While many moviegoers are excited for the big summer blockbusters coming our way in just a few months, the spring movie release schedule has more than a few movies that we're quite excited for. We're taking a look at 19 movies released between March and May that you need to check out, in the order of their release. Logan
Logan is the third--and more than likely final--Wolverine solo film, with Hugh Jackman reviving his role as the titular character. In Logan's newest adventure, he's protecting a young girl who has mutant abilities of her own, in a world where the X-Men, minus Charles Xavier, have died. We recently learned that the movie will have a post-credits scene. Also, check out our review of the film. Logan opens on March 3. Kong: Skull Island
Kong is back, but this time, the fight is on his home turf: Skull Island. Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Goodman star in this new film, and from what we've seen, this film looks equal parts thrilling and terrifying. Giant monster films are always a ton of fun, so we're looking forward to this one. Kong: Skull Island opens on March 10. Raw
This spring, we're also getting quite a few disturbing horror films, and the first one to kick off March is Raw. The official red band trailer for the film is terrifying. A young woman, who is vegan, heads to veterinarian school, and during a hazing from other students, is forced to eat meat. She starts to develop a taste for it and eventually works her way up to eating people. Raw gets a limited release on March 10. Beauty and the Beast
The classic Disney animated film, Beauty and the Beast, is getting a live-action remake, much like The Jungle Book did in 2016. Emma Watson plays Belle and Dan Stevens plays the Beast. The film will contain some of the much beloved songs from the original. Check out the trailer here, which shows off Gaston's dance moves. Beauty and the Beast opens on March 17. T2 Trainspotting
Twenty years ago, Trainspotting debuted, and it eventually became a cult classic. A sequel, which already hit Europe, is coming to the states in mid-March. Director Danny Boyle and writer John Hodge (adapting the work of Irvine Welsh) are back, following the exploits Renton, Sick Boy, Spud, and Begbie. You can catch a quick glimpse of what they're up to in the trailer for the film. T2 Trainspotting opens worldwide on March 17. The Belko Experiment
The Belko Experiment is an action/thriller film written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy). A group of workers are trapped in their office building in Columbia. That shouldn't be a big deal, but a mysterious voice is ordering them to kill each other or everyone dies. Check out the exciting trailer for yourself. The Belko Experiment opens on March 17. Power Rangers
Hollywood tries, once again, to take a beloved franchise and give it a reboot. This time, they're taking on the martial arts awesomeness that is the Power Rangers. Five teenagers find power coins that give them extraordinary abilities. They must come together to take on Rita Repulsa and Goldar. Check out the trailer for the upcoming film here. Power Rangers opens on March 24. Life
A group of astronauts--inside a space station orbiting Earth--receive a capsule from Mars with evidence of alien life in it. It turned out this life isn't friendly, and the astronauts must do everything in their power to make sure the alien doesn't get to Earth, where it can destroy all of humanity. Check out the eerie trailer of Life for yourself. Life opens on March 24. Bokeh
A couple vacationing in Iceland wake up to discover everyone has disappeared. To make matters worse, it seems everyone in the world is gone. Having the world to yourself quickly becomes a nightmare, as you can see in the trailer. Believe it or not, Bokeh started as a Kickstarter project. Bokeh hits iTunes and On Demand on March 24. Ghost in the Shell
Scarlett Johansson stars in the Hollywood version of the popular anime, Ghost in the Shell. The film follows Johansson's character, a cyborg police officer who is hot on the case of a hacker. It will be interesting to see the American take on this beloved Japanese anime and manga series. You can check out the Super Bowl trailer to learn more here. Ghost in the Shell opens on March 31. The Discovery
Netflix has an interesting movie debuting on it at the end of March. In The Discovery, scientists find out that there is an afterlife, and people around the world start killing themselves to get to the new plane of existence. Netflix has been putting out some really cool science fiction flicks, like Arq and Spectral, but The Discovery looks like the streaming service is raising the bar. Check out the trailer for yourself. The Discovery hits Netflix on March 31. Colossal
Anne Hathaway stars as Gloria in Colossal, which is quite the bizarre take on a monster film, as you can tell from the trailer. A monster attacks Seoul, and Gloria comes to the realization that she's actually in control of the gigantic beast. The trailer has a great, comedic slant to it, which is a nice offset after you learn how many people the monster killed during the course of the movie. Colossal opens on April 7. The Fate of the Furious
"When you're here, you're family." That's either a quote from Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto from the Fast and the Furious franchise or the slogan to a chain Italian restaurant. Regardless, this time, in Fate of the Furious, Toretto betrays his family as he's seduced by a mysterious woman. The trailer looks crazy and is filled with over-the-top action, which is exactly what you'd expect from another Fast and the Furious film. The Fate of the Furious opens on April 14. The Circle
Emma Watson stars in The Circle as Mae, a young woman who gets a job at a tech company, and everything on the surface seems perfect. However, as she becomes more involved in the company, she learns that the owner, played by Tom Hanks, is keeping an eye on everything and everyone--and not just inside the company. Check out the trailer here where Mae has to choose between Mario or Sonic. The Circle opens on April 28. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The newest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer is here, and it looks like one hell of a fun ride. The characters you know and love from the first film are back, and they are taking on a brand new villain. This time, we'll be learning a bit more about Peter Quill's father, played by Kurt Russell, which we discuss in the trailer breakdown here. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens on May 5. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam stars as King Arthur in this Guy Ritchie film. It's the classic sword in the stone story with an action backdrop. This isn't going to change your life, but it looks like a fun popcorn movie. You can check out the trailer here. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword opens on May 12. Snatched
Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer star as a mother and daughter who go on an exotic vacation together. Unfortunately for them, they get kidnapped. The two try their best to escape their captors and make it home in this comedy. There doesn't seem to be a lot of strong comedies coming out in May, so this may be your best bet if you want to get a few laughs in. You can check out the red band trailer here. Snatched opens on May 12. Alien: Covenant
The Alien franchise has had its fair share of stumbling the past decade or so, but it looks like Alien: Covenant is going to change that. Director Ridley Scott returns to tell the tale of the crew of a colony ship who finds a planet that contains something sinister. The latest trailer for the film is terrifying. Alien: Covenant opens on May 19. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Finally, there's another installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. In this latest adventure, Javier Bardem plays the newest villain, Captain Salazar--whose hair always looks like it is floating in water. We haven't seen too much of this film yet, but you can expect an fun adventure film with some comedic undertones. You can watch the trailer for yourself right here. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales opens on May 26.
