is in Frisco, Texas.
Vignocchi joined Gearbox in October 2018 after a long run at Disney where he oversaw Disney Infinity and other products and projects. He spent less than a year at Gearbox before leaving. Pitchford said goodbye to Vignocchi in a post of his on on Twitter in which he wished Vignocchi well in his new job.
The newest patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has arrived. Version 3.1.0 is out now, and it adds VR support for Nintendo Labo and makes a series of changes to fighters.
You need the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con VR goggles to play in VR, and it's important to note that it only works in single-player offline.
Outside of the VR support, Version 3.1.0 makes general game balance adjustments and fixes "several" issues. Additionally, the patch allows players to use FPs in Battle Arenas.
As for the fighter adjustments, there is a long, long list of changes and one of them applies to all characters. With the new update, you now have to wait longer to complete a wall-jump after wall-jumping. In terms of character-specific changes, Pikachu's grab range is increased while Samus' up Smash attack is easier to hit multiple times. Donkey Kong's neutral special now makes his super armor last longer after performing a fully charged move. You can see all the changes posted below, as written by Nintendo.
You can use the Toy-Con VR Goggles to enjoy Smash in VR mode via the Games & More menu.
VR mode is a single-player experience only.
The Toy-Con VR Goggles are sold separately as part of the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit or the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit - Starter Set + Blaster.
An option to send amiibo out on journeys has been added, through which FPs go on a journey to train via the internet. You can find it via Games & More → amiibo → Send on a Journey.
Some of the preferred rules for Quickplay battles have been adjusted.

Season 9 of Fortnite is well underway, and along with the usual weekly and Utopia challenges, Epic is holding a Downtown Drop limited-time mode, which comes with its own assortment of tasks to complete and rewards to unlock. Most of these are fairly self-explanatory, but one that'll require a little more work is to search O-N-F-I-R-E letters. These are scattered around the map, so if you need help finding them, we're here to show you where to go.
The Downtown Drop LTM takes place in its own self-contained map, which greatly limits the area you'll need to search to find the letters. Even so, the map can be confusing to navigate thanks to all of the ramps and corners it features, especially since you're constantly slipping and sliding as you play the mode, so knowing exactly where to look for the letters will greatly alleviate the frustration of this challenge. You can see where each of the letters is located below:
O: Next to the red car in the southeast corner
N: Near the basketball court
F: Near the Durrr Burger food truck
I: Near the secret tunnel leading to the sewers
R: In front of the crane truck at the end of the map
E: By the subway turnstile
Once you've found all six letters, the challenge will be complete, and you'll earn a stylish back board for your troubles. If you need more help finding the letters, we show you exactly where each one is located in the video at the top of this guide. You'll need to hurry if you're hoping to unlock the back board, however; the Downtown Drop LTM is slated to end on June 3, giving you only a few more days to finish this challenge.
While most of the Downtown Drop challenges are fairly straightforward and should be easy enough to complete with a little persistence, another one that may give you some trouble is to find Jonesy. There are actually three separate challenges of this sort, and they task you with finding a cutout of the character in various areas of the map. You can see all of the locations in our video walkthrough.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has announced his team's final E3 2019 rehearsal is finished and that Microsoft has "lots to show" this year. In fact, 14 of the games being shown at E3 this year are Xbox One first-party titles.
"Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond," Spencer tweeted. "Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we've ever had in the show. Fun times." All Microsoft first party titles now typically release as Xbox One console exclusives (so you can find them on PC as well). Microsoft also usually launches its first-party titles on Xbox Game Pass the day they release.
Microsoft's list of Xbox Game Studios includes 343 Industries (Halo series), inXile Entertainment (Wasteland series), Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds), The Initiative, Turn 10 Studios (Forza Motorsport series), Undead Labs (State of Decay series), Compulsion Games (We Happy Few), The Coalition (Gears of War series), Mojang (Minecraft), Ninja Theory (DmC: Devil May Cry and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice), Playground Games (Forza Horizon series), and Rare (Sea of Thieves and Battletoads series).
Many of these studios are 2018 acquisitions. During E3 2018, during E3 2018, Microsoft announced it had acquired Undead, Playground, Compulsion, and Ninja Theory and had also established The Initiative. Microsoft acquired inXile in November 2018 and announced soon after that it had bought Obsidian as well.
Microsoft hasn't announced the full list of Xbox Game Studios that will be showcasing games at E3 2019, but a few have already been revealed. 343 Studios' Halo Infinite and The Coalition's Gears 5 have both been confirmed for E3 2019. InXile Entertainment's Wasteland 3 has been confirmed for E3 as well, although the game is not an Xbox One first-party title. Though they haven't been confirmed, there's a plausible chance Gears Pop and Rare's new Battletoads game make an appearance as well, as both were teased during E3 2018. There are also rumors that Ninja Theory will be announcing a new sci-fi game scheduled for 2020 called Bleeding Edge, a fourth Fable game will be announced to be released in 2021, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will get a final trailer and release date, The Outer Worlds will get a new gameplay trailer and launch window (which has seemingly been confirmed via an Obsidian tweet), and Gears Tactics will get a new trailer and 2019 release date.
