WWE Greatest Royal Rumble: Predictions For Every Match At The PPV

By Mat Elfring on Apr 27, 2018 12:14 am

Coming to the WWE Network live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is the Greatest Royal Rumble on Friday, April 27. The show will start at 5 PM BST / 7 PM AST, and because of the time zone difference, it will air on WWE's streaming service at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET, with the Kickoff Show starting one hour prior.

If you can't get around to watching the show live because you're at work, school, or whatever, don't worry. GameSpot will be covering Greatest Royal Rumble live, just like we do with all WWE PPVs. The Middle Eastern event revolves around one gigantic match for the evening: a 50-man Royal Rumble match. At this time, there's no prize for the winner, aside from bragging rights.

There are eight matches on the card so far, but the show will surely get larger with the Cruiserweight Championship match yet to be booked. Here is who is on the card and our predictions for the event. In addition, you can find out everyone in the main event of the PPV here. Don't expect any huge surprises as Greatest Royal Rumble feels almost like a large house show with the way it's being booked and promoted.

Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Kalisto

(For the Cruiserweight Championship)

Sadly, I was really hoping for a rematch between Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander. However, that's not what Greatest Royal Rumble is delivering. While there are a few rumors flying around about plenty of title changes at the show, I don't think this is going to be one of them. Without a doubt, this will be an exciting match, but in the end, Alexander will retain the title, as his run as Cruiserweight Champion is still new.

Our prediction: Cedric Alexander wins

The Miz vs. Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe

(For the Intercontinental Championship)

Seth Rollins won the IC title from Miz at Wrestlemania 34 in a triple threat match, which included Finn Balor. Then, on the Raw after Mania, Samoa Joe returned to action, by yelling at Roman Reigns. Now--somehow--Joe will join the battle for the IC championship at Greatest Royal Rumble. As much as I love Joe, he needs to be in the main event and not on the midcard holding onto this title. For that reason, I'm giving the win to Rollins.

Our prediction: Seth Rollins wins

Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

(For the United States Championship)

Monday's Superstar Shakeup featured the Raw debut of United States Champion Jinder Mahal, who quickly lost his newly acquired championship to Jeff Hardy. Considering that Matt Hardy is off doing his own thing, this is a good time for Jeff go on his own run, and for that run to matter, he needs to retain the title. So I'm giving the win to Jeff. Jinder will be hindered once again.

Our prediction: Jeff Hardy wins

The Bar vs. Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt

(For the Raw Tag Team Championship)

Raw's tag team division has been a bit of a mess the past six months.Think about it. The best moment from the division is when Braun Strowman and an 11-year-old won the titles at Wrestlemania. The Greatest Royal Rumble match should shakeup the division, and the only way for that to happen is if Wyatt and Hardy win. The titles need new blood, even if the tag team is a bit weird. And frankly, although Wyatt and Hardy are a new team, they'll be able to grow together as champions.

Our prediction: Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt win

The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The Usos

(For the Smackdown Tag Team Championship)

The Usos are getting their rematch for the Smackdown Tag Team championships against the duo that beat them at Wrestlemania, the Bludgeon Brothers. It'll be a combination of pure, brute force versus two of the most talented and exciting men on Smackdown. However, I don't expect Harper and Rowen to lose their new titles at this show, as their championship run just started, so I'm giving them the win.

Our prediction: Bludgeon Brothers win

Undertaker vs. Rusev (Casket Match)

Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy gets girl. That's been the storyline for this match, where the boy is Rusev and the girl is Undertaker. For some odd reason, Rusev was taken off of this match and replaced with Chris Jericho recently. Now, the Bulgarian Brute is back on. Much like I originally said during the Taker/Jericho prediction, I'm giving the win to Undertaker because this is his match and Wrestlemania was about reasserting his dominance, which this match will also establish.

Our prediction: Undertaker wins

Secondary prediction: This will be a short match

John Cena vs. Triple H

While the average WWE fan may find this match confusing, both of these names will be draws for the show in the Middle East. At this point, we don't know how it will play out, as to whether Triple H will go the heel route or whether it will be two faces battling it out. Regardless, I'm going to give the win to John Cena as he's the face that runs the place.

