Read our discussion with the devs about preserving the game's depth, picking characters, and Chun-Li's face. For our most recent impressions of the game, check out our in-depth feature detailing what we liked, disliked, and want.

Black Panther

Black Panther is a warrior king of a fictional African nation known as Wakanda. He's a part of a long lineage of royalty, serving as the heir to the Wakandan throne and the Black Panther mantle, a title given only to the chief of the Wakandan Panther tribe.

Captain America

Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, is the leader of the Avengers. He wields a shield made out of vibranium--the strongest metal in the Marvel universe. His super-human strength makes him a formidable foe, but it's his leadership skills that put him above the rest.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel, formerly longtime superhero Ms. Marvel, fights as the protector of the galaxy. Infinite marks the first time she has appeared in the roster of a Marvel vs. Capcom game.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is a former surgeon turned sorcerer after an elderly man known as the Ancient One teaches him how to tap into his innate mystical powers. He strives to protect the world from antagonistic mystical forces.

Gamora

Gamora is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a group of heroes committed to fighting the countless villains of the cosmic universe. She's a former assassin and servant of Thanos. However, when she learned her benefactor was aiming to sacrifice the universe to a dark entity known as Death, she rebelled and joined the forces of good.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton, is the sharpshooter of the Avengers. He brandishes a tactical bow and an arsenal of customized "trick arrows" that he uses to fight against a variety of foes.

Hulk

The Hulk is a rampaging green-skinned behemoth possessing incredible physical strength. His alter ego is Bruce Banner, a physically weak and reserved physicist. Both exist as separate personalities residing inside the same body.

Iron Man

Marvel's poster boy Iron Man returns to the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite roster. His origin story needs no introduction; though, if you're painfully unaware, he's a billionaire playboy turned superhero after suffering a severe chest injury during a kidnapping, which forces him to build a powered suit of armor to save his life and escape captivity.

Nova

Nova is a member of an intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps, which imbued him with superhuman abilities, like heightened strength, flight, and energy absorption and redirection.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a superhero team that operates primarily in the cosmic sector of the Marvel universe. He's the product of a scientific experiment that genetically modified animals to grant them human level intelligence and bipedal body construction. He's an expert tactician and a gifted marksman.

Thor

Thor is the Asgardian God of thunder. His powerful hammer--the Mjolnir--grants him the gift of flight and weather manipulation amongst other godly abilities. He fights to ward off threats against the Nine Realms.

Ultron

Ultron is a powerful robotic being built by Hank Pym aka Ant-Man. He was once a loyal AI, but his programmed sentience fueled contempt in him, causing Ultron to rebel against his maker.

Arthur

Arthur is the main character of the infamously difficult Ghosts 'n Goblins series. He's a brave knight that continually works to vanquish demons and threats to his kingdom.

Chris Redfield

Chris Redfield is one of the main protagonists in the Resident Evil universe. After a traumatic experience surviving the threat of biological weapons in a remote Mansion in the outskirts of Raccoon City, he has committed his life to helping end the threat of biological terrorism.

Chun-Li

Chun-Li is a master of Chinese martial arts and has a longstanding career in law enforcement. She has a strong sense of justice, always seeking opportunities to eliminate evil and corruption.

Dante

Dante is a demon hunter and paranormal detective committed to exterminating the threat of supernatural forces.

Mega Man X

Mega Man X is a robot that's a part of military task force known the Maverick Hunters, who hunt down robots that have given in to destructive, criminal tendencies. He is the successor to the original Mega Man model built by legendary robotics expert, Dr. Light.

Morrigan Aensland

Morrigan Aensland is a powerful succubus who lives for little more than the excitement of battle. While she's rather conceited and vain, Morrigan isn't as evil as the other demons of the Makai realm, which is where she calls home. As a result, she is often considered an anti-hero.

Nathan Spencer

Nathan Spencer was initially a member of the armed forces, but his military career was cut short when he lost his left arm to an explosion. While on rehabilitation leave, he agreed to become the first test subject for the army's developing bionics technology, which allowed him to obtain his now iconic robotic grapple-hook arm.

Ryu

Ryu is a practitioner of Shotokan-style Karate and mostly spends his life alone wandering the world looking for challenging opponents to fight. His primary ambition in life is to increase his strength as a fighter.

Strider Hiryu

Strider Hiryu is a master spy and ninja who is often silent but stern. He has super-human capabilities, being able to move with great speed and agility. In addition, he's an expert fighter and swordsman.

