Just Cause 4 has now leaked twice ahead of E3 2018. An ad recently served through Steam (via Kotaku) shows promotional art with a call to pre-order. This is the second retailer listing hinting at the existence of the game, after Walmart spilled the beans on several games with placeholder pages for several unannounced games last month.
Clicking to pre-order reportedly bounced users back to the main Steam page, and the ad has seemingly been removed. We expect to see it announced at the showcase for Square Enix, the current publisher of the Just Cause series. That presentation will take place on Monday, June 11 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST (3 AM AET on June 12).
Just Cause 3 was released in 2015, and received a mixed reception from critics on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. In the GameSpot review, Mike Mahardy called it a "stunning display of cause and effect" thanks to its destructible environments and toolset.
The near-confirmation of Just Cause 4 gives further credence to the Walmart leak, which has already struck gold with more than one confirmation. The biggest surprise was Rage 2, which Bethesda playfully responded to in cheeky fashion. We also now know that a new Assassin's Creed (named Odyssey) and Lego DC Super Villains were accurate as well.
Various others in the Walmart leak haven't panned out yet, but may well in the future. Unconfirmed games include a new Splinter Cell, Borderlands 3, Gears of War 5, and Dragon Quest 2. Others seem less likely, like "Forza Horizons 5"--even though the name of the series is "Horizon" and it would be on its fourth game.
While trying out Anthem, I had to keep reminding myself that I was playing a BioWare game. It's the first new IP from the veteran RPG developer in a decade, and although it falls into that particular style of role-playing and third-person shooter hybrid the studio honed with the Mass Effect franchise, this is the hardest it has leaned into that concept. With Anthem, we're seeing a major shift in what BioWare is capable of. Although it still exhibits some of the studio's role-playing pedigree, it's the vast online open-world that sets Anthem apart.
In the vein of Bungie's Destiny and Ubisoft's The Division, Anthem is a shared-world online shooter focusing on groups of players taking on new challenges and chasing new loot. But in familiar BioWare fashion, your particular Freelancer will make important narrative choices throughout the game's main campaign, altering their relationships with allies and other factions. While this sounds pretty standard, this is all housed within an online world where other players are making similar or conflicting choices in their own story.
As of now, we only know what the story is about in the broad sense: humans on a hostile alien planet, a powerful ancient presence of some form, and major world-altering events. While BioWare wasn't ready to share just how those choices will be reflected in the game for others to see, it did say they'll be surfaced in some form. With that said, the general narrative feels much more of a nebulous concept right now, and I am intrigued to see how the developer will be able to inject that familiar BioWare-style storytelling into Anthem.
During a hands-on session with the game at EA Play, we got to check out one of Anthem's missions while getting a feel for the Javelin exo-suits and their unique powers. We played the Scars and Villainy mission, which took the game's Freelancers on an operation to take out an ancient weapon: a Relic held by the imposing Scar forces--one of the many groups on the planet fighting for control. While this mission was shown during the EA Play press conference, we saw an extended version of it, exploring some of the surrounding areas and fighting against the Swarm Tyrant boss. Though it's usually difficult to get a sense of the game's scale from standard vertical slice demos (as they aim to show a little bit of everything), I was impressed with the sense of scale and verticality--which felt particularly fresh for a BioWare game.
As Anthem is an action-RPG, you're given a lot of options in how you'll fight against enemies. With a primary weapon, side-arm, and special abilities--like the Ranger's case, Frost Grenades--you'll be able to fly into combat and utilize your skills in quick succession. Coordinating with your team will also open up opportunities to use combination attacks which offer bonus damage to groups of enemies. For instance, you can use the Ranger's Frost Grenade and the Colossus' slam skill together to destroy frozen enemies, which sends shards of ice into surrounding monsters.
I was impressed with how punchy and tactile the shooting mechanics were, which made getting a feel for the new systems fairly easy. While the Mass Effect series had largely serviceable combat--which gradually got better as the entries went on--Anthem shows some major growth on BioWare's part thanks to its fast, responsive combat, which made many of the fights I played thrilling to take part in.
Your Freelancer's most valuable asset is their Javelin exo-suit, which allows them to survive the world's hostile environment. Movement is a core part of Anthem, and each Javelin can use their booster packs to fly through the world and glide underwater at great speed. Regardless of their archetype, each Javelin has a wonderful sense of velocity and mobility while zipping through the air, which recalled some exciting moments from films like Iron Man. While you're not able to fly indefinitely (as your suit's thrusters will overheat) flying through environmental elements like waterfalls will offer instant cooldowns and keep you going for longer distances.
As you complete jobs, you'll acquire more resources and new gear for the exo-suits. While you'll focus on one Javelin early on, you'll eventually be able to switch over to other suits. So far, Anthem has four unique Javelins: the all-around striker Ranger; the Hulk-like Colossus; the glass-cannon Storm, which uses elemental attacks; and the agile Interceptor. As you can tell, the Javelins are not unlike classes in a traditional RPG, fulfilling those standard archetypes needed to round out a group.
While the mission culminated in a battle against the large Swarm Tyrant boss, who summoned smaller spider creatures and other hazards against the group, the demo ended about halfway through the fight. What's interesting about this battle is that it highlighted the game's focus on online gameplay, as it required a lot firepower to whittle the boss's health down. While the Mass Effect games had online modes, they were single-player games at heart. During the presentation, the developers stated that while players can go solo, they'll eventually come across some fights that will be too challenging to tackle alone.
While there's still plenty we don't know about Anthem--narrative-progression, PvP, and just what the endgame can offer--this brief taste of the game offered a whole lot to look forward to. Though BioWare has already dabbled in the sci-fi space with Mass Effect, Anthem comes off as a major departure for the company, specifically in how it's focusing much more on fast gameplay and dynamic battles. Still, we're eager to hear more about the larger specifics of the game, and just what that means for the bigger picture of Anthem.
You can read more about Anthem and other news from EA's E3 briefing in our recap of all the announcements from EA Play. For our full coverage of the big event, be sure to visit GameSpot's E3 2018 hub to follow along with all of the biggest news from the show.
As expected, EA's E3 2018 briefing delivered some more news about Battlefield V, the much-anticipated World War II shooter from developer DICE. On top of teasing a battle royale mode for the game, EA shared a new multiplayer trailer that showcased a spectacular combat scene and large-scale destruction.
The trailer started with paratroopers jumping out of a plane onto a large-scale map set in Norway where aircraft, tanks, and ground troops were all engaged in a snow-covered town. The Aurora Borealis was clearly visible in the sky with huge mountains out in the distance. New features like the destruction model for buildings, anti-air guns attached to the back of tanks, and reverse prone movement were showcased.
We also had a sneak peak at War Stories, the single-player campaign where you play through different vignettes of the larger conflict. The Nordlys campaign was teased with two female characters under duress, with one saying, "Not a single drop. I love you." One is then tossed into the water as enemy soldiers approach. More details are expected to come during Microsoft's Xbox showcase tomorrow, June 10.
There's still little that we know about the aforementioned battle royale mode, but EA said it will offer teamplay, vehicles, and destruction for an experience the developer claims you haven't gotten in Battlefield or any other game before. Additional details about Battlefield V's battle royale mode will be announced sometime later this year.
If you're attending EA Play this weekend in Hollywood, you can go hands-on with Battlefield V and some of the publisher's other upcoming games.
At Saturday's EA Play event for E3 2018, the publisher announced a new game as part of its EA Originals label: Sea of Solitude. Along with the announcement, EA showed a trailer, which showcased the game's beautiful, flooded world and stylized but haunting monsters.
Sea of Solitude is developed by Jo-Mei, a small game studio based in Berlin. It stars a girl who has been turned into a monster, and your goal is to find out how she transformed and how to turn her back into a human. The game's main theme is loneliness and how it affects people.
Sea of Solitude was announced alongside another EA Originals title, Unravel 2, which is out today. Be sure to check our roundup of EA's press conference for all the news, trailers, and more, including new details on Battlefield V and Anthem. And stay tuned for more E3 2018 coverage as the week goes on.
Ahead of Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, Square Enix has revealed that Nier Automata is coming to Xbox One. In a blog post that has since been taken down, the publisher announced the acclaimed action RPG will be released digitally on Microsoft's console later this month, and it'll include a handful of extra content.
Dubbed the Nier Automata: Become as Gods edition, the game will retail for $50 and comes with the base adventure, plus several DLC packs. That includes the 3C3C1D119440927 expansion--which lets players fight the bosses of Square Enix and Platinum Games--as well as the following cosmetic items:
Grimoire Weiss Pod
Retro Red Pod Skin
Retro Grey Pod Skin
Cardboard Pod Skin
The Machine Lifeform Mask Accessory
Nier Automata: Become as Gods edition launches in the Xbox Store on June 26. It originally released for PS4 and PC in 2017 and was a critically and commercial success for Square Enix. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10 in our Nier Automata review and called it "a meaty, often exhilarating trek that showcases Platinum Games' and Yoko Taro's unique blend of genius." We also selected it as one of the best games of 2017.
We'll undoubtedly see more of Nier Automata: Become as Gods during Microsoft's E3 press conference, which is scheduled to air today, June 10, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. The publisher hasn't revealed what it will discuss during the presentation, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer said there will be a lot of game reveals. You can stream it live on GameSpot or follow along with our Microsoft liveblog.
As BioWare teased in the days leading up to EA Play, Anthem had a big presence during EA's E3 2018 press conference. Not only did we learn more about the game's story and when it will launch, we got to see a gorgeous new cinematic trailer--the first that BioWare has shared since the title was publicly unveiled at last year's E3.
The trailer doesn't showcase any new gameplay of Anthem, but it does offer a deeper look at the game's world and the monstrous creatures that live within. "The gods vanished and left our world in chaos," the video begins. "Creating, altering, destroying. The Anthem is all that remains." From there, we get to see a band of Freelancers flying through different environments and battling monsters. You can watch the trailer above.
BioWare had previously said that a new trailer would be revealed during EA Play. In the weeks leading up to the event, the official Anthem Twitter and Facebook accounts shared a new clip and piece of artwork from the game--the first activity on either social media page in nearly a year. The aforementioned clip ended with a tease for a new trailer that would be shown off on June 9.
In addition to the CG trailer, BioWare showcased a gameplay demonstration of Anthem during the press conference, providing our first real look at the game in action since it was unveiled last year. The demonstration showed off four players exploring a lush, forested area and culminated in a fight against a giant monster.
Like Destiny, Anthem is an online, cooperative shooter with a heavy emphasis on RPG elements. Players assume the role of warriors known as Freelancers and must band together to explore uncharted worlds and fight to protect humanity. Freelancers wear special customizable exo-suits called Javelins, which can be outfitted with a variety of different weapons and special abilities. The Javelins fall into four different categories, which determine a player's role.
On top of the new gameplay footage, BioWare revealed when Anthem will launch. After several delays, the title is scheduled to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 22. You can read more about Anthem and the other announcements from EA's press conference on GameSpot's E3 2018 hub.

After years of anticipation, Kingdom Hearts III has now been given a firm release date. As the conclusion to the core trilogy of games, focusing on Sora, Donald, and Goofy's adventures through Disney-themed worlds, the third game looks to expand its scope even further while still showing that its still got charm and plenty of heart. Coming to PS4 and Xbox One, Kingdom Hearts III will arrive on January 29, 2019.
This news came rather suddenly, with the official Kingdom Hearts III Twitter page unceremoniously revealing the release info on the (unofficial) first day of E3. While it's been in development for years, series creator Tetsuya Nomura previously stated at last year's D23 event that the release was planned for 2018. During a Kingdom Hearts III fan event in May, he also revealed that the final release date for the game would be unveiled soon.
Last month, we had some hands-on time with the game, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much the game's style and tone has held over the years. While fans can still expect to explore worlds themed after many classic Disney animated films, Pixar is now set to make its debut with the Kingdom Hearts series. As of now, the confirmed Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts III are Tangled, Big Hero Six, Hercules, Toy Story, and Monsters Inc.
For more info on Kingdom Hearts III and other Square Enix titles during E3 2018, be sure to keep up with us we publish more content from the gaming world's biggest event. The game will likely feature in Square Enix's press conference, which is scheduled to be held on June 11.
Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference takes place today, June 11, and if you can't watch the livestream or prefer news via text, we'll have a liveblog for you to follow along with. Come back to this page on Sunday to see a blow-by-blow breakdown of all the big news and reveals.
