EVO 2018 Full Schedule: When Does It Start, How To Watch It

By Kevin Knezevic on Aug 04, 2018 04:20 pm

Gaming's most prestigious fighting game tournament, EVO, is just around the corner. This year's competition takes place this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, and features some of the most recognizable names in esports battling for the top spot in a number of popular fighting games. Even if you can't attend the event in-person, however, you can still follow along with all the action online.

EVO will stream the entire competition on Twitch, so you can catch all of the matches as they unfold from the comfort of your home. The tournament kicks off on Friday, August 3, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET and runs through the weekend, concluding with the Top 8 Finals of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and other games on Sunday, August 5. You can see the full tournament schedule below.

Eight different fighting games will be featured at this year's tournament, including the aforementioned Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, and the newest addition to the EVO lineup, Dragon Ball FighterZ. These will be streamed throughout the weekend across EVO's seven different Twitch channels, while the Capcom Fighters channel will exclusively broadcast matches of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. The full stream schedule is outlined below.

Aside from the intense competition, EVO is where developers traditionally reveal big fighting game announcements. Last year's competition featured the most world premiere announcements in the tournament's history; it offered fans their first glimpse of Trunks in Dragon Ball FighterZ and revealed the return of Skullomania, among other announcements.

This year's tournament seems like it will also feature a few surprises for fighting game fans. EVO global business dev Mark Julio teased on Twitter that gamers "definitely do not want to miss out" on the event and reiterated that last year's competition featured a "record number" of announcements. What announcements await this year remains to be seen, but you can learn more about the tournament on the official EVO website.

EVO 2018 Finals Schedule

Fortnite Guide For Season 5 Challenges: Search Between Gas Station, Flaming Hoops, Birthday Cakes, And More

By Kevin Knezevic on Aug 04, 2018 04:19 pm

We're in the thick of Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royale on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. As before, the latest season brings with it a selection of new challenges to complete on a weekly basis, as well as a variety of Battle Pass rewards to unlock. This time, however, Epic has made a few notable changes to the way certain Battle Pass challenges operate. Here's everything you need to know about the new Season 5 challenges, details on all of the ones available so far, and how to get them all done.

Once again, players who purchase the Season 5 Battle Pass will get a set of objectives to complete every week, which in turn will go toward leveling the Battle Pass up and unlocking new rewards. Unlike past seasons, however, weekly challenges are now divided into two categories, Free (which are available to all Fortnite players) and Battle Pass (which are reserved for those who've purchased the Pass). That means that even if you haven't bought the Battle Pass, you'll still be able to complete certain objectives and earn rewards.

If you do decide to pick up the Battle Pass partway through the season, you'll be also able to retroactively unlock any premium rewards you've earned based on the tier that you've already reached. However, one of the advantages of purchasing the Battle Pass early is bonus XP, which is awarded for playing in general and for playing in a party with friends. Since leveling up with XP translates into Battle Stars, you'll want to grab the Battle Pass as soon as you can and take advantage of these bonuses.

There are two other types of challenges to complete this season as well: Road Trip and Drift. The former are much like the Blockbuster challenges from Season 4; when you complete all of the challenges in a given week, you'll receive a special loading screen that points to the location of a hidden Battle Star. Drift challenges, on the other hand, task you with gaining a certain amount of XP. There are five Drift challenges to complete in total in Season 5, each of which reward you with a new style option for the Drift skin. If you manage to complete four out of the five Drift challenges, you'll also unlock the Rift Edge, an alternative for the pickaxe. For a limited time, you can also complete special anniversary challenges tied to Fortnite's birthday event.

You'll find a complete list of all Season 5 challenges available so far below, along with links to our maps and guides that will help you complete them all. You can see all of the new skins, cosmetics, emotes, sprays, and other items to unlock this season in our gallery of Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass rewards.

Fortnite Challenge Guide Week 4: Secret Road Trip For Free Battle Pass Tier (Season 5)

By Array on Aug 04, 2018 04:18 pm

In Season 5 of Fortnite's challenges, developer Epic Games has introduced a secret Road Trip challenge that allows you to get a free Battle Pass tier. To do this you need to follow a clue to a specific location. However, there are some steps you need to complete before you can do this. The first of these is to successfully finish all of the challenges from a week for the fourth time, at which point a special loading screen will be unlocked that provides the clue you need to find the hidden Battle Pass tier.

The new secret loading screen shows a bunch of Fortnite characters having a jolly old time at the pool party in Lazy Links. If you look past all the fun and frolicking to the back wall, you'll spot an image of a camel and a drinking cup, along with a picture of the Battle Star--that's the clue you need.

The location of the prize is on the road between Paradise Palms and Lucky Landing, in quadrant G9. Head over there and you'll quite easily spot the statue and the extra goodie too. Take a look at the video above to watch us track down the Battle Star, or use the images below to see a precise location map. Remember that this will only appear if you've completed all of the challenges from four different weeks.

If you need help completing them, we've got a breakdown of the Fortnite Season 5, Week 4 challenges, and a Search Between Gas Station, Soccer Pitch, Stunt Mountain guide. One of the challenges tasks you with jumping through a bunch of flaming hoops in an ATK or Shopping Cart. We've put together a Flaming Hoops location guide to make that easier for you.

If you're looking for something else to do, Fortnite's 5.10 content update introduced a new limited-time mode called Fly Explosives. Jump into this and you'll be outfitted with a jetpack and explosive weapons to do some high-flying damage. After spending some time in the vault, the Guided Missile has also been re-introduced, with some changes that you can read about in the patch notes linked above. For more Fortnite Season 5 coverage, including guides on previous challenges, take a look below.

Fortnite Guide: Flaming Hoops Locations Map (Week 4 Challenges, Season 5)

By Array on Aug 04, 2018 04:15 pm

Season 5, Week 4 of Fortnite is in full swing, which means there's a bunch of new challenges to undertake. Among the newest set of challenges available to all players is one that asks you to jump through flaming hoops with a Shopping Cart or ATK. The easy part of this challenge is getting your hands on a Shopping Cart or an ATK, but from that point on you'll have to put in some legwork to find the firey hoops and hurl yourself through them. But never fear, we've got a guide here along with a map to help you find the locations of each ring you'll need.

Statistically, finding five flaming hoops is actually a little easier than you might expect, since there's more than five on the island. The easiest way to locate them is to watch our video above and follow along. We've also got a map below pointing where the flaming hoops are, as well as details on where the ones we jumped through can be found. If you're struggling to find a vehicle, the ATK--All-Terrain Kart--can typically be found without much trouble around the buildings located at Lazy Links, Fortnite's recently added golf course.

Flaming Hoop Locations

  1. Over the cavern west of Lazy Links
  2. Over the ice cream van between Lazy Links and Loot Lake
  3. South of the Tomato Town tunnel
  4. Multiple surrounding the stunt mountain
  5. Between the Viking village and Snobby Shores
  6. Hills north of Flush Factory
  7. Under the bridge where the desert biome starts
  8. East side of the southern desert bridge, near the dinosaurs
  9. East of Paradise Palms

The other tricky challenge for Season 5, Week 4 involves searching for a Battle Star hidden somewhere on the map. As always, Epic provides a clue as to its location, but it's purposefully vague. We've hunted it down, and put together a Search Between Gas Station, Soccer Pitch, Stunt Mountain guide, so you won't have any trouble if you use that.

If you're still playing catch-up and working on the Season 5, Week 3 challenges, we've got a walkthrough on how to follow the Flush Factory treasure map and also gathered the locations of all the Clay Pigeons. If you haven't already done the Fortnite birthday challenges, which expire on August 7, we've got a guide for where to find the birthday cakes to dance in front of too.

Below you'll find a list of all our Fortnite Season 5 coverage, if you need help on the any of the other Season 5 challenges so far.

