Captain American Star To Leave MCU After Avengers 4

By Dan Auty on Mar 23, 2018 12:13 am

Captain America star Chris Evans has been hinting that he will be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now, and it seems that the day is almost here. With Avengers: Infinity War hitting theaters next month, Evans has confirmed that next year's currently untitled Avengers 4 will be his final Marvel movie.

The news comes via a profile on Evans in the New York Times. The article states that Infinity War and Avengers 4 were the final two movies left on his Marvel contract and that he has no further plans to continue playing Captain America. "You want to get off the train before they push you off," Evans is quoted as saying.

No Caption Provided

Of course, this isn't the first time that the actor has spoke about leaving the Marvel universe. Last June, he revealed that his contract was actually up after Infinity War, but he signed on for one more movie. "[Marvel] wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter," he said. "They had so many other characters to fit in--Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man--and couldn't get them all into one movie. [I agreed] because it made sense. It's going to wrap everything up."

Back in In 2014, Evans stated that he was hoping to move from acting into directing. "I've known for a while I wanted to direct. But [the time] never really opens up. There's another movie to do, there's another acting job," he said. "I can't see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I'm contractually obligated to do."

There has been much speculation that Infinity War and its sequel will see the death of at least one key member of the MCU. What this means for Captain American is unknown, as both Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) have also spoken about their eventual departures from the series.

Earlier this month, Marvel boss Kevin Feige spoke about the possibility of a major Marvel hero dying. While Feige didn't give any details away, he did confirm that any death would be final for that character. "People always will jump to that," he said. "That's not necessarily what we're talking about. I mean, I could always list off the characters that we've killed in our movies that haven't come back, but the big ones, which I know they're looking at? I would just say, yes. People need to be careful what they wish for."

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27. It also stars Chadwick Boseman, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Josh Brolin, Tom Holland, and pretty up every other major actor from the last decade of Marvel movies. Fortnite Week 5 Challenges Guide: Anarchy Acres Treasure Map, Gas Station Locations

By Chris Pereira on Mar 23, 2018 12:11 am

Fortnite: Battle Royale players once again have a lineup of new objectives to complete. Epic Games has released the Week 5 challenges for Battle Pass owners, offering a new way to obtain some experience and Battle Stars on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Many of the objectives this week are fairly straightforward; they include searching chests in Moisty Mire and using the bush item. Two of the Hard-difficulty challenges are equally straightforward: get three eliminations with a pistol and defeat three enemies in Tilted Towers. Players are also tasked with dealing 200 damage to opponents with a pickaxe. While you can certainly swing away at any enemy, this counts damage dealt to those who have been downed. In other words, completely finish off two people who are in a DBNO state using the pickaxe, and this is easily completed.

There are two other objectives that may require some guidance. The first asks you to visit three gas stations--but the catch is this has to be done in a single match (meaning you should avoid attempting it in Blitz mode). Reddit user __Kaneda__ has published a map highlighting the various gas stations you'll find around the island. Most of these are found in named locations, but some are in smaller areas. Pick any three, run by them during one match, and you'll earn five Battle Stars.

The other more complex challenge is labeled as Hard, meaning you'll receive 10 Battle Stars. It tells you to "follow the treasure map found in Anarchy Acres." The map points you to a location just southwest of Junk Junction, near the western edge of the map. As with past versions of this challenge, you don't actually need to hunt down the treasure map first; if you know where to go, you can simply head right to that point. You can have a look at this map from Reddit user ThePuffyPenguin.

As always, despite being weekly challenges, you have until the end of Season 3 to complete these objectives (see them all below). That's also true for the previous four weeks, as well as the set of freebie challenges that are available even to non-Battle Pass owners.

Aside from simply giving you some focused objectives, completing these challenges allows you to more quickly rank up your Battle Pass. This, in turn, unlocks a variety of cosmetics, XP boosts, and other things that don't directly impact gameplay. You can see everything there is to be earned in our Season 3 Battle Pass gallery.

Fortnite Week 5 Challenges

  • Use the Bush -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Search chests in Moisty Mire (7) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Deal damage with a pickaxe to opponents (200) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Visit different gas stations in a single match (3) -- 5 Battle Stars
  • Hard: Follow the treasure map in Anarchy Acres -- 10 Battle Stars
  • Hard: Pistol eliminations (3) -- 10 Battle Stars
  • Hard: Eliminate opponents in Tilted Towers (3) -- 10 Battle Stars

God Of War PS4 Has Gone Gold

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 23, 2018 12:05 am

One of the most anticipated PS4 games of 2018 has now reached a critical milestone. On Twitter, the official PlayStation account announced that the upcoming God of War has gone gold, meaning the game is now ready to be sent off for manufacturing.

Along with the announcement, game director Cory Barlog shared his thoughts on reaching the milestone and reflected on the game's development in a post on the PlayStation Blog. "Going gold means so much more to me with this game," Barlog said. "It has been a long and exhausting journey filled with laughs, arguments, and a healthy dose of fear--with a side of doubt.

"This was the scariest, most wonderful thing I have ever done and I can honestly say it would never have been possible without the full-throated support of Sony and the tireless work of the incredible team at Santa Monica Studio. We have been through a lot together and I would not change a thing."

Unlike previous entries, God of War for PS4 serves as something of a reboot for the series. The game is rooted in Norse mythology rather than Greek like previous installments and tells a more personal tale focusing on Kratos and his young son, Atreus. It also features a markedly different combat system, as well as a cool one-shot cinematic technique that presents the entire story in one, uninterrupted shot without cuts or fades.

God of War releases for PS4 on April 20. The game is will take roughly 30 hours to finish, making it much longer than its predecessors, and Barlog confirmed it won't include microtransactions. We recently got a chance to talk with Barlog about the game and how God of War learned from The Last of Us.

Toys R Us Liquidation Sales Starting Soon

By Steve Watts on Mar 22, 2018 11:46 pm

Toys R Us is preparing to close all US stores, and as a result, a massive liquidation sale is imminent across its 800 retail locations. CNN reports that the company had planned to begin sales this morning, but those plans have been pushed back to tomorrow, March 23.