Sigma (DLC)

Sigma is the nemesis of Mega Man X. He was once the leader of the Maverick Hunters; however, he became infected by the Maverick Virus, which caused him to turn into a maniacal villain.

Zero

Like Mega Man X, Zero is a part of the military task force known the Maverick Hunters. Alongside X, he fights to rid the world of robotic threats against humanity. He was created by evil scientist and primary antagonist of the original Mega Man series, Dr. Wily.

WWE Great Balls Of Fire Match Card And Predictions

By Mat Elfring on Jul 06, 2017 03:54 am

Yes, WWE's next PPV is really named after a Jerry Lee Lewis song, and yes, the logo for the event doesn't even try to be subtle in any way. Regardless, on Sunday, July 9, the Raw brand-exclusive event Great Balls of Fire comes to PPV and the WWE Network and boasts eight matches, which includes five title matches.

Great Balls of Fire starts Sunday at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, with a Kickoff Show beginning at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT.

Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa (Kickoff Match)

(For the Cruiserweight Championship)

Neville must prove, once again, that he is the king of the cruiserweights when he takes on Akira Tozawa during the Kickoff Show. In the past, the cruiserweight bouts have been the highlight of the PPVs, so we know one thing is for sure: this is going to be great.

We thought Neville was going to drop the title to Austin Aries during that feud, but he didn't. Neville continues to prove he's a champ worthy of the title, and because this is the first big match between he and Tozawa, we're giving the win to Neville.

Our prediction: Neville wins

Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass

If you're not keeping track of what's happening on Raw, then this matchup is probably pretty confusing to you. Here's what happened: Enzo was getting attacked backstage, but we found out that the person behind it was actually Big Cass, who had become increasingly annoyed by Enzo's big mouth. Then, they made up, only to have Big Cass attack Enzo once again. Now, they're fighting each other in this "David vs. Goliath" battle.

Big Cass is an unteachable seven feet tall, while Enzo Amore is more than a foot shorter. It seems like this will be a cakewalk for Cass, but we're thinking that Enzo will actually get the win, to help legitimize him as a solo superstar. A win for Cass would just feel like a nail in the coffin in Enzo's career, so we're pulling for the Certified G.

Our prediction: Enzo Amore wins

Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz (30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match)

(For the Raw Tag Team Championship)

The Hardy Boyz get their rematch at Great Balls of Fire as they take on Cesaro and Sheamus in a 30-minute Iron Man match. They lost the titles at Extreme Rules in a steel cage, which had a pretty bizarre finish, involving Jeff Hardy going back into the cage after leaving. Nevertheless, fans will get to witness an Iron Man match, where the two teams will battle for 30 minutes to see who can get the most pins/submissions within the time limit.

We're giving the win to Cesaro and Sheamus simply because we hope it breaks Matt and Jeff Hardy. Their "Broken" gimmick was one of the most entertaining storylines in years, and it would be awesome to see it come to the WWE. In addition, Cesaro and Sheamus have been a lot of fun to watch in the ring, and they should have a bit more time with the belts to really establish them as champions.

Our prediction: Cesaro & Sheamus win

The Miz (c) vs. Dean Ambrose

(For the Intercontinental Championship)

We're not sure what to make of the Miz/Dean Ambrose rivalry. Is Raw trying to present this as a new feud, or are they building off of the storyline that began on Smackdown last year? Regardless, Dean Ambrose wants the IC title back, and the only way to get it is to defeat The Miz.

Without a doubt, this will be a fantastic battle, but for those who watch Smackdown, it's going to feel like deja vu. There are a few things that are different for the Raw version of this story. Maryse and Miz are on the outs, and Miz has Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas backing him up. More than likely, Miz will end up getting the win thanks to his "Miztourage." While the matches these two men have had were great, it's time for both of them to move on to something new, like Miz feuding with Goldust. Let's make that happen.

Our prediction: The Miz wins

Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt

Great Balls of Fire will feature the end of the first chapter between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. This is still a new rivalry so don't expect this to be the last one between the two.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this fight. Raw is tossing two of its biggest and underutilized stars in this mash-up match. This one will go to Bray Wyatt, who has been on a losing streak for what feels like forever. In order to solidify this feud, Wyatt has to come out on top.

Our prediction: Bray Wyatt wins

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks

(For the Raw Women's Championship)

Fans are excited to see Sasha Banks back in the spotlight, after being involved in a bland 205 Live-related story. Once again, she'll get a chance to win the Raw women's title by taking on Alexa Bliss, who seems unbeatable right now. This is the only women's match on the PPV, which is a big disappointment.