Fortnite Season 5, Week 4 Challenges

Free

  • Build structures (250) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Jump through flaming hoops with a Shopping Cart or ATK (5) -- 5 Battle Stars

  • Deal damage with Sniper Rifles to opponents (500) -- 5 Battle Stars

Fortnite's Challenges Week 4: Where To Search Between Gas Station, Soccer Pitch, Stunt Mountain (Season 5)

By Array on Aug 04, 2018 04:14 pm

Another week has come and gone, and that means a fresh batch of Fortnite challenges for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS players to complete. We're now in Season 5, Week 4, and there's a full lineup of seven more challenges to complete. You can read about those below, complete with a map and location details on how to complete the week's most difficult challenge: search between a gas station, soccer pitch, and Stunt Mountain.

This challenge is only available to those with the Season 5 Battle Pass. All you have to do for it is head to the designated location and pick up the Battle Star, which can be found in grid C5 on the map, at the base of Stunt Mountain, just northwest of Tilted Towers--it's hidden near a pale white tree. This tree is located north of the gas station and just south of Pleasant Park. You can look at the images below to see exactly where it is on the map and also get a breakdown of all the challenges. Alternatively, watch the video above to see us do the challenge.

Other Battle Pass-only challenges for Week 4 are more straightforward. These include dealing 500 damage to enemies with a Sniper Rifle, searching seven chests in Flush Factory, and getting three pistol eliminations. None of these need to be completed in a single match, so you can slowly make progress at your own pace over the season.

In the free challenges section, the two most straightforward challenges involve building 250 structures and eliminating five opponents in Dusty Divot. The one that will eat up some time is jumping through five flaming hoops with a Shopping Cart or an ATK; we've got a separate guide to help you find all of the hoops.

Fortnite Season 5, Week 4 Challenges

Free

  • Build structures (250) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Jump through flaming hoops with a Shopping Car or ATK (5) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Eliminate opponents in Dusty Divot (3) -- 10 Battle Stars

Battle Pass

  • Deal damage with Sniper Rifles to opponents (500) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Search Chests in Flush Factory (7) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Search between a gas station, soccer pitch, and Stunt Mountain (1) -- 10 Battle Stars
  • Pistol Eliminations (3) -- 10 Battle Stars

Fortnite's weekly challenges allow players to unlock Battle Stars by fulfilling specific objectives. These range from simply taking out a specific set of enemies, to trickier challenges that involve following treasure maps. Completing these unlocks unique customisation items and also levels up your Battle Pass--if you have one. Challenges are split into two categories, with a set of quests for all players and then a second set available exclusively to Battle Pass owners.

Developer Epic Games recently launched Fortnite's 5.10 content update, which introduces a limited-time mode called Fly Explosives. In this mode, players are equipped with jetpacks and explosive weaponry to wreak havoc on their fellow combatants. The update also pulls the Guided Missile out of the vault and puts it back into play, albeit with some changes.

For those still doing Season 5, Week 3 challenges, you can take a look at out our guide on how to follow the Flush Factory treasure map and also the locations of all the Clay Pigeons. If you haven't already done the Fortnite birthday challenges, we've got a guide for where to find the birthday cakes too. Take a look below for a comprehensive list of our Fortnite Season 5 coverage. The list includes guides to all the challenges so far, as well as a gallery of the new cosmetics introduced in the latest season, among other recent developments surrounding the game.

Nickelodeon Is Using The Company's Own Game Engine To Make A New TV Show

By Jordan Ramée on Aug 04, 2018 05:24 am

One of Nickelodeon's upcoming TV series is created using the company's Entertainment Lab, the R&D unit used for developing augmented and virtual reality games. The show's working title is Meet the Voxels, and it's a sitcom that documents the life of a family of video game characters.

According to Deadline, the Voxel family is composed of "Hunter, the 13-year-old star of a laser-tag video game; Maude, a 16-year-old girl fighting to pop as many bubbles as she can; their younger brother Cody who has not found his video game calling yet; Mom, a popular street fighter in her game; and Dad, a '90s-era classic console game character who quit the business years ago."

The pilot of the show is written by Jana Petrosini and Sean Gill, both of whom were behind Henry Danger, Kid Danger, and Game Shakers. Meet the Voxel's episodes will be designed so that they can also be viewed via virtual or augmented reality devices.

This news follows the announcement of a Mario Kart-like Nickelodeon-themed racing game called Nickelodeon Kart Racers. Nickelodeon Kart Racers features 24 race tracks and 12 characters from beloved Nickelodeon shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The game features both team-based co-op, where partners can pull off devastating fused attacks, and local free-for-all multiplayer.

New Infinity War Funko Figures Coming Out Soon

By Veronica Larkin on Aug 04, 2018 03:21 am

Funko collectors and Marvel fans alike, get excited, because a bunch of new Avengers Funko Pop collectables are coming out soon. All of these characters appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, and the figures are inspired by their performances in the movie.

A bunch of characters new and old will be getting Funko figures. First off, Teenage Groot is out of the pot, looking formidable with Stormbreaker in hand. Next up, Young Gamora, complete with her amazing braids, purple tunic, and small dagger, is getting a cute figure.

No Caption Provided
Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4

There is also a figure of Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, in the collection, with his super-arm and a giant gun. Perhaps the most creative, though, is the figure of Bruce Banner in the middle of his transition into the Hulk; he's legit half green.

Last but definitely not least, is a figure of Eitri, the dwarf king portrayed by Peter Dinklage in Infinity War, which includes his weaponized fists and his giant scar. The Eitri figure will be an Amazon exclusive.

The new Avengers Funko figures will be released in November, but if you can't wait that long for more good stuff from Infinity War, the Blu-ray edition just came out and we learned a lot from the audio commentary and special features.

WWE's Demon From Hell Is Now A Tennessee Mayor

By Mat Elfring on Aug 04, 2018 03:04 am

Former WWE Champion and Tag Team Champion Kane had a recent resurgence on Smackdown, teaming with former partner Daniel Bryan to take on the Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. However, as of the evening of August 2, fans shouldn't expect to see the Big Red Machine on weekly television because he's now the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

The man under the mask, Glenn Jacobs, gave a victory speech on that Thursday evening as he stepped into his new shoes as county mayor. He walked to the podium--and this is not a joke--while his WWE theme music played, which you can see below.

"Buddy just reminded me, we talked about having a cage match, and we never did that," Jacobs joked. He thanked everyone for showing up and invited his wife on stage on well to celebrate. Additionally, he thanked his opponent for running a great race as well, then talked about the future of the Republican Party.

Jacobs isn't the first sports entertainer to leave the squared circle for politics. One of Japan's most famous wrestlers--who battled Muhammad Ali in 1976--was elected into the Japanese House of Councils in 1989. Former WWE superstar Jesse "The Body" Ventura was mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, then went on in 1998 to become the governor of the state until 2002.

The most notable is WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump who became involved with WWE during the early years of Wrestlemania when Trump Plaza hosted Wrestlemania IV. Before becoming President of the United States, Trump made several appearances on WWE programming, including the infamous Hair vs Hair match at Wrestlemania 23, where Trump shaved Vince McMahon's head.

Stay tuned to GameSpot for more wrestling when Summerslam airs on the WWE Network and PPV on Sunday, August 19. We'll have live coverage of the show and more leading up to the event.

[Last Chance] PS4, Xbox One, Switch Deals At Best Buy This Week (US Only)

By Chris Reed on Aug 04, 2018 02:47 am

Best Buy's weekly ad usually devotes three or four pages to video game deals. You'll normally find a selection of games on sale, plus deals on bundles and accessories for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This week is different, because all the video game deals fit on just one page. Perhaps that's because of all the game deals that were in last week's Black Friday in July Sale. In any case, if you dig around, you can find some additional gaming deals that go unmentioned in the ad. Here are Best Buy's video game deals available through August 4.

First of all, the NES Classic Edition is in stock for $60. That's not a sale price, but these have been tough to find at retailers recently. The NES Classic Edition Controller, also tough to find, is in stock for $10. And if you're more of a 16-bit person, the SNES Classic Edition is in stock for $80. A couple of Switch games are also on sale; see below.

