It's that time of year again where 2K trots out the next installment of its WWE series, which has a massive, massive roster, and it's one of the selling points for WWE 2K19. This year's edition will undoubtedly have a plethora of superstars to choose from when the game releases on October 9, 2018. Last year's WWE 2K18 ended up with over 180 wrestlers--the largest in the history of the series--and while 2K isn't boasting this year's edition will topple that, yet, it should still be more than any player can handle. It's early, and there still aren't specific details about gameplay, aside from the Million Dollar Challenge, which takes place within a yet to be announced new mode in 2K19. However, there have already been a few announcements for characters on the roster, including cover star AJ Styles and pre-order bonus characters Ronda Rousey and Rey Mysterio. Additionally, the $130 Wooooo! Edition of the game has been announced which comes with a bunch of exclusives including a season pass, exclusive roster additions, a piece of Ric Flair's robe, early access to play, and more. This year's edition will be skipping Nintendo Switch, after last year's port featured a bevy of problems from frame rate issues to resolution dropping down to 540p, even in docked mode. However, the game will still be released in early October for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you're interested in pre-ordering WWE 2K19, check out our pre-order guide, with all the info about what each edition contains, where to buy it, and pricing. Over the course of the next few months, we'll keep you updated with all the newly confirmed superstars in the game, as well as a breakdown of which shows these wrestlers are from and how many new additions will be playable. As the Mission Impossible movies have got bigger, so too has star Tom Cruise's desire for danger. While many action stars slow down a little as they hit middle age, 56-year-old Cruise has gone the other way, pushing his body for the sake of our entertainment in ways that would terrify many actors half his age. The sixth movie in the series, Mission Impossible: Fallout, hits theaters this week and reviews have suggested that it's the most spectacular entry to date. Some of Cruise's Fallout stuntwork was notorious long before the film had even finished shooting, with an on-set accident causing the star to break his ankle and production to shut down for several months. Behind-the-scenes promotional videos have teased some of the movie's other amazing action sequences, such as the terrifying-sounding HALO jump, showing that the movie's marketers know that Cruise's willingness to risk his life is now a big selling point for the series. The previous five movies all feature some incredible moments--from climbing onto planes and being thrown around by explosions to getting way too close to knives and cliff edges. So as we get ready to marvel at Cruise's latest batch of movie-set madness, here's a look back at the wildest stunts from the series so far: 10. Mission Impossible – Train Chase
Back in 1996, Cruise--or perhaps his agent--wasn't prepared to go to quite the same lengths to endanger his life, and there's a good chance in 2018 that Tom would've spent the climax of the first movie actually strapped to the top of the Eurostar train. But although the stunt was mostly achieved through greenscreen, a powerful wind machine was set up to blast 140mph winds at Tom as he clings to the speeding train. 9. Mission Impossible 2 – Knife Fight
It's not the biggest stunt in the second Mission Impossible movie, but in some ways it's the hardest to watch. In the final confrontation with bad guy Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), Cruise, of course, insisted that real knives were used. There's a moment where Ambrose gets his blade scarily close to Hunt's eye, in extreme close-up. To get the dramatic effect, the blade was attached to a retractable cord that was measured precisely to stop just before it hit Cruise's eye. An inch further and it would've plunged straight into Tom's eyeball. 8. Mission Impossible – Hanging Around
Sometimes a great stunt doesn't involve running, jumping, and swimming. Sometimes it just involves staying very still under very difficult conditions. For the iconic scene in which Ethan Hunt hangs upside down in the vault while attempting to break into Langley in the first movie, Cruise was suspended 40 feet from the ceiling, maintaining incredible control over his body to remain absolutely still while he taps away at the computer. 7. Mission Impossible III – Bridge Blast
