By Anonymous on Sep 02, 2018 08:30 pm With a lack of Nintendo Switch exclusive titles releasing this year, we chat about how this portable console is thriving on 3rd party games. By Anonymous on Sep 02, 2018 05:48 pm EA has released a new trailer for Anthem, the upcoming action game developed by Mass Effect and Dragon Age studio BioWare. The trailer is called "Our World, My Story" breaks down two of the central pillars of Anthem, providing an insight into how players will experience the universe the game is set in and the narrative it tells. "At the heart of Anthem is the concept of Our World, My Story," BioWare says. "The distinctive combination of a shared, dynamic world and a personal story. Discover how these two elements help create a connected world that remains unique to every player. "The world narrative advances for your whole team," it continues. "You'll get further into our world by taking on explosive missions offered by agents who need your help. These missions take you deep into the heart of anthem, while also developing the personal stories of each agent. Outside of the battles there's freeplay, a chance for you to explore solo or with friends, uncover answers your questions about Anthem, and find powerful artifacts that could lead you to victory down the road ... This is real-time storytelling, a reinvention of personal narrative in a multiplayer game." People will get an opportunity to sample some of this when a demo for Anthem is released on February 1, 2019. Announced during the game's PAX panel, the "VIP demo" will be available to EA/Origin Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC. Access to it will also be granted to those that pre-order on any platform, which means those with a PS4, where EA Access is not available, won't be left out. At PAX, Anthem lead producer Mike Gamble said the demo is not "a tech test or a beta looking for feedback" and is instead a "slice of our game." EA has confirmed the Anthem release date as February 22, 2019, so the wait to play the full game after the demo won't be too long. Since its showing at E3 2018 executive producer Mark Darrah has been answering questions about about the game on Twitter. You can read about all these Anthem gameplay details here. PAX West is home to some amazing cosplay every year and this year was no exception. The show brings together fandoms from across TV, movies, video games, comics and more and, as expected, everything from Fornite to League of Legends, and Marvel to DC were all well represented. Of course, Overwatch, the competitive shooter filled with unique, quirky, and iconic characters also had very strong representation. In this gallery, you'll find some of the coolest Overwatch cosplay we saw at PAX, including amazing costumes for Mercy, Junkrat, D.Va, Roadhog & more. For even more cosplay, make sure to check out our round-up of all the best costumes we saw during PAX West Day 1 as well as cosplay seen at the Fortnite mini-golf course. For a broader look at everything happening at PAX West 2018, be sure to check out all of our coverage of the event. For players of one of Overwatch's most popular heroes, D.Va, there's an opportunity to get a brand new skin inspired by her new animated short. D.Va's Nano Cola Challenge is a special event that is taking place until September 10 and allows players to get their hands on a range of sprays and a new skin, after meeting certain conditions. For the two new D.Va sprays you've got to win three games of Overwatch in Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade. With six wins you'll also get a player icon on top. And at nine wins you'll score the Nano Cola D.Va skin. You can read more about the unlocks in D.Va's Nano Cola Challenge here. The D.Va related updates for Overwatch don't stop there. The next new Overwatch map is called Busan and is themed around D.Va, Busan, taking place in her home, South Korea. "Explore the serene setting of the Sanctuary, surrounded by an ancient temple, beautiful gardens, and historic architecture," Blizzard said of the new Control map. "Clash in the bustling metropolis of Downtown, where players will fight across a busy PC bang, flashy karaoke bar, and central light rail station (just watch out for the train). "Contest for position in MEKA Base--home of South Korea's frontline defense against the gwishin omnic attacks: D.Va and the rest of the MEKA squad," it continues. "Teams must fight to hold each of the three stages to establish complete control of the city that refuses to surrender its way of life to any threat." And if you haven't already, make sure to watch the new D.Va short called "Shooting Star." Junkrat

By Anonymous on Sep 02, 2018 03:30 am Mary and Mike recover from last week's episode, and discover several new breeds of terrifying enemies. By Anonymous on Sep 02, 2018 02:00 am EA has announced that it will make a "VIP demo" for BioWare's Anthem available to EA/Origin Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC, respectively on February 1, 2019. The demo also be available to pre-order customers, which opens the door for PS4 players to get in on the action. The announcement was made during the studio's PAX West Panel. Anthem lead producer Mike Gamble said the demo is not "a tech test or a beta looking for feedback" and is instead a "slice of our game." EA has confirmed the Anthem release date as February 22, 2019. The game is a sci-fi action RPG that casts players as Freelancers, who are soldiers that are equipped with Javelins. These super high-tech Iron Man-like suits allow players to fly around environments and engage with enemies while completing quests either alone or with others. Anthem gameplay was last shown at E3 (watch video of that showing above). However, following the show executive producer Mark Darrah answered questions from fans about the game. During the Twitter Q&As Darrah discussed loadouts, customization of Javelins, weapons, equipment, and more. You can read about all these Anthem gameplay details in our previous coverage. By Anonymous on Sep 02, 2018 01:59 am Insomniac Games community director James Stevenson has revealed PS4's Spider-Man takes about 20 hours to beat. Stevenson unveiled the number when answering an inquisitive player's question on Twitter. It's worth noting that 20 hours is the average taken from multiple play testers. Stevenson wrote that 20 hours is about how long it takes for someone to beat Spider-Man on the default difficulty and only when completing some quests and activities. Those that do more will take "a lot longer." So the 20 hour mark is for the average player who's not looking to test themselves against the game's most challenging combat or complete every optional objective. To provide a comparison, most of Insomniac's games are about 10 hours long. One of the more notable exceptions is 2014's Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive--just under 20 hours on the default difficulty if you only do some of the side missions and gather a few of the collectibles. So Spider-Man is much closer in length to Sunset Overdrive than Insomniac's other titles, like Resistance 3, Fuse, or 2016's Ratchet & Clank. If you were hoping to beat Spider-Man in a weekend so you could get back to chipping at your backlog, it seems totally plausible. Spider-Man releases exclusively for PS4 on September 7. If you're looking for more information on the game, Kallie travelled to LA to interview Spider-Man's creative director Bryan Intihar. She also got to play a segment of the game as Mary Jane, whose levels are something you should be really excited about.