Our prediction: John Cena wins

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

(For the Universal Championship)

WWE fans were shocked when Lesnar beat Reigns at Wrestlemania, as we were all expecting the end of Lesnar's reign that night. Now, there's a rematch at Greatest Royal Rumble, and once again, it's for the Universal Championship. There is a small part of me that thinks WWE will troll us all again and have Lesnar win, but I need to have some hope that Reigns will win, and this will be the end of the part-timer champion.

Our prediction: Roman Reigns wins... please let him win.

AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

(For the WWE Championship)

It's a Wrestlemania 34 rematch. A rivalry has been building between AJ Styles and Shinusuke Nakamura, who can't stop punching Styles in the crotch. This is a real thing that's happening right now. Luckily, the Greatest Royal Rumble is coming up, so Nakamura can get his rematch in sooner rather than later. This is the start of the rivalry, so I expect the title to change hands here, with Styles getting his rematch at Backlash.

Our prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura wins dirty

Greatest Royal Rumble

As of this writing, there's no prize for winning the 50-man Rumble match, but that doesn't mean it won't be a long yet entertaining bout. There are plenty of wrestlers that have yet to be announced for this match--like Rusev--so I'm giving the win to Braun Strowman, for now.

Our prediction: Braun Strowman wins

Destiny 2: Warmind Exotic Armor And Weapons From New DLC Revealed

By Chris Pereira on Apr 26, 2018 07:31 pm

New Exotic weapons and armor are coming in Destiny 2's second expansion

New Destiny 2 Exotic weapons and armor are officially on the way to the game, and we finally have some idea of what to expect. With Bungie at long last revealing the first details about the upcoming Warmind DLC expansion, it's also shared a look at a selection of Exotic gear that will soon be added. We get a mixture of returning items from the previous game and some brand-new additions.

A ton of new content is on the way to Destiny 2 with Warmind. Of course, new gear is the big highlight for Warlock, Titan, and Hunter players, and it's ultimately why many people play the game. A reveal livestream for the DLC didn't focus much on Exotics other than some talk about changes to existing ones, but the developer subsequently revealed a bunch of images showcasing the new expansion. That includes a look at 14 new Exotic items that will be available for those who buy Warmind. As with other Destiny 2 Exotics, some of these are returning items from the first game, such as the Apotheosis Veil helmet, Claws of Ahamkara gloves, Suros Regime auto rifle, and Armamentarium chest armor.

Others are brand-new; these include the Wormgod gauntlets, Wormhusk Crown helmet, Sanguine Alchemy chest, Oculus Xol helmet, and Huckleberry submachine gun. We don't yet know exactly how you'll obtain any of these. The latter, in particular, resembles the Leviathan--it could possibly be a reward added as part of Warmind's new Raid Lair, Spire of Stars, which is set on the Leviathan. That wasn't shown during the stream, but Bungie says it's the Leviathan's final Raid Lair.

All The New Warmind Exotics (So Far)

  • Apotheosis Veil -- helmet
  • Armamentarium -- chest armor
  • Ashen Wake -- gauntlets
  • Claws of Ahamkara -- gauntlets
  • Eternal Warrior -- helmet
  • Frost-EE5 -- leg armor
  • The Huckleberry -- submachine gun
  • The Oculus Xol -- helmet
  • Ophidia Spathe -- chest armor
  • Sanguine Alchemy -- chest armor
  • Sealed Ahamkara Grasps -- gauntlets
  • Suros Regime -- auto rifle
  • Wormgod Caress -- gauntlets
  • Wormhusk Crown -- helmet

It's unclear just how many Exotics will be added in total, but other new gear is also being added. Additionally, those playing on PS4 will have a timed exclusive once again; in addition to The Insight Terminus Strike, there will be an armor set for each class available exclusively on the console until at least Fall 2018.

Warmind launches on May 8 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It also introduces the Escalation Protocol event as an endgame activity, new Crucible maps, and much more. The free Season 3 update, 1.2.0, also launches on that day and brings Exotic weapon changes, private matches, Crucible rankings, and much more.

Fortnite Skins And All Season 3 Battle Pass Rewards

By Chris Pereira on Apr 26, 2018 02:38 am

Season 3 of Fortnite: Battle Royale is underway, bringing new weekly challenges and skins for players to earn on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Although the end of Season 3 is in sight, it's not too late to pick up the Battle Pass and begin earning its myriad rewards, which include a broader range than in the past.

