Black Friday 2018 PUBG Deals (Xbox One)

By Alessandro Fillari on Nov 22, 2018 11:35 pm

With Black Friday nearly upon us, more and more deals have sprung up for the big sales week. Here, we're highlighting the available discounts for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, otherwise known as PUBG. Some deals are already live, so take a look below to see what to expect.

As of now, PUBG on Xbox One will have some sales at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart for less than $20. The lowest price is $15 at Best Buy and Target, though if you're willing to pay $18, you can simply download it straight from the Xbox Store.

Though other games like Fortnite have overtaken PUBG's former dominance in the growing field of free-for-all games, it's still a popular title and has a solid player base on both PC and Xbox One. With three different maps to fight it out on, and featuring many different types of skins, weapon decals, and other customization options--PUBG focuses a lot more on tactical gameplay compared to the Fortnite's more arcadey style action. The most recent event happening in the world of PUBG is a promotional tie-in featuring the Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

In our review of PUBG last year, editor Michael Higham gave it an 8 and stated: "PUBG's technical shortcomings can undermine its broader achievements on rare occasions, but they don't override your desire to continue playing. Each phase of a match presents a different type of tension that is equal parts thrilling and terrifying, driven by the insatiable desire to be the last person (or squad) standing. Whether you play solo or in a group, successfully executing adaptive tactics to win intense, high-stakes firefights makes for an incredibly rewarding experience. Every player has unique stories of their most memorable matches, and even after hundreds of hours, PUBG continues to inspire rousing tales of victory and defeat."

There's still many more deals coming in the time leading up to Black Friday. Remember, many of these until the time of Black Friday, so keep that in mind when you're sorting through these deals early. If you want to know more about what's coming up, be sure check out our roundup of Black Friday deals on GameSpot.

Best Black Friday 2018 God Of War PS4 Deals

By Alessandro Fillari on Nov 22, 2018 11:33 pm

It's that time of the year again when we round up the latest deals and discounts for many of the most impressive games released recently. Though Black Friday officially kicks off on November 23, a large amount of deals are already live since it's Thanksgiving Day. These including deals featuring God of War, the critically acclaimed action game from Sony Santa Monica. Better yet, some of those discounts are already available. As one of the PS4's most impressive games of 2018, this reboot of the over-the-top and grand action-adventure series kicks off a surprising heartfelt new story.

The Target ad for Black Friday 2018 led the way, confirming God of War will be on sale for $25. Since then, we've also gotten both Walmart and Best Buy ads, with both of those retailers offering the same discount. But if you like digital games, the PlayStation Store is the winner, with the price down to $22 right now. However, many of these sales won't be active until Black Friday sales begin on Thursday and Friday. Still, it's good to stay up on the latest games now before the rush begins.

Coming from Sony Santa Monica, the newest God of War game picks up many years after God of War III. Moving on from the setting of Ancient Greece, Kratos--the demi-god and son of Zeus--lives a life of solitude in a realm immersed in Norse mythology. As a single-player action-adventure game, it moved away slightly from the ultra-violence and schlocky style of the original games, telling a more personal story that dealt with fatherhood and coming to terms with your past--all while killing off monsters and other gods in gory fashion.

In our review of God Of War, managing editor Peter Brown gave it a 9 and stated: "In many ways God of War is what the series has always been. It's a spectacular action game with epic set pieces, big-budget production values, and hard-hitting combat that grows more feverish and impressive as you progress. What may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become. Like Kratos, God of War recalls the past while acknowledging the need to improve. Everything new it does is for the better, and everything it holds onto benefits as a result. Kratos is no longer a predictable brute. God of War is no longer an old-fashioned action series. With this reboot, it confidently walks a new path that will hopefully lead to more exciting adventures to come."

If you want to see where you can find these deals for God of War, then check out our roundup below. Expect many more deals to pop up in the days approaching Black Friday. As a reminder, these deals aren't active yet, so stick with GameSpot to see when you can take advantage of them and if more deals from other retailers come up.

Black Friday 2018 Deals For Forza Horizon 4 On Xbox One/PC

By Tamoor Hussain on Nov 22, 2018 11:31 pm

There aren't many racing franchises as reliable or consistent as Forza. The Forza Horizon series in particular offers tight and satisfying racing gameplay while setting it all in real-world (and open-world) locations that are picturesque and provide a variety of activities to engage in. The latest entry, Forza Horizon 4, is already a hot property when it comes to Black Friday deals, and now that Thanksgiving has come around, many discounts are available to take advantage of.

For those on the hunt for a good discount, there's a few options to consider, and most of them knock around $20 off the full price. First up, Best Buy has it priced at $30, which is currently the biggest discount that we've seen. Walmart, meanwhile, is offering the game for $35, and Target also has it for $35.

It's worth noting that these are all physical versions of the game, as opposed to digital codes. The Xbox Store sale is now live for Xbox Live Gold members, discounting a digital copy to $39. While pricier than its physical counterpart, this does come with the benefit of Play Anywhere, allowing you to access the game on both Xbox One and PC.

Forza Horizon 4 is also available through Xbox Game Pass, which is the Microsoft service that gives subscribers access to a selection of games for as long as they're a member. Although you won't outright own Forza Horizon 4, this is a way to play the game--alongside a bunch of others--for fairly cheap.

Forza Horizon 4 launched on October 2, and has held up the series' high standards, earning a 9/10 from GameSpot.

"There's such a diverse range of activities stuffed into every corner of Horizon 4, and meaningful changes contribute to smart driving dynamics and a more consistent sense of achievement," said Edmond Tran in his Forza Horizon 4 review.

"Everything you do in Horizon feels valuable, no matter how big or small--from the basic thrills of speeding a fast car down a gorgeous mountain highway to spending time tinkering with your favorite ride to manage seasonal road conditions to just hanging out with friends and strangers online and goofing off in friendly games. The charm of the Horizon series is as palpable as ever, a winning, all-inclusive recipe that celebrates the joy of driving above all else."

Pokemon Go's December Community Day Announced, Features Every Previous Pokemon

By Kevin Knezevic on Nov 22, 2018 11:30 pm

Pokemon Go developer Niantic has shared the first details on the game's next Community Day, but this one will be a little different from previous events. Rather than taking place on a single day, as most Community Days have, the next event will run for an entire weekend and give players another chance to capture all of the previously featured Pokemon.

The special Community Day weekend kicks off Friday, November 30, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET and runs until 11 PM PT on December 2 (2 AM ET on December 3). During this time, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Beldum, and all of the other Pokemon that were featured during a previous Community Day will reappear in greater numbers. Likewise, you'll have another opportunity to learn the special event-exclusive moves that were available during past Community Days.

No Caption Provided

On top of bringing back all of the previous featured Pokemon, Niantic is offering a handful of in-game bonuses during the Community Day weekend. As with a typical event, these will only be available during a three hour window of time, which will vary by region. This time, the bonuses include double the normal amount of XP and Stardust for capturing Pokemon, as well as double Incubator effectiveness. You can see when these will be live in each region below.

Niantic hosted the first Community Day back in January, and since then, the developer has held a new event for the game each month. Unlike other real-world Pokemon Go events, these typically only run for three hours, during which time you can find increased spawns of that month's featured Pokemon. You can also learn a special event-exclusive move if you meet a certain criteria before the event ends. You can check out our guides for all of the previous Community Day events below for more details on how to get these moves.

In addition to the upcoming Community Day, a new Legendary Pokemon is now available in Go. Cresselia, the Legendary Psychic-type introduced in the Gen 4 games Diamond and Pearl, will appear in Raid Battles until December 18. Niantic also recently rolled out a Special Research questline that revolves around the new Mythical Pokemon Meltan.

Pokemon Go Community Day Bonus Schedule

  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India: December 1, 2018, 10 AM - 1 PM UTC
  • The Americas and Greenland: December 1, 2018, 11 AM - 2 PM PST
  • Asia-Pacific: December 2, 2018, 12 PM - 3 PM JST

Best Black Friday 2018 Assassin's Creed Odyssey Deals For PS4, Xbox One, PC

By Chris Pereira on Nov 22, 2018 11:28 pm

Among the biggest game releases this year was Assassin's Creed Odyssey. That's true both in terms of its stature, coming as the latest game in a major franchise, and its sheer size--it's a long game with a staggeringly large map. (Seriously, it's jaw-dropping.) Despite having only released in October, Odyssey is among the games you'll find on sale this Black Friday when it begins on November 23. And at some retailers, Ubisoft's title is actually already on sale.

Currently, GameStop has the lowest price on Assassin's Creed Odyssey, dropping it all the way down to $27, but you have to go into a brick-and-mortar store to get it. At Target, it will be $35 for a physical copy of the game on both PS4 and Xbox One, a price we've since seen matched in the Walmart ad. However, the next best price so far comes from Best Buy, where Odyssey will cost only $30.

If you want a digital copy of Odyssey, both the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store will have it for $40. Some physical retailers may even offer the digital version, as we saw with Walmart last year. There is at least one PC deal, as Steam and the Uplay store drops it to $40.

Odyssey was well received upon its release, further building on the RPG shift the series took with 2017's Origins. It allows you to play as a male or female protagonist as you choose between the siblings Alexios and Kassandra. The aforementioned large world map is comprised of many landmasses, but there's also plenty of sea for some Black Flag-style naval action.

In our Assassin's Creed Odyssey review, Alessandro Fillari wrote that the game's "ambition is admirable, which is reflected in its rich attention to detail for the era and its approach to handling the multi-faceted narrative with strong protagonists at the lead, While its large-scale campaign--clocking in at over 50 hours--can occasionally be tiresome, and some features don't quite make the impact they should, Odyssey makes great strides in its massive and dynamic world, and it's a joy to venture out and leave your mark on its ever-changing setting."

Ubisoft has plans for both free and paid DLC for Odyssey, as the company hopes to keep you playing long-term; there won't be a new Assassin's Creed game released in 2019.

Below you'll find the complete list of Black Friday deals on Odyssey. It's quite brief for now, but we'll continue to update this as more ads are revealed.

FIFA 19's Best Black Friday 2018 UK Deals For PS4, Xbox One, Switch, And PC

By Oscar Dayus on Nov 22, 2018 11:27 pm

Black Friday craziness is almost upon us. Just a little while longer and you'll be happily shopping for bargains, grabbing TVs off strangers and elbowing your way to the checkout. Fortunately, a number of early Black Friday deals have gone live online, so you can get all the satisfaction of saving money from the comfort of your own living room. With that in mind, let's see what FIFA 19 deals are going right now in the UK.

Specialist retailer Game seems the obvious place to start, and the chain is selling the standard edition of FIFA 19 on PS4 and Xbox One for £40, while the Switch version is £35. Amazon UK, meanwhile, is currently selling the game for £34 on PS4/Xbox One/PC and just £29 on Switch.

If you're looking for in-store offers, Smyths lets you pick up your online order from any of its high street shops for no extra cost. The toy retailer lists FIFA 19 at £38 on PS4/Xbox One and £30 on Switch. Supermarket Asda is another bricks-and-mortar option, and it's selling EA's football phenomenon for £34 on PS4/Xbox One and £29 on Switch. You can also pick up the Champions Edition--which comes with a selection of FUT packs and items--for £52 or £44 on those consoles, respectively.

Finally, let's look at download options. The PlayStation Store's Black Friday sale has the PS4 version discounted to £34.19, while the Champions Edition is still full price at £80. Microsoft's Xbox Store, meanwhile, lists the standard edition for £42, or £36 for Xbox Live Gold members. The Champions Edition and Ultimate Edition (which comes with even more FUT packs) are still full price unless you're a Gold subscriber, in which case they'll set you back £48 or £54, respectively.

On PC, EA's Origin Store is discounting digital versions of FIFA 19 by 40%, meaning the standard, Champions, or Ultimate Editions can be bought for £33, £42, or £48, respectively. Finally, Nintendo's eShop is not offering any kind of promotion on FIFA 19, so you're stuck with the full-fat £55 price tag there.

Fortnite's New 6.30 Update Adds Dynamite, Wild West LTM; Patch Notes Released

By Oscar Dayus on Nov 22, 2018 11:27 pm

Epic Games has released a new update for Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, and it's a pretty big one. Update 6.30 adds a new weapon, the Dynamite stick, as well as a new LTM named Wild West. In addition, the patch adds a new Ghost Pistol weapon for Save the World.

Wild West, as the name suggests, restricts the weapon and item selection to those that might be used by cowboys and cowgirls. That means you can use the Hunting Rifle, Pump Shotgun, Double Barrel Shotgun, Six Shooter, and Minigun only. Dynamite, the new throwable, is usable in the mode, except Epic says it has temporarily disabled the item while it investigates "an increase in client crashes."

Assuming Dynamite returns to action soon, it appears to be a formidable new tool. It deals 70 damage to players and 800 to structures, and is only available in uncommon rarity. It can be found in stacks of three from floor loot, chests, Vending Machines, Supply Llamas, and Supply Drops.

Update 6.30's final new significant addition is the Ghost Pistol, a Save the World-exclusive weapon that can shoot through structures. Take a look at all the details and more in the patch notes below, via Epic.

Black Friday 2018 Xbox One X Deals: Cheapest Places To Buy The Console

By Jordan Ramée on Nov 22, 2018 11:27 pm

Black Friday is nearly upon us, so both current iterations of Microsoft's Xbox One--the Xbox One S and Xbox One X--will be seeing a variety of discounts and bundles. The more expensive Xbox One X, which normally goes for $500, will see some particularly nice offers, including a few that are live right now. So, before Black Friday kicks off tomorrow, it's worth scoping out any offers you want to make use of and planning your attack.

All of the Xbox One X discounts on Black Friday 2018 that we've spotted so far are outlined below. Best Buy has one of the best offers at $430, which gets you a special Battlefield V bundle. This consists of a special-edition Xbox One console, Battlefield V, Battlefield 1: Revolution, and Battlefield 1943, plus an additional controller. This bundle is live right now for My Best Buy members.

Ebay had some especially good deals that have now either expired or raised in price. There's still a $440 NBA 2K19 bundle; alternatively, $422 gets you the system on its own. Ebay also says it'll have more deals on the console later in the week.

Another very nice deal comes from Kohl's, where the console is being sold with a digital copy of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and a $120 Kohl's cash card for $400.

We've listed all the sales for each store in case you need a back-up plan, and will update this article if more deals are announced. Just remember when stores open and close for Black Friday so you can take advantage of the deal you want.

The One X is the most powerful version of the Xbox One, possessing faster load times and playing games with enhanced framerates. It also renders certain games natively in 4K. The One X is much smaller than other Xbox One consoles and--like the One S--can be stored and played horizontally and doesn't have a massive power brick, so it doesn't take up much space.

The Xbox One X can also bring the most out of X-enhanced games, which are titles specifically designed or patched to have smoother performances on One X. These include newer titles--like Forza Horizon 4, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Mass Effect Andromeda--and older games as well, such as Halo 3, Portal 2, and Mirror's Edge. To take full advantage of X-enhanced games, you'll want to hook your Xbox One X up to a 4K TV, which are also on sale this Black Friday.

Best Black Friday 2018 Deals: Cheapest TVs This Year

By Mat Elfring on Nov 22, 2018 11:24 pm

Electronics and television giant Samsung has a fair few Black Friday deals on televisions for the retail event, which is set to kick off on Friday, November 23. Black Friday is a time where the people of the United States invade retail stores like the Chitauri entering New York City. Shoppers are looking for the best deals on everything from video games to electronics to this year's hottest items, in hopes of getting their Christmas presents for cheap.

For many people, this is the perfect time to buy a new television, as most retailers have some pretty deep discounts on all their TVs during this time. Whether you're looking for a huge new 4K smart TV or something smaller and cheaper to give away as a gift, stores like Best Buy, Target, Kohl's, Meijer, and more have them available for the upcoming Black Friday.

There are a few 65" televisions available this Black Friday, three of which can be found at Target. Two of these are from Samsung, both of which are 4K and smart TVs. One is $650 and the curved one is $800. Additionally, there is an LG 4K smart TV for $750. All of these are doorbuster deals, so it's first come, first served when Target opens on on Thursday, November 22 at 5PM. The store will close at 1AM on Friday, November 23, then re-open at 7AM that morning. However, you may want to check with your local stores, as times may vary.

If you are in the market for something small and cheap, there are a few HDTVs for under $200. At Meijer, there is a Element 55" Smart Roku 4K UHD TV for $200; however, it's part of the store's doorbuster deals, so supplies will be limited, but the deals will be good Thursday, November 22 at 6 AM-Friday, November 23. Again, check with your local stores to see if opening times vary.

Check out all the TV deals from this year's Black Friday circulars, so far. If you're on the lookout for more huge deals, check out our round-up of all the Black Friday specials.

Black Friday 2018 Deals At Walmart: TVs, Tech, And More

By Mat Elfring on Nov 22, 2018 11:23 pm

A price war is raging inside the hearts of American consumers. The only way to quench it is by crashing the gates of retail stores and spending coin on precious legendary items at a deep discount. Don't worry, these feelings will all be purged from your system on November 23, when Black Friday officially begins. Enjoy Thanksgiving, because tomorrow is when retailers across the country offer discounted prices on many items, including televisions. Since Walmart is one of the big players during this event, things are going to get heated.

Walmart recently revealed its deals in a circular that outlines what you can expect this upcoming Black Friday, which includes some deep discounts on games. If you're in the market for a new television, Walmart has a few brand-name and off-brand products at discounted prices. Both TCL and RCA have 65" 4K TVs available for roughly $400, but the RCA is not a smart TV. Luckily, you can make a quick upgrade by picking up the Google Mini and Chromecast bundle for $45. Additionally, this Walmart-exclusive bundle comes with a $15 credit to the streaming service Vudu, so you can rent a few movies or buy one as soon as everything is up and running.

Walmart has some deals on tablets as well. If you're in the market for a new iPad, you can pick up a 6th Gen, 32GB one for $249. Also, a 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab will be on sale for $129. But if you're short on cash and really want a tablet, there is the 16GB RCA Voyager III for $28.

Many deals will be available online on Wednesday, November 21 starting at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT, while the in-store shopping kicks off on Thursday, November 22 at 6 PM, locally. Make sure to check with your local Walmart as hours may vary. We've also rounded up when all the Black Friday sales start.

Below you'll find the list of some of Walmart's best Black Friday deals in TV and tech. You can click the links for more information about most of the products. However, remember that it's first come, first served for these items, which are limited. So if you're planning on getting these deals, you may as well storm the gates with everyone else.

Black Friday 2018 Deals At Walmart: Movies And TV Shows

By Mat Elfring on Nov 22, 2018 11:22 pm

Black Friday is only a day away now, taking place Friday, November 23. Walmart has released its circular for the retail holiday, and it contains hundreds of physical copies of moves and television shows--along with TVs--for exceptionally low prices. Of course, you'll need to make the trek to the store to take advantage of them.

There will be hundreds of movies on sale during the event. In the circular, Walmart only listed a small portion of what will be available in store. It states over 110 movies will be priced at $2, 180 at $4, 70 at $6, 30 at $8, 50 at $9, and 90 at $10. The selection will be very wide for the Black Friday event, but there is a limited stock, so you'll want to get to your local Walmart early to pick these up. Luckily, Marvel movies are on sale at a number of stores.

From the $2 items listed on site, there isn't anything exceptionally notable, aside from the original Jumanji on DVD. There were, however, a couple decent selections on Blu-ray in the $4 category: Spider-Man: Homecoming and Home Alone. Walmart is also discounting a few movies in 4K to under $10 like Wonder Woman, Deadpool 2, and Rampage. You can also pick up this year's Mission Impossible: Fallout for only $8, but keep in mind, this is a digital code for Vudu and not a physical copy.

Many of these deals, including games, will be available online on Wednesday, November 21 starting at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT, while the in-store shopping kicks off on Thursday, November 22 at 6 PM, locally. Walmart will not be closing during the early morning hours. However, make sure to check with your local Walmart as hours may vary.

Below is the full list of the DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K movies listed in the Walmart Black Friday ad. This is not the complete list, but if more get added, this list will be updated.

Black Friday 2018 Deals At Target: TV Shows And Movies (Blu-ray, 4K, DVD)

By Mat Elfring on Nov 22, 2018 11:20 pm

With just one day until Black Friday, it's time to get your shopping plans in order. With the downtime you're more than likely to have this holiday season, wouldn't you like to have something to watch? Target has revealed its Black Friday deals, which includes video games and TVs, and the circular has plenty of huge deals on movies and TV series. You can check out Target's full ad here, but we've gone through and picked out some items that may be of some interest to you.

Most of these items are available online as well as in the stores. If you're planning on making the journey with the masses to a local Target, the doors open at 5 PM on Thursday, November 22 and will stay open until 1 AM on Friday, November 23. During this time, Target will more than likely restock the shelves and its employees will try and regain their sanity. The store will re-open at 7 AM that morning on Friday. Hours may vary depending on location. It's first come, first served for the items and there will be limited quantities for everything in the Target ad, though you'll have other places you can also visit for Marvel movie deals.

If you're one of the people that still buys physical copies of your movies and TV series, then this sale will be right up your alley. Target has plenty of new and old DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K discs on sale for $4 and $9 as part of the doorbusters promotion. Please don't take the term "doorbuster" literally though. That's destruction of property and totally illegal. Out of all these doorbuster sales, you'll probably want to pick up Spider-Man: Homecoming on 4K for $9 or Lego Batman on Blu-ray for $4.

