Although the duo have not officially been announced, two short gameplay videos were posted on the Smash Bros. subreddit.
It is worth noting that in April, someone who had been data-mining Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS posted a list of sound files from the game. Included in that list were both Roy and Ryu.
Real or not, it would be wise to treat the leak with a pinch of cynicism, as people have been known to go to extreme lengths to create a believable Smash. Bros fakes in the past. This video of Ubisoft's Rayman being added to the character select screen is a good example.
If it is indeed real, it's likely that Nintendo was planning to reveal the characters at E3 in a few days. Given that the videos show actual gameplay of both characters, they are more believable than other supposed leaks have been in the past.
Assets such as renders for both characters, stages, and alternate colours have also been posted online, giving further credibility to the information. Other noteworthy aspects of the leak include Mii Fighter costumes for Zero,Isabelle, Megaman.exe,Heihachi and Akira.

Of all the major virtual reality headsets, Valve and HTC's Vive is still relatively unknown. Valve has been somewhat secretive about its upcoming SteamVR platform and how the player will interact with it. However, a new article from Ars Technica sheds some light on what Valve is doing to differentiate itself from its competitors.
In the article, the company reiterates its promise to completely eliminate motion sickness and nausea. Motion sickness is one of the biggest problems with virtual reality headsets; the promise of early Oculus Rift prototypes was sometimes overshadowed by user nausea and vertigo. Most people accept motion sickness as an inherent possibility with VR, no matter what the quality of the hardware is, but Valve is aiming for no possibility at all.
That's why the company is helping a team develop a set of sensors that allows the player to walk around naturally, as opposed to using a controller to move a character in a virtual space. Developer Owlchemy Labs is assisting in this process. Alex Schwartz of Owlchemy says that this is integral to his studio's--and Valve's--goals for the Vive. "People instantly think, 'Well, the Oculus said you'll probably be seated, so just hit a button and drive forward,'" he explains. "Cockpit games are gonna be huge, surely. But personally, the direction Owlchemy's taking is a no-nausea approach, period, full stop... Properly designed games in the Vive will get zero percent of the populace sick."
To assist in this process, motion controllers will be "standard and required" for the Vive. This is in direct contrast with Oculus, whose own newly revealed Touch motion controllers will be optional for the headset. It seems that Valve is doubling down on making its headset as immersive as possible, rather than just a 3D head-tracking device for playing normal games.
In the meantime, you can read up on all of the reveals from Oculus' press conference yesterday, and keep an eye on GameSpot for impressions and news about VR during the coming week.
Blizzard will use Heroes of the Storm esports events this summer to test possible ban systems for the newly released MOBA, according to director Dustin Browder.
In response to a question on Twitter about plans to add bans to Team League, the game's most competitive mode, Browder had an encouraging answer. Blizzard "will experiment with some ban ideas in some esport events this summer. Will explore which ban system works best for us."
Beyond that, he didn't offer any details on what those systems might look like, or how soon one might be implemented in the game.
Ban systems are commonplace in MOBAs, particularly in their more competitive modes, where they're considered essential. They allow teams to block certain characters from being used by the other team; this can be important for preventing certain strategies from being leveraged, or to simply stop someone from playing a character they're especially good with. But, like so many other MOBA conventions--last-hitting, buying items, individuals having their own experience--Heroes of the Storm doesn't offer characters to be banned, at least at this point.
In 2006, developer Outerlight released an expanded and improved version of a Half-Life 2 mod. Called The Ship, it features players trying to avoid others while seeking out their target to assassinate. It's similar to Assassin's Creed multiplayer, but it forces you to also monitor needs like food and water while also avoiding guards and cameras.
It's now approaching ten years since its original release, so the game's new owner, Blazing Griffin, has announced that it is making an HD remake of the game. Since The Ship is already on PC and can be played at full 1080p resolution, it's probable that this remake will go into depth to make it look significantly better. You can check out the short teaser below:
The developer hasn't given any specifics about what will be improved, but it says that players can expect it in early 2016. It also says that The Ship: HD is the beginning of an expansion of the franchise. A blog post explains, "Much of the work being carried out for The Ship: HD will also contribute to future projects. We're committed to recreating the experience that fans of The Ship had when they first played the game and look forward to working with the community to this end."
Did you ever play The Ship? Are you excited for an HD remake? Let us know in the comments.