During the bridge confrontation towards the end end of MI3, a missile smashes into the ground, causing an explosion that sends Cruise flying several feet into the side of a car. In any "normal" film this shot would've been performed by a stuntman in long shot, before cutting to a final close-up of Tom. But of course we get to see the whole thing in one spectacular take. The car was padded, but man, it looks painful. 6. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – Bike Chase
Rogue Nation is packed with so many great stunts that this bike chase is sometimes forgotten, but it still a stunningly dangerous sequence. Ethan races after Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) in order to get some stolen files back, skidding around the alarming bends of the Marrakech Highway in Morocco, while also trying to evade the henchmen on his trail. And of course, Cruise ensures that we know it's him performing these alarming high-speed stunts by refraining from wearing a helmet for the entire sequence. 5. Mission Impossible – Exploding tank
The first Mission Impossible fully established Cruise as an action movie star. Although the set pieces are a little more modest than in later movies, there are still some great moments that show that the star was very willing to put himself in danger. During a tense standoff, Ethan Hunt uses some detonating gum to blow up a huge fish tank that surrounds the actors, causing 16 tons of water to explode, right next to the star. A huge wave of water crashes through the room, as Cruise sprints just ahead. Director Brian De Palma was reportedly reluctant to let Cruise perform the stunt, on account of the risk from both the glass and sheer volume of water. But an earlier take with a stuntman didn't look any good, so Cruise went ahead and did it himself. 4. Mission Impossible 2 – Rock Climbing
It was MI2 that truly established the franchise's--and its star's--dedication to the dangerous. The movie opens with a sequence in which Cruise scales the cliffs of Dead Horse Point in Utah. While the actor was wearing a safety harness that was later removed digitally, it's still 100% Tom up there, jumping between rocks with no safety net below him. From that stunt on, there was no going back. 3. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – Taking Off
Like the Bond movies, the Mission Impossible franchise is known for its spectacular opening sequences. At the start of Rogue Nation, Ethan Hunt clings to the side of a plane as it takes off. Cruise performed the stunt four times over the space of two days, and subsequently provided some alarming details about it. "While we were going down the runway, we were worried about bird strikes," he said. "Any kind of particle that the propellers could pick up, any kind of stone. I remember I got hit by a stone that was so tiny, you cannot believe it. I thought it broke my rib. Luckily it went to my vest, and not my hands or my face, or it would have penetrated and gone right through." Ow. 2. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – Dubai So High
It's not all running, jumping, and nearly drowning. Cruise also seemingly lacks a fear of heights, even when scaling the world's tallest building. In Ghost Protocol, Ethan Hunt is seen on the side of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, 2,722 feet above the ground. And as the behind-the-scenes footage reveals, it's 100% Tom--swinging, climbing, and clambering around the outside of the building, as the camera crew circle him in a helicopter. 1. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – Water Lunatic
Given that Rogue Nation starts with the Cruiser hanging off the side of an airplane as it takes off, you'd be forgiven thinking that the movie had peaked early in terms of life-endangering stunt work. But you're be wrong. An hour later, Ethan Hunt attempts to crack open an underwater safe, a sequence that took two weeks to film and required Cruise to not only act underwater but also reportedly hold his breath for up to six minutes at a time. Tom's physical training took months, as he trained alongside a freediving expert and taught his mind to believe "that you don't have to take a breath."

San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone for 2018. The show ran from July 18-22, and there was a lot to see and do at and around the convention center. Aside from the cosplay, show floor, and panels, one thing many fans look forward to are the cool exclusives that show up at SDCC, including those focused on the likes of Marvel. One of the biggest companies that people will flocked to during the show was Funko (Booth 5341), so fans could get their hands on those sweet, tiny, vinyl figures called Pops. This year's show was wild, as Funko has a whopping 58 exclusive Pop figures for Comic-Con 2018. That's right--58 new figures that you can only get at this show. That's also not including Funko's non-Pop brands too, which would increase that number even further. From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to DC to Rick and Morty to WWE to Doctor Who, there was something for everyone at Funko's booth. However, in order to get some of the sweet Pop figures you're about to see, there were some guidelines to follow, which included going through Comic-Con's Exclusives Portal in order to book a time to buy something at the booth. That's how popular Funko is. But if you're desperate to get your hands on them, it'll be worth the trouble, as many of these will no doubt end up selling for higher prices on places like Ebay after the show. Unfortunately, no prices were listed for all these Funko figures. After you've booked your time for the Funko booth, here's what you can buy. All of the Pop figures are separated into different categories, and which you can jump ahead to by clicking a link below. While it might be called Comic-Con, the show is a celebration of all things pop culture and media. Everything from comics and TV to movies and video games are represented at the show, with fans attending panels for their favourite franchises, meeting those that create and star in them, and dressing up to show their love for characters. Overwatch was represented at the show, which makes perfect sense, given that it's a video game that draws heavy thematic inspiration from comic books and their movie and TV adaptations. It's all about unique heroes clashing against quirky villains in a world rife with political, social turmoil, and technological turmoil. The halls of Comic-Con 2018 were filled with iconic characters from Blizzard's critically acclaimed competitive shooter, and we took pictures of some of our favourite Overwatch cosplay for you to enjoy too. In the gallery above you'll find Tracer, McCree, D.Va & Soldier-76. For more cosplay, make sure to check out our round-up of all the best costumes we saw during Comic-Con Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3. We've also got a Marvel cosplay gallery, if you're a fan of Deadpool and his ilk. For a broader look at everything that went down at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, take a look at the list of our coverage below. In other Overwatch news, Blizzard is hosting a free play weekend for anyone who hasn't already purchased the game on PC, which means you'll be able to jump in for free between July 26-30. It's going to be a good opportunity to check out the game's newest hero, Wrecking Ball, who has now debuted in the game. Wrecking Ball is a giant mech piloted by a hamster called Hammond. Don't let his cuteness fool you; he's well-armed and can roll around the maps to get around very quickly. On top of that, he can attach himself to fixtures and swing around, which makes him more than worthy of the "Wrecking Ball" name. Beyond that, a variety of support characters are getting updates, and Torbjorn is set for some big changes. Blizzard is planning to make his small but deadly engineer even more offense focused by removing his Molten Core ultimate and giving him the ability to throw his turrets out. "With Torbjorn, the issues we're trying to solve are that he's a little overly defensive focused," explained lead designer Geoff Goodman. "We need him to be more viable on offense in a non-payload situation. It doesn't mean he needs to be equal on offense, but we need him at least to not be a troll pick." The ability to throw his turrets out, partially upgraded without the need for using Molten Core first, means Torb "plays a lot better on offense--especially because you can run up, throw it in a flank spot and be immediately shooting again and not feel like you have to sit there hammering it," Goodman added. "We can obviously tune the turret if it ends up being too strong or anything, but that's the place we're starting from." Blizzard hasn't confirmed when the Torbjorn rework will launch yet. By Steve Watts on Jul 25, 2018 03:04 pm Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project Expansion Cards
Hearthstone is gearing up for another expansion, and it looks pretty substantial. This time the update comes with a theme focused all around the noble pursuit of science. At least, as noble as it can be when headed up by the notorious Dr. Boom. The dastardly doctor has assembled a team of nine class-based scientists to manage their own wild experiments, to disastrous results. The Boomsday Project will add 135 new cards, with a slew of new card types and keywords. These nine scientists will make up the class Legendary cards for this expansion. Boomsday Project will introduce Legendary spells for the first time, which are engineered to have big and unique effects. These will not, however, specifically synergize with the new Legendary class minions representing the aforementioned scientists. "That's actually something that we talked about, linking them up so they work together, but we decided in the end, most of them are not going to work together," lead designer Mike Donais explained. "We wanted you not to have to own both Legendaries to sort of build the deck that that Legendary is focused on. So in most cases, you actually don't have any synergy between the two." Another new spell type, Projects, focus on symmetric effects that impact both players. The player who takes better advantage of these symmetric effects will have a huge leg-up on the competition. New Omega cards will be playable throughout a game for a decent stat ratio, but are given extra power boosts if played once you've reached the 10-Mana threshold. Finally, a new Magnetic keyword will allow you to join Mechs together, inheriting their stats and any keywords or special abilities. As such, the expansion is introducing a lot of new Mechs--both Magnetic and frames that can be built upon. The single-player component, the Puzzle Lab, will take a different tack than the last few expansions. Rather than a series of boss fights like Dungeon Run or Monster Hunt, these will focus on standalone puzzles. You'll have to spot the lethal, imitate the opponent's board state, or just survive, for example. The expansion will launch on August 7, and Puzzle Lab will follow two weeks later. Two separate pre-purchase bundles are now available: a 50-pack bundle for $50 with a golden class Legendary and a Mecha-Jaraxxus card back, or an 80-pack bundle for $80 with the Mecha-Jaraxxus Warlock hero. Above you can find all of the cards shown so far, and we'll be regularly updating with more cards as they're revealed.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018's third day saw the news just keep on rolling in, with trailers debuting for Aquaman, Shazam, and Godzilla: King of Monsters. But the event is about more than just big reveals; in fact, one of the best parts of the show is seeing the passion fans have for movies, comics, TV, games, and more. Walking the halls of Comic-Con, this passion is most obviously manifested in cosplay, and it's hard not to stop and marvel at some of the fantastic costumes that people put together to show their love. The level of craft shown on costumes is consistently impressive, so it only makes sense to appreciate that. We've been snapping pictures of our favourite costumes every day of Comic-Con so far, and have seen characters from Iron Man, Game of Thrones, Moana, Mega Man, and Batman, among others. And Saturday has been no different, with each of those franchises and more strongly represented once again, along with Silver Surfer, Pokemon, Static Shock, and Lord Zedd. For those looking to catch-up on some of the news, we've put together a list of our Comic-Con coverage highlights below for a quick and easy way to get up to speed. Big news includes a brand-new trailer for Preacher Season 3, which sounds like it's going to get even more gruesome and stomach-churning in the remaining episodes. Cloak and Dagger fans can also look forward to seeing more of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, as the superhero duo will return for a second season. With just two episodes left in the current season, the future was unclear for the series, but at the Cloak and Dagger panel during Comic-Con, Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb confirmed that Season 2 will start production in the fall, which means it should hit screens in 2019. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has come and gone. The specifics of what was on display may be different for 2018, but as always, the show remained the year's big event for revealing news and trailers for movies, TV shows (Clone Wars!), comics, and even some video games. And because SDCC is an event that's open the public--attracting the most hardcore fans of those aforementioned properties--you likely already know it's also where you can see a ton of incredible cosplay. SDCC 2018 has concluded, and we saw a tremendous amount of excellent cosplay. Attendees came out dressed as their favorite characters from a wide variety of games, comics, and movies, and we've gathered together a selection of the best from Day 1 for you to peruse above. You'll find Marvel's big-name heroes, like Iron Man and Gamora, as well as slightly more eccentric characters from the company's roster, like Thor Ragnarok's Grandmaster. Game of Thrones was represented by the likes of the Night King, while on the video game side, we got Team Fortress 2's Pyro and company. There's quite a variety, so check out all of our photos and stay tuned for more--we've since published compilations of the best cosplay from Day 2 and for Marvel overall. Thursday featured more than just cosplay, though. There were panels for some big-name series, including a 10th anniversary panel for Breaking Bad that brought some exciting news for Better Call Saul fans. We also got a trailer for DC's Titans, while perhaps the most exciting news of the day came from the Star Wars panel, where we learned that more of The Clone Wars is on the way. A total of 12 new episodes will premier through Disney's upcoming streaming service. There were teaser trailers for both Walking Dead shows, a look at a new season of Iron Fist--which looks surprisingly promising--and a giant Lego version of Avengers: Infinity War baddie Thanos. It's hard to believe how big Marvel has become in recent years. This comes thanks in part to Marvel Studios films, which has made its world of comic book superheroes a pop-culture phenomenon by fostering a massive audience, but also because fans of comics are now given more outlets to show their passion than ever before. With so many Marvel fans out there, you can be sure that many of them gathered at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 dressed as their favorite characters. Within the first couple days of SDCC 2018, we saw a ton of amazing Marvel cosplay. Attendees from all walks of life come to the public event dressed as some of the company's most iconic characters. There was a wide variety of cosplay this year with people coming dressed as versions of characters from both the films and comics. You'll find cosplay of Marvel's most popular heroes, like Wolverine and Deadpool, as well as the more obscure characters, like Kaecillius. There's a lot to see, so be sure to check out all of the photos ahead and tells us which you like the best. You can also check out all the best cosplay from day one, day two, and day three of SDCC 2018. While Marvel was expected to not have a big presence at SDCC 2018, the show has technically yielded some news. One of the biggest Marvel stories is Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn being fired by Disney after a series of controversial tweets from his past were resurfaced. In a statement concerning the termination, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said, "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him." Gunn was expected to appear at a Sony panel this year, but he ultimate was not present. In other Marvel-related news, Stan Lee recently made an unexpected cameo in a non-Marvel property; it should come as a surprise for long-time fans. And on the SDCC 2018 show floor, we spotted a massive statue of Thanos made entirely of Lego blocks. SDCC 2018 has yielded a plethora of exciting announcements around the latest seasons of big TV shows, like The Walking Dead, Star Trek Discovery, and Better Call Saul, as well as debut trailers for new shows, like DC's Titans and the TV adaptation of George RR Martin's sci-fi story, Nightflyers. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Day 2 brought even more news about everything from The Walking Dead and Star Trek: Discovery to Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And, as with the first day, there was also a ton of great cosplay, as fans of various movies, shows, and games took to the halls and streets around the San Diego Convention Center to show off their love for characters and franchises. With Comic-Con representing such a wide array of franchises and types of media, there's a huge amount of diversity in the cosplay to see. On Thursday, we spotted a variety of characters from Game of Thrones, Star Wars, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, among others. Those were again represented on Friday, but we also spotted some others, including Skyrim's Dragonborn, Captain Marvel, It's Pennywise, and Black Panther. SDCC's second day brought with it word that The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln will officially leave the program after Season 9. We also got new trailers for both that and Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, while Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 got a trailer and new details. But it wasn't at SDCC itself that the biggest entertainment news of the day was revealed. James Gunn, director and writer of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, was fired by Disney and will not be involved with the upcoming third film. The move was made in response to old tweets of Gunn's that surfaced online in which he discussed various controversial subjects. Gunn doesn't deny having written them, but did attempt to explain and apologize for them. Nevertheless, Disney and Marvel are done with Gunn. As a result of the news coming out, we didn't see the director make an appearance during the Sony Pictures panel as expected. He was believed to be there to reveal a new movie project, possibly a horror film we heard about last year. We'll continue to report all of the biggest news from Comic-Con, so stay tuned to GameSpot. You can also expect plenty more cosplay from the event as it continues. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage Captain Marvel

Marvel might have unintentionally had the biggest news of San Diego Comic-Con weekend when it fired James Gunn, but in terms of presences at the event, DC had the more prominent showing. Although SDCC is now in the rear-view mirror, there's still no shortage of cosplay to check out, and this year's event had quite a lot from DC fans. We've already rounded up some of our favorite cosplay from each day of the event, as well as the best that Marvel fans had on display. Now we're taking a look at all things DC cosplay, and that means Wonder Woman, Batman, Robin, Red Death, and many others are presented. It's no surprise that SDCC had so much cosplay. Despite its name, it's an event that's home to happenings for all manner of movies, TV shows, and games, whether or not they bear any connection to comics (which are of course at the show, too). Being open to the public, fans don't pass up the opportunity to show off their passion for their favorite franchises by dressing up in what can often be staggeringly impressive outfits. As noted above, DC had a lot of news to take in during SDCC. Aquaman finally got a new trailer, and its panel featured exclusive footage that showed the titular character in his classic garb. Wonder Woman 1984's panel similarly showed footage just for those in attendance, and there was some talk about the Chris Pine question--albeit without any satisfying answers. The much-anticipated Shazam movie got its first trailer, showcasing the kind of humor we can expect from the film. There was plenty more to take in from Comic-Con, so be sure to check out the highlights of our coverage through the links below. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage Red Death

Bird and Lime branded app-based conveyances have invaded cities around the US. Whether you live in the San Francisco bay or Baltimore, you've no doubt noticed that these scooters are suddenly everywhere. And that means everywhere. Some view the scooters as a fun new way to commute to work, while others see them as an infestation. The companies themselves have made insane amounts of cash on them, so until neighborhoods and cities start regulating their use, they're not going anywhere. And one thing is undeniable: The darn things are ubiquitous. It was definitely a trend this past week at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, where Birds and Limes could be seen cluttering up nearly every curb and street corner, hurled into hedges and abandoned near train tracks, parked in valet-only zones and driven right up to the doors of the Hilton Bayfront hotel. If you were in San Diego over the weekend, chances are you almost got hit by someone speeding down the sidewalk on one. Finding these things at worst, a nuisance--and at best, hilarious--the GameSpot team snapped as many pics of sad, abandoned scooters as we could. Enjoy! San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage

It doesn't matter if you're 4 or 44, it's undeniable that Sideshow Collectibles' Hot Toys line is amazing. While you may not want your four-year-old playing with these figures, they will look exceptionally cool set up around your house, but that's going to come at a price. At San Diego Comic-Con, Sideshow offered a look at some new and upcoming Hot Toys based on the movies Black Panther, Infinity War, and more. These figures contain an insane amount of detail, and they're all created to look exactly like the actors who portrayed these characters. Because of this, these toys come at a price. The Thanos figure--pictured above--is now available for pre-order and will cost $376. However, this is one of the more expensive Infinity War figures, as most cost just a little more than $200. Yes, it's expensive, but these are display pieces. There was a lot to see at Sideshow, but some of the highlights were Black Panther's T'Challa sitting in his throne, Shuri, Infinity War's Winter Soldier, and Doctor Strange. Check all the Marvel movie figures we saw, and get ready to tap into your savings account when many of these figures are released in early 2019. For more information of these Marvel Hot Toys, check out Sideshow, which will have the pricing, pre-order forms, and availability for the majority of the figures seen in this gallery. Additionally, check out the best Star Wars toys from the booth. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage
By Mat Elfring on Jul 25, 2018 01:40 am Well, that was weird.
During Comic-Con, many studios create fun activations that tie into their upcoming product which creates a buzz. Then, sometimes, a company does something really weird. At the show, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment created a sweepstakes where one person got to stay in the Deadpool Dream Suite to promote the upcoming Deadpool 2 Super Duper $@%!#& Cut, releasing in August. GameSpot took a tour of the room, which was redesigned to look like Blind Al's apartment from the movie. This room was not open to the public and only a few members of the press got to check it out before the sweepstakes winner slept in it on Saturday evening. The room was inside the Hard Rock Hotel in one of its most expensive suites, so seeing a luxurious, pricey room turned into a messy, dilapidated living room was pretty crazy. The entire suite was filled with drawings made by Deadpool, references to the two movies, and lots of little Easter eggs that gave visitors some insight into the Merc with the Mouth. Spoiler alert: He's crazy. Here's what we saw at the Deadpool Dream Suite. Deadpool 2 Super Duper $@%!#& Cut comes out digitally on August 7 and on Blu-ray, and 4K on August 21. Additionally, there was a Deadpool 2 animatronic show on the convention floor, which was also super weird. San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Coverage