As with previous Battle Passes, this one includes a limited selection of content that anyone can unlock. The vast majority of rewards, however, are limited to players who purchase the full Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks (or just around $10). If you owned the Season 2 Battle Pass, you'll automatically get five tiers' worth of progress for free. Additional tiers can be earned by collecting stars by playing and fulfilling specific objectives, or by purchasing them with additional V-Bucks.

Among the items you'll find in the premium tier of the Battle Pass are new pickaxes, skins, gliders, emotes, and much more. There's also Back Bling, which is a new category of item added as part of the 3.0.0 update alongside skydiving trails and loading screens. In the images above, you can see all of the major new items included in the Season 3 Battle Pass. Bear in mind, these are all cosmetic; nothing will actually impact gameplay directly. If you're a fan of references, though, you're in luck, as you'll find skins clearly meant to resemble the likes of John Wick and Guardians of the Galaxy's Star-Lord.

In terms of playable content, Fortnite has received numerous additions in recent months. Epic has aggressively added new content to the game, including new weapons, items, map areas, limited-time modes, and more.

The 10 Best Netflix Originals Of 2018 So Far

By Mat Elfring on Apr 26, 2018 02:13 am

Every year, Netflix releases a ton of original content, and it's too much to keep track of. From Stranger Things to Mindhunter to everything Marvel puts out, finding a Netflix original series to binge during your free time can be a pain. While you're spending way too much time searching through Netflix menus, you may be wondering to yourself, "What's new that's worth my time?"

Luckily, we've been watching a ton of what Netflix puts out and have a narrowed down the service's best 10 shows of 2018. Yes, it's early in the year, and that's why we'll continue to update the list as other amazing shows get released. Obviously, some of the shows on the list are ones you're familiar with, but there are plenty of series that went under the radar as well. If you're planning a weekend streaming binge, check out the shows on this list.

If you're interested in finding out more about Netflix originals, check out our list of every original produced in 2018, with mini reviews of everything we've seen included.

10. The End of the F***ing World

Release Date: January 5

Genre: Dark Comedy

Originally airing on British television, The End of the F***ing World was a co-production with Netflix and came to the streaming service in early 2018. The eight-part series follows a 17-year-old named James who believes that he's a psychopath. He kills animals for fun but wants to try his hand at killing a human and decides to murder Alyssa, who wants to run away from home. Get ready for a demented adventure.

The series is dark, twisted, and violent. It's not for the faint of heart, and their journey is incredibly enthralling. While there are moments that are ultimately disturbing, as this show isn't afraid to "go there," watching the journey of Alyssa and James is something you can't turn away from. Here are a few things you need to know about the show before diving in.

9. Altered Carbon

Release Date: February 2

Genre: Sci-Fi

If dystopian science fiction with a dash of cyberpunk is up your alley, then Altered Carbon will be for you. The series, which takes place 350 years in the future, follows a former political operative who wakes up after being "asleep" for 250 years, and he is tasked with solving the murder of a wealthy man. The story and tech involved with it get a whole lot more complex, but we'll just leave it at that as we don't want to give away too much.

GameSpot's Mike Rougeau said in his Altered Carbon review, "Altered Carbon never shies from examining exactly how an invention like the cortical stack would change our reality, and this future society appears far different from our own. Yet in many ways, it's really exactly the same--which is more or less the prime directive of great science fiction."

8. Rotten

Release Date: January 5

Genre: Documentary

Rotten examines problems within the food industry from the rise in peanut allergies and its effect on farmers to the disappearance of bees and the rise in fake honey being imported from overseas. Each episode of the series covers a different aspect of the food industry and the far-reaching effects of a given event.

While Rotten feels like another one of those conspiracy theory documentaries that plague the streaming service, it's actually a well-researched series that objectively gives an insight into the side of the food industry consumers never think about. The peanut episode in particular does a fine job at showing the complex problem farmers have to deal with the rise of food allergies, which includes scientists trying to figure out what's happening with the human body.

7. Flint Town

Release Date: March 2

Genre: Docuseries

Over the course of two years, a documentary crew followed Flint, Michigan's police, and an understaffed and underfunded department trying to do its best. A few years prior, Flint had 300 officers, but now, they're down to 98 and only a few patrol cars. Because the crime rate is so high, calls to the police oftentimes don't get answered for days.