Once the sales begin, shoppers will have to move quickly and manage expectations. Stores have reportedly not received new stock in weeks, so a lot of the more popular items may already be gone or will go quickly once the sales begin. Shelves may be emptied as quickly as a month.

Toys R Us has announced it will honor gift cards until April 20. It will also accept purchases made before the liquidation for 30 days, but after it starts, all sales will be final. Toys R Us in the UK is also planned to shut down, while its locations in Asia will continue to operate.

And while it may be thrilling to get a low, low price on those bikes, trains, and video games, you can expect the mood to be somber. 31,000 employees will be laid off by the time the retail chain closes up operations.

68 Cool Images From Deadpool 2's New Trailer

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 11:40 pm

The newest trailer for Deadpool 2 trailer has arrived, and there's a lot to take in. The upcoming sequel to the hit R-rated superhero movie looks to be packing in the blend of action and comedy that made the first one such a success. And while we've already broken down all of the key scenes, there are a ton of cool moments for a video that only lasts about two and a half minutes.

As such, we've gathered up some of the best images from the trailer for you to peruse. While the movie's villain, Cable (Josh Brolin), had already been revealed, we've now gotten an even more extensive look at him, including what kind of threat he'll pose to Deadpool and exactly what he's after. That arm of his is not only good for fighting; he even uses it to slide down the outside of a building.

There's also a variety of other new characters on show, including Domino (actress); Bedlam (confirmed to be the character played by Terry Crews); a young, purple-haired girl; and a young boy Cable is after. That's in addition to returning favorites like Negasonic Teenage Warhead (sporting a new haircut), Colossus, Deadpool's regular taxi driver, Vanessa, Weasel, and Blind Al.

And of course there's Deadpool himself, who continues to use his superpowers in sometimes grotesque ways. We see his neck broken, forcing him to rotate his head 180 degrees so he can resume looking forward. He also takes a gunshot to the hand, allowing him to slide the barrel through the hole so that he can turn his hand and fire the gun at the attacker.

Cobra Kai And Karate Kid Are Coming To Theaters--Watch The New Trailer

By Chris E. Hayner on Mar 22, 2018 11:22 pm

After several teasers, the first full trailer for the upcoming YouTube Red series Cobra Kai has arrived. With the trailer comes news that you'll actually be able to watch the new series in theaters, paired with a screening of Karate Kid.

The one-night-only event takes place on April 25, a week before the YouTube Red original show debuts online. In addition to the film, fans will see the first two episodes of Cobra Kai. Tickets will be available on March 23 through Fathom Events.

As for the trailer, it paints a much better picture of just who the hero and villain are in this revival. While Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) may have been the good fighting against the evil Cobra Kai dojo in the original movie, it seems as though tables have turned.

While former Cobra Kai student Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) is a flawed hero at best, the Cobra Kai trailer shows him to be teaching teenagers to stand up for themselves. Of course, he does it by teaching them to punch and kick their problems away after roughing up a group of much younger bullies, so perhaps he'd be best described as an antihero.

Still, it's impossible not to see Daniel as the villain in this particular trailer. He's turned the lessons he learned from Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) into shenanigans for his car dealership commercials. When Miyagi was teaching his student to wax on and wax off, chances are he didn't expect the young man to use his skills to karate shop prices, while yelling "bonsai."

Naturally, the roles could certainly switch on the series. After all, the trailer clearly teases one final showdown between Daniel and Johnny. The question is who you'll be cheering on when the time comes. Surely, nobody wants to boo Daniel. Given the judgmental man he's grown up to become, though, you might not have a choice.

If you can't see Cobra Kai during its special screening event in theaters, you won't have to wait much longer. The 10-episode first season premieres on YouTube Red on May 2.

Fortnite Adds New Heavy Shotgun On PS4, Xbox One, And PC

By Oscar Dayus on Mar 22, 2018 10:57 pm

Fortnite: Battle Royale has just received a new weapon. The Heavy Shotgun is available now in Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No additional download is required, and nor was there any server downtime to introduce the change. In addition, Fortnite's Save the World mode is getting a new Flame Grill Floor Trap very soon, but it's not yet clear precisely when that item will become available.

Fortnite's latest big patch, update 3.3, was released last week. That added remote explosives, which allow you to place a bomb and then detonate it from a distance. These are ideal for dealing with player-built fortresses, though their introduction does mean smoke grenades have been "vaulted," meaning those are no longer available in-game for the time being. Remote Explosives come in stacks of four, with a maximum of 10.

No Caption Provided

Remote explosives can be found in treasure chests or supply drops, as floor loot, or through Supply Llamas, another of update 3.3's new features. These are essentially treasure chests found in unusual locations that will reward you with good loot.

Fortnite recently launched on iOS, though it remains invite-only for now. While the port does contain a few notable changes from the PC and console versions, a comparison between it and the Xbox One X version shows it's still quite a powerhouse on phones as well. Who Is Terry Crews In Deadpool 2? New Trailer Confirms His Role

By Dan Auty on Mar 22, 2018 10:43 pm

The Deadpool 2 promo that was released last month was typically irreverent, but it provided fans with their first proper look at the upcoming sequel to 2015's blockbuster X-Men spin-off. While most of the teaser focused on Josh Brolin's Cable, there was one surprise addition to the cast, glimpsed very briefly--Terry Crews.

The former football star and Brooklyn 99 actor had never been formally announced as part of Deadpool 2, and it wasn't exactly clear who Crews was playing. The new Deadpool 2 trailer has now cleared up the mystery. While Crews doesn't feature much more than he did in that first promo, we do at least know who he is playing: Bedlam.