The Microsoft E3 2018 briefing begins at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. We don't know how long it'll run for, but it's likely to be between 1-2 hours. Microsoft is trailing Sony when it comes to hardware sales and mindshare, so it will be interesting to see what surprises the company may have up its sleeve.
Microsoft has said it has a lot in store for E3 2018, but we don't know what to expect from the event itself. The Forza series rotates between Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon, so 2018 would be a Horizon year if that schedule continues. There are also rumours of a Xbox game-streaming service, while Halo fans are hoping to hear about what's next for Master Chief's journey. It wouldn't be an E3 press conference if there weren't surprises, too.
After the Xbox briefing wraps up, fans can visit the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles to play upcoming Xbox games. Microsoft will also have a presence at the Los Angeles Convention Center itself, but this will be primarily focused on Mixer.
GameSpot will be seeing and playing the upcoming Xbox games, and we'll report back with written and video news updates and previews as the show goes on.
Microsoft's press conferences follows EA's on Saturday. Later on Sunday, Bethesda will host its own show starting at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET. Ubisoft and Sony follow on Monday, and then Nintendo on Tuesday. Here is the full E3 2018 press conference schedule.

We'll also have a pre-show to help get you psyched for the show and a post-show where GameSpot editors will discuss all the big reveals and what they mean. The show itself is expected to run about 100 minutes.
Microsoft has said it has a lot in store for E3 2018, but we don't know what to expect from the event itself. At the EA Play press conference during E3 2018, the company took a few moments to outline its roadmap for the future of Star Wars Battlefront II. Design director Dennis Brannvall admitted the game had a "rough start" after its controversial launch last year, but he insisted that EA remains committed to the title. To that end, he explained what's coming next for the Star Wars shooter: the iconic Clone Wars.
This year, Battlefront 2 will get a load of new content based on the prequel conflict, including several new heroes and villains, as well as iconic locations from the Clone Wars setting. The content will kick off with Geonosis, which EA says will feature "multiple levels," including the largest one it has ever designed for the game. Additionally, General Grevious, Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker are all slated to arrive in Battlefront II as new Heroes.
EA didn't announce exactly when it will begin rolling out Clone Wars content for Battlefront II, but that's only one component of the company's ongoing support for the title. EA recently kicked off Han Solo season in the game, which saw the addition of the Jabba's Palace map and several new Appearances. Solo-inspired content--including Alden Ehrenreich's Solo and Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian--is also scheduled to arrive very soon, on June 12.
Beyond the new Clone Wars and Solo content, EA will introduce a new squad system to Battlefront II this summer, which allows players to more easily team up and play with friends. The developer is also going to add a new Starfighter mode that focuses on dogfights with Hero ships, as well as a new "large-scale multiplayer sandbox experience" that revolves around capturing command posts and attacking Capital ships.
The Clone Wars news joined another Star Wars announcement made during the EA Play presentation. Respawn's Star Wars game is called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and it takes place in the dark times after the Emperor exerts his control over the galaxy. It's coming in holiday 2019.
E3 2018 is officially here, and EA kicked things off by dropping some major news at its EA Play press conference. Much of the big news centered around its two biggest upcoming games: Battlefield V and BioWare's new IP, Anthem. They weren't the only games that got some attention on the big stage, though; EA also shared updates on Madden NFL 19, FIFA 19, and a (previously unannounced) platformer Unravel 2.
We've rounded up all of the announcements from the briefing, and below you'll find all of our coverage of EA's kick-off event. You can also check out our EA press conference liveblog if you want to re-experience it, as well as our trailer roundup.

Anthem Won't Use Loot Boxes--At the EA Play presentation, BioWare went into more detail about how you can (and can't) customize your Javelin mech suit.
FIFA 19 Release Date Confirmed--In addition to the FIFA's release date, EA provided a look at its new soccer/football game.
Madden NFL 19

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (Respawn Entertainment)
FIFA 19 has been officially unveiled at EA's E3 press conference, meaning we've received our first glance at some of the new features coming in this year's edition of the sports phenomenon. We also got a platform list: It's headed to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
PES 2019 is coming earlier than usual this year; FIFA's challenger will launch before the end of August, meaning it has a several week head start over FIFA 19. Last year's FIFA, meanwhile, was well-received at launch.
We awarded the sports game a 7/10 in our FIFA 18 review. "It's off the pitch that EA excels," we said. "From the variety of game modes on offer and how everything's presented, to the constant updates in FUT's Team of the Week, Daily Objectives, and discussion of real-world happenings in commentary, FIFA 18 captures the world of football and confidently translates it into a video game. On the pitch, however, EA's soccer series is still lagging far behind PES 2018's more fluid, satisfying football. This year's improvements are welcome, but more needs to be done in the coming years if FIFA is to be a world-beater once again."
We'll have more FIFA details from E3 as it's announced.
For the first time in over 10 years, EA has hold of the official Champions League license for use in its FIFA franchise. FIFA 19 will be the first game in the series to boast the official license of Europe's elite club competition since the 2007 spin-off title UEFA Champions League 2006-2007.
The news comes soon after UEFA confirmed its long-running partnership with Konami--which saw the Pro Evolution Soccer series exclusively contain the competition for a decade--had come to an end. EA and UEFA's new deal also means the lesser Europa League license will be exclusively seen in FIFA from now on. The length of this deal has not been divulged.
FIFA now has a near total monopoly over real-world soccer licenses when compared to Konami and PES. Most recently, EA released a free World Cup update for FIFA 18.

During the EA Play event at E3 2018, the publisher revealed more details about BioWare's upcoming game, Anthem. In addition to a release date, EA gave gameplay details and showed both a CG trailer and a gameplay one. Now, we have gotten more information about what you can get with Anthem's special edition.
Called the Legion of Dawn Edition, it comes with Legendary Armor Packs for all four of the game's Javelin power suit types (Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, and Storm). As revealed during the press conference, these suits have different gameplay styles and benefits and can be customized cosmetically. The Legendary Armor design included in the Legion of Dawn Edition is based on historical Javelin pilots in the game's lore.
The Legion of Dawn Edition also includes a Legendary weapon and Legendary gear attachment for the Ranger Javelin, though specifics have not been provided, plus digital bonus content like the soundtrack.
Finally, pre-ordering the Legion of Dawn Edition will get you VIP access to all the pre-launch demos for Anthem. You can check out our full pre-order guide for more information. Anthem launches February 22, 2019 for Xbox One, PS$ 4, and PC. For all the news from EA's press conference, check out our roundup.
EA's pre-E3 event, EA Play, has held its press conference, revealing news about a variety of its games. Among those to be shown was the previously revealed Madden NFL 19. This year's installment in the annual football franchise has already been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, and now we've learned that it will bring the franchise back to PC for the first time in a very long while.
EA has announced that Madden 19 will launch for PC alongside the console versions, on August 10. This makes it the first entry in the series to release on the platform in more than a decade; the last Madden game to come to PC was 2007's Madden 08. [Update: EA Sports has confirmed that Madden 19 will not be available on Nintendo Switch.]
Madden 19 will be released in standard and Hall of Fame editions. We don't who will grace the cover of the former, while Terrell Owens will be featured on the latter. Those who pre-order the standard edition will get five Gold Team Fantasy packs and an Elite player from the team of their choice. Meanwhile, reserving the HOF version will also get access to the game three days early, on August 7.
E3 2018 is underway, and in EA's press conference the company unveiled a brand new platformer: Unravel 2. As you might expect, it's a sequel to the gorgeous 2016 game Unravel, and it's out right now.
As with the first game, Unravel 2 focuses on the adventures of Yarny, a small, woolen toy. Developer Coldwood says the sequel will be a more upbeat affair than the original, with a slight shift away from puzzler and towards the platformer end of the spectrum. Yarny is more agile than before, and this is emphasized in some of the story mode's trickier sections.
Two Yarnies are playable for the entire game, meaning you can either switch between the two in single-player or play the game in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Aside from the main story, Unravel 2 also contains numerous bonus challenges. These are extra-difficult tests of skill best enjoyed after completing the campaign. Like the first game, Unravel 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
We awarded the original title a 7/10 in our Unravel review. "Unravel's wonderful sights and sounds won't escape your own memory so soon," wrote critic Rob Crossley. "But assessed purely on gameplay, it's everything I tend to fear about indie projects; Beautiful, heartfelt, but like Yarny himself, not robust enough."
EA rounded out its E3 2018 press conference with an extended look at the new multiplayer shooter Anthem. Details had been relatively vague up until this point but now we have a far better picture of what we can expect from BioWare's next big game, including its release date and what gameplay looks like.
Evolving World
Anthem will cast players in the role of a Freelancer, a special individual capable of piloting Javelin suits. The game will feature a dynamic world built around a core narrative where the world has been "abandoned by the gods." Freelancers have become the guardians of the rest of the population and will take on contracts to combat threats. When players return to the main hub (which sounds like a single-player instanced area), they will be able to see the effects of the choices they have made throughout the game world and progress the narrative. BioWare also revealed that multiple post-launch updates will deliver more story elements, for instance, providing deeper explorations into Anthem's characters.
There are four Javelin types that players can swap between: Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, and Storm. Each performs differently; for example, the Ranger appears to be a more generalised suit designed for close-combat, while the Colossus is a heavy armour suit that features larger high-destruction weaponry. Although these sound like classes, you aren't permanently tied to any one; you can switch between them when not on a mission. The suits will be customisable with different paint jobs and geometry options, and there will also be cosmetic and vanity items available to purchase.
BioWare general manager Casey Hudson confirmed that loot boxes will not feature in Anthem. You will be able to purchase cosmetic items, but Hudson stressed that you will always know exactly what you're buying before you purchase it.
There Will Be A Special Edition & Pre-order Bonuses
The Legion of Dawn Edition will include Legendary Armor Packs from all four of the game's Javelin power suit types, as well as a Legendary weapon and a Legendary gear attachment for the Ranger Javelin. On top of that, you'll also be able to access digital bonus content including the soundtrack. Pre-ordering this special edition will grant you VIP access to all the pre-launch demos for Anthem.
Anthem is set to arrive on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 22, 2019, but that won't be the first time players can get stuck into the game. Early access will be available through EA/Origin Access.
Twin Mirror is a new story-driven adventure game coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It's being developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind Life is Strange and Vampyr, so it's no wonder the game will revolve around player choice as part of a branching narrative. The game has a dark tone and is described as a psychological thriller. Check out the reveal trailer above.
You play as Sam, who returns to his (desolate) hometown of Basswood, West Virginia to attend the funeral of his best friend. Sam is already having a pretty tough time; he's also recovering from a bad break-up. Things take a turn for the worst when he wakes up with no memory of the previous night and discovers a blood-stained shirt in his hotel room.
Sam needs to recall his memories and search for clues to discover the truth in a mysterious investigation. Much like Life is Strange, the game will confront many heavy themes; he must come to terms with heartbreak in a place where "the line between truth and deception is blurred."
Believe it or not, E3 2018 is here. The annual gaming extravaganza returns to Los Angeles for what is poised to be one of the biggest weeks of the year for gaming news, reveals, and trailers. As always, announcements will primarily come from the various conferences that take plays in the days leading up to E3; here's when all of those happen and where you can watch livestreams and liveblogs.
EA kicked things off on Saturday, June 9, with its EA Play briefing, while Microsoft and Bethesda will follow on Sunday afternoon and evening, respectively. Devolver Digital, a relative newcomer to E3 press conferences, will also host one on Sunday. Square Enix follows these on Monday morning; Ubisoft then takes its turn in the afternoon, with Sony's presentation slated for later that evening. The PC Gaming Show also happens on Monday. Nintendo then concludes the press conferences with its briefing on Tuesday morning.
Below we've laid out the exact schedule, complete with times, for all of this year's press conferences. We'll be streaming all of these press conferences here on GameSpot as well as on Twitter. The show itself runs June 12-14, and like last year, it's open to the public--here's how to get tickets.
E3 2018 is nearly upon us. The show formally kicks off on Tuesday, June 12, but as in recent years, many big-name publishers will host their own press conferences in the days leading up to the event. Nintendo's will once again take the form of a pre-recorded Direct-style video presentation, which is scheduled to air at 9 AM PT / 12 PM PT / 5 PM BST, just before E3 proper begins.
As usual, the company has been fairly secretive about its plans heading into this year's E3. Outside of confirming that Super Smash Bros. for Switch will play a prominent role both in its presentation and on the show floor, Nintendo hasn't announced any of the titles it plans on showcasing at the expo. However, we do know that the aforementioned video presentation won't be the extent of its plans for E3 2018.
Once again, Nintendo will follow its E3 briefing with a series of Treehouse Live streams, which will air each of the three days the expo runs. Additionally, Nintendo will host competitive esports tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Switch and Splatoon 2, the latter of which is set to receive a big, paid DLC expansion this summer. The Splatoon 2 World Championship begins on Monday, June 11, with the finals taking place on June 12. The Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 tournament will kick off shortly afterward and features well-known competitive Smash players from around the world.
Aside from that, however, we have little idea of what to expect from Nintendo at E3. The company has said that its presentation will focus primarily on games launching soon, so we'll get a much clearer idea of what its release schedule for Switch will be through the end of the year. It seems likely that we'll learn more about some of the titles that were announced at last year's E3, such as Metroid Prime 4 and Yoshi. We may also see more of the recently revealed Pokemon RPGs for Switch: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eeevee.
Whatever the case, we won't have to wait much longer to find out. Nintendo will broadcast its E3 2018 presentation on its YouTube and Twitch channels. GameSpot will also host a stream of the briefing, so you can tune in right here on June 12 to follow along with all of Nintendo's big announcements.

Where To Livestream Nintendo's E3 2018 Press Conference
We're not exactly sure what other surprises Nintendo will have in store this year, but there are plenty of rumors already. We hope to see more on Metroid Prime 4 and Yoshi, both of which were teased at last year's show.
In typical Nintendo fashion, its conference this year will be pre-recorded and presented in the "Nintendo Direct" form. It's set to air at 9 AM PT / 12 PM PT / 5 PM BST on Tuesday, June 12, just before the show floor opens. After the conference, Nintendo will host its usual Treehouse livestream throughout the remainder of E3.
If you can't tune into the livestream, which we are hosting here on GameSpot, you can catch up with all the latest announcements in our liveblog on this page, so be sure to come back then. We'll have all the biggest headlines from the conference rounded up on GameSpot, so once it's all over, you'll be able to get all your E3 news in one place.

E3 2018 is here. The show proper begins on Tuesday, June 12 in Los Angeles, but as is the norm, many games publishers--including Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and others--are holding their own press conferences in the days leading up to the show itself.
Sony's E3 press conference is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 11 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET (2 AM BST / 11 AM on June 12). We know we'll be seeing more of upcoming PS4 games like Death Stranding, The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man, and there may be more announcements included too. However, Sony has already stated it won't be showing any new hardware at E3, so you can forget about PS5 for now.
For Death Stranding, Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden said the company has a "complete new report for everybody about what is happening around that title," while Ghost of Tsushima will also have a "deep dive." For Spider-Man there will be "a new drop," which is likely to be a new trailer. Finally, The Last of Us Part 2 will have "a full new scope and treatment to show progress on the game and give people a better understanding of where we're going with Part 2."
GameSpot will be streaming Sony's conference live on June 11 on Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, while we'll also be at hand to provide in-depth coverage of the conference both before and after Sony's presentation. You can take a look at the full E3 2018 press conference schedule for more information on everything happening during that week.

In terms of E3 2018 showstoppers, Square Enix is likely to let Shadow of the Tomb Raider take center stage at its press conference. The game is the last entry in the Tomb Raider origin trilogy, and you'll once again play as Lara Croft. Developer Eidos Montreal says the game will be the darkest adventure Lara has been on yet, with far more drama and internal conflict than past games. It releases September 14 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and Eidos studio head David Anfossi has hinted there is an interesting and very surprising reveal coming soon for Tomb Raider fans.

One of Square Enix's most anticipated games may (or may not) make an appearance during the press conference. The remake of Final Fantasy VII has been in the works for a few years, but it still doesn't have a release date, meaning it may still be too early for the developer to drop major details. So far, we know the original game will be transformed into a multi-game project with the remake, and we've seen a few exciting snippets of gameplay. Here's hoping for more.
Lastly, Kingdom Hearts fans will be holding out hope for some new info at E3 2018. While Kingdom Hearts III is technically not scheduled to appear, it has been in development for many years and is scheduled to release this year. Here's everything we know and everything we want to see at E3 from Kingdom Hearts III. Square Enix will likely also reveal some of its upcoming indies from its Square Enix Collective label.