No Caption Provided

In the market for a new console and a new TV? You can buy the Xbox One S and 43" 4K TV bundle for $500, for a savings of $150. Or, if you buy any Xbox One, you'll save $20 when you throw in an extra controller. Similarly, you'll save $20 if you buy a new PS4 and and an extra controller as well. And you don't even need to buy a Switch to save $9 on an extra pair of Joy-Cons.

Football fans who are amped for the upcoming season can trade in their copy of Madden NFL 18 for its regular trade-in value, plus a $10 coupon for Madden NFL 19, which hits shelves on August 10.

Speaking of pre-orders, My Best Buy members get $10 in rewards for pre-ordering select games. The membership is free, and the games on the list happen to be some of the biggest upcoming titles, so take a look to see if you want to pre-order any of them. They include Madden NFL 19, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Kingdom Hearts III, Fallout 76, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and more.

All of which proves that just because it's a slow week for video game deals at Best Buy, you can still find a few sale items worth considering. For the full list of games and accessories that are on sale this week, click here.

September's Humble Bundle Is Now Available, And It Gives You A Choice

By Chris Reed on Aug 04, 2018 02:46 am

Most PC gamers are probably aware of the Humble Monthly gaming subscription. For $12 per month, you get a monthly bundle of games worth over $100. The catch is that some of the games you'll get are a mystery until after you've already paid. But as an assurance, you always get to unlock at least one game early. For the September 2018 Humble Bundle, you actually get a choice. You can either unlock Rise of the Tomb Raider or a trio of games: Sniper Elite 4, Tales of Berseria, and Staxel.

Rise of the Tomb Raider has appeared in Humble Monthly before, but if you haven't played it, it's a good choice. Not only is it an excellent game (see our 9/10 Rise of the Tomb Raider review), but you'd probably have time to finish it before Shadow of the Tomb Raider comes out on September 14. In either case, a handful of additional games will be revealed at the end of the month (though occasionally a game or two will unlock a couple weeks in).

The games come in the form of Steam codes that are saved in your Humble account. Unlike some other game subscription services, you get to keep and play your Humble Monthly games forever, whether you have an active subscription or not.

Humble Monthly subscribers get a number of additional bonuses as well. All active subscribers get 10% off every game in the Humble Store and access to subscriber-only deals. You also get access to the Humble Trove, a collection of mostly well-received indie games you can play as long as your subscription lasts. You get slightly better deals for subscribing for three or six months at a time. Subscribe for a full year, and you get a free month. Plus, 5% of Humble's proceeds go to charity.

All in all, Humble Monthly is one of the best deals in PC gaming. And with a choice of early unlocks for September, you have more control than usual over which games you receive.

Fortnite Disables ATK/Shopping Cart, Presenting An Issue For Flaming Hoops Challenge

By Kevin Knezevic on Aug 04, 2018 02:29 am

The shopping cart is causing problems once again in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Developer Epic announced it has had to disable the vehicle--along with the new ATK that was introduced in Season 5--in all game modes temporarily due to an unspecified bug.

The timing for this issue is especially problematic, as one of the new Week 4 challenges tasks players with jumping through flaming hoops using the shopping cart or ATK. Epic hasn't indicated how long the vehicles will be disabled, only noting that they'll be taken out of the game until the issue has been resolved, so you may have to wait a while to complete the flaming hoops challenge if you haven't already done so.

The shopping cart--Fortnite's first vehicle--has been an ongoing source of problems since it was added to the game back in June. Epic has had to pull the vehicle multiple times due to various issues that have arisen with it, and it's taken varying degrees of time to return to the game after each removal. However, this marks the first time the ATK, the new golf cart-like vehicle that was added at the start of Season 5, has had to be removed.

Epic says it will provide an update once the issue with the shopping cart and ATK has been resolved. In the meantime, while you may not be able to tackle the flaming hoops challenge, there are a number of other tasks to do right now in Fortnite: Battle Royale, such as searching between a gas station, soccer pitch, and Stunt Mountain. You can see all the challenges available so far in our complete Fortnite Season 5 challenges roundup.

You also still have a little more time to take part in Fortnite's special birthday challenges, which will be available until August 7. Completing all three of the challenges will net you special birthday-themed rewards, including a birthday cake back bling. You can also still try the game's latest limited-time mode, Fly Explosives.

Four Fastest Ways To Make Money In No Man's Sky

By Jordan Ramée on Aug 04, 2018 02:20 am

The No Man's Sky Next update is causing a resurgence of players to once again jump into Hello Games' title. Although exploring the cosmos and discovering new planets and alien species is still at the core of No Man's Sky, Next double downs on the action-adventure and survival elements by emphasizing base building, fleet construction, and equipment upgrades. All of which is very fun, but also very expensive.

Simply hopping planet to planet, mining ore, documenting new wildlife, and selling scrap you don't need will build up into a nice chunk of credits over time. But if you want to get your hands on the best technology that No Man's Sky has to offer as quickly as possible, you'll need to start actively searching for the means of making more money. Some of you might have the time to stop and smell the roses on your way to financial success--taking small moments to strip a copper mine here or plunder an ancient temple there. For those that can't--or simply just don't want to--the video above is for you. Jake has put dozens of hours into the No Man's Sky Next update, and it's led him to cultivate a handy list of all the best ways to earn credits as quickly as possible.

Of course, money isn't everything, so Next adds plenty of big changes that improve the aspects of No Man's Sky for the explorers to enjoy. No Man's Sky now has true multiplayer support, which allows you to play with your friends and complete missions together. These missions continue to push you further into the unknown, and Next adds new variations to photography, feeding, freighter attack and defense, archaeology, and hunting excursions. The universe of procedurally generated planets has also been upgraded with enhanced visuals that add a whole new color pallette to the game. Flying through space has never looked so beautiful.

If you've got a money-making tip that we missed, let us know in the comments below. Also, tell us why you play No Man's Sky. Do you explore the stars in hopes of finally understanding an alien language, do you prefer constructing an empire of bases on multiple planets, or is it something else?

No Man's Sky is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Next is live on all platforms and downloads to all copies of No Man's Sky for free.

Infinity War Director Details Spider-Man's Final Scene

By Mat Elfring on Aug 04, 2018 01:57 am

One of the toughest moments to watch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films comes from the tail end of Avengers: Infinity War. It consisted of numerous, shocking scenes the audience wasn't prepared for, but in the audio commentary for the digital release, fans learned a bit more about Spider-Man's final, heartbreaking scene. Warning: Avengers: Infinity War spoilers ahead.

After collecting all of the Infinity Stones, Thanos snaps his fingers and half of the sentient life in the universe dissolves into dust. One of the tougher moments to watch was Spider-Man fading away, which took a lot longer to happen than any other heroes. Originally, that wasn't the case as we learned in the audio commentary.

"If I remember correctly, it was, 'I don't feel so good,' Tony looked at him, he said, 'I'm sorry,' and disappeared," director Joe Russo said. "And then on the day, we kept driving to put more and more emotion into it, and just went up to Tom [Holland] and said, 'You don't want to go. You're a child. And you're using your strength as Spider-Man to fight this.' And then that was the performance that came out."

Spider-Man lasted the longest on screen before fading away, showing that he has the most fight in him, even though he's the youngest superhero in the movie. Holland's performance is extremely powerful at the end of the film, and it's one of the most memorable scenes.

You can hear the audio commentary for yourself if you pick up a digital copy of Infinity War, which is on sale now. The movie will come to 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD on Tuesday, August 14, and it's filled with special features. Here's what we learned from the home release.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Collector's Edition Revealed

By Eddie Makuch on Aug 04, 2018 01:47 am

The Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise has a history of over-the-top collector's editions, and this trend continues with this year's Black Ops 4. Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con was the Black Ops 4 Mystery Box Edition, the centerpiece of which is the creepy-looking box it comes in that looks like a skeleton, lights up, and makes Zombies sounds. The Mystery Box is inspired by the Zombies Mystery Box from the game.

Inside the box is a copy of Black Ops 4 in a steelbook, as well as Zombies Heroes FigPins for the Zombies characters Scarlett Rhodes, Bruno Delacroix, Diego Necalli, and Stanton Shaw. You also get a 1,000-piece puzzle featuring art from the entire Zombies experience dating back to its beginning in 2008, along with Issue #1 of the Black Ops 4 Zombies Dark House Comic from Dark Horse that dives into deeper detail on the backstory of the Black Ops 4 Zombies characters.

