The full trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story has arrived. Following the short teaser released during the Super Bowl last night, this new promo reveals plot details and some new characters alongside amazing action and snappy dialogue.
The trailer opens with a voiceover in which Han explains that he spent his childhood runing scams and getting into trouble, before declaring that he hopes to be "the greatest pilot in the galaxy." We learn that Woody Harrelson's character, Beckett, is putting together a team, which includes Chewie and Lando, and we see a variety of new alien, robot, and human characters. There's an exchange with Emilia Clarke's Qi'Ra, who claims that she knows who Solo "really is," and an exciting final sequence in which Han outruns some TIE Fighters in the Falcon but then encounters something much scarier. Check out above.
Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Emilia Clarke also star. It hits theaters on May 25, 2018. We've also got a full Solo trailer breakdown here.
The movie has had a bit of troubled production, with director Ron Howard taking over duties from Chris Miller and Phil Lord in June 2017. There have been rumors that Howard has reshot a lot more of the film than initially expected, and at least one role had to be recast, with Paul Bettany replacing Michael K. Williams. Bettany himself commented in the issue, and said that Howard "reshot a lot more than was originally intended."
Donald Glover, who plays Lando in the movie, last month stated that despite the lengthy production, little about the film altered after Howard came on board. "It didn't really [change]," he said. "I think we were never faced with anything like that and [Howard] did a good job of coming in and didn't want us to change what we were doing at all. He wanted us to be comfortable with our vision."

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has made a movie career on doing spectacular things and the trailer for his next film, Skyscraper, shows he's not about to stop. In the 45-second video he's shown scaling the outside of a massive crane, standing atop it, and leaping towards a skyscraper.
The film casts the wrestler turned movie star as Will Ford, a former FBI hostage rescue team leader and war veteran, who now lives life assessing security for skyscrapers. However, things take a turn for the worst when a building in China catches fire and he's blamed as the culprit. If that wasn't bad enough, his family are also trapped in the building. As you can imagine, he's on a mission to rescue his family and clear his name.
Skyscraper is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, We're the Millers) and produced by Beau Flynn (San Andreas, Baywatch). Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, and Kevin Ranking star alongside Johnson in the film, which will hit screens in the summer.
Super Bowl LII saw the release of a trailer for Fallout--not Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG, but the next instalment in the long-running Mission: Impossible franchise. You can watch the trailer above. It opens with the famous lines: "Your mission, should you choose to accept it," as we get slow shots of epic vistas and blood dripping from barbed wire, and continues ominously with "I wonder, did you ever choose not to?"
We discover that the narration is being addressed directly to protagonist Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) with a warning that the end he feared is coming, and blood will be on his hands. Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) is then heard speaking to Hunt as he sets up the premise: Hunt had previously made a difficult choice that put the world at risk.
We're treated to brief glimpses of action, as well as series mainstays Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg). We then see Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) warning Hunt that he's in way over his head, and cut to a chase scene in the streets of Paris, a watery predicament, and a rock-climbing escapade gone wrong.
The Mission: Impossible theme song then kicks in to accompany a bathroom brawl and we get more peeks at the film's over-the-top action scenes. Ving Rhames closes the trailer out by exclaiming "Same old Ethan" as we see Tom Cruise perform wild helicopter stunts, jump between buildings, and get into vehicular accidents.
Mission Impossible: Fallout hits theaters on July 27, 2018. We previously got a look at its poster, and a tease of some of the insane stunts we saw in this trailer. Director Christopher McQuarrie already stated that it would be an "emotional journey" for Ethan Hunt, saying " I want an emotional journey for this character, and Tom (Cruise) really embraced it."

The latest entry in the Cloverfield series made a brief appearance at the Super Bowl, where a short teaser for the flick was shown revealing it's called The Cloverfield Paradox and it will be available to stream on Netflix now.
The teaser recalled the event that kicked off the franchise, when a strange being arrived on Earth 10 years ago. The new film promises that viewers will "find out why." The teaser features what looks to be strange futuristic machinery charging some sort of laser, and also shots of people on a spaceship. Both of these things line up with previous reports that the film, before it was part of the Cloverfield universe, was set on an international space station where an experimental particle accelerator makes the Earth disappear.
In the teaser a character played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw says, "Whatever you're doing, stop!" just before a space station is shown exploding. There's also some other really weird stuff happening, most notably a dismembered arm crawling towards the crew of the ship, as if possessed. Check out the trailer above, and read more about it in our Cloverfield Paradox review.
The Cloverfield Paradox originally started off as a movie called God Particle and was written by Oren Uziel. In 2017, Uziel noted that some work had to be done to refit the movie so it'd work in the Cloverfield universe. "We rewrote during production, but I'm not sure what it means to be part of the expanded Cloverfield universe, other than knowing what kind of quality and feel you're gonna get from something that's coming out of Bad Robot and JJ," he said.
The first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been released, giving us a look at the upcoming Han Solo origin movie. The trailer made its debut during the Super Bowl and shows a young Han signing up to be a pilot. In typical Han fashion he confidently proclaims that he's going to be the "best in the galaxy."
The trailer clocks in at just under a minute and gives us fleeting glimpses at its star-studded cast, which includes Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who plays a character called Qira. Also making an appearance is Donald Glover, who plays a young Lando Calrissian and is sporting a rather ostentatious fur coat. Woody Harrelson also pops up to deliver a quick but charming wave.
Tying it all together are high-octane shots of soaring ships, exploding trucks,, twisting trains, and a Star Destroyer lurking ominously in some clouds. Perhaps most excitingly though there's a quick glimpse of Han's iconic ship, the Millennium Falcon. Watch it out above, or check out our Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer breakdown.

Universal Pictures revealed the second official trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as part of Super Bowl LII. The trailer, which you can see above, begins with a haunting rendition of the iconic Jurassic Park theme, accompanied by a sinister claw tapping ominously and creeping up on a terrified child in her bedroom.
A voiceover begins to talk about the miracle of seeing dinosaurs for the first time, as we see Chris Pratt's character interact with a baby raptor, a volcano exploding, and Justice Smith's (of The Get Down) character looking up at a bipedal dino getting airlifted off an island.
We then see Bryce Dallas Howard (Spider-Man 3, The Twilight Saga) and Smith encounter a Tyrannosaurus, Pratt taming a raptor, and an explosive chase off the edge of a cliff in a gyrosphere. The voiceover goes to explain that Jurassic Park and the island is in the past, and we're now looking towards the future, while we witness shots of Chris Pratt taking care of what is presumably the same raptor as we previously saw, and the crew running away from explosions and dinosaurs.
We then get a hint of what's to come as we see a silhouette of an unidentified creature, and the crew's now-loyal friendly raptor pouncing at it. More shots of giant dino teeth follow before we see an antagonistic human get charged while trying to hold Pratt's crew.
Back in December we got a few plot details about Fallen Kingdom, discovering that it revolves around Bryce Dallas Howard's character establishing a dinosaur protection group, who enlist the help of Pratt's character to get dinosaurs off the island.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released on June 22, and is directed by Spanish director J.A. Bayona, while Jurassic Park director Steven Speilberg serves as an executive producer.

It came as a massive surprise in the middle of the Super Bowl. The first trailer for a brand new Cloverfield movie played during a commercial break early in the Super Bowl, only for the movie to drop on Netflix as soon as the game came to an end.
The Cloverfield Paradox is the third entry in the franchise, following Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane, and attempts to answer some of the questions about how the original monster movie happened. As it turns out, though, the results are a bit of a mixed bag. The reviews are a bit less mixed. While there are a few critics that seemed to legitimately enjoy the movie, regardless of its flaws, the vast majority of those that took in the movie after the big game seem to view it as a miss.
With an average score of 40 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic, The Cloverfield Paradox is tracking far lower than both Cloverfield (64) and 10 Cloverfield Lane (76). Take a look at a sampling of reviews below to get an idea of the movie's critical reception.
Movie: The Cloverfield Paradox
Studio: Paramount and Netflix
Where you can watch: Netflix
Release: February 5
GameSpot
"The Cloverfield Paradox starts out riffing on the early structure of movies like Alien and The Thing, with some cursory efforts to establish personalities and relationships for its half dozen or so characters. They're all basically interchangeable by the end, and you'll be hard pressed to remember most of their names by the time the credits roll." -- Michael Rougeau [Full review]
IGN
"Some of the more absurd moments would play better if the film never left Paradox's space station. 10 Cloverfield Lane maintained tension by not leaving its core setting, but Paradox occasionally heads back to Earth. There, the world is under siege by something that will look quite familiar to Cloverfield fans. These scenes, told from the point of view of one of the space station member's significant others, distract more than add to the story. They feel included to offer winks and nods to Cloverfield fans but not to tell a compelling, concurrent story." -- Jonathon Dornbush [Full review]
Nerdist
"At its best, The Cloverfield Paradox is a fantastically tense locked room mystery in space, playing off complex concepts like quantum entanglement theory. In its weaker moments, it's a solid sci-fi that leans heavily into the giants who've walked before it, whether it's the suspicion and paranoia of The Thing or the brutal industrial body horror of Tetsuo the Iron Man. The film's true strength comes from its vision and incredibly strong cast." -- Rosie Knight [Full review]
Collider
"After the initial excitement dies down, you'll see that Julius Onah's The Cloverfield Paradox is a tepid, predictable, and largely uninteresting sci-fi film where dumb characters do dumb things and bad things happen because the script needs them to. It's a movie that's not particularly scary, interesting, or deep, but it does have good actors performing admirably." -- Matt Goldberg [Full review]
The Hollywood Reporter
"A trainwreck of a sci-fi flick bent on extending a franchise that should have died a peaceful death almost exactly one decade ago, Julius Onah's The Cloverfield Paradox follows the lead of the far-superior 10 Cloverfield Lane in imagining a Cloverfield spinoff whose genre ingredients have little to do with the original found-footage, giant-monster flick." -- John DeFore [Full review]
Paste Magazine
"[When] The Cloverfield Paradox is firing on all cylinders, especially in its second act, it's not quite like anything else I've ever seen. Gory and harrowing, but simultaneously propped up by a streak of deadpan gallows humor (especially from Chris O'Dowd), it revels in its freedom to do whatever it wants without ever stopping to consider the need for an explanation." -- Jim Vorel [Full review]
Slashfilm
"There's something to be celebrated here: keeping The Cloverfield Paradox top-secret and making it suddenly available on Netflix is a way to ensure that everyone has a chance to view the film on the same level playing field. There's no early buzz, no early hype, no early negative word. Everyone goes in fresh. That's the positive way of looking at things. The negative way would be to say that the producers behind The Cloverfield Paradox, including J.J. Abrams, realized the film was such a colossal dud that they knew they'd be better off dumping it onto a streaming platform instead of going through the trouble of a wide theatrical release." -- Chris Evangelista [Full review]
A new teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War aired during Super Bowl LII, giving us a few new glimpses at what the biggest Marvel movie yet has in store. The trailer shows the Avengers assembling to fight Thanos, a fan favorite villain from the Marvel comics, and one whose arrival the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies have been teasing for years. Watch it above.
Characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Vision, Scarlet Witch, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Hulk, Thor, Loki, Captain American, Black Widow, Black Panther, the Winter Soldier, and more will come together to battle the Mad Titan (as Thanos has sometimes been called). "So this is it," Tony Stark says. "It's all been leading up to this."
The prospect of seeing all the characters from the disparate MCU movies fighting alongside one another is enough to get most Marvel fans excited, even though this will be only part one of a two-part film event (preceding the still-unnamed fourth Avengers movie expected out in 2019).
Even if you're not a football fan, you can appreciate a good Super Bowl commercial. Companies pay upwards of $5 million dollars for a 30-second spot, so they try to do something special every year. Luckily, most of these companies have a good sense of humor, so people watching the final football game of the season were treated to some pretty hilarious commercials.
We've collected some of the funniest and most entertaining commercials from the evening and gathered them for your amusement here. One of the most bizarre commercials of the night came Dundee (seen above), which put together what was seemingly an ad for a new Crocodile Dundee movie. The commercial, starring Danny McBride and Chris Hemsworth, slowly reveals it's not a spot for a new movie but simply an ad to visit Australia. The spot even featured a quick cameo from Crocodile Dundee himself, Paul Hogan.
GuacWorld
Paul Hogan wasn't the only cameo in a commercial from the evening. Chris Elliot, who you may remember from It's Something About Mary and Cabin Boy, plays himself in a Biodome-esque situation where the inhabitants of a domed paradise riot when they learn they have no chips for their avocados.
Bud Light Knight
In 2017, Bud Light debuted a new string of commercials taking place in the Medieval era and launching the new catchphrase "dilly dilly." During this year's Super Bowl, the company debuted the Bud Knight. It's as ridiculous as you think it is.
M&M Danny DeVito
For years, the animated M&M characters have been avoiding their doom via being eaten by humans. During the Super Bowl spot, Red M&M finds a lucky penny and wishes he was human. He morphs into Danny Devito, which helps put the horrifying M&M ads from earlier in the evening into perspective, which featured Devito swimming in chocolate.
Doritos vs Mountain Dew
Doritos and Mountain Dew have delivered some bizarre commercials in the past, and surprisingly, this year's entries aren't the weirdest. The dual features Peter Dinklage lip-syncing to Busta Rhymes and Morgan Freeman lip-syncing to Missy Elliot.
NFL Dirty Dancing
For some bizarre reason, the NFL had ads during the Super Bowl. The best of the bunch featured wide receiver Odel Beckham Jr and Eli Manning recreating the iconic dance from the movie Dirty Dancing.
Alexa Loses Her Voice
One of the few standout commercials from the second half of the game was an Amazon commercial. In it, Alexa loses her voice and is replaced by the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Rebel Wilson, and more.
It's a Tide ad
The best commercials from this year's Super Bowl came from Tide (please don't eat the company's pods). It featured David Harbour (Stranger Things) spoofing Super Bowl commercials that we've all seen in the past and saying, "It's a Tide ad." Spots randomly popped up again throughout the evening, and it became increasingly tough to spot a real ad over a Tide ad.

A new trailer for Westworld Season 2 aired during Super Bowl LII. Along with providing us with a look at the upcoming season, it also revealed the new season's release date: April 22. We also get to see Dolores on the warpath against her makers.
"Look at this world. This beautiful world. We built this world together. A world where dreams come true. A world where you can be free. But this world is a lie," Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) says over a rousing piano version of Kanye West's "Runaway." "This world deserves to die. Because this is your world. We've lived by your rules long enough. We can save this world. We can burn it to the ground, and from the ashes build a new world. Our world."
Anyone who watched Westworld Season 1 knows how exciting that is to hear. The Season 2 trailer is full of gorgeous shots of open plains, horses, cowboys, and Native Americans, but in expected Westworld fashion, those beautiful sights quickly begin to fall apart. The mechanical bulls goring a room full of soldiers is the perfect encapsulation of what this show is all about.
There are plenty of other intriguing glimpses in the trailer, including a group of mysterious black-clad strangers accompanied by Jeffrey Wright's Bernard, shots of Maeve and Clementine, what looks like it may be Louis Herthum's Peter Abernathy being tortured in a chair, the Man in Black looking sad in the rain, and what appears to be the aftermath of the Season 1 finale's violent party. That's not even mentioning all the quick shots at the end.
Westworld Season 2 will premiere on HBO April 22. You can see more of this year's Super Bowl commercials below.
Super Bowl 52 turned out to be a terrific game, coming down to the final seconds before the Eagles emerged victorious over the Patriots. But while the actual on-field action was great (and record-setting, in terms of offense), it was a brief moment during halftime that has had many people talking.
During his halftime performance, Justin Timberlake went up into the stands to cap things off by singing and dancing in the stairway. At one point, he gets a young boy involved who could seemingly not be less interested in what's going on. The kid (who does seem excited about his newfound fame) ultimately takes a picture with Timberlake using his phone. He also glances at his phone to do something, and hence, a meme was born.
As is to be expected from such a moment, social media sites like Twitter have been flooded with everyone's spin on it. Among those to get in on the action are a variety of game developers and publishers. These range from joking about the kid's reaction to what he was looking at on his phone to other moments from the half-time show, like some of Timberlake's attire.
Twitter accounts for those outside of the games industry also had their own jokes to make. Those included The Walking Dead's tweet about the bizarre, low-fidelity representations of players on-screen at certain points in the game.
Waypoint editor-in-chief Austin Walker pointed out how Timberlake's clothing at one point looked like something out of the upcoming Far Cry 5. Ubisoft, the company behind the series, had a retort of its own.
Wow, good on Ubisoft for letting JT take a break from being a mid-game Far Cry 5 boss for this pic.twitter.com/0S6JqxAvVj
We're still in the middle of winter, but spring is coming up soon, and the baseball season with it. That also means the inevitable return of Sony's MLB series, and for this year, MLB 18: The Show introduces a number of improvements and updates that PS4 fans can look forward to.
Among other things, Sony says it's completely reworked the game's tagging system. Everything has been re-written from the ground up, according to the company. A defensive player trying to tag out a baserunner should now have a better sense of what's going on around him. Meanwhile, catchers should be more aggressive in reacting to passed balls, which should result in fewer stolen bases.
Outside of those changes to things that more directly affect gameplay, there are other updates of note. These include more accurately reflecting the look of players, such as giving GIancarlo Stanton and Carlos Correa their distinctive face guards on their helmets. Additionally, there is an enhanced swing analysis box to show off your exact swing and let you get a better sense for what did (or didn't) work.
All of this and more are showcased in the PS4 gameplay video above. MLB 18 features the Yankees' Aaron Judge on the cover, and it launches on March 27, although pre-ordering the game gets you early access beginning on March 23.
After a strong 2017 with prequel title Yakuza 0 and Yakuza: Kiwami, Sega is continuing Kazuma Kiryu's journey through the Japanese underworld in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life this year. The game picks up some time after the events of Yakuza 5, with Kiryu returning to the Sunflower Orphanage to find Haruka is missing. Naturally, Kiryu takes it upon himself to solve the mystery of her disappearance, which inevitably embroils him in Yakuza politics once again.
We recently got to spend some hands-on time with Yakuza 6 and have put together a video of the first 30 minutes of gameplay for you to watch. It must be clarified that this isn't actually the opening of the game, as much of that is spent recounting the events of previous titles and catching players up on the various characters that have been involved in Kiryu's journey so far. This is instead the first significant chunk of gameplay that becomes available to the player.
As you'll be able to tell, it's a familiar setup to previous titles in the series, with players exploring a large, detailed depiction of Kamurocho to find missions, fight gangs of no-goodniks, engage in weird but entertaining side stories, and pump hours into activities such as bowling and karaoke. In the video, we get a decent look at a small slice of the game, mainly focused on combat and exploration, as well as an introduction to the main antagonists.
Early impressions are good, Kamurocho looks better than ever, there's a greater amount of voiced dialogue, and the game is overflowing with that eccentric Yakuza charm that fans love. Combat has also been streamlined to place less of an emphasis on switching styles, but still feels rewarding and, most importantly, brutal.
We're a few days into February, which means a new batch of free games will soon be available for PS Plus members. That also makes today your last opportunity to grab January's selection of PS Plus titles, which return to their regular price on February 6.
As usual, the biggest selection of free titles is available for PS4 owners, with five freebies to claim in all. The biggest of the bunch are Square Enix's stealth action-RPG, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and the complete first season of Batman: The Telltale Series. In addition to those, PS4 owners can still grab the VR game Starblood Arena (which will be available for free until March 6) and Vita's Uncanny Valley, which is playable on the home console thanks to Cross-Buy. Finally, PS4 owners in Europe and Australia can download the party game That's You, while those in the US can pick up Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness.
On PS3, PS Plus subscribers can claim a pair of free titles: Sacred 3 and The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. Vita owners, meanwhile, can download the aforementioned Uncanny Valley and Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness. The latter doesn't typically support Cross-Buy, so you may need to download it separately on PS4 and Vita.
You can see the full lineup of January's free PS Plus titles below. They'll be replaced on February 6 by the next lineup of free PS Plus games, which is headlined by Knack and Rime for PS4. Other freebies you'll be able to pick up soon include Spelunker HD, Mugen Souls Z, and Grand Kingdom.
Despite the launch of two new consoles last year, PC dominated much of the conversation in 2017 thanks to the phenomenal success of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which released in Early Access in March and proceeded to shatter player and sales records throughout the remainder of the year. But while PUBG may have been the platform's biggest success story in 2017, it certainly wasn't the only noteworthy PC game to come out last year, with critically acclaimed titles like Divinity: Original Sin II and Doki Doki Literature Club all releasing exclusively for the platform.
2018 is likewise shaping up to be another great year for PC players. In terms of breadth, no platform has more exclusive games on the way this year than PC. Hundreds of games are set to launch on the platform over the course of the next 12 months thanks to digital storefronts like Steam and GOG, which allow independent developers to release their titles to the public more easily than they would traditionally be able to.
While it would be impossible to mention all of the PC games in store for this year, there are a few high-profile releases that should be on everyone's radar. In the video above, we take a look at some of the biggest PC exclusives on the way in 2018, from the Monster Hunter-like co-op RPG Dauntless to the classic strategy game Age of Empires: Definitive Edition and Obsidian's next RPG, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. You can also see all of the year's big PC exclusives in our gallery.
Regardless of which platform you own, there are a lot of exciting games to look forward to in 2018. In addition to the biggest PC titles, we've taken a look at the most anticipated PS4 games, Nintendo Switch games, and Xbox One games of the year.
The PlayStation Essentials sale may be over, but a new selection of game discounts are now available on the US PlayStation Store. This week, Sony is holding a PS Plus Specials sale that's available exclusively to PS Plus subscribers, and it offers discounts on a variety of PS4, PS3, and Vita titles.
PS3 owners have a much slimmer selection to choose from, as only two titles are included in the PS Plus Specials sale: BlazBlue: Central Fiction ($25) and R-Type Dimensions ($3). While those discounts are only available to PS Plus subscribers, all PS3 owners can also pick up Demon's Souls for $10, Space Hulk for $14, and FIFA 18 Legacy Edition for $30 ($27 for Plus members).

You can also pick up the complete series in the Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy Bundle, which is on sale for $49 / £35.
Several Xbox 360 games will also be on sale this week for Gold members, but Major Nelson has yet to reveal which ones. We'll update this story with the Xbox 360 Deals with Gold as they're announced.
You can find the full list of this week's Xbox Deals with Gold on Major Nelson's blog. All of the above discounts are only available until 3 AM PT / 6 AM ET on February 6, after which time they'll be replaced by a new selection of Deals with Gold. Gold members also only have one more day to claim January's free Games with Gold. Most of those return to their regular price on January 31; the following day, they'll be replaced by February's Games with Gold lineup, which includes Shadow Warrior and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India.
Monster Hunter World has released for PS4 and Xbox One, but PS4 players have some additional content right from the outset. On the official Capcom Unity blog, the publisher confirmed that the first quest to get the PS4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn armor would be available right at launch, but it won't be around for very long.
Right now, PS4 players are able to embark on the first part of the Horizon Zero Dawn Event Quest. You'll need to attain a Hunter Rank of 6 or higher in order to accept the quest, which has you hunting eight Barnos. After completing the mission, you'll obtain materials that can be forged into Horizon-themed Watcher armor for your Palico companion. You can get a full walkthrough on what to do in our guide on unlocking Horizon's Monster Hunter World items.
The first part of the Horizon Event Quest will only be available until February 8, giving players a limited time to rank up and obtain the Palico armor. It will be followed by the second Horizon Event Quest on February 28, which will be available until March 5. While Capcom hasn't announced the details of that quest yet, it will reward players with materials to craft Horizon protagonist Aloy's bow and armor.
The Horizon Zero Dawn armor isn't the only exclusive content Capcom has offered PS4 owners. Over the past few weeks, the company has held several Monster Hunter World beta tests that were available only on PS4, the most recent of which took place last weekend and gave players a chance to hunt Monster Hunter World's fearsome cover monster, the Nergigante.
Capcom has regularly released crossover DLC items for past Monster Hunter titles; the series' 3DS installments received weapons and armor based on the Legend of Zelda, while a set of retro Mega Man Palico armor is also coming to Monster Hunter World. The first free DLC for Monster Hunter World is scheduled to arrive in spring and adds the Deviljho. However, players who want to play Monster Hunter World online and download any DLC will need to install a day-one update, which adds online features (as well as the adorable Poogies).
Monster Hunter World is now available for PS4 and Xbox One. A PC version is also in development, though that won't arrive until sometime this fall. The game has been met with very positive reviews. Critic Ginny Woo awarded it an 8 out of 10 in GameSpot's Monster Hunter World review and called it "likely the biggest and best that the franchise has ever been."
This story has been updated with additional details about the Horizon Zero Dawn Event Quest.

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is Amazon is raising the prime of their prime service for those that subscribe monthly. The current $10.99 monthly cost will now be $12.99. The good news is that annual subscribers will see no increase, and there's plenty of new additions coming to Amazon Prime Video in February to make up for the extra money.
First and foremost, the new month will see the arrival of the rest of The Tick's first season. Guardians of the Galaxy's Peter Serafinowicz returns as the strange superhero, with six more installments debuting on February 23. The Tick is just one of several shows adding episodes to Amazon Prime, along with The Expanse and Mozart in the Jungle.
As for movies, 2009's Star Trek, directed by JJ Abrams, will be available to stream in February. Additionally, the original Red Dawn film, Mystic Pizza, both versions of Rollerball, and The Warriors will all be added to the service, among many other titles.
Moving to Xbox 360, the Disney-published high-octane racing game Split/Second is free through February 15. It is playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility, so you can pick it up and play even if you don't have an Xbox 360.
Then on February 16, a new set of freebies will be available. On Xbox One, the side-scrolling Assassin's Creed spinoff, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India, will be free, while the wacky driving game Crazy Taxi will drop to the low, low price of $0.00 on Xbox 360.

Nintendo has a lot of big titles lined up for the first half of 2018 as its new hybrid console, the Switch, heads into the second year of its life, but certainly the most unexpected is Nintendo Labo. Unveiled last month as a new "experience" for the Switch, Nintendo Labo isn't a video game in the traditional sense, but rather a suite of DIY projects that use the console and Joy-Cons in a variety of clever ways.
So far, Nintendo is releasing Labo in two distinct "kits," each of which includes an assortment of cardboard sheets, string, and other crafts that can be assembled into different peripherals--charmingly dubbed Toy-Cons--that interact with the included software. The first package, the Variety Kit, features five different Toy-Cons to make for use with a corresponding activity, while the Robot Kit comes with materials to assemble a cardboard backpack that lets you control an on-screen robot.
It certainly sounds like a bizarre concept on paper, and it may be difficult to fully wrap your head around how Nintendo Labo operates and why it's such a neat piece of software just from the trailer Nintendo shared earlier this month. While it remains to be seen if Labo will ultimately be worth picking up when it launches, most of our questions about the game were answered at a preview event this week in New York, which gave us our first opportunity to go hands-on with unique project.
In the video above, you can watch us assemble some Toy-Cons and play through the full range of activities from the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit: RC Car, Motorbike, Piano, House, and Fishing Rod. We also strapped on the Robot backpack and stomped around a virtual city as a giant robot, punching over buildings and transforming into a vehicle.
Both Nintendo Labo kits launch on April 20. The Variety Kit retails for $70 USD / £60 / $100 AUD, while the Robot Kit costs $80 USD / £70 / $120 AUD. We'll have more coverage of Nintendo Labo soon, but in the meantime, you can read more about Nintendo Labo here.
