YouTube Red has delivered a serious leg sweep with its newest original program, Cobra Kai. The series, which follows up on the movie The Karate Kid nearly 35 years later, just debuted on the streaming service and has already been renewed.
In a press release touting the renewal, executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg say, "Continuing the Karate Kid saga with YouTube Red has been a dream come true. We are grateful to all our creative partners for giving us the freedom to revisit and expand the LaRusso/Lawrence rivalry. And we are truly exhilarated by the tidal wave of support from fans of this story, both old and new."
At this point, a release date for the new season has yet to be announced. However, YouTube Red is spilling quite a few details on what to expect from Cobra Kai when it returns.
When can you expect it?
While a specific date has not been revealed, YouTube Red says the new season will arrive in 2019. Production on the series resumes this fall.
How many episodes will be in Season 2?
As with Season 1, the next batch will include 10 half-hour episodes.
Who is returning?
Naturally, William Zabka, and Ralph Macchio will be back as Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso, respectively. Also signed on to return are Xolo Mariduena (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keane), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), and Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso). There's no word yet on recurring stars like Nichole Brown (Aisha) and Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), but it's hard to imagine the new Cobra Kai Dojo without them.
What will it be about?
This is where we're getting into spoiler territory. If you've yet to watch the show, stop reading now. But also, what are you waiting for? As GameSpot's Cