By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 11:43 pm The Dallas Cowboys, one of the most famous teams in the NFL, are trying something new to train their quarterbacks. The team has signed a two-year deal with a startup called StriVR Labs to use their virtual reality technology to train the team's quarterbacks, which would presumably include Tony Romo. The news comes by way of a source speaking with Re/code. The report appears to be accurate, as the official Dallas Cowboys Facebook page shared a link to the story. According to Re/code, "After donning the headset, players see a live-action 3D video replay of a football play from the quarterback's perspective, and can review that play from a first-person view over and over, looking in any direction." The current iteration of StriVR's headset is not interactive, the site points out. But as it stands, coaches can test a quarterback's decision-making skills, while another benefit is that players can "practice" without the entire team. StriVR was developed by former Stanford kicker Derek Belch. The technology is used at Stanford, and also at a variety of other colleges. The Dallas Cowboys become the first pro team to use the technology. They have not won a Super Bowl since 1996.

E3 is drawing near. Lots of companies, lots of announcements, and lots of leaks. We're using our powers of prognostication to try and separate fact from fiction and figure out what might happen at this year's show. Image source: Wikipedia Fallout 4 is Coming This Year Good boy.
The existence of Fallout 4 was probably one of the worst kept secrets in gaming. We now know officially that it's a real thing, and we know it's going to be a centerpiece of Bethesda's Sunday press conference. But is there a chance that game could also come out this fall? Our sources seem to say yes. Dark Souls 3 at E3
After From Software's success with the Dark Souls franchise and another huge success with Bloodborne, the reveal of a new multiplatform Dark Souls game seems only natural. Rumors abound that we'll see an E3 reveal of some type for the notoriously challenging series. No, Silent Hills Isn't Coming to Xbox It's probably not any better outside.
Rumors circulated recently that Microsoft had bought the Silent Hills horror franchise from Konami for "billions" of dollar. Xbox boss Phil Spencer took to Twitter to set the record straight, however: it's not happening. Big Call of Duty News Staring contest.
We already know the next Call of Duty game is Black Ops 3, so what surprises could Activision have? An anonymous source says you'll want to pay careful attention during the game's E3 stage debut this year. New Metroid Parasites.
Samus and crew have been on an extended hiatus, but multiple sources say that vacation is going to end this E3. The Last Guardian (no, really)
It feels like we say that The Last Guardian will finally get some E3 news this year, but the chatter this year has been more persistent than ever. The most interesting tidbit we've heard: it might also release this year. New Xbox One Controller and 1TB Console New jacks.
Leaked images indicate that Microsoft is going to release a new version of the Xbox One with some slight modifications, including an improved controller and a larger hard drive. Forza 6 More cars.
Accidentally leaked by the Japanese Xbox site, it sounds like we'll get some (official) news on the next Forza during E3. Battletoads Teasing T-shirts.
Spencer wore a Battletoads shirt during a Windows 10 event earlier this year. In his words, "I don't think I've ever worn a t-shirt that's been a complete head-fake." Media Molecule's Next PS4 Game Shall we dance?
Back in 2013, LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule showed of a mysterious trailer that involved music and waving Move controllers. The the studio went silent for two years. We've heard rumblings that that silence will be broken at this year's E3. Gears of War and More Moody.
The studio formerly known as Black Tusk has been not-so-secretly working on a Gears of War project. Rumors indicate that, not only will we see a new game in the franchise, we'll also get a remake of at least one earlier Gears of War game.
By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 11:04 pm "Get ready to soil your plants." That's the tagline from a new teaser video released today for the next Plants vs. Zombies game, which is expected to be a sequel to last year's wacky, team-based shooter Garden Warfare. The teaser video below also reveals that the "exclusive worldwide reveal" of this new game will be made during Microsoft's Xbox briefing at E3 next week, on Monday, June 15. The new Plants vs. Zombies game was announced during an Electronic Arts earnings presentation back in May. "After Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare became a sensation last year with console players young and old, we'll be returning to the Plants vs. Zombies universe with a bigger and bolder new console experience," EA CEO Andrew Wilson said at the time. The game is scheduled to launch during EA's fourth fiscal quarter, which translates to the period running January 1-March 31, 2016. The game is coming to PC and console, though a full list of platforms have not been announced. The original Garden Warfare was released first on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, before later shipping for PC and PlayStation consoles. GameSpot scored the game a 7/10. "While the unlockables fit right in with the whimsical spirit of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, you're left feeling like Garden Warfare needed a little something more to make it a meal rather than a side salad," reviewer Carolyn Petit wrote. "Still, it's that rare shooter whose world and characters might put a smile on your face, making it a refreshing entry in a genre that usually takes itself really seriously." What would you like to see from a Garden Warfare sequel? Let us know in the comments below. By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 10:41 pm From YouTube channel Corridor Digital comes "Real GTA," which is definitely one of the best Grand Theft Auto V-related videos we've ever seen. Everything from character movement style to camera angles and more is faithfully captured. The gunfights and bike stunts obviously are not real, but it all flows together very nicely and is quite impressive. This isn't the first real-world recreation of GTA V, but its attention to detail (including real-world Los Angeles area landmarks) makes it stand out. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. Via: Kotaku By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 09:50 pm Capcom on Monday announced Mega Man Legacy Collection, an upcoming game that includes "faithful reproductions" of the original six Mega Man games. The collection also comes with a new challenge mode and a collection of images, concept art, and other assets from the iconic franchise's history. The game, which will be available only as a download, launches this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a release for the Nintendo 3DS to follow this winter. Mega Man Collection's new challenge mode "remixes gameplay segments from all six games." Capcom also says that difficulty is scalable, meaning the game should appeal to both veterans and newcomers alike. Capcom's other big announcement today was the confirmation of its E3 plans. The Japanese publisher isn't holding a marquee briefing like Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, but the company will have a booth on the E3 show floor. Games including Mega Man Collection, Resident Evil 0 HD, and Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition will be playable. In addition, Street Fighter V will make its first appearance at a major event at E3 next week. There will be a tournament stage and "interactive" photo opportunities. E3 2015 kicks off this coming Sunday and runs through the following week. GameSpot will be on the ground in Los Angeles, bringing you all the news from the show as it's announced. By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 09:30 pm Check out this trailer remix of a few of our most anticipated games that are going to be at at E3 2015. By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 09:10 pm The crowdfunding campaign for Castlevania mastermind Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night continues to grow, with the game expanding to new platforms. Now that funding has passed $3.5 million, the gothic platformer will be released on another platform, Sony's PlayStation Vita. The news was announced through an update to the game's Kickstarter page. It explains that digital and physical copies will be available, along with cross-save support with the PlayStation 4 edition. We've also now learned that the PS Vita's touch screen will be used, at least in part, for the game's map. PS Vita becomes Bloodstained's fifth platform, joining PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U. Armature Studio, which was founded by Metroid developers, will work on the PS Vita edition. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, which originally asked for $500,000, closes in four days on June 12. There are still more stretch goals that could be met, including orchestrated music tracks ($3.75 million), an online challenge mode ($4 million), and a third playable character ($4.25 million), among others. Head to Bloodstained's Kickstarter page for more. Funding currently stands at $3.65 million from more than 44,000 backers. Igarashi, who quit Konami last year, produced more than a dozen Castlevania titles, beginning with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in 1997. He is known for transforming the series into a more adventure-oriented direction known as "Metroidvania." Igarshi is calling Bloodstained "Igavania." In other recent news about Igarashi, watch this video of him hilariously whipping a vampire to promote Bloodstained. By Anonymous on Jun 08, 2015 08:43 pm Ready at Dawn's PlayStation 4-exclusive The Order: 1886 did not fare very well with critics, but how is the third-person shooter doing commercially? According to Ready at Dawn's new CEO Paul Sams (more on that later), the game is no slouch. Ready at Dawn's new CEO, Paul Sams"While we would love to share with you how well The Order: 1886 has performed since it release, those are numbers that only Sony can divulge," he said in a new interview with Game Informer. "Suffice it to say, we are very proud of that game, and we are well on our way to achieving the sales performance that we sought," he added. However, Sams did not share what that sales target was. The Order: 1886 drummed up a fair amount of controversy over its debatable duration. GameSpot scored the game a 5/10. Reviewer Kevin VanOrd wrote, "The Order: 1886 is boring collection of game cliches that betrays its fascinating premise." Ready at Dawn, an independent developer based in Irvine, California, also announced today that it has hired Sams as its new CEO. Sams previously worked at World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment for two decades. Ru Weerasuriya, the studio's co-founder and former CEO, will shift into the role of president and chief creative officer. Alongside the hiring of Sams, Ready at Dawn has also opened a new "business hub" in Austin, Texas. "It is never easy finding someone to take over the reins of a company after this many years, but I cannot think of anyone better suited to guide the team as we look to the future," Weerasuriya said about Sams in a statement. "He is one of the most accomplished, respected, and experienced leaders in our industry." Recent Articles:
