The Undertaker has been a staple of Wrestlemania since his first appearance at Wrestlemania VII, when he defeated Jimmy Snuka back in 1991. Since then, he has gone 23-2 in his Mania career with losses coming from Brock Lesnar in 2014 and Roman Reigns in 2017. Now, Undertaker will take on John Cena, and while the match has not been officially announced, there is no way WWE would build up this contest and not have it happen during the company's biggest PPV of the year. And when it finally happens--even though John Cena put his heart and soul into the build--Taker will come out on top.
This whole storyline began with the 25th anniversary of Raw, back in January, where Undertaker showed up and gave a cryptic and confusing segment about... well, we're still not sure. It came off more as the ramblings of a madman vaguely talking about himself with lots of metaphors. You can see it in its entirety in the video below.
That was the last time we saw Undertaker on television, and it didn't make any sense. What was the purpose? Did he want to fight someone at Wrestlemania or did he just want to say "hi" to his fans in the most confusing way possible? From Taker's side of this story, that's all we've gotten.
Meanwhile, John Cena came out on Raw back in February, a beaten man with low morale. He didn't have his own road to Wrestlemania, but he wanted to be on the show. So he cut a fantastic promo and challenged the Undertaker. The crowd went nuts, and even Cena haters could get behind the emotion he put behind his words.
But nothing happened. There was no response from Taker, and week after week, Cena came out and delivered some of the best promos of his career, only to be yelling at an invisible brick wall. In turn, his story quickly became stale and repetitive because there was no response, so all Cena could do was reiterate his message, every week.
Now, according to this story, Cena will be attending Wrestlemania as a fan--hopefully sitting in camera shot, the entire time, eating popcorn and holding a dumb sign--enjoy my interpretation of that below. However, considering how much WWE has pushed this storyline, including writing about it on the company's website, there is no way this match isn't happening. It will no doubt be intended as a "spur of the moment" match during the middle of Mania, possibly with Undertaker returning to his American Badass gimmick.
When this match actually happens, who is going to win? Considering how bizarre this storyline is, with John Cena acting like a bully, this match doesn't have a strong face or heel. It's just two characters in the middle of the road. Given how Undertaker went out last year, beaten down by Roman Reigns in what is one of Taker's worst Wrestlemania matches, I'm thinking Taker will go out on top.
Depending on Taker's level of fitness, John Cena can carry matches when needed, and he's great at making his opponents look better than they are in the ring. You can hate the character all you want, but Cena is a ring sergeant and knows how to put together a great match. It shouldn't be as long as last year's against Roman Reigns, where Taker seemed winded a few minutes in, but it also shouldn't be a squash match. John Cena still needs to look like he's a powerful force in the WWE for the next few years before he leaves the company for good. Don't expect a repeat of Cena/Lesnar from a couple of years ago.
What does this mean for the future of these wrestlers? Well, Undertaker will probably not return to the ring; however, I thought the same thing last year. John Cena will go back to being John Cena on whatever show he feels like appearing on. The match doesn't really mean anything for either character. It's just a match, but regardless of what WWE 2K18 predicted in the video above, this should be Taker's last match--and he's going out on top.
The Road to Wrestlemania is long, tough, and tiring, and not just for WWE superstars. GameSpot has been keeping you up to date with everything revolving around WWE's biggest event in 2018, Wrestlemania 34. This year's edition is coming to you from the Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, April at 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT. Believe it or not, there are still tickets available for the event, with the cheapest going for $50 and the most expensive costing $7,350.
This year's card is extremely stacked, with 14 matches--including Cena/Undertaker--happening over the course of seven hours. One of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the lead-up to Mania is Daniel Bryan being cleared to return to wrestling, which led to him teaming with Shane McMahon to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. In addition, John Cena has been begging Undertaker for a match at Wrestlemania 34 for the past month, and no match has been confirmed yet, but it's totally still going to happen, right?
Here's a collection of our biggest stories revolving around Wrestlemania to get you pumped up for the April 8 event on the WWE Network. Make sure to come back to GameSpot for live coverage of Wrestlemania and individual full match recaps right after they air on Sunday.
On Sunday, April 8, WWE's biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania, will come to a screen near you. Like every year, there are plenty of ways to watch the PPV, from on your TV to your phone, and we have a breakdown for the easiest ways for you.
The best way to watch Wrestlemania 34, which will save you a ton of money, is through the WWE Network. Currently, you can get a month free to the network if you are a new subscriber, and you can cancel after Mania. If you enjoy the programming, you can continue with the WWE Network which offers events, original programming, and classic stuff from WWE, WCW, ECW, and more for $10 a month.
Cable or satellite subscribers can also purchase Wrestlemania through their respective services, as not everyone around the world has access to internet fast enough to live stream the event. However, the cost for Mania can be up to six times more expensive than the streaming service.
In addition to the ways you can watch the event at home, sports bars and restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings play the events as well, but you'll have to check with your local spot as not all participate in the WWE event. Obviously, if you're going to a restaurant to watch a seven hour event, you'll be expected to buy food or drinks, so don't expect this to be a free trip.
If you are planning on staying home for the big event, the WWE Network is available multiple ways. It can be accessed through phones, tablets, or through your PC (both iOS and Windows 10 have apps available). Also, the network app is available on certain smart TVs as well as devices like Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Chromecast. You can watch the network using your Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 by downloading the app through its stores. Sorry Nintendo Switch users, but the WWE Network is not available on the console yet.
Wrestlemania 34 starts on Sunday, April 8 at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT. There is a two-hour Kickoff Show starting at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT with you can watch on the WWE Network and on YouTube. In addition, the second hour of the Kickoff will air live on the USA Network. It's going to be a packed show, as there will be 14 matches on the card, so strap in for a really long day.
If you're planning on watching Wrestlemania 34 on Sunday, April 8, you might want to make sure you have comfortable seat, food on hand, and a bedpan ready because this is going to be one long show. Last year's show--including the preshow--was rumored to run for six and a half hours and actually ran for over seven. This year's Wrestlemania 34 is on track to run just as long, if not longer.
According to the upcoming schedule on the WWE Network, Wrestlemania's Kickoff Show will start at 5 PM ET and run for two hours. Then, at 7 PM ET, Wrestlemania will begin and is slotted to run until 12 AM ET. In total, that's 7 hours, but since WWE Network obviously controls its own programming and a replay of the event is scheduled to follow, Mania going over the seven hour mark shouldn't be a problem if the time is needed.
The "Big Four" of WWE PPVs--Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series--all tend to be longer shows, with each of them lasting at least six hours, including the preshows. Mania always pushes the envelope in terms of the amount of time it wants to keep you glued to the television.
While Wrestlemania 33 was the longest WWE event to date, 2018's PPV will surely top that. As of this writing, there are 13 confirmed matches on the card, with at least one more expected to be added this week: John Cena vs. Undertaker. Even though this is going to be a long event, it should move pretty quickly to fit in all these matches.
This year's event will be held in New Orleans at the Superdome, and in addition to Mania itself, WWE will air an NXT Takeover on Saturday and the Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday. It will be a jam-packed weekend, but we have you covered. Make sure to keep checking back with GameSpot during the week for more Mania news and predictions, and come back Sunday for live coverage of the event.
WWE's biggest PPV of the year, Wrestlemania 34, is quickly approaching, and this year's event is going to be jam-packed. As of this writing, there are 13 matches on the card with at least two more to be added between now and Sunday, April 8 when Wrestlemania comes to the WWE Network and PPV.
New Orleans will host this year's event at the Superdome, and already, there have been some huge surprises going in, like Smackdown general manager Daniel Bryan being cleared to wrestle at the show. In addition, actor Macaulay Culkin answered Rusev's open challenge for Wrestlemania, and while that sounds like a blast, we don't think anything will come out of it, but you never know.
Wrestlemania 34 starts at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, with a Kickoff Show more than likely starting two hours prior--WWE has not announced specifics for the Kickoff yet. Last year's event went for six and a half hours, so hopefully, you are watching the event somewhere really comfortable.
Obviously, there is still a match that will be added to the card--John Cena vs. Undertaker. However, we're only delivering the 100% confirmed matches for the upcoming event. Aside from this potential (but basically guaranteed) match, there could be even more surprises, if some of the WWE rumors floating around the 'net come true.
Previous Far Cry games have always sported a diverse roster of weapons, and Far Cry 5 is no different. With so many options available, you're probably asking which weapons are worth purchasing. To help you out, we've highlighted in the video above nine weapons that we believe to be some of the best in the game.
It's also worth noting that many of the weapons you see in the video above are Prestige Weapons, which are higher-priced special skinned versions of normal weapons you can purchase with in-game money or real money. If you'd prefer, you can purchase a standard non-skinned equivalent of the same weapon in the shop for cheaper and without the fancier attachments. Regardless of which version of each weapon you choose to get, we stand by their quality and functionality.
The best weapons in Far Cry 5 include the AR-CL semi-automatic rifle, the SA50 sniper rifle, and the M-79 grenade launcher. Each has their own special uses and functionality. Though, what you choose from our recommendations is also going to depend on your playstyle. After all, someone who specializes in stealth may not find it useful to use the RAT4 rocket launcher. Refer to the video above, as we also offer some tips on how to best use each weapon and which playstyle they're more suited to.
Aside from the ones we mentioned above, the other best weapons in Far Cry 5 include:
SPAS-12 "Flameout"
M60 LMG + M249 LMG
.44 Magnum "Steel and Ivory"
The Magnopulser
What are some of your favorite weapons in Far Cry 5? Let us know in the comments below. And if you're interested in our other Far Cry 5 guides, be sure to check out our feature highlighting nine tips we wish we knew before starting. In other news, Ubisoft released a Far Cry 5 update that improves co-op play and fixes bugs. However, it recently just emerged that a new bug has been discovered that plunges the game into a permanent state of nighttime.
Wrestlemania is quickly approaching. The 34th annual installment of WWE's biggest event of the year takes place on Sunday, April 8, coming to the Superdome in New Orleans. The match card for the event is still being filled out, and there is room for a few more matches.
That being said, there are plenty of rumors drifting around the 'net about additional matches, future plans for wrestlers, and surprise returns of injured wrestlers. One longstanding rumor that came true this past week was Daniel Bryan being cleared to wrestling once again. What else could come true? We rounded up some of the most believable ones coming from wrestling insiders.
Take these rumors with a grain of salt as not all rumors end up coming true. We'll be updating piece throughout the upcoming weeks to let you know what's confirmed and what we heard wrong.
Daniel Bryan's Future
Daniel Bryan has to go in for medical testing after every match. While many are saying Daniel Bryan is the healthiest star in the company, part of the superstar's new agreement requires him to get a doctor's evaluation after every match. (via Cagesideseats) At Wrestlemania, he'll be teaming with Shane McMahon to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The stipulation for the bout is that should Owens and Zayn win, they get their jobs back on Smackdown Live.
Owens and Zayn Will Remain Fired
Should the duo lose their bout to Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 34 and remain fires, they ay will be drafted by Raw. (via Ringsidenews)
Is AJ Styles Injured?
According to Styles himself, he is working through pain at the moment--as many WWE superstars do. However, he claims he is not injured and will be ready to shine at Wrestlemania when he defends the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. (via IGN)
Will Cena/Taker actually happen?
After weeks of buildup, John Cena is heading into Wrestlemania without any actual confirmation that he will be fighting The Undertaker. He called the deadman out multiple times to no response at all and claims he is now going to Wrestlemania as a fan. According to a report, Undertaker has been training for the match for months and will be at Wrestlemania to confront Cena. Whether that means viewers will get the full match Sunday--or merely a challenge for Wrestlemania 35--remains to be seen. (via Cagesideseats)
Big Cass Will Return
Remember Big Cass? He's been injured since Summerslam last year, and apparently, Cass has been telling people his leg has healed up, and he's cleared to wrestle again. It's unclear if he'll be at Wrestlemania this year, even if it's just for a quick spot in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal or perhaps as Braun Strowman's mystery tag team partner. If not Wrestlemania, then Cass could return at Raw the next night. (via PWInsider)
WWE's Plans For Asuka
Get ready for a long Asuka run. She's a shoe-in to win the championship at Wrestlemania against Charlotte, and the plan is for her to defend it for a year, leading to Wrestlemania 35 where she takes on Ronda Rousey. (via WrestlingNews)
The Greatest Royal Rumble On WWE Network
The Greatest Royal Rumble, an event taking place on April 27 in Saudi Arabia, will air on the WWE Network. It will be broadcast live, beginning at 11 a.m. ET, and will include a kickoff show.
[UPDATE 3/26]WWE announced that John Cena will be taking on Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble, and both the Intercontinental and Raw Tag Team Championships will be on the line for the event. Also, Samoa Joe is advertised for the event. Does this mean he'll make his return at Wrestlemania, the Raw after Mania, or will this event be his first show back? Tickets for the event go on sale on March 31.
Hulkamania To Run Wild Again?
Hulk Hogan hasn't been a part of WWE since July 2015, but that could change. Hogan is allegedly in talks with WWE to make his return. As to what he would do in WWE is the real question. With Shane McMahon spending less time on tv and Daniel Bryan going back to wrestling, there are a couple of positions open on Smackdown for a new commissioner or general manager. At this time, WWE stated it does not have a contract with Hogan but it has confirmed it's spoken with him. (via PWInsider)
[UPDATE 3/26] There are plenty of rumors revolving around where Hulk Hogan will fit in WWE if he returns. He's is reportedly being considered to become Smackdown General Manager as Daniel Bryan will go back to wrestling full time. WWE has not released any additional statements regarding Hogan's status.
We'll learn if more of these rumors are true during Wrestlemania weekend, which takes place April 6-8.
Overwatch's next event may be turning back time for its former self Blackwatch, but not all of them are turning to the dark side. Hanzo is one of the few taking a more cleaned up and formal approach with his event-exclusive skin.
Clad in a black and blue pinstripe suit and rolled up sleeves, the Scion Hanzo skin is more than just its dapper and domineering appearance. Scion refers to a descendant of a notable family--and the Shimada clan, to which both Hanzo and Genji belong, is just that.

This year's spring event is similar to last year's Uprising event, but instead of looking into Tracer's first mission, this year's Retribution mission travels eight years into the past as Blackwatch attempts to secure a member of the Talon organization in Venice. Check out all the lore details we know of as this year's Archives event will feature a big story moment.
The Archives event will begin this coming Tuesday, April 10. While Scion Hanzo is the second skin to be revealed after Moira's Blackwatch skin, we expect more to be revealed soon, as 60 new items have been confirmed. You can snag the new skins and cosmetics from this event, and last year's Uprising event, until April 30.
PUBG's new map, Savage, hit test servers earlier this week on PC, and offers players a different kind of battle royale gameplay. The map is 4 km x 4 km, smaller than the game's existing maps, and promises a more close-quarters, faster combat experience. So what are our early impressions of Savage? Watch the video above to see what Jake and Nick have to say about Savage and how it stacks up against PUBG's two existing maps.
While Savage is still in the testing phase and much of it isn't finished, it's clear the game offers you the chance to jump right into the action in the temple or resort areas. Here, you'll get into a gunfight right away. Players can still opt to take a slower approach to the action, starting further out and slowly picking off other players as The Circle closes in. All-in-all, Savage seems to provide the shorter, more intense matches that PUBG has been promising, and feels more comparable to Fortnite that the game's other two maps.
Codes to try Savage are currently no longer available, but developer PUBG Corp. is promising there are more on their way, so you can keep checking the beta site for your chance to play. There's no indication when exactly the new map will go live for all players, just that we can expect it some time during 2018. It was originally only open for Solo play, but PUBG Corp. opened it up to Squads in the middle of the week.
In other PUBG news, the game's developer recently unveiled a new War mode, which is essentially a 'team deathmatch' mode that brings more fast-paced gameplay. PUBG's latest event mode has also begun--Tequila Sunrise pits players against each other in close quarter combat with shotguns and melee weapons as the weapons of choice.
Given the massive popularity of games like PUBG and H1Z1, you might be familiar with the battle royale genre. However, Fortnite: Battle Royale is a tad different from its competitors. The game takes the base premise of the genre and gives you the ability to rapidly construct fortifications, like walls and stairs, allowing you to protect yourself and create your own tactical environmental-based strategies.
Since its debut as a free-to-play mode last year, Fortnite: Battle Royale has been quickly increasing in popularity. As a result, there's no shortage of new players jumping into the game for the first time every day--you might be one yourself. To assist those looking to come out on top, we've detailed in the video above some of the common mistakes new players make, as well as ways to improve.
The most common mistakes we highlight in the video above include:
Not Mapping Building Actions To Hotkeys
Forgetting To Build Under Fire
Forgetting To Knock Down Enemy Forts
Landing In Hot Spots
Forgetting To Share Health Items
Picking The Wrong Weapon
Of course, preparation and being a team player when playing cooperatively are proper solutions to these starting behaviors, but if you want more specific details on each of these points, be sure to watch the video above.
These past few years have yielded an amazing roster of games that we personally love. With so many fantastic experiences out there, we began to grow curious over what games developers particularly enjoy. During our time spent at this year's GDC, we had the opportunity to interview a wide variety of game developers and key figures in the industry, so we decided to ask what current game they find inspiring and admire the most, and why.
As you'll see from the responses below, the games each developer adores might not come as a surprise to you, especially if you're familiar with their work or tastes. Others had some surprising picks that you probably wouldn't expect. What current games do you admire the most? Let us know in the comments below. And be sure to check out feature detailing the 25 best games you might've not heard of that we saw at GDC 2018.
Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, Directors of Cuphead
Jared Moldenhauer: I have a library of 100+ games that I'm working towards currently. But one of the earlier games that I chose and found very rewarding was Hollow Knight. It's an interesting and challenging Metroidvania. And the visuals and the universe that they created, and the feeling within all the characters; I was happy playing every minute of it.
Chad Moldenhauer: I recently started and really enjoy The Witness. I was looking forward to that for a long time!
Yoshinori Terasawa, Danganronpa Series Producer
Yoshinori Terasawa: I love the Persona series. I adore the sense of personality that those games have. I really like how cool and stylish they are.
Rami Ismail, Producer of Nuclear Throne
Rami Ismail: So many games have really sparked me. Games that really stand out to me are Engare and Farsh, by Mahdi Bahrami, both games based on this Iranian heritage. I was very impressed by This War of Mine, which gives a unique perspective on war. Just seeing that tremendous shift in perspective translated into a game that is so powerful and poignant, that reminds me that there is so much more out there.
Tom Kaczmarczyk, Producer of Superhot
Tom Kaczmarczyk: Our game director [Piotr Iwanicki] who actually came up with the idea, he often cites an indie flash game called, Time4Cat, as one of the inspirations, because it did have the same sort of time automation mechanic. For me, I love Hotline Miami because of its action sequences. A lot of what we pick up come from action movies, and from the way people design cinematic experiences where you fall into a certain archetype of a situation, and you immediately understand what's going on.
Tim Schafer, Founder of Double Fine (Psychonauts, Brutal Legend)
Jason Roberts: In 2017, I was a big fan of Inside and Night in the Woods; those were big games for me. I'm big on tone, mood, atmosphere. These are important to me. And I love those games. And I also, this year, I think Florence and any game from Annapurna are just very carefully, precisely created with tone and atmosphere. That's what I value.
Dean Ayala, Hearthstone Senior Game Designer + Dave Kozack, Hearthstone Lead Narrative Designer
Dean Ayala: Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. It's a roguelike released back in 1997. A lot of the Hearthstone design team plays it. It's super old-school.
Dave Kozack: It has been in continuous development; it's one of those community projects. That's why the name, Stone Soup. But we played a lot of rogue-likes while we were working on Dungeon Run, and that was one of our favorites. It's just something we keep coming back to as a team. It's a lot of fun.
Ian Dallas, Creative Director of What Remains Of Edith Finch
Ian Dallas: For me, the last game that affected me emotionally in a strong way was Universal Paperclips. A game about clicking on buttons and manufacturing paperclips that I just found myself lost in for 8 hours. It was really like a troubling emotional experience, and it's amazing that it comes out of just text on a webpage. It reaffirms the power of video games and the way that they can teach you things about yourself and about the world that you couldn't really internalize in any other way.
Chelsea Hash, Technical Artist of What Remains Of Edith Finch
Chelsea Hash: Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Their commitment to the multimedia format and drawing from different rendering styles to support their vision was something that I was glad to be able to experience, something that was willing to think outside the box.
Damon Baker, Nintendo Publisher and Developer Relations
Damon Baker: I can't choose one game. It is like choosing my favorite child! There are so many different types of experiences. Most recently I am working my way through Night in the Woods. I haven't been able to play that previously, and having a lot of flights lately has given me more flexibility to get through a lot of indie content. Of course, I totally enjoyed Celeste. I vowed not to use assist mode on that game at all and beat it; but it took me 1800 deaths or something to get through it, but it was a beautiful game.
Matt Thornson, Director of Celeste
Matt Thornson: I've been really enjoying my time with Into the Breach. It's amazing!
Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO (World of Tanks)
Victor Kislyi: Civilization. All of them, because I started playing from Civ I. Now, believe it or not, before playing World of Tanks last night I was playing Civilization and I was playing on the plane on my way here. Civ 6 is amazing, and it was my MBA. I'm a physicist by education but, playing Civilization, all those layers, economy, exploration, politics, military, science, religion--your brain is trained to juggle those multiple layers like almost instantly, or at least very, very correctly. And, that's a good analogy with business, people, finance, media, failures, exploration, etc., etc. I think Civilization, as a concept, as a game, actually, is more valuable to humanity than Mona Lisa.
Yoko Taro, Director of Nier: Automata
Yoko Taro: I think that Grand Theft Auto IV and Super Mario Bros. are two big games that influenced me when making Nier. But with games from the past--not modern games--I felt more freedom or challenge as a player. Let's say we have a black background with a white dot on it and let's call it the space. I feel like that really creates freedom, especially in terms freedom of imagination, and challenging the dev team to create a world without really being able to express that world visually. In that sense, I feel that in the past, game developers were trying to create a new frontier. They were trying to expand the world, expand the universe of gaming industry.
Now that the game industry has matured pretty much now, a lot of people actually go for a more safe game. They try to make all the consumers happy with that one game. I think that that actually limits to what they can do and I feel that no one is really trying to expand that arena or expand that world anymore. I am a little bit sad about that.
Takahisa Taura, Designer Of Nier: Automata + Metal Gear Rising
Takahisa Taura: When The Witcher 3 came out, we all played it and had fun with it, but we also looked at it to see what would we do if we created a game like this. We were using The Witcher 3 as a learning experience on how to create an RPG. I think that's where it all started. Well, that's where we came from, so it wasn't too difficult of a task to create a JRPG."
It's pretty well established at this point that Fortnite is popular--like, ridiculously popular. So popular that schools are having to ban it from class, and hip-hop artists and professional athletes are talking about it and playing it. But the hours and hours of gametime that some players are logging is creating a bit of a backlash to the game--and some people have banded together to try and resist it.
Frustrated with how engrossed their loved ones have become with Fortnite, hundreds of people have signed a petition simply titled, "Get rid of Fortnite." Its mission is to ban the game so that significant others' free time can be reclaimed.
As reported by the Washington Post (which, it should be said, is itself evident of Fortnite's popularity), the Change.org petition has accumulated about 730 signatures at the time of this writing. Most express frustration that their loved ones are neglecting them in favor of the game; as Chloe DePalma wrote, "It's taking over our boyfriends lives and brainwashing them."
This petition is obviously meant in jest; Fortnite will in no way be banned, and it's likely that the majority of petitioners know that. But it's a testament to the Fortnite phenomenon that this petition has resonated with many people across social media. As for the anonymous creator of the petition, they updated the change.org site with an explanation that it was started as a joke--and, recently, they've begun playing Fortnite and actually enjoy it.
Conan Exiles has been playable for some time through Early Access on PC and the Game Preview program on Xbox One, but its full launch is rapidly approaching. The open-world action game has a bunch of supernatural creatures as well as various mechanics, such as castle-building.
Recently, we were able to check out Conan Exiles' pre-launch build and see some of its more complex systems. In the video above, you can see gameplay from a castle siege and the scale of combat that you can expect.
Specifically, the video shows off the GameSpot team defending its fortress from enemy players with the help of enormous demi-gods. In the full game, you can also lay siege to cities yourself, utilizing an array of different siege engines. These are pretty high-level, late-game mechanics, however; Conan Exiles' gameplay initially focuses on survival, combat, and crafting.
Conan Exiles fully launches on May 8 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC; it'll be the first time the game is available to PS4 players. It'll cost $30 on PC and $50 on consoles. If you pre-order Conan Exiles, you'll get the Conan's Royal Armor when the game is released.
When developer Psyonix announced a partnership with WWE a few months ago, it mentioned that wrestling-themed items would be coming to Rocket League. Now, we know what those items are, when they'll be available, and how you can get ahold of them.
There'll be 11 WWE items in total coming to the game this week, although you won't be able to get all of them right away. On Sunday, April 8, during Wrestlemania 34, Psyonix will release a special code that'll unlock two random items from the group of 5 banners, 5 flags, and a set of wheels.
The studio also promises that more items will be added later on, and it'll release more codes in conjunction with other WWE events throughout the year. All the WWE items are tradeable, as well. You can see the WWE-themed cosmetics in the gallery above.
This set is the latest in a line of tie-in cosmetic items that Psyonix has released over the past few years; the DC Comics pack was the most recent DLC to be added. It includes a bunch of banners and decals as well as two cool-looking Batmobiles.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 launched to a fairly positive reception last month, due in part to its similarities to the long-dormant Left 4 Dead series. However, many players have also expressed a dissatisfaction with the sometimes punishing difficulty of the game, and developer Fatshark has even acknowledged that the spikes in difficulty need to be ironed out. Recently, the studio released its biggest fix yet for that issue in a new patch that buffs every character and tones down the deadliness of enemies.
Patch 1.0.5 is a sweeping update that touches most parts of the game's combat. Specifically, the five playable characters have all received boosts to many of their skills. Bardin, for example, has the See It Coming perk buffed from granting a 10% dodge range increase to a 20% increase, while Kerillian's Hulon's Tenacity perk now grants a 50% increase to stamina regeneration (up from 30%). There are a lot more changes and buffs to character abilities included in the patch; you can read all of them here.
In addition, Fatshark has significantly modified the way that difficulty levels work and grant rewards. Veteran, for instance, now gives rewards up to 300 Hero Power (up from 200). Meanwhile, Legend and Champion, the two highest difficulty levels, no longer cap Hero Power.
Finally, the studio has also made enemies slightly easier. Marauders are easier to cut through, while Blightstormer Sorcerers have one third less health. On Champion and Legend difficulties, new enemy swarms will less frequently spawn while you're fighting other foes.
Final Fantasy XV got DLC last year consisting of a multiplayer mode, called Comrades, that allows players to team up and take on enemies together. At the moment, Comrades is only available as an expansion to FFXV. But later this year, Comrades will get a standalone release alongside an update that adds raid bosses and battle challenges.
Square Enix announced the news today at its PAX East panel, explaining that players will soon no longer need to purchase the full game to play its multiplayer mode. Comrades allows people to team up to complete quests, defeat enemies, and take on monster-hunting contracts, and this summer it'll get a bunch of new content with the addition of raid bosses and other challenges.
There's no word yet on a price for the standalone Comrades; it currently costs $20 as DLC for FFXV. Square also hasn't announced when it'll be released.
Far Cry 5 has gotten accolades for its appearance, and for good reason. Its graphical fidelity is fantastic, and it features everything from gorgeous vistas to detailed homes and villages. But here at GameSpot, we think that it's possible to make any game look awful.
This week on Potato Mode, we take a hatchet to Far Cry 5's visuals and make it look like a cross between a horror movie and a PlayStation 1 game. Joey and Nick first turn down or off every visual option in the menus, showing what it'd look like if you wanted to run it on, say, a low-end laptop.
However, they're not satisfied with that. Delving into its game files, they thoroughly wreck its graphics, turning it into a glitchy mess full of detextured polygons, dead eyes, and broken shadows. It's a glorious disaster, and you can watch the whole video in the embed above.
You can watch a new episode of Potato Mode every Friday; last week featured Joey and Nick taking Sea of Thieves and turning it into a neon-green nightmare. Also be sure to check out our Far Cry 5 hub for tips, guides, and more on the different modes in the game.
The Pokemon Company is continuing its year-long series of giveaways with another pair of free Legendaries for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. This month, players will have a chance to get the Legendary dogs Entei and Raikou, but they'll only be available for a limited time.

It's the first Tuesday of the month, which spells good news for PlayStation Plus members. That's when the new batch of free games becomes available to everyone who subscribes to PlayStation's online service. While this month's offerings can't live up to last month's killer lineup, players will find plenty of free fun in April.
Leading the pack is the often-overlooked Mad Max, an open-world game about building a destructive car and taking out apocalyptic marauders. In GameSpot's Mad Max review, Peter Brown came away unsatisfied with the ground combat, but thoroughly enjoyed bashing up enemies while behind the wheel of his "Magnum Opus."
The second-biggest game in this month's PS Plus lineup is TrackMania Turbo, which also puts you behind the wheel of a car, but with very different goals from Mad Max. Your job in this arcade racer is to reach the finish line on gravity-defying tracks in as short a time as possible. It's also compatible with PSVR, in case you have a need for speed.
Thanks to PlayStation's Cross Buy functionality, three of the other games also run on PS4. First is In Space We Brawl, a multiplayer twin-stick shooter that also works on PS3. Next is the side-scrolling beat-'em-up 99Vidas, which plays on PS3 and PS Vita as well as PS4. Then there's Q*Bert: Rebooted, which is compatible with all three PlayStation platforms, but unfortunately isn't very good. Finally, PS3 owners get Toy Home, a charming, colorful racing game.
With 18 films over the last decade, there is a lot to remember of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before Avengers: Infinity War hits the big screen. An entire universe of superheroes has been born in the movies. Now, for the first time, they're all banding together to fight a common threat.
Where did they all leave off, though? Take a look at GameSpot's recap of the Marvel Cinematic Universe above, as we delve into the whereabouts of everyone that's been revealed thus far. Most of the MCU's main character's were last seen in Captain America: Civil War, when the Avengers were split down the middle in a dispute between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans). It leaves the status of the super team in question as Thanos (Josh Brolin) comes to Earth in Infinity War.
Meanwhile, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) are still in space in the aftermath of Thor: Ragnarok, not unlike the Guardians of the Galaxy. As that's happening, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is introducing the world to how powerful his home country of Wakanda is, after the events of Black Panther. The technological advancements the country has made due to its rich vibranium sources are bound to have a big impact on the Avengers going forward.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, though. With so many characters to keep track of--including Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly)--Avengers: Infinity War promises to be the most action-packed and busy MCU movie yet.
A new set of Fortnite challenges means a new batch of optional objectives to complete in Battle Royale, provided you own the Battle Pass. Week 7 challenges include two in particular that will require either some legwork on your part or a guide to specific locations--which is where we come in.
The first of these trickier challenges asks you to follow the treasure map found in Retail Row, something that is labeled as a "Hard" objective (meaning you get 10 Battle Stars for completing it). This works identically to other treasure map challenges: You hunt down a map randomly located in the stated area, and it directs you to another location on the map, where you have to collect an item. However, if you know where to go, you can skip the treasure map altogether and go directly to the treasure location.
For Week 7, that means going to the Wailing Woods. If you look at the map, you'll see a part of it that is less densely populated with trees, which is home to a hedge maze. Navigate to the southwestern corner, and you'll find the treasure hidden in a dead end. Walk up and activate it (by holding the same button or key you'd use to open a chest), and the challenge is complete.
More time-consuming is the challenge that wants you to search the Hidden Gnome in different named locations. You'll have to search a total of seven of these gnomes, though you thankfully don't have to do all of this in a single match. There are far more than seven gnomes on the map, so you don't necessarily have to head to specific locations to do this. Anywhere you see a name on the map--Retail Row, Loot Lake, Tilted Towers, et al--you'll find a gnome hiding inside of a building.
As with the treasure, you'll have to hold a button or key (again, the same as opening a chest) to "search" a gnome once you find one. In some cases, such as the one in Junk Junction, you may need to destroy some of the surrounding objects in order to easily access it. Others can be searched without physically seeing it, as is the case with one hiding in a bathroom stall in Greasy Grove. We've assembled the map below and verified it with locations discovered by Reddit user thesquatingdog to help you identify the locations where you can find a gnome.
Check out our complete guide for the remainder of Week 7's challenges. They primarily deal with doing things in specific locations or getting access to the right types of weapons (shotguns and suppressed weapons, in the case of this week). It's also not too late to go back and complete those from previous weeks; Battle Pass owners have the remainder of April to finish all of Season 3's Fortnite: Battle Royale challenges. Earn the Battle Stars for completing challenges, and you'll more quickly level up the Battle Pass and earn its various rewards.
After rumors and leaks, Activision has finally confirmed a remastered version of the original three Spyro the Dragon games is coming. Among the improvements that Spyro Reignited Trilogy boasts are improved graphics, and along with a trailer, we've gotten some comparison screenshots that serve to highlight just how much better this new version looks.
Activision's announcement states the Trilogy features "scaled-up HD graphics" where the more than 100 levels have been "mapped faithfully from the originals, only now re-imagined with modern mechanics to give fans an excellent gaming experience." In terms of visuals, this is described as a "completely remastered" collection with "re-imagined cast of characters, brand-new lighting, animations, environments, and recreated cinematics."
You can see for yourself in the images below just what that translates into. Spyro himself is much more detailed, but it's the improvements to the environments themselves that stand out the most. It looks to be a major upgrade.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy releases for PS4 and Xbox One on September 21. That roughly coincides with the original release of the first Spyro, which debuted back in 1998. It consists of that original game, Spyro the Dragon, along with its two follow-ups: Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (Gateway to Glimmer in Europe and Australia) and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
A release date for World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, had remained something of a mystery since its announcement. We knew it was due out by mid-September, but now Blizzard has finally confirmed an exact date that it arrives on PC: August 14, 2018.
Battle for Azeroth takes a great deal of influence from the early Warcraft games, bringing a renewed emphasis on the Alliance vs. Horde conflict. It takes players to new areas where the two factions will vie to amass naval resources from their respective islands, Zandalar (Horde) and Kul Tiras (Alliance), as they complete new quests and progress through the story.
The expansion also adds 10 dungeons, new Raid zones, and new world quests. There's also something called called Warfronts, which is a 20-player co-op PvE mode meant to resemble classic RTS games. You'll try to build up a substantial force and then attack objectives and deal with enemy commanders.
In terms of your character, the level cap increases to 120, and purchasing the expansion will grant you a level 110 boost for use with a new or existing toon. There are also new playable allied races; Alliance gets the Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves, while Horde gets Highmountain Tauren and Nightborne.
Blizzard also confirmed that, alongside the standard and Digital Deluxe editions, it will offer a Collector's edition for Battle of Azeroth. This will include a hardcover novella, soundtrack, and more.
Far Cry 5 provides you with a vast open world full of enemies to dispatch, and numerous ways with which to do so. Whether it's the wide array of guns, the bow, or a vehicle, there's a great deal of variety for dealing with nefarious cultists. But it's the game's lineup of melee weapons that stand out as the real highlight in combat.
Melee weapons prove to be not just versatile--you can silently take down enemies using them or just smack them right in the face--but also incredibly satisfying. They're not a last resort meant for when you run out of ammo; using them can be a legitimate strategy or simply a fun way to spend some time. It certainly doesn't hurt that you can throw melee weapons for some long-range damage, which is every bit as enjoyable as it sounds.
In the video above, we run through some tips for making the most of Far Cry 5's melee weapons. There are specific Perks that will help you to be more effective, and certain homeopathics that lend themselves to being combined with a melee weapon. And if you're bringing along AI companions, that are some--like Very Good Boy Boomer--that serve as the best complements.
Ubisoft recently confirmed plans for a second year of content for Ghost Recon Wildlands. Now, we have an idea of an exciting addition that may be coming in one of those future updates: some kind of appearance by Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher.
A new teaser trailer has been released that features Fisher speaking about heading to Bolivia, the setting of Wildlands. It also references his relationship with the game's Ghosts, the squad of playable characters. We don't actually hear Fisher's name used, but the silhouette--and accompanying night-vision goggles--leave little doubt about who we're looking at.
Notably, the voice seems to be that of Michael Ironside, the longtime voice actor for Fisher. Ironside was absent from the most recent game, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, with Eric Johnson taking over the role. What this means, if anything, for future Splinter Cell games is unclear.
The teaser video concludes by saying more information will be shared on Monday, April 9, so we don't have long to wait to find out exactly what Fisher's role in Wildlands will be. We know a new update is coming to the game on April 10, but only its additions to Ghost War have been detailed. Each of the four major updates for Wildlands in Year 2 will carry some kind of theme, and perhaps this one will be centered around Splinter Cell. Ubisoft previously offered a Wildlands crossover event with the limited-time Predator update.
Blacklist was released in 2013 and is the latest game in the Splinter Cell series. There's been no official word about a sequel (or a remaster), though Ubisoft's CEO did tease Splinter Cell news of some kind last year. Meanwhile, a Splinter Cell movie starring Tom Hardy is in the works.
Anyone who has seen the movie adaptation of Ready Player One knows that director Steven Spielberg made some massive changes from the original text, many of which help to improve the characters and narrative as the fight for the future of the Oasis plays out. Not everything was an improvement, though.
GameSpot has dug through both the film and the book it's based on to figure out exactly what the source material did better. While the key quests Parzival (Tye Sheridan) and his friends went on in the Oasis were bigger and more visually impressive in the film, it's hard to argue that Ernest Cline's original novel was able to flesh out the world and bring more logic to the story.
For instance, did you know that in the book, IOI is actually an internet service provider that wants full ownership over the Oasis to control what users have access to? In a time where net neutrality has become such a major topic of discussion, it rings far more true than the idea of a technology company wanting to sell more advertising space.
Take a look at GameSpot's video above to find out everything we thought the book handled better than the movie. Be warned, though, it contains spoilers for those that have yet to see Ready Player One on the big screen.
Call of Duty: WWII is getting a new DLC pack soon, but that's not the only thing that's coming. Developer Sledgehammer also recently announced an overhaul of the game's playable classes, called Divisions. And from the first details, it appears that it'll bring about quite the change to multiplayer.
The overhaul is sweeping and affects every Division in the game. Some of the tweaks swap out gear perks, while others boost certain stats. Overall, the update reshuffles certain skills and perks while also applying some changes across all Divisions.
For example, Call of Duty: WWII will now have unlimited sprint for all Divisions, although the sprint speed has gone down. Certain Division-specific abilities have been changed as a result; for instance, Infantry no longer grants players a longer sprint, but in exchange it boosts movement speed while aiming down sights.
The Armored Division has, in particular, received a big buff as a result of the universal change of giving all Divisions at least one Lethal and one Tactical equipment (Expeditionary gets two of each). Armored players now take much less explosive and fire damage, are immune to Shell Shock and Tactical equipment, and have greatly reduced flinch when shot. LMGs, when mounted on bipods, also pull first from reserve ammo and then from the currently loaded clip. All of this means that Armored and LMGs will likely be much more attractive.
Ordnance: Adds "Killed enemies drop Streak packs that fill your meter". Removes "Re-roll your own care packages".
Launched: Adds "Additional launcher ammunition". Removes "Only way to take a Launcher".
Concussed: Adds "Take two pieces of Lethal & Tactical equipment". Removes "presetting what the equipment is".
Instincts: Adds "Immune to Shell Shock and Tactical Equipment". Esports-only change to remove "warning when targeted off-screen" benefit (with the intention for this BT to be unbanned by MLG and used in competitive to counter Tacticals).
Incendiary Shells attachment buffed
Gives Additional Shells (7 for Combat Shotgun; 8 for all other shotguns)
Range reduction of Shells buffed to -10% from -15%
Sped up loading of shells for Combat Shotgun
M30 Rifle Bullet ammo buffed
Gives Additional Bullets (8 bullets instead of previous 6)
LMG Bipod Buffed
Increased fire rate while mounted (+9% which is equal to Rapid Fire attachment for LMGs [which stacks])
Firing while mounted initially draws ammo from reserve then once exhausted draws from current clip (removing the need to reload).
Sniper Sharpshooter Duration Buffed
Hold breath increased to 10 seconds from 4 seconds. Promotes using snipers the "proper" way rather than quickscoping.
Buffed "Take Significantly less fire & explosive damage" from Armored
80% reduction from fire and explosive damage (previously was 65% reduction)
"Reduced idle sway" from Infantry III & Scoped now affects snipers
30% reduction for Snipers; vs. all other weapon classes' 65% reduction
This does stack with Ballistic Calibration attachment
Buffed "Move faster while aiming" from Infantry IV and Scoped
Every major sporting event has people making predictions, and sometimes, predictions come via non-traditional routes like a video game simulation of the "big game," like the Super Bowl in Madden. This year, instead of predicting the winners ofWrestlemania through WWE 2K18, WWE said went an entirely different route and used an alligator to pick the winners for the April PPV.
In the video, former Tough Enough contestant ZZ takes the viewer to his alligator farm in Kraemer, Louisiana--which is 56 miles outside of New Orleans, where Wrestlemania 34 takes place--to find out who is going to win a few of the PPV matches, by way of alligators chomping on pictures. Yes, this is real, and you can see the silliness below.
The gator chose Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, Brock Lesnar, and Shinsuke Nakamura for their respective matches. This is by far the weirdest thing we've seen when it comes to predicting Wrestlemania winners. GameSpot's predictions are much more complicated, as we have chickens peck at giant, disembodied cutouts of competitor's heads--that or we just guess based on where we think the storylines are going.
Regardless of whether or not the alligators are right, this year's Wrestlemania should be a blast, especially now that Daniel Bryan is cleared to compete. The big show takes place on Sunday, April 8 and the Kickoff Show should start at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT--the start time for the Kickoff Show has not been revealed yet. As of this writing, there are 11 matches on the card, including the first ever Women's Battle Royal match, which had its original name changed because of some controversy.
We're just days away from WWE's biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania. The company's most important PPV of the year will also be the largest in terms of the number of matches on the card, and one of the battles with the most hype behind it is John Cena vs. Undertaker, even though the match has yet to be officially announced. The biggest question on everyone's minds is, "Who is going to win?"
In addition to Cena beating down Taker, we ran some more simulations in WWE 2K18 for as many matches as we could. However, some wrestlers, like Mustafa Ali and Ronda Rousey, were not in the game, and there was no way to run a three-team tag team match, so those were skipped.
The lead up to this year's real-life event has been crazy. From Daniel Bryan being cleared for a return to the ring, to Shane McMahon fighting in the event--even though he's been hospitalized--to Macaulay Culkin challenging Rusev, the buildup may be more exciting than the actual PPV itself. That's saying a lot, since there are quite a few huge matches on the show that have the potential to be legendary. This is especially true for both Smackdown championship matches featuring Royal Rumble winners: Asuka vs. Charlotte (c) and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles (c).
Wrestlemania 34 comes to PPV and the WWE Network on Sunday April 8 at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT. The Kickoff Show will start at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT on the WWE Network and streamed live on YouTube, with the second hour appearing on the USA Network. You don't have to watch through YouTube or on USA Network, as there are multiple ways to watch Wrestlemania 34 this year, which includes on your consoles. It's going to be a long show, with at least seven hours slotted on the Network for the show to run.
If you're interested in more on Wrestlemania--including live coverage of the event itself--stay tuned to GameSpot in the upcoming week, leading into Wrestlemania 34.
Wrestlemania 34 is right around the corner, and aside from the PPV itself, the entire weekend is filled with events like NXT Takeover on Saturday and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday evening. Each year, the WWE honors wrestlers who have worked with the company in the past who made a lasting mark on wrestling as a whole. 2018's event starts at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on April 6 (1 AM BST on April 7) on the WWE Network.
This year, WWE is honoring seven former wrestlers and adding another person to its Celebrity Wing as well. These iconic wrestlers will join the ranks of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Andre The Giant. Interestingly enough this year, Jeff Jarrett will be inducted. Jarrett had an off-and-on stint with WWE during the New Generation and the Attitude Eras between '92-'99, but he's most known for the creation of TNA wrestling, which began in 2002. He had a tumultuous relationship with TNA after controlling interest went to Robert Carter. However, Jarrett deserves credit for helping with the careers of current WWE superstars like Bobby Roode and AJ Styles.
The only woman headed to the Hall of Fame this year is Ivory. She began her career in GLOW under the ringname Tina Ferrari. She was the only member of the GLOW federation to have a notable career outside of the show. Aside from her in-ring work at WWE, Ivory was known for some of the storylines she was involved with, including being a member of Right to Censor, a stable during the height of the Attitude Era that wanted to make WWE more family friendly.
WWE Hall of Fame 2018 Inductees:
Goldberg (Inducted by Paul Heyman)
Ivory (Inducted by Molly Holly)
Mark Henry
The Dudley Boys (Inducted by Edge and Christian)
Jeff Jarrett
Hillybilly Jim
Kid Rock (Celebrity wing)
You can catch the Hall of Fame ceremony on the WWE Network on Friday, April 6, as well as replays on the streaming service after the event concludes. As of this writing, the time for the event has not been announced. Also, make sure to check back with GameSpot in the upcoming weeks for more Wrestlemania-madness and live coverage of the PPV!