Confirmation comes halfway through the trailer, during a montage that shows the heroes that Deadpool is assembling to form the mutant team X-Force. Shortly after a shot of Crews smashing some bad guy into the street, we see Deadpool's hands flicking through a series of photos of potential X-Force members. While the focus is on a man named "Peter," behind that there's Bedlam. Pause the shot and it's definitely Crews--check it out below:

No Caption Provided

In Marvel's comic books, Bedlam--aka Jesse Aaronson--has the ability to project pain and confusion onto his enemies. Whether or not Deadpool 2's version can do the same is unknown, but with Crews in the role, you can bet that he's also very good at hitting. Bedlam first appeared in a 1995 issue of the X-Men spin-off title Factor X, later showing up in the X-Force comic from 1998.

As for the other members of X-Force, no one had been confirmed beyond Domino, played by Zazie Beetz. Beyond that, it's possible that Shatterstar, Anarchist, and Zeitgeist are some of the "morally dubious" mutants that we glimpse, but nothing has been confirmed yet. We've got a full breakdown and a look at all the cool images from the trailer.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 16 and is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde). He replaced Tim Miller, who reportedly clashed with Reynolds over the direction of the movie. Last week it was reported that the film was undergoing reshoots to add more footage of Cable and Domino, who had proven very popular with audiences at test screenings.

Sea Of Thieves Issue Status: CinnamonBeard Server Error, Not Getting Gold, More

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:39 pm

It's release day for Sea of Thieves. Although it had a gradual rollout in various markets around the world, it's now available everywhere, and many players are reporting issues getting online to play on Xbox One and PC, among other problems. Rare has acknowledged the troubles and says it's working to resolve them. [Update 2: Rare has now further discussed the issues facing Sea of Thieves.]

One of the more common problems is an error code called CinnamonBeard. This can pop up when trying to log in and will not let you get online, thereby rendering the game unplayable (or preventing you from joining a group). This was something we also saw during pre-release tests at times, and Rare confirmed it "indicates server capacity issues." In other words, the game's servers can't keep up with demand as too many people are trying to get online.

A support page for the game indicates that your best bet when presented with the CinnamonBeard or BronzeBeard error codes is to quit out of the game completely and relaunch it. That's not guaranteed to resolve the problem, but it is nonetheless worth a try. [Update: Rare has said that it's "temporarily suspending new players joining the game" in order to address the ongoing issues. There's no word on when new people can get online, but that's the reason you may see the error screen below.]

No Caption Provided

"We've got A LOT of eager pirates playing Sea of Thieves right now and due to this some of you may experience issues," the official Twitter account said today. "Our engineers are working hard to investigate and alleviate them." This was followed by a subsequent tweet stating, "We're still hard at work working on issues affecting players trying to connect to the game as a top priority. We'll provide updates when we have them!"

Separately, Rare has confirmed that some players are loading into the game and finding they have no items, gold, or clothing, or that they aren't receiving gold/reputation rewards after finishing a quest. The developer said it's working on this, though there is a workaround that or may or may not work. "Currently the only method of resolving this issue is to exit to main menu & matchmake back into the game. In extreme cases this may need to be done multiple times," a support page states. "The gold and reputation rewards should merely be delayed (can take a while to come through)."

Another, lesser issue of note is a missing pre-order bonus for the Black Dogs pack. In a tweet, Rare said that if you pre-ordered after January 26, the DLC won't be automatically granted to you. Instead, it will be sent through an Xbox Live message that should arrive "soon."

PUBG Mobile Tops Fortnite For No. 1 Spot On App Store And Google Play

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 10:36 pm

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been a phenomenal success on PC since it first launched in Early Access last year, and it's proving to be quite popular on mobile as well. Shortly after releasing on iOS and Android earlier this week, the battle royale game is already topping the charts.

PUBG Mobile has already reached No. 1 on both Google Play and the App Store, dethroning the mobile version of Fortnite: Battle Royale, which was previously sitting at No. 1 on the latter's Free Apps chart. That's an impressive debut considering the game launched by surprise earlier this week, following a few rounds of beta tests restricted to Canada.

Unlike the mobile version of Fortnite, PUBG Mobile is available to all players with an iOS or Android device, which has undoubtedly played a part in its quick ascent to the top of the charts. Currently, only select iOS users have access to Fortnite, as players have to sign up for a chance to take part in the game's invite-only test. It also helps that PUBG Mobile can be downloaded for free, unlike the PC or Xbox One versions, both of which must be purchased.

If you're interested in jumping into PUBG on mobile, iOS users can grab the game here, while those with an Android device can download it here. The game features the same 100-player experience as on PC and Xbox One and works surprisingly well on mobile. However, if you find yourself have considerably more success in the mobile version, it's likely because you're playing against bots.

New Rainbow Six Siege Update 1.1 Released; Patch Notes Detailed

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:29 pm

Rainbow Six Siege received a major update, Chimera, in early March to kick off Year 3 of the game. The first patch since then is now rolling out on PC, with a PS4 and Xbox One release to come later this week. Unlike the Chimera update, however, this one deals primarily with fixing things, rather than introducing new content.

Ubisoft has reset its patch numbers for the start of Year 3, making this patch 1.1. It makes changes to both the standard game and the ongoing limited-time Outbreak mode. Many of the adjustments don't directly impact gameplay, such as overlapping text in the shop menu and equipped cosmetics resetting to the default options when your connection is lost. Others are just funny, like Ash's eyes not being aligned correctly on the MVP screen while wearing the Sidewinder Elite uniform.

Other, more serious problems are addressed. That includes characters being invisible when a last-minute Operator change is made and the missing revive icon and timer when a hostage is in the DBNO state before being escorted. R6 Credits not showing up after they're purchased has also been resolved.

On the Outbreak side, the bugs addressed are not terribly serious for the most part, although turrets will no longer be rendered unusable (and unable to be picked up) when they run out of ammo. Additionally, Buck will be able to refill the ammo for his Skeleton Key while his secondary weapon is equipped.

You can check out all the changes in the patch notes below, which were shared on Ubisoft's website. We recently took a look at how Siege got so big, and if you're looking for some suggestions, we have tips on the best Operators for beginners and the best Operators for experts.

Nintendo Switch Getting Ark: Survival Evolved This Year

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:28 pm

Dinosaur survival game Ark: Survival Evolved has already made the transition from PC to consoles, and later this year, it will also make move to something a bit more portable. Developer Studio Wildcard has announced a Nintendo Switch version of the game is officially in the works.