If you're looking for TV series to binge through, Target has full seasons on sale for $10. For Blu-ray, you can pick up Season 8 of The Walking Dead or Season 3 of Rick and Morty. On DVD, seasons of Game of Thrones, The Flash, and Westworld are all on sale for $10 as well.

Check out the full list of Target's sales on movies and TV series below. More may be added to the Black Friday list, so we'll keep you updated if there are any changes.

This God Of War Black Friday 2018 Deal At Amazon US Is Unmissable

By Tamoor Hussain on Nov 22, 2018 10:10 pm

Black Friday 2018 may officially begin tomorrow but the deals have been rolling in for days now. If you've had your eye on the recent God of War reboot for PlayStation 4, now is the time to strike as Amazon has it for just $17. Ordinarily, God of War would retail for $40, which means you're saving yourself a cool $23--enough to buy another game in a Black Friday sale.

Developed by Sony Santa Monica, God of War takes place many years after the original series that began on PlayStation 2. Serving as a reboot of sorts, it reconnects players with a Kratos that has changed in many profound ways. The Spartan warrior has put his god slaying days behind him and is now raising a son. However, the consequences of his past begin to catch up with him, and Kratos must deal with these while ensuring his son doesn't follow in his footsteps.

In GameSpot's God of War review, Peter Brown awarded the game a 9/10. "[God of War is] a spectacular action game with epic set pieces, big-budget production values, and hard-hitting combat that grows more feverish and impressive as you progress," he said.

"What may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become.

Naturally, God of War is a hot property this Black Friday, so numerous retailers are offering discounts on the title. While none come close to the price Amazon is currently offering it, there are options to save money at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and the PlayStation Store. Check out our full God of War Black Friday deals roundup for more on those. For a broader look at what's on offer during Black Friday, the list below is handy on zeroing in on the deals you're after.

Black Ops 4 Best Black Friday Sales -- $37 Right Now (PS4 And Xbox One)

By Alessandro Fillari on Nov 22, 2018 10:10 pm

Black Friday 2018 is just a day away now, but we already know most of deals that will be available, and many of them are live now. One of those is for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the latest game in the unstoppable shooter series. In addition to featuring the traditional multiplayer and zombies modes, Treyarch's newest entry debuted the franchise's first jump into the battle royale craze with Blackout, which is among the game's most well-received offerings.

We first saw Black Ops 4 pop up in the Target ad for $45, but it turns out it won't have the cheapest way to buy the game. Best Buy ($45), Walmart ($40), and PlayStation Store ($48) have also been released. But it's currently GameStop where you can expect to get the price at $38--although you have to go into a physical store to get that deal. As of the time of this post, these Black Friday deals are not yet available, so going to these sites now will only show the current retail price. However, once Black Friday rolls around, you'll be able to claim these titles at a discounted price. [Update: Walmart has not only taken its deal live early, it's undercut GameStop--you can buy it for $37 on both PS4 and Xbox One right now.]

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is no doubt one of the more experimental entries in recent years, yet it still offered a satisfying package to dive into. While last year's World War II was well received, Black Ops 4 offered a larger focus on giving players new ways to experience COD gameplay across its key gameplay pillars, which includes multiplayer, zombies--featuring multiple storylines and levels--the new Blackout battle royale game type, and a light story mode focusing on each of the playable Specialists.

Reviews editor Kallie Plagge gave the game an 8 in our review of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and stated: "Black Ops 4 isn't short on content, and its three main modes are substantial. Multiplayer introduces more tactical mechanics without forcing you into them, and it largely strikes a good balance. Zombies has multiple deep, secret-filled maps to explore, though its returning characters don't hold up and prove distracting. Finally, Blackout pushes Call of Duty in an entirely new direction, making use of aspects from both multiplayer and Zombies for a take on the battle royale genre that stands on its own. Sure, there isn't a traditional single-player campaign, but with the depth and breadth of what is there, Black Ops 4 doesn't need it."

Here are the links to the deals you can find on Target, and we'll update this post with any other deals that come in from other retailers. If you're at all curious about World War II, there is also a planned Target deal for Call of Duty: WWII as well for $25. Again, not all of these deals will go live till Black Friday, which takes place on November 23. Be sure to check back with GameSpot and other deals going live sometime later.

