Best NYCC 2018 Cosplay -- Dragon Ball Super, Star Wars, Game Of Thrones, And More (Day 3)

By Array on Oct 07, 2018 09:00 am

We're in the third day of New York Comic-Con 2018 and the quality of cosplay continues to be exceptional. The show floor is packed with people representing some of the most beloved TV shows, anime, movies, comic, and video game franchises with eye-catching outfits.

On Day 3, we got to see a fair bit of Dragon Ball Super representation, with adults, teenagers, and even kids unleashing their inner Saiyans. Of course, it wouldn't be a Comic-Con without a healthy Marvel cosplay presence, and in this gallery you'll see both heroes (Spidey) and villains (Hobgoblin) making an appearance.

Back on the anime front, everyone's favourite barely-trying superhero Saitama--better known as the One Punch Man--can be spotted delivering a nice clean right-hand straight to a jaw. And there's some Naruto thrown in for good measure too. Beyond that, you'll find awesome costumes for Metroid, Game of Thrones, Batman, Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. If you haven't already seen them, make sure to check out our gallery of cosplay from NYCC 2018 Day 1 and Day 2, as there plenty of top notch costumes to see in those too.

Day 3 of NYCC 2018 has delivered some big news and previews too. Although it is yet to be released publicly, we got to check out the Hellboy trailer and wrote up our impressions, and if you're a Star Trek: Discovery fan, make sure to check out the trailer for Season 2, as it's teasing some exciting things for the upcoming series. The talk of the show, however, is Into the Spider-Verse, and watch us discuss what we learned about it here.

The Craziest, Rarest, And Most Expensive Funko Pops At NY Comic Con 2018

By Michael Rougeau on Oct 07, 2018 03:42 am

More glorious Funko Pop insanity at New York Comic Con 2018.

Earlier this year, we here at GameSpot Universe discovered all the most shockingly expensive Funko Pops for sale at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Naturally, now that New York Comic Con has come around once again, we were eager to recreate that journey--and not just for our benefit, as you lucky readers get to come along with us.

This week once again we were reminded that whether we're talking about Beanie Babies, Pokemon cards, or--of course--Funko Pops, there's always someone willing to pay more for a "holy grail" than what you might happen to consider reasonable. And once again, the results of our latest Comic-Con Funko Pop hunt were shocking and incredible.

Just how rare is rare when it comes to Funko Pops? As we discovered on this amazing journey, some Pops are rare because they were only ever released at a single event, while others were produced in hyper-limited quantities.

At the end of the day, these Funko Pops are just cheap chunks of colored plastic. Their only actual value is the imaginary worth we assign to them. But as with any popular collectible, that doesn't stop Pop hunters from dropping hundreds--and even thousands--of dollars on them. And in the end, if they bring someone happiness, isn't that worth it?

Read on to see discover the craziest, rarest, and most expensive Funko Pops we found at New York Comic Con 2018.