Flint Town starts off as incredibly depressing as you follow these officers trying to do their best with their limited resources. From there, the audience gets to see the changes Flint tries to make in their police force. There's an inkling of hope as the series moves forward, but there's always bumps in the road. It's one of the best-produced Netflix docuseries.

6. A Series of Unfortunate Events (Season 2)

Release Date: March 30

Genre: Dark Comedy

Netflix pumps out a ton of original programming geared at children, but most of it is unwatchable for the whole family. Luckily, there are a few shows that both parents and their kids can enjoy--or that you can enjoy without first bearing children. The second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events is wonderfully fun and quirky, even if--at times--it can be exceptionally dark in tone.

The Baudelaire children continue to be shuffled around in the new season and of course, Count Olaf is still after them. The orphans begin a new life at Prufrock Preparatory School where a new gym teacher is quickly revealed as Olaf. Yes, at times, this show is repetitive, but its quick, witty humor along with Neil Patrick Harris' performance of Olaf will make you completely forget about that.

5. Lost in Space

Release Date: April 13

Genre: Sci-fi

Continuing down the family-friendly-affair path is the reboot of Lost in Space. The Robinson family was on their way to colonize another planet with other humans, but when the ship comes under attack, the Robinsons hop into an escape craft and become... lost in space.

Mike Rougeau said in his Lost in Space review, "What makes Lost in Space a true binge is not the moment-to-moment drama. It's the characters and the talented actors who portray them... That Netflix will grant Lost in Space a second season is pretty much guaranteed. For now, enjoy one of the best sci-fi shows in recent memory--with your whole family, if you want."

4. Terrace House: Opening New Doors

Release Date: March 13

Genre: Reality

One of the two reality shows on this list is the fourth installment--third on Netflix--of Terrace House, titled "Opening New Doors." The show revolves around a group of six people--three men and three women--living together in a house for an extended period of time. While this is happening, a group of comedians, actors, and other famous Japanese people discuss the goings on in the house.

The United States has plenty of shows with people living in a house and hooking up--usually under the guidance of alcohol. But what sets Terrace House apart from the pack is that it ultimately feels extremely voyeuristic, which is incredibly awkward at first. However, the talking heads discussing the events of the house are what drive the entertainment factor of the show. Sure, watching Yuudai be the laziest chef in the world and terrible at talking to women is hilarious, but what Terrace House has going for it is that it's subdued and feels incredibly real compared to American reality television.

3. Ugly Delicious

Release Date: February 23

Genre: Travel/Food

There are plenty of shows where a host travels around the world and eats food, but Ugly Delicious found a formula to not only stand out but deliver a strong message as well. The series follows chef David Chang as he dives into the history of food and its connection to culture and society as a whole.

The first season--which consists of eight episodes--is fantastic, and what makes this a standout series is that each one takes such an in-depth look at individual food items, from Chinese food and American perspectives on the cuisine as a whole, to fried chicken, which delves into its racial history in the US and how the rest of the world prepares it. Ugly Delicious is much more than a show about people eating food.

2. Queer Eye

Release Date: February 7

Genre: Reality

Netflix deals in all forms of entertainment, from movies, to stand-up comedy, to reality television. While reality television has oversaturated the market the past decade, Netflix does have a couple wonderful standouts, and one is the revamped Queer Eye. The show features five gay men, each experts in a different aspect of life--food, culture, fashion, design, and grooming. These men team up to better the lives of someone else.

Strangely enough, this is the best reality show on television. It's full of heart and personal triumph as the "Fab Five" reshapes people's lives, for the better, not just by giving them a physical makeover but by also working on making them better people overall.

1. Wild Wild Country

Release Date: March 16

Genre: Docuseries

The six-part Netflix series documents the Rajneesh movement and their move to the United States during the early '80s. During this time, the group bought a large plot of land in rural Oregon, built a city, and tried to infiltrate the Oregonian government, which included assassination attempts and poisoning residents.

It's an unsettling and bizarre tale, which is masterfully told by Chapman Way and Maclain Way. What sets it far apart from others in its genre is that it lets both sides of this story tell it. We hear from those involved in the Rajneesh movement as well as those who lived in the nearby town of Antelope--which had a population of 60--who had fears of the more than 7,000 people moving into their town. The story itself is so crazy that you'll find yourself fact-checking everything, and your jaw will drop when you realize it's all true.