Spider-Man PS4 Best Black Friday 2018 Deals: Get It For $40 Now

By Chris Reed on Nov 22, 2018 10:08 pm

With Black Friday nearly upon us, it's no surprise we're seeing lots of great deals on video games swinging in. But what is surprising is how much you can save on games that came out just a month or two ago. If the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man has been on your wishlist or gift list, now is the time to grab it, because it's on sale for a great price at several retailers right now, and you're not likely to find it cheaper anytime soon.

Spider-Man launched on September 7 exclusively for PlayStation 4. Made by veteran PlayStation developer Insomniac Games, the company behind the Ratchet & Clank series, it has received almost universally high marks from critics and players alike.

GameSpot scored Spider-Man 9/10, with Edmond Tran writing, "The feeling of embodying Spidey and using his abilities is astonishing, and the time spent on exploring its major characters help make its story feel heartfelt, despite superhero bombast. There have been open-world Spider-Man games before, but none so riveting and full of personality, none that explore and do justice to this many facets of the universe. Insomniac has created a superior Spider-Man experience that leaves a lasting impression, one that has you longing for just one more swing around New York City, even after the credits roll." You can read more in our Spider-Man PS4 review.

The post-release content for Spider-Man includes three DLC episodes. Two are available now, and the final episode is due out in December.

You can find many more Black Friday PS4 deals here, including big discounts on consoles, games, services, and accessories. Or, if you have a PS4 owner on your shopping list this holiday, you can check out our gift guide for PS4 games and our PS4 accessories gift guide.

We've got less than two weeks to go until Black Friday, and we're tracking sales as they come out and continually updating our lists. Be aware that retailers may sell out of products at any point during sales. Certain deals may also be offered in-store only; be sure to check the conditions for sales you're looking at. Black Friday 2018 Fallout 76 Deals For PS4, Xbox One, PC

By Alessandro Fillari on Nov 22, 2018 10:03 pm

Black Friday 2018 doesn't kick off until November 23, but that's just a day away so many deals are already live. To help you get the best prices on games and hardware, we've rounded up some major deals for people to take advantage of. Coming off the heels of the recent launch of Fallout 76, the series' first attempt at an online game, several retailers have already put the PC, PS4, and Xbox One releases up for discount just in time for Black Friday.

As of right now, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart will have the game up for sale during Black Friday. While most deals aren't currently active, you'll be able to plan ahead by keeping track of which retailers have the kind of deals you want. GameStop will have the standard game for $40, with the Tricentennial release dropping to $60 (from $80). The Xbox Store has matched that discount on the base game; it's on sale right now.

Best Buy will have all three versions of Fallout 76 up for Black Friday with some special bundles. Though both the PS4 and Xbox One releases will be still be normal retail price at $60, they'll come packed with a special Vault Boy keychain. Meanwhile, the PC release will be bundled with a Blackout Yeti mic for $100. Walmart will also have the game up for sale, discounting their retailer-exclusive steelbook edition for $60. Green Man Gaming, meanwhile, has Fallout 76 on PC for $36 when you sign in and redeem a voucher. For those in the UK, the game is available for £35.

Fallout 76 is a bit different compared to Bethesda's previous efforts with Fallout 3 and 4. As an online survival game, you'll focus more on surviving the elements while also staying a few steps ahead of other enemies and rival players while exploring the expansive map of Appalachia. Instead of a traditional Fallout narrative, with your choices and decisions will leaving drastic consequences on the state of the world and all the characters in it, 76 places more of an emphasis on the moment-to-moment plot with your character simply trying to survive in the irradiated wilderness of West Virginia.

Though our final review isn't up yet, editor Edmond Tran offered up some early impressions with the game so far: "Fallout 76 attempts to pull off some significantly new ideas for the series, but with few exceptions, they notably diminish many aspects of the game. Multiplayer is fun, but it's not an ideal way to enjoy questing, and the shooting mechanics aren't strong enough to make combat-heavy activities enjoyable for long periods. Things feel better as a solo experience, but the lack of in-universe characters makes becoming emotionally invested in the world and your goals difficult."

Black Friday 2018 will kick into high-gear later this week. Again, many of these deals aren't active just yet, so be sure to keep tabs on the deals that interest you the most. In addition to Fallout 76, Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, God of War, and Black Ops 4 will also be on discount for this week. For more info on Black Friday 2018, be sure to check out our other highlights and roundup of other deals on GameSpot.

Black Friday 2018 PS4 Console Deals: Best & Cheapest Places To Buy A PlayStation 4

By Chris Pereira on Nov 22, 2018 10:02 pm

Those in the market for a PS4 are in luck: Black Friday is officially a day away. But you don't have to wait as this week has already brought with it a pretty nice bundle. Alongside early deals from places like Best Buy (for My Best Buy members), retailers have taken certain deals online, including those on PS Plus and PS4. If you're interested in a PS4, that means you don't have to wait or deal with the lines on Black Friday--you can get a $200 PS4 with a bonus game right now.

Sony's official Black Friday promotions on PS4 essentially lays out what the early ads and deals from stores are offering. When it comes to PS4 itself, the big deal is a $200 bundle including a 1 TB console and a copy of Marvel's Spider-Man. You'll find an identical sale at Best Buy, Walmart, and a number of other retailers, and they're all live right now--even Target, which labeled this as a doorbuster in its ad.

You could argue that $200 would be a nice price for the system alone, but to get a $60 game that was just released in September makes it even sweeter. Unfortunately, those looking for a PS4 Pro have far fewer options; there is a $405 Spider-Man bundle on Ebay as of this writing, but little beyond that.

If you're waiting for other deals, many stores will actually open on Thanksgiving Day, and as noted above, Best Buy early access has already begun. We're sure to see more deals pop up for PS4, and we'll continue to update this post as they emerge.

On the games side, we've already seen confirmed discounts for some of PS4's biggest games of the year, including God of War, NBA 2K19, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. We'll be hunting for deals all month long, so be sure to check back with us as more Black Friday ads are revealed, and check out our roundup of PS4 deals.

Rakuten is offering the Xbox One version of the game for $40 on its website. You'll need to have an account and ensure you're logged in first, and then apply the discount code BF20 to see the price drop.

Physical retailers are selling the game at full price but with a bonus item. At Best Buy, the Black Friday deal comes with RDR2 and a special collapsible cup. At Walmart, the Black Friday deal is for the store's exclusive steelbook edition. In our Red Dead Redemption 2 review, Kallie Plagge gave the game a 9/10, writing, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."

Red Dead Redemption 2 is only available for Xbox One and PS4.

Black Friday 2018 Walmart Gaming Deals: $37 Black Ops 4, $200 PS4/Xbox One, And More Game Deals

By Chris Reed on Nov 22, 2018 09:36 pm

Black Friday is almost here. The annual shopping event officially launches on November 23, but many Black Friday deals have actually started. That includes at least a select number at Walmart, and while we've gotten its Black Friday ad already, some things will be even cheaper on the day. Case in point: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was listed for $40, but as of this writing, it's down to $37 on PS4 and Xbox One. Below, we've rounded up the games, consoles, and accessories for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch that the retailer plans to have on sale. We've also put together a look at Walmart's best Black Friday deals.

The mega retailer will have a deal on nearly every console on the market (with PS4 Pro being the notable absence, as it's on sale seemingly nowhere). You'll be able to get a PS4 Slim 1TB with Spider-Man for $199--a deal that's already live right now. The Xbox One S Minecraft Creators Bundle will be marked down to $199, and you'll be able to save $100 on an Xbox One X, bringing the price down to $399. Nintendo Switch will still cost $299, but you'll get a free copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the purchase. Finally, Nintendo 2DS with Super Mario Maker will be $79. These deals fall in line with the official Black Friday promotions announced by Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, though Walmart (like Sam's Club) hacks off an extra dollar.

When it comes to games, it might be quicker to list the ones that won't be on sale. There will be tons of great deals, making Black Friday a good time to grab anything you've had an eye on recently. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be marked down to $40, which is $5 cheaper than it will be at Target and Best Buy. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is dipping to $35, as is Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection. And while they're not getting discounts, Walmart is offering exclusive steelbook versions of Fallout 76 and Red Dead Redemption 2 for $60 each.

And for once, Nintendo Switch owners won't be left out in the cold. While Nintendo's big games rarely go on sale, Walmart will be offering Black Friday discounts on a good number of them. For $35 each, you'll be able to get Arms, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Kirby Star Allies, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, among others.

As with many other retailers, Walmart isn't waiting until Friday to begin offering its discounts. The deals begin at 6 PM local time on Thursday, November 22 (Thanksgiving in the US). Online shoppers will get access to the discounts even earlier; Black Friday deals at Walmart.com will start on Wednesday, November 21 at 10 PM ET (7 PM PT).

You can find the full list of discounted items for each platform below. And if you want to see all the other items Walmart will have on sale, check out the full Walmart Black Friday ad.