The $200 box also includes three Black Ops 4 lithographs inspired by the three Zombies experiences in Black Ops 4: Voyage of Despair, IX, and Blood of the Dead. A Black Ops 4-themed popsocket is also included in the package, while you also get a set of patches inspired by the game's 10 Specialist characters for multiplayer. Further still, the package comes with the Black Ops Pass, which gets you extra Zombies and multiplayer content over time. Finally, the package comes with "additional bonus content" to be announced later.

Black Ops 4 launches on October 12 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A multiplayer beta will be held in August, and you can find out all the specific times here. A second beta for Black Ops 4's battle royale mode will be held later.

Also at Comic-Con, Activision released two trailers for Black Ops 4's impressive-looking and fan-favourite Zombies mode--you can watch them here.

Monster Hunter World Adds Final Fantasy's Behemoth In New Update

By Kevin Knezevic on Aug 04, 2018 01:05 am

Capcom has rolled out a new update for Monster Hunter World on PS4 and Xbox One. This marks the fourth major one the game has received since it launched for the consoles earlier this year, and it introduces a variety of Final Fantasy XIV-inspired content, including a fearsome new monster to hunt: Behemoth.

The iconic Final Fantasy boss has invaded the New World, making this the first time in Monster Hunter's history that a monster from another video game series has been featured in one of its titles. Behemoth is a particularly challenging foe; as Capcom advises on the PlayStation Blog, players will need to employ MMO-style strategies and designate tank, attacker, and support roles among the group to weather the beast's onslaught and succeed.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4Gallery image 5Gallery image 6

Behemoth also has some unique tricks in its repertoire that make it an especially fearsome monster to battle. Its Enmity causes it to focus on and "relentlessly" attack a particular target. It can also unleash the Ecliptic Meteor, a devastating attack that will cause players to instantly faint if struck. According to Capcom, the only way to avoid this blow is to hide behind smaller meteors that were summoned by Behemoth during the battle.

In addition to Behemoth, the update introduces a new set of weapons and gear inspired by the Dragoon class from Final Fantasy XIV. Players will also be able to get their hands on a new Palico gear set that turns the feline companions into a Moogle, while Cactuars can be found around the environment and even used as traps.

You can find the full patch notes for the latest Monster Hunter World update on Capcom's official blog. The update is available to download for free on both PS4 and Xbox One. It weighs in at approximately 900 MB on the former console and 1 GB on the latter.

Final Fantasy XIV players won't miss out on the crossover fun. As part of Capcom's collaboration with Square Enix, the iconic Rathalos will appear in Final Fantasy XIV beginning August 7. Players who manage to beat the monster will get Rathalos armor and a Rathalos mount.

Wario Takes Over Nintendo's Twitter Account For WarioWare Gold Promotion

By Steve Watts on Aug 04, 2018 12:48 am

WarioWare Gold is now available, and Nintendo is promoting the new 3DS release by having the iconic villain take over the official Nintendo Twitter account. It kicked off with as much Wario laughter as could fit in the Twitter character limit and a change of profile pic, and went from there.

The madcap zaniness has included some looks at the games included in WarioWare Gold, some greedy admissions, and a slightly rigged poll that Wario is, mysteriously, winning handily so far.

The bit of flavorful personality is obviously meant to promote WarioWare Gold, a mega-mash-up of a wide variety of classic WarioWare classic micro-games with a handful of new inclusions. In GameSpot's WarioWare Gold review, James O'Connor called it a "true greatest hits package that showcases Wario's unique weirdo vibe, and this style of play remains inventive and thrilling." It's also enjoying a generally positive reception across the critical spectrum according to GameSpot sister site Metacritic.

Nintendo has turned these character takeover promotions into a somewhat regular trend. When Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze launched on Switch in February, it was Cranky Kong who took over for a bit of silly fun. We can probably expect Wario's tenure to last through the day, if not the weekend.