It's been a long time since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion launched--almost 12 years, in fact--and the game's visuals have aged quite a bit. Oblivion looks like what it was: a game released early on in the life cycle of the Xbox 360, which might make it difficult for some players to return to. However, a group of fans are determined to remake the game using more modern tech, and as a new trailer for the Skyblivion mod shows, it's looking pretty great.
Skyblivion is an effort by the modding group TESRenewal, which has also undertaken a similar project to recreate The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Skyblivion is a remake of Oblivion using the Skyrim game engine, and it's been in development for several years. You can see some of the beautiful Cyrodiil landscapes and cities in the video below.
Skyblivion includes substantial overhauls of many elements of Oblivion, and it'll be modular, meaning you can pick and choose which parts to install. According to TESRenewal's website, you'll be able to install enhancements to landscaping, interiors, cities, weapons and armor, among other improvements. In addition, all of Oblivion's quests, locations, and characters will be ported to Skyblivion.
There's still no release date yet for the mod, but TESRenewal promises that it'll be entirely free. However, players will need to own both Skyrim and Oblivion, and all their DLC packs, in order to install the mod.
Nintendo raised a lot of eyebrows last month when it announced Nintendo Labo, a new kind of "experience" that players can build and use with their Switch. While DIY software in itself is hardly a novel concept, what makes Labo particularly unique is that it comes packaged with pieces of cardboard and other assorted crafts, which can be fashioned into a number of different peripherals, such as a fishing rod or a miniature piano, and used in conjunction with the Switch console and Joy-Cons.
Of course, it's difficult to fully wrap your head around Labo without experiencing it for yourself, and you may still have questions about how it all works. If you're confused over what exactly Nintendo Labo is and how you play it, we've got you covered. In the video above, we break down exactly what it is you do with Nintendo Labo and how your cardboard creations are able to interact with the Switch.
Labo is available in two different kits, each of which includes several sheets of cardboard paper and other materials you need to build Toy-Cons, the cardboard objects you use to play Labo's various activities. The cardboard is already perforated, so assembling your Toy-Con is simply a matter of popping out the pieces (carefully, as the cardboard is fairly thin) and following the step-by-step instructions displayed on the Switch screen to put them together.
Every Toy-Con you create has a slot for your Joy-Cons, and it uses these controllers in various ways to interact with the Labo software. The RC Car, for instance, "drives" around by using the Joy-Cons' HD rumble. Other constructions, like the Piano, have strips of IR tape that are read by the right Joy-Con's camera to determine which note to play when you press a certain key. Similarly, the House Toy-Con comes with a variety of plugs that can be inserted into either of its sides, which will cause something different to happen on the Switch screen.
For a better idea of how the game works, be sure to watch our hands-on footage of Nintendo Labo. We got to build several Toy-Cons and played all five of the activities in the Labo Variety Kit: RC Car, Fishing Pole, House, Motorbike, and Piano. You can also watch us try out the Robot Kit, which has players strap on a Toy-Con backpack to control an on-screen robot.
Nintendo Labo releases in the US and Australia on April 20, while it arrives in Europe on April 27. Both the Variety Kit and the Robot Kit will be available at launch; the former will cost $70 USD / £60 / $100 AUD, while the latter retails for $80 USD / £70 / $120 AUD. Nintendo will also release a separate Customization Set that includes stencils, stickers, and colored tape to customize your Toy-Cons.
While many look to February as a time for love, thanks to Valentine's Day, the true meaning of the second month of the year is to celebrate a long list of new things to stream on Netflix. The service is adding movie franchises, fan-favorite TV shows, and some highly anticipated originals in February.
Among the originals is likely the biggest arrival of the month in Altered Carbon. The sci-fi series is based on the 2002 Richard K. Morgan novel of the same name and stars Joel Kinnaman, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and James Purefoy. The series follows a man who has been awoken after 250 and placed into a new body, as he solves a murder. You can read more about it in our Altered Carbon review.
Other originals being added include the documentary Seeing Allred, the new talk show The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, and the latest episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, which will feature George Clooney. Additionally, the American Pie, Ocean's Eleven, and Kill Bill franchises are all available to stream as of February 1.
Sadly, a new month also means several titles are departing Netflix, Among them are Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas, Project X, all three seasons of An Idiot Abroad, and several series of Top Gear.
You can take a look at everything Netflix is gaining and losing below. You can also look back on everything the service added in January if you aren't caught up.
The posters are stylishly illustrated and are reminiscent of the painted look of classic Star Wars posters. In each case, the character is set into the text of their name, with a different color scheme and some intriguing background detail. Check them out in the gallery below:
Solo: A Star Wars Story also stars Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany, and Thandie Newton, and it's directed by Ron Howard. It hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
The movie has had a bit of troubled production, with Howard taking over duties from Chris Miller and Phil Lord in June 2017. There have been rumors that Howard has reshot a lot more of the film than initially expected, and at least one role had to be recast, with Bettany replacing Michael K. Williams. Bettany himself commented in the issue and said that Howard "reshot a lot more than was originally intended."
Glover last month stated that despite the lengthy production, little about the film altered after Howard came on board. "It didn't really [change]," he said. "I think we were never faced with anything like that and [Howard] did a good job of coming in and didn't want us to change what we were doing at all. He wanted us to be comfortable with our vision."
February is here, and that means a new selection of free PlayStation Plus games are on their way soon. Sony has revealed its selection of freebies for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita owners this month.
From February 6, PS4 owners can grab Knack and Rime for free. Knack is the PS4 launch title developed by Sony Japan and the system's hardware architect, Mark Cerny. Rime, meanwhile, is a colorful adventure game released last year. You can read more about the two games in our Knack review and our Rime review.
PS3 owners, meanwhile, will receive platformer Spelunker HD and turn-based RPG Mugen Souls Z free of charge. Lastly, PS Vita's free games for the month are 2D Metroidvania-style game Exile's End and tactical RPG Grand Kingdom. The latter of these is also available for free on PS4 with Cross-Buy. As an added bonus, PS Plus subscribers can also grab the PSVR exclusive Starblood Arena for the low, low price of nothing until March 6.
2018 is still young, but one of the standout games so far is Celeste. The platformer calls to mind a game like Super Meat Boy, but it trades in the violence of that game and instead offers up a surprising story about mental health issues. Although its narrative is a real highlight, it's also incredibly fun to play--and really tough.
While the entire game poses a challenge, where it's most difficult is in its B-Side levels. These alternate versions present twists on the standard levels that make reaching the end a real accomplishment. But in order to play them, you first have to unlock them by tracking down and securing hidden tapes. Whether you're simply curious to see what these B-Sides are like or want to see an expert run through them, you can check out the video above. Our own Joey Yee starts out by going through some standard levels before jumping into the B-Sides.
Celeste was developed by Matt Makes Games, the same group responsible for TowerFall. It debuted just recently on a variety of platforms, including PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The aforementioned narrative, which centers around protagonist Madeline's attempt to climb a mountain, help to elevate it beyond simply being an excellent platformer.
"It's a testament to convincing writing and ingenious design that after playing Celeste I felt like I'd been on the same journey as Madeline," GameSpot's Oscar Dayus writes in our Celeste review. "Her struggle is one made easy to empathize with, her low points painful to watch, and her high notes exhilarating to experience. Her tale is delicately told and beautifully illustrated, confidently coalescing with the satisfying, empowering game it lies within. Not bad for a game about climbing a mountain."
With the arrival of the weekend, Xur has once again shown his face (sort of) in Destiny 2. As always, his appearance in-game provides an opportunity to blow some Legendary Shards and fill out your collection of Exotic weapons and armor, with another batch of four items up for sale in addition to the usual other options. Here's where Xur is this week, how to find him, and what he's selling.
Xur has taken up residence on Nessus this week, which means getting to him is a cinch. Spawn in at the Watcher's Grave Landing Zone, hop on your Sparrow, and drive straight ahead. You'll see Xur lurking in the giant tree you run into; you can simply jump up the side or leap over from the nearby cliff to reach him. Either way, you'll find him standing all by his lonesome on one of the main branches.
As for his lineup of items, you can spend a whopping 97 Legendary Shards for a Fated Engram, which is guaranteed to put into your hands an Exotic that you don't already own. You can also pick up the Three of Coins, which boosts the likelihood of Exotic items dropping for four hours. There's also an Exotic weapon--the Prospector grenade launcher--and three pieces of armor, one for each class. The most notable of these is the Warlock's item, Ophidian Aspect, which is a set of gauntlets added in Curse of Osiris (meaning you'll need to own the DLC in order to purchase and equip them). Here's everything Xur has for sale:

Those eager to get their hands on Yakuza 6 will be able to try it out fairly soon, but the full experience will now require a longer wait. Sega has announced a delay for the upcoming PS4 title, but a demo is on the way in just a few weeks that will allow players to transfer their save to the full game.
In a message shared on the franchise's official Twitter account, Sega revealed that it has pushed Yakuza 6's release back about a month. Rather than launching on March 20, as previously planned, it will now launch in North America and Europe on April 17. "This was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly," the message reads in part.
Alongside the delay, Sega announced that a demo will launch on February 27. Exactly what it will consist of was not shared, but it did say that it will "allow players to bring their save into the game on release." It also teased it has "many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series."
Yakuza 6 originally released in Japan in December 2016. Games in the series have traditionally taken a somewhat long time to come to western markets; even with the delay, this will be a much faster turnaround than what we saw with Yakuza 5, which had a three-year gap between its Japanese and international releases.