But even if all of the rumors and speculation are true, that's still only 10 of the 14 first-party games, and Microsoft may have some third-party titles to showcase (such as Cyberpunk 2077). There are also rumors that Microsoft is unveiling at least one of its next-gen Xbox consoles during E3. It would certainly fit the announcement that Xbox is going to "go big" at E3 this year.
The newly revealed Call of Duty game for 2019, Modern Warfare, features some major changes, but one important aspect is remaining the same. As has been the case for the past few years, post-release content for Modern Warfare will launch first on PS4 before coming to Xbox One and PC. This was confirmed in a trailer for the game posted on PlayStation's YouTube account.
The message states: "Play new content first on PlayStation 4." The fine print goes on to clarify that the exclusivity period is one week. "New playable content, when available, will launch on PS4 seven days prior to launch on other platforms." This matches the week-long duration in last year's Black Ops 4, which is less than the month-long window that Call of Duty games used to have.
What is different with Modern Warfare is that all post-release maps will be free, whereas in the past Activision charged for them. The publisher confirmed as part of the game's announcement that it will not sell the traditional season pass that locks new maps and content to only players who pay for it. There's no word on what might replace this, although battle passes have become increasingly popular thanks to Fortnite.
Also new for Modern Warfare is cross-play support between PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It remains to be seen how cross-play might be impacted when PS4 players have access to content that Xbox One and PC players do not. We've followed up with Activision in an attempt to get more details.
Modern Warfare--which is a reboot of sorts of the popular sub-brand that began in 2007--launches on October 25. GameSpot recently visited developer Infinity Ward's studio to learn more about the game; check out the story below for more.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is about to open at Disneyland, giving fans of the space opera saga the opportunity to experience what living in a galaxy far, far away is actually like. From interacting with rebels and First Order officers to sampling the local cuisine, Disneyland has gone above and beyond in creating an immersive experience. However, for those who enjoy a good old fashioned Easter egg hunt, there's also plenty of ground to cover looking for nods to various corners of the galaxy.
The best Easter egg in all of Galaxy's Edge has nothing to do with Star Wars, though. Instead, it's a tribute to Harrison Ford's other iconic franchise, the Indiana Jones movies. If you're standing in just the right spot on Dok-Andar's Den of Antiquities--to the left of the lightsaber display--and look up, you'll see none other than the Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark. You'll have to look hard, but hidden behind a plethora of items, the golden chest stands out. It's hard to snap a photo of, though, as you can see below.
This piece isn't just any Ark of the Covenant, though. This particular item is a nod to both the Indiana Jones franchise and a former ride at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios. According to a Disneyland employee who spoke to GameSpot, this particular Ark was pulled from the Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios after it closed. It was then shipped cross-country to its new home in Galaxy's Edge.
Its placement in the Den of Antiquities is thanks to Lucasfilm creative executive Pablo Hidalgo. According to the Disneyland employee, all of the items on the second floor of the shop were hand-picked by Hidalgo to point to a variety of Star Wars and Star Wars adjacent properties, from Return of the Jedi to the animated series Star Wars Rebels--and, of course, to Indy.
We'll have a deeper dive into the Easter eggs in the Den of Antiquities soon. In the meantime, check out GameSpot's photo tour of Galaxy's Edge, as well as a look at the most expensive item you'll find for sale in the land. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens Mat 31 at Disneyland and August 21 at the Walt Disney World Resort.
We're still fairly early into Season 9 of Fortnite, but it's already proven to be quite different from previous seasons. Along with the standard assortment of weekly and Utopia challenges, Epic has introduced a new collectible to the game called Fortbytes, which can only be obtained by completing certain tasks. On top of that is the ongoing Downtown Drop limited-time mode, which features its own unique set of challenges to complete and rewards to unlock.
Unlike a standard game of Fortnite, Downtown Drop takes place in a self-contained area and is all about momentum. The mode has players sliding around as though they were on a pair of skates, and the map is littered with boost pads and ramps to send you rocketing around. This also makes your character much trickier to handle, however, which can be a pain when you're searching for specific items hidden around the map, as many of the Downtown Drop challenges have you do. If you find yourself having a hard time completing these, we're here to make your life a little easier.
A handful of the Downtown Drop challenges are to find Jonesy--one of the original Fortnite characters--in various places around the map. There are three separate challenges of this nature. The first is to find Jonesy hidden behind a fence. That's an awfully vague hint, but if you hug the north side of the map, you'll eventually come upon a drop that'll dump you behind a curved wooden fence, changing your momentum. Head to the end of that alleyway and you'll see Jonesy behind a chain-link fence.
The second challenge is to find Jonesy in the sewers. This one is fairly easy to spot. On the eastern side of the map is a secret tunnel--you'll see a trail of coins leading you into it. Head into the tunnel and you'll be dropped onto a boost pad, which will send you hurtling along other pads into the sewers, where you'll come across the Jonesy cutout before trampolining back up to the surface.
The final challenge has you finding Jonesy in three different locations: near the basketball court, near the rooftops, and in the back of a truck. The basketball court can be found at the end of the first slope down at the beginning of the map; head inside and you'll spot Jonesy against the back wall. The rooftop is a bit trickier. Find the crane that's dangling a car and use an Impulse Grenade to send yourself up onto the building that is still being constructed, where you'll see the Jonesy cutout. The truck is also easy to miss, as it's located at the end of an alley near the beginning of the map. If you need more help finding them, we walk you through where every Jonesy is located in the video above.
Darksiders 3 didn't go over well at launch, with our reviewer scoring the game a 4/10 back in November 2018. Despite the lackluster reception, the latest installment is certainly not the last in the action-adventure franchise. According to the E3 Coliseum, a new Darksiders game will be revealed during an E3 panel.
Called Darksiders: Action Adventure Evolved, the panel is set to address "the inception of the Darksiders universe and where it's headed next." It's scheduled for Thursday, June 13 from 10:30 - 11 AM PT. While there are no concrete details about what to expect from the panel, the discussion will unveil the "fresh direction" the franchise is headed and coincides with the reveal of a brand new Darksiders title. The official panel description is below.
"A discussion about the inception of the Darksiders universe and where it's headed next. This panel will coincide with the E3 2019 unveil of a brand new Darksiders game that takes the franchise in a fresh direction. This is a panel discussion about the art and business of creating and maintaining an action adventure franchise rich in-game and corporate lore."
In our Darksiders 3 review, we said, "There are remnants of a good game here, buried within the vivacious combos of a combat style this game doesn't want to embrace. Unfortunately, it's buried far too deep to ever salvage."
E3 2019 starts on Saturday, June 8 with the EA Play livestream kicking off the convention. Be sure to check out the schedule to see all the latest announcements and game reveals.
A new week-long event is kicking off soon in Pokemon Go. Niantic is holding another Adventure Week beginning Tuesday, June 4, and it'll give players a chance to earn extra rewards, catch some rare Rock-types, and even find a couple of new Shiny Pokemon.
During Adventure Week, Geodude, Rhyhorn, Omanyte, Aron, Lileep, Anorith, and other Rock Pokemon will appear in the wild much more frequently than normal. You'll also be able to hatch certain Rock-types--such as Onix, Larvitar, Lileep, Anorith, and Shieldon--from 2 km Eggs, and Onix and other Rock Pokemon will appear in Raid Battles. On top of that, you'll have your first chance to catch Shiny versions of Onix, Lileep, and Anorith.
In addition to increased Rock Pokemon spawns, you'll earn four times the usual amount of Buddy Candy during Adventure Week, as well as a whopping 10 times the usual amount of XP the first time you spin the Photo Disc at a new PokeStop. If you have Adventure Sync turned on, you'll also be able to earn 50,000 Stardust and 15 Rare Candies when you walk 50 km.
Finally, Niantic is distributing special Field Research tasks during Adventure Week. As usual, you'll be able to collect these tasks by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops. Adventure Week is scheduled to end at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST on June 11. You can read more about the event on the official Pokemon Go website.
Adventure Week isn't the only Pokemon Go event on the horizon. The game's next Community Day will take place on Saturday, June 8. The featured Pokemon this month will be Slakoth; not only will it appear in the wild more frequently than normal, it will also be able to learn an event-exclusive move if you manage to evolve it into its final form, Slaking, up to an hour after the event ends. The Legendary Pokemon Cresselia has also returned for a limited time.
The Pokemon Company held a press conference earlier this week, where it announced a handful of new Pokemon games and services, including a new app called Pokemon Sleep that aims to "turn sleep into entertainment." To coincide with the announcement, the Sleeping Pokemon Snorlax is spawning in the wild in Pokemon Go until June 3.
Nintendo is rolling out a new patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this week. All the company has said is the update will make an assortment of "fighter adjustments," but it appears there will be a few new features on the way as well, including Labo VR support. [Update: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's 3.1.0 update is now live, adding the new VR mode and Amiibo features. You can find the full patch notes here.]
The in-game notification for the 3.1.0 update was uncovered ahead of the patch's release (via Twitter). According to that, the update will roll out at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET today, May 30 (2 AM BST on May 31) and add a VR mode, which will give players "a whole new perspective on the Smash action." To play this mode, you'll need to have the Toy-Con VR Goggles from the Labo VR kit.
In addition to the VR mode, it appears the 3.1.0 update is adding some new Amiibo functionality. According to the leaked notification, players will be able to send their Amiibo fighters off on "journeys to train" and have them battle against other Amiibo fighters. Additionally, Amiibo fighters will now be able to join Battle Arenas.
Beyond the upcoming update, a new Spirit Board event has been announced. This week's event is called Super Smash Sisters, and it features heroines from an assortment of different games, including the Legendary Spirits Pyra, Mythra, and Krystal. On top of that, players will be able to unlock a brand-new Spirit Peachette. The Super Smash Sisters event runs from May 31 to June 5.