Details on the Switch edition of Ark are currently scant, but Wildcard confirmed it will offer the same suite of features as the existing console versions on PS4 and Xbox One. The game is due out on Switch sometime this fall as a physical and digital release. It was showcased during an Epic Games keynote during the Game Developers Conference this week

Ark quickly became a major success story after it launched on Steam Early Access in mid-2015. An Xbox One version, released through the Game Preview program, followed later that year, and it's continued to add new features and content in the intervening period. A full release followed on PC, PS4, and Xbox One last year. Although it pales in comparison to something like PUBG (as most games do), it's consistently among the most-played games on Steam.

No Caption Provided

Just recently, Wildcard announced that a free-to-play mobile version of Ark is also in the works. That release is being handled by War Drum Studios, the same developer responsible for a number of Rockstar's mobile adaptations, including GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA: San Andreas. The first invites for the iOS beta have just been sent out.

After Being Pulled, PS4 Yakuza 6 Demo Returns (With A Free Theme)

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:28 pm

When Yakuza 6 was delayed, the sting was eased somewhat by news that we'd be getting a demo to play in the meantime. This would allow players to check out the upcoming game's prologue and then transfer their progress to the full game. It turns out that, through a glitch, players could access and play the entire game through the demo, forcing Sega to pull it from the PlayStation Store.

The demo has now been fixed and is back on the store for PS4 owners to download--grab it here. It's still a huge download--36.53 GB--and allows you to carry your save game file into the final version of Yakuza 6 once it's released. You just won't be able to play past the opening stages using this demo.

In addition to the demo, there's also a free PS4 theme for users to pick up on PSN here. This is not directly related to the demo, so if you are planning to wait for the full release to play, you can still grab the theme. It's called a "locations" theme and is a dynamic one that showcases--you guessed it--various spots you'll visit in Yakuza 6.

Yakuza 6 originally released in Japan back in December 2016 and is finally due out in the West on April 17. In our Yakuza 6 review, Edmond Tran says the game "reins in its scope, but doubles down on what has made the series great. It's a unique and fascinating representation of the modern Japanese experience, worth playing even if you're a newcomer." Next up for the series beyond this is Yakuza Kiwami 2, a PS4 remake of Yakuza 2 that releases in August.

New Rainbow Six Siege Operators May Have Leaked

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:27 pm

The latest Operators for Rainbow Six Siege were only released earlier this month, but already players are looking ahead to what's next. We know we can expect more new Operators in the next seasonal expansion, but it appears we've now gotten an early first look at them courtesy of some sleuthing by fans.

As shared on Reddit by user Mr_Donald_Duck, images and names of two Italian Operators have been discovered in the PC version's files. Essentially, we get placeholder images that show what each character looks like and what their name is--Alibi and Maestro. Alibi is seen flanked by two translucent silhouettes that resemble her, while Maestro is seen with some kind of backpack and shotgun shells hanging from his chest.

Prior to this, Reddit user Artex3 shared information from the game files that may have hinted at what kind of gadgets to expect from the Operators that we now know are likely to be Alibi and Maestro. These included references to holograms, decoys, and bulletproof cameras. The former two seemingly match up with Alibi's picture and suggest she'll be able to fool enemies with fake versions of herself. Maestro, then, would be left to reinforce cameras.

Bear in mind that these leaks may not necessarily turn out to be what we see from Season 2 of Year 3, and that things could always change. But it's not uncommon for details on new Operators to leak in advance of Ubisoft officially revealing them.

Rainbow Six Siege received the big Chimera update earlier in March to kick off Year 3 of the game. That included two new Operators and the limited-time co-op Outbreak mode, which is playable until April 3. We don't yet have an official date for when the next season begins, but a new Rainbow Six Siege update was just recently released.

Terrific Trailer For It Follows Director's New Movie Reveals A Conspiracy Hunt

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:25 pm

Three years removed from the excellent It Follows, writer and director David Robert Mitchell is preparing to release his new film, Under the Silver Lake. It's perhaps a bit more comical than expected, but it looks to be a movie worth keeping an eye on.

Under the Silver Lake follows Sam (Andrew Garfield), a young man who is quite taken with his neighbor, Sarah (Riley Keough). When he finds out that she allegedly moved in the middle of the night, Sam is unsatisfied and pursues answers--which turns into a hunt to decipher secret clues hidden in broad daylight.

"Why do we assume that all of this information is what we're told it is?" Sam says in the trailer. "Maybe there are people who are out there who are more important than us... more powerful than us, who are communicating things in the world that are meant for only them, and not for us."

Under the Silver Lake also stars Topher Grace and it releases in theaters on June 22. It marks the third feature-length movie directed and written by Mitchell after It Follows and The Myth of the American Sleepover and the latest movie from A24, the studio behind Lady Bird, The Disaster Artist, and Ex Machina.

Avengers: Infinity War's Chris Pratt Sure Likes Working With Robert Downey Jr.

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:25 pm

It's surely a cool experience to be involved as a major actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether because of the money, fame, or whatever else. If you're Chris Pratt, who plays Guardians of the Galaxy lead Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, the highlights of the experience also apparently include getting to work with Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.

In a new interview with Empire Magazine (via ComicBookMovie), Pratt sung the praises of Downey and shared some of the perks of getting to work alongside him. "Man, he set a really amazing tone," Pratt said. "He's a bit like Tony Stark himself. I think a lot of what makes Tony Stark are the same qualities that make Downey great. I think Downey is about as rich as Tony Stark now. [Laughs]

"He really takes care of the actors around him in a way I've never seen before. I was a little under the weather and pushing really hard on the days I was working. He came up to me and said, 'You doing alright?' I said, 'Yeah, I've got a little sore throat.' Within 10 minutes, there was a person here giving me all these herbs and taking care of me. He offered me the use of his trailer where I could sit down and use some of his hi-tech healing gadgets. It was amazing. I'm living my best life."

Pratt also recalled how, when he was first cast in Guardians of the Galaxy, he heard from Downey before anyone else. "When I first arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Downey was the first to call and tell me, 'Hey man, welcome. If there's anything you need, I will help. There are so few people on the planet who are going through what you're going through right now. I have, so I'm here. I'll always answer the phone.' I feel completely empowered to pay it forward with Tom [Holland, who plays Spider-Man] or Chadwick [Boseman, who plays Black Panther]. I'm not saying that I'm senior to them, other than I got that experience of opening a movie with Marvel and being along for the ride. Now I just really feel compelled to offer them, even if it's a fraction of what Downey was able to offer me, and just say, 'Anything you need, you let me know.'"

If Downey has treated everyone this way, he likely spends a lot of time on the phone--the MCU has grown vast, and Avengers: Infinity War is set to bring together a huge number of characters. Based on what we've seen so far, it's unclear how significantly it will feature either Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) or Ant-Man (Paul Rudd). It will, however, include Peter Dinklage in an as-of-yet unconfirmed role. For more on what to expect, check out our breakdown of the newest Infinity War trailer and our recap of where all the characters are. Infinity War releases on April 26.

New Men In Black Spin-Off Movie Reunites Thor: Ragnarok Co-Stars

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:24 pm

We may never get the Men in Black and 21 Jump Street crossover movie that was in the works for some time, but that doesn't mean fans of the former are out of luck. A new reboot spin-off of the Men in Black film franchise is in the works, and it'll star two of the leads from Thor: Ragnarok.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Men in Black reboot will star Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who recently worked together on Thor: Ragnarok (where they played Thor and Valkyrie, respectively). It's being directed by F. Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious, Straight Outta Compton) and written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who served as the screenwriters on the original Iron Man. It's set for release on June 14, 2019.

No Caption Provided

The report compares this reboot to what happened with Jurassic World. It will build on the existing world from the Men in Black movies starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones but without featuring the actors or their characters.

Specifics on the plot remain unknown, though THR says its sources indicate "the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope." That could mean you can expect other big-name actors to be announced in the future, though there's no official word on that as of yet. We'll report back as we learn more.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Update Makes Big Changes To How The Game Works

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:23 pm

Star Wars Battlefront II is a gorgeous game that addresses many of the fan requests after the previous Battlefront, such as bringing together characters from multiple Star Wars eras. But its progression system was deeply flawed, even with the last-minute removal of microtransactions just before its launch.

A newly released update completely rethinks how Battlefront II progression works, and we took a look at it in our latest livestream, a replay of which you can watch above. We recap what was so troubling about how the game originally worked and then explore the way things work now.

Among other things, all heroes and hero ships have been unlocked for all players. Crates (the game's loot boxes) are now home only to credits and cosmetic items, rather than anything that affect gameplay--things like Star Cards and weapons are now unlocked through gameplay. However, anything you unlocked previously is still available to you, regardless of how you obtained it.

Microtransactions are still not in place, although this update paves the way for their return. In April, you'll be able to use real-world money to purchase Crystals, which can then be spent to purchase cosmetic skins (which don't impact gameplay in any way). These skins will also be obtainable with credits.

Beyond the changes to progression, the new update makes a variety of balance changes and other tweaks, which you can read about in the patch notes. The update is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Sea Of Thieves Guide: Important Tips On How To Get Started

By Chris Pereira on Mar 22, 2018 10:21 pm

For better or worse, Sea of Thieves is a game that grants players a lot of freedom. While there are quests and goals, you aren't led by the hand with an objective marker from one place to the next. You can go where you want and do what you want, but with that level of flexibility, actually getting started can be a bit overwhelming.

That's where we come in. With the Xbox One and PC game now available, we've put together some advice on exactly how to get started. In the video above, we explain what to do when you first get into the game and highlight the differences between the three faction: Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, and Order of Souls. You'll see us take on a quest for the Order of Souls to hunt down a captain, and we run through the basics of piloting a ship--a process that's more involved than simply grabbing hold of the wheel and hitting the accelerator.

Sea of Thieves is the latest game from Rare. It's a console exclusive on Xbox One, though digital copies enjoy Play Anywhere support, meaning you can play it on both Xbox One and PC. More notably, it's the first game to launch day and date through Xbox Game Pass. In other words, you don't actually have to purchase the game to play it--for as long as you're a Game Pass member, you'll be able to play.

The game's launch has unfortunately been less than smooth for many people. Numerous launch issues have impacted the game, including those which prevent players from getting online to play and some that cause a delay before receiving rewards. Rare has acknowledged the problems on its website and says it's working to resolve them, but fixes may take some time.

Smash Bros. Tournament Will Be Held At E3

By Steve Watts on Mar 22, 2018 10:17 pm

Nintendo is holding a Smash Bros. invitational tournament at E3, giving our first look at competitive play on the Switch. The tournament will take place June 11-12 in Los Angeles at E3, which kicks off on June 12. Given Nintendo's tendency to debut its E3 announcements in a Nintendo Direct just before the show kicks off, it's likely that our first look at Smash Bros. for Switch will come just before the exhibition tournament.

Running alongside the Smash Bros. tournament will be the first Splatoon 2 world championship since its launch last year. Nintendo is hosting US and Canada online qualifiers through Battlefy. Open qualifiers will take place April 21 at 11 AM PT, and finals will wrap up on April 28 at 8 AM PT. The competition will test your skills in both Turf War and Ranked Battle modes. Teams of four must be composed of players age 13 and up. You can check out full rules and registration information if you want to throw down some ink.

Hosting tournaments at E3 is becoming an annual tradition for Nintendo. It brought back the Nintendo World Championships in 2015, which promoted both Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. Last year it hosted tourneys for Splatoon 2 and Arms on Switch, before either game was released. Those all worked well as promotional events, but Smash Bros. has a vibrant competitive community that predates Nintendo's official involvement. In fact, Nintendo's relationship with fan tournaments was even contentious at times, before it turned a corner and allowed competitive play. Now the company seems to be embracing it fully.

Despite a brief look at some silhouettes in the debut trailer, we don't know very much about the roster for this iteration of Smash Bros. We do know who we'd love to see make the cut.

Deadpool 2 Trailer 2 Is A Seriously NSFW Blast

By Dan Auty on Mar 22, 2018 10:17 pm

The new trailer for Deadpool 2 is here. The sequel to 2015's hugely successful X-Men spin-off hits theaters on May 16, and after months of unconventional marketing, we finally have a more traditional look at the new movie.

As well as star Ryan Reynolds, the trailer features all the characters who are returning from the first film, including Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), Weasel (T.J. Miller), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), and Dopinder (Karan Soni).

But there's also plenty of footage of the new additions to the cast, most notably Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino. It also hilariously references the superhero team X-Force from Deadpool comic books, and contains all the violence, gore, dark humor, and bad language that you'd expect--so be warned. Check it out above.

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde). He replaced Tim Miller, who reportedly clashed with Reynolds over the direction of the movie. Last week it was reported that the film was undergoing reshoots to add more footage of Cable and Domino, who had proven very popular with audiences at test screenings.

In a recent interview with Collider, Brolin spoke about the physical challenges of playing Cable. "I got beat to s*** on that movie," he said. "I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place. I've got a shoulder issue, I've got a knee issue that I've got to deal with now, but we got through it. We got through it. I pushed hard and I suffered because of it."

On top of those games, players will be able to pick up some intriguing original titles like A Way Out and the crime-solving Pokemon game Detective Pikachu on 3DS this month.

Like most of the puffball's previous adventures, Star Allies is a side-scrolling platformer through the colorful world of Dream Land, which is under attack by a dark new force. A Way Out (PS4, Xbox One, PC) -- March 23

EA's innovative co-op game, A Way Out, arrives on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 23. What makes the game unique is that it can only be played cooperatively, either locally or online, as both players need to work in tandem to outrun the police and survive outside of prison.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (PS4, PC) -- March 23

After several delays, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is finally slated to arrive on PS4 and PC this month. The game also features a completely revamped battle system, as well as kingdom-building and real-time strategy elements.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con With A Real D-Pad Coming From Hori

By Steve Watts on Mar 22, 2018 09:40 pm

Nintendo's official Joy-Con controller for the Switch lacks a proper D-pad, instead using face-buttons so that it can be turned on its side for select games. If you've been itching for a proper cross-style D-pad, though, third-party manufacturer Hori has announced a solution.

A tweet from Hori Japan promotes the alternative Joy-Con, displayed in a navy blue with the D-pad front and center. It says that the product is coming in July to Japan, though no release date has been announced for the west. This would be Hori's fourth Switch controller accessory, having produced a Pro-like controller, a Pokken Tournament pro pad, and an arcade fight-stick.

The lack of a D-pad has been too much of a burden on Nintendo's latest system. It recently had the best first year of any console, and has announced plenty of software for its second year, including a new Smash Bros. The success is allowing Nintendo to explore its experimental side as well with upcoming projects like Nintendo Labo.

Nintendo Wants To Make Switch's Eshop Better, Easier To Use

By Justin Haywald on Mar 22, 2018 09:30 pm

The Nintendo Switch's success over the last year is due mostly to its award-winning first-party content (Breath of the Wild just won yet another game of the year award at GDC) and the influx of major third-party support. But even before the launch of its latest console, Nintendo has stealthily built up a library of intensely good indie content as well. This trend started with the eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but Nintendo's Switch marks the company's entry as one of the frontrunners in indie game support.

At GDC this year, we got to play several of the titles that Nintendo is publishing on Switch under its Nindies umbrella--check the site later this week for a roundup of those and other great games at the show. But in the meantime, here's a quick conversation with Damon Baker, senior manager from Nintendo's publisher and developer relations team. In this chat, we talk about how the 3DS is still a priority, future eShop improvements, and how games end up on the eShop in the first place.

GameSpot: It feels like in a lot of ways that Switch has become the new "home" of indies. It's taken the mantle that I feel like was previously held by PlayStation; now so many indies are coming to Nintendo.

Damon Baker: Yeah. We feel really fortunate. We've got a nice home, and I think there are a few factors that are helping with that gravitation towards the platform. Making the dev tools easily available and accessible, the environment of certification, the marketing initiatives and promotions that we put behind it like the [Nindies video presentation], and other executions. Everything is lining up there.

Adding to that, with Nintendo Switch you have the flexibility of playing a game the way that you want to play it, on-the-go or at-home features and functionality; it is just this amazing playground of things to experiment with for the indie community. And they wear their passion on their sleeves, so it is very infectious, and it's easy to get behind that type of enthusiasm.

The 3DS has also been a great home to indies over the years. Is that still a priority, or has it shifted over to Switch?

The emphasis is definitely on Nintendo Switch these days. We still have an open dev environment for Nintendo 3DS, but there are limited marketing and promotional opportunities there.

3DS is still a priority from a hardware perspective and for packaged software, and we still have third-party support there across the board. But in terms of the indie community in general, it feels like it is a little bit easier to get that content up and running on a Nintendo Switch. Some of that has to do with the architecture of the hardware, developing for one screen versus two screens, and different controller inputs and control schemes. I think it has been an easier proposition for developers to gravitate towards Switch.

You've touched on this before, but the eShop is sometimes a little hard to navigate. You mentioned that there are improvements coming?

Absolutely. Full disclosure, the Nintendo eShop from the very beginning was meant to be a transactional destination and not a merchandising destination, but over the course of this last year we have been able to improve on that and so be able to have some areas to not only focus on new releases but on best sellers and sales and some of this low-hanging fruit.

But, as I mentioned, in the presentation, it is really a concerted effort to acknowledge the feedback that we've been hearing from the community and our responsibility is now to make sure that we are improving both on- and off-device processes so that we can encourage clean visibility and discoverability for the content that is relevant to each user.

Could you clarify transactional versus merchandising destination?

Yeah. Basically the eShop was built as a destination where you make your purchase, where you already know the game that you want to purchase. You go there, you click on it, and you pay for it. Rather than it being a place where you're perusing to find the latest and greatest things. That is evolving over time and part of it has to do with just evolving with the hardware and prioritizing some of those things along with the other system updates that are coming to fruition. But it is encouraging that the voices and the user feedback has been heard internally and steps are being taken to acknowledge that.

What is the approval process like for bringing indies on? I am sure it's not just an open gate where you'll take everybody.

It is not. It is actually a closed dev environment for Nintendo Switch. There is a review process; we encourage prospective and interested developers to submit a pitch--an overview of their game--but we also like to see background on them as a developer in terms of their experience and their amplitude for navigating a dev environment on consoles. So, once we look at all of that, then we review that and we either push the button or not.

Each region is responsible for its own development community. So, our counterparts at NOE are handling Europe and over at our head office at NCL are handling Japan and Asia.

How are sale prices decided? Do you leave that up to the developer or is that something that you guys control?

All pricing is controlled by the developer and the publisher. We don't have any say on that. Same with release date; if it's considered a huge priority and a huge impactable opportunity, then we might collaborate on, "Okay, this day would be great for us to work together on." In terms of pricing, we don't have any input on that.

In terms of promotions, though, we do collaborate with our partners if they are looking at putting some sort of pricing promotion together. There is an example earlier this year where a bunch of indie developers got together and created their own pricing promotion and they combined their efforts and did an AMA on Reddit. That was really cool to see that grass roots approach to a promotion, and then we amplified that through our channels as well. There are a lot of different approaches.

What is really encouraging though is that a lot of our partners are looking at what is resonating on the Nintendo eShop to help them determine the appropriate price for their content. The list that we put up earlier in terms of the top indies, the majority of those are premium-priced digital games. They are anywhere from like 20 to 30 bucks. Which is cool because it means that there is no real race to zero at this point, that it is really quality based and the Switch fan base is willing to invest towards having a premium experience.

PUBG Adds Fortnite: Battle Royale-Like Limited-Time Game Modes

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 09:23 pm

While Fortnite's free Battle Royale mode was clearly inspired by PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, one of the ways it sets itself apart is by offering limited-time game modes. These special events are only available for a few days and introduce a unique twist on the typical gameplay, like the ongoing Blitz mode that features shorter match times than usual. Now, PUBG is following suit and offering its own limited-time modes on PC.

In a post on the Steam forums, developer PUBG Corp. announced it is adding a new Event Mode to the popular battle royale game. Just as in Fortnite, PUBG's Event Mode will periodically introduce new types of matches that aren't typically available to play, and they'll only appear in the rotation for a limited time.

PUBG's first special Event is available this week, although it's fairly mundane, as the developer says it only recently implemented the system and needs to "test the basics" first. The mode allows up to eight players on a team and doubles the drop rate of the rifle.

"We know it's not a huge change from the public matches but as mentioned above, this is just to get things rolling," PUBG Corp. said. "The future of the Event Mode holds exciting things!"

The event is available to all PUBG players on PC; however, PUBG Corp. says the "first iteration" will be limited to the Erangel map in third-person perspective in order to "ensure effective matchmaking." You can read more details about the new Event Mode on Steam.

Burnout Paradise Remastered Is Already On Sale For PS4 And Xbox One

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 08:00 pm

Last week marked the release of Burnout Paradise Remastered, an updated version of EA's popular 2008 racing game. Despite only just launching, however, players already have a chance to pick it up at a discount.

As part of GameStop's big Play Days sale, Burnout Paradise Remastered is on sale right now for both PS4 and Xbox One. The game typically retails for $40, but for a limited time, you can grab it on either console for $30.

The Play Days sale is only available until April 1, giving you a few days to take advantage of its many game deals. In addition to Burnout Paradise Remastered, the sale encompasses a variety of other new and recently released titles--including Monster Hunter World, Call of Duty: WWII, and Destiny 2--as well as various collectibles and accessories. You can find the full list of discounted items on GameStop's website.

Burnout Paradise Remastered launched for PS4 and Xbox One on March 16, with a PC version slated to follow later this year. It includes a significantly improved version of the original Burnout Paradise, along with eight add-on packs plus the Legendary Cars pack, which introduced vehicles from movies such as Back to the Future and Ghostbusters.

GameSpot called Paradise "a superbly fun racer" and awarded it a 9/10 in our original Burnout Paradise review. Critic Alex Navarro wrote at the time, "Developer Criterion has invented a world wonderfully suited to Burnout's nature, a city built exclusively to cater to your destructive whims. And while a few design hitches here and there get in the way now and again, by and large Burnout Paradise delivers an experience that is both true to the Burnout name and wonderfully fresh-feeling all at once."

You Can Still Buy An Xbox One X And Get Sea Of Thieves Free For A Limited Time

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 08:00 pm

Microsoft's open-world pirate game Sea of Thieves made its anticipated debut this week. If you're considering picking it up but don't yet have an Xbox One (or have been thinking about upgrading to the more powerful X), the company has announced a new promotion that may pique your interest.

For a limited time, players who purchase a new Xbox One X from participating retailers will receive a digital copy of Sea of Thieves for free. The Xbox One X typically retails on its own for $500 and does not come bundled with any titles, making this a good opportunity to pick one up along with one of the console's most anticipated exclusives of 2018 at no additional cost.

The promotion began in "most Xbox markets" on March 18 and will be available through March 24, giving you only a few days to take advantage of the offer. However, Microsoft notes that the exact start and end dates may vary depending on the region and advises players to check with their local retailers first. You can find more details about the promotion on Major Nelson's blog.

If you're more interested in the cheaper Xbox One S, Microsoft is also offering a Sea of Thieves Xbox One S bundle, which launched alongside the game this week. It retails for $300 / £250 and includes a digital copy of the title, a 1 TB Xbox One S, an Xbox One controller, and one-month subscriptions to both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.

Sea of Thieves released for Xbox One and PC on March 20. It is also now available to play on Xbox Game Pass, thanks to Microsoft's new initiative to bring all first-party releases to the service day the day they launch. You can read what we think of the game so far in our Sea of Thieves review in progress. You can also read the 10 reasons we're excited for Sea of Thieves and our tips on how to get started.

Get Three Free Starter Pokemon For Ultra Sun And Moon Right Now

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 07:45 pm

In addition to this month's free Legendaries for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, players can claim three more rare Pokemon right now for no charge, provided you have a Pokemon Bank account on 3DS. The Pokemon Company is giving away the final evolved forms of the Alola starters--Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina--as a free bonus for using Pokemon Bank, and these are a little different from the ones you can get in-game.

Unlike typical Alola starters, each of these Pokemon comes with their Hidden Abilities, which cannot normally be obtained in the games. Decidueye's Hidden Ability is Long Reach, which allows it to use moves without making contact; Incineroar's is Intimidate, which lowers your opponent's Attack stat on entering the battle; and Primarina has Liquid Voice, which turns all sound-based moves into Water-type attacks.

The free starters can be downloaded in any seventh-generation Pokemon game (Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon or Sun and Moon). After inserting your game of choice into the 3DS, access the Pokemon Bank app and you'll receive a notification that the gifts are available. You must then turn the game on and pick the starters up from the deliveryman waiting inside any Pokemon Center.

Pokemon Bank is a premium cloud storage service that allows players to store and move Pokemon between all sixth- and seventh-generation 3DS Pokemon games. The service carries an annual fee of $5 / £4.49. Fifth-generation Pokemon can also be transferred to Pokemon Bank via a companion app called Pokemon Transporter.

Pokemon fans have a lot of free Pokemon to look forward to this year as part of the Year of Legendary Pokemon celebration. Each month in 2018, The Pokemon Company will give away a free Legendary for the seventh-generation Pokemon games. March's freebies are Regigigas and Heatran. Players in Europe can download the Legendaries right now via Mystery Gift, but those in the US will receive their codes in the March Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter, which you needed to sign up for by March 1.

Here's Every Free Pokemon For Ultra Sun And Moon Available Right Now

By Kevin Knezevic on Mar 22, 2018 07:45 pm

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon launched for 3DS back in November, marking the mainline series' swan song on Nintendo's dual-screen handheld. As it did for the original Sun and Moon versions, The Pokemon Company is continuing to support the pair in the months following their release with free items and Pokemon. The company has a lot of giveaways lined up for 2018, which it has dubbed the Year of Legendary Pokemon, though those certainly won't be the only freebies players can expect to find this year.

We've rounded up all of the free distributions currently running for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon below, many of which are also open to Sun and Moon players. We'll be updating this list as more giveaways are announced, so check back often to see what free items and Pokemon you can get. In the meantime, you can learn more about the latest Pokemon games in our rundown of everything new in Pokemon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon. We also break down the differences between Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, if you're still unsure of which version to pick up.

Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon Free Gifts

Regigigas/Heatran -- Mar. 1

The Year of Legendary Pokemon continues with another pair of Legendaries originally from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: Regigigas and Heatran. As before, the Pokemon you receive will depend on which seventh generation title you're playing: Sun and Ultra Sun players will get Regigigas, while those with a copy of Moon or Ultra Moon will receive Heatran. Unlike the Dialga and Palkia distribution, The Pokemon Company is giving away the download code for Regigigas and Heatran in the March Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter, so you'll need to create a free Trainer Club Account here and opt-in to the newsletter before March 1 in order to get the code.

Magearna

Unlike most other gift Pokemon, the Mythical Steel/Fairy-type, Magearna, is not available through the Mystery Gift feature, but via a QR code, which is compatible with Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. After defeating the Elite Four and completing the main story, you can use the QR Scanner to scan the code below. Once you've done that, visit the Antiques shop in Hau'oli City and pick your Magearna up from the deliveryman waiting there.

Celebi -- Ends Sep. 21

Players who purchase either Pokemon Gold or Silver from the 3DS Eshop by September 21, 2018 will receive a bonus download code for the Mythical Pokemon Celebi. The code can be redeemed in Pokemon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon. We've outlined the steps you need to take to find and redeem the code here.

Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina -- Ends Oct. 31

Players who have a Pokemon Bank account can receive the final forms of all three Alola starters--Decidueye, Incineroar, and Primarina--as a free bonus for using the cloud storage service. What sets these three Pokemon apart from the ones you can obtain in-game is that they each come with their Hidden Abilities, which aren't typically available through normal play. You'll receive a notification about the gifts the next time you access Pokemon Bank, and they can be picked up in your game of choice from the deliveryman waiting in any Pokemon Center.

Past Gifts

Dialga/Palkia -- DONE

Switch Gets Definitive Version Of Well-Received Action RPG Ys VIII This June

The PS4 action-RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is coming to Nintendo Switch this June. Publisher NIS America announced that the game will launch in North America on June 26, with a European release following three days later, on June 29.

The Switch edition of Ys VIII is billed as the "definitive" version of the title, featuring content from both the PS4 and Vita releases, along with their completely relocalized script. Switch owners will also have a chance to pick up a limited Day One Adventurer's Edition, which includes a reversible cover, a foil pack featuring three character cards, and a double-sided poster with heroine Dana on one side and a map of the Isle of Seiren on the other.

Coinciding with the release date announcement, NISA has shared a new trailer for Ys VIII, which you can watch above. The video provides a bit of background on Dana, the mysterious maiden that protagonist Adol dreams of after washing ashore on the Isle of Seiren.

In addition to Switch, NISA has also narrowed down the release window for the PC version of Ys VIII. The game is now slated to arrive for the platform via Steam sometime in April. Further updates on the status of the PC version will be announced on the publisher's blog.

Ys VIII was one of the many upcoming Switch games announced during January's big Nintendo Direct presentation. The game originally launched on PS4 and Vita last September and was well-received, earning an 8/10 in GameSpot's Ys VIII review. Critic Heidi Kemps said the game "delivers an immensely fun and memorable experience" and "will compel you to keep exploring for hours on end."
