Marvel Reveals 11 New Comic Series, Including A New Star Wars Title

Today, Marvel revealed solicitations for their comic titles in May. Aside from their upcoming event Secret Empire, the publisher has 11 new books headed to stores. Here's what you can look forward to, in the order listed in the press release.

Secret Warriors


Written by Matthew Rosenberg

Art by Javier Garron

Cover by Tradd Moore

The first issue is a tie-in to the upcoming event, Secret Empire. SHIELD Agent Daisy Johnson teams up with Ms. Marvel, Moon Girl, Devil Dinosaur, Karnak, and Inferno to help save the Inhumans. The book is marketed as part spy-thriller and part action.


All New Guardians of the Galaxy

Art and Cover by Aaron Kuder

The Guardians of the Galaxy are back and on the run from the Nova Corps. The group finds themselves in the middle of a war between The Collector and The Grandmaster. This title will come out twice a month.


Rocket

Guardians of the Galaxy member Rocket spins off into a new series. There was no information regarding the story for the new series in the solicitation.


I Am Groot

Groot becomes separated from the Guardians of the Galaxy, billions of light-years away. He ends up on an alien planet and has to find his way back home.


Jean Grey

The teenage version of Jean Grey travelled to the present day Marvel universe a few years back, and now, she has her own series. She's trying to escape becoming the Phoenix and breaking the constant cycle of life and death to change her own future.


Generation X

A new team of mutants is here, led by Jubilee. Generation X follows a group of super-powered beings whose powers may not be that super. These characters may not be fighting Sentinels, but they will be taking on the mutant-hunting group, The Purifiers.

Cable also leads his own team of mutants in this new series. However, this team will be travelling through time to keep the world safe.


Black Bolt

In his first solo series, Black Bolt has been imprisoned but doesn't know who did it or where he is. Right away, he has to battle The Absorbing Man in a fight to the death.


Luke Cage

The man who gave Luke Cage his superpowers--Dr. Noah Burstein--has died. Cage heads to New Orleans for the funeral and finds nothing but questions in this new city.


Zombies Assemble

The Avengers have to save Earth from its destruction. This time, the undead are the ones threatening to destroy it. This is the original manga series adapted into English for the first time.


Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel

Taking place during the original trilogy, Luke Skywalker has to team up with Doctor Aphra--Darth Vader's former associate--in order lead him to a gathering at the Screaming Citadel. While is seems like a mini-series, the solicitation does not mention how long this book will run.