This is going to be one fantastic battle because both of these women are at the top of their game. We do not see the title changing hands here, especially with Summerslam right around the corner, where anything can happen. Instead, we expect Alexa Bliss to win, with a rematch coming in August.

Our prediction: Alexa Bliss wins

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match)

Braun Stowman isn't done with Roman Reigns yet. These two have had some over-the-top, brutal brawls with each other over the past couple of months, and now, they'll face each other in an Ambulance Match. The only way to win this no-DQ brawl is to get your opponent inside the back of an ambulance and close the doors.

We won't be getting a traditional match between Reigns and Strowman. It will be an all-out war. Because of this, it seems like Strowman has the stamina to outlast Reigns. In addition, Strowman has the strength that will deliver the pain that will result in him winning.

Our prediction: Braun Strowman wins

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe

(For the Universal Championship)

If you watch Raw, you've probably asked yourself at least once over the past few months, "Who is the Universal Champion?" The current champ, Brock Lesnar, isn't around all that much, which has left a great deal of airtime for Samoa Joe to fully develop as the #1 contender for the belt.

The buildup to this event has been phenomenal. The push for Samoa Joe is working fantastically, especially with Joe putting both Heyman and Lesnar in the coquina clutch. However, because they're building up Joe as an unstoppable force, that makes us think Brock will come out on top, but this will be a really close bout. There are also a lot of rumors stating Roman Reigns will win the belt at Summerslam. Personally, I'd rather see a rematch between Joe and Lesnar at the August PPV.

Our prediction: Brock Lesnar wins

Great Balls of Fire starts Sunday at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, with a Kickoff Show beginning at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT. Come back to GameSpot during the PPV for live updates of the results.

Dragon Ball FighterZ: All The Characters Confirmed (So Far)

By Matt Espineli on Jul 06, 2017 03:15 am

Let The BattleZ Begin

After much anticipation following its initial announcement, the Arc System Works-developed Dragon Ball fighting game has finally been revealed at Microsoft's E3 press conference. Titled Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game sports dynamic, fast-paced action with visuals that looks to capture the over-the-top aesthetic of the iconic anime series. But the bigger question now is: "Who's going to be in it?" We've compiled all the characters that have been confirmed so far.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, Blazblue). The game played on a 2D plane, but its characters are rendered in full-3D. It follows a 3v3 format similar to later entries of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and is slated for an early 2018 release.

For more about the game, check out our footage of the game in action, as well as our montage of every character intro and win quote so far.

Cell

Cell is one of the primary antagonists of the Androids arc, the third major saga in Dragon Ball Z. A mad scientist named Dr. Gero designed him to be the ultimate fighter by giving him numerous advantageous genetic traits and abilities.

Future Trunks

Future Trunks is Vegeta's and Bulma's son from an alternate timeline. While the couple eventually gave birth to him in the main timeline, this version of the character comes from an alternate era where the world was devastated by the Androids. Future Trunks first appeared in the aftermath of the Frieza Saga, having travelled back in time to warn the Z Fighters about the oncoming threat of the Androids, as well as to deliver medicine to Goku that would cure him of the heart disease he died from in the alternate timeline.

Frieza (Final Form)

Frieza is the emperor of the universe who's responsible for obliterating nearly the entire Saiyan race, which in turn caused the myriad conflicts present in Dragon Ball's earlier arcs. Frieza has a massive ego, believing that he is the most powerful life form in the universe.

Gohan

Gohan is the elder son of series protagonist Goku and his wife Chichi. While he shares his father's strength and courageous spirit, he tends to pull away from fighting and only resorts to it as a means of defending his family and friends.

Goku

Goku is the main protagonist of the entire Dragon Ball series. He's a Saiyan that was originally sent to Earth as an infant with a mission to destroy it. However, he ended up losing his memory not long after landing, which caused him to grow pure-hearted. Goku constantly trains hard to become a powerful fighter, which often results in him saving the universe in the process.

Innocent Buu

Innocent Buu is the first and the least evil of Majin Buu's forms. He's the result of Kid Buu (the original and pure form of Majin Buu) absorbing the Grand Supreme Kai.

Vegeta

Vegeta is the crown prince of the fallen Saiyan race. He first appeared as a villain, who worked alongside Frieza and his minions. However, he turned against the villainous emperor in favor of fighting alongside the Z fighters, all while striving to become the most powerful fighter in the universe.
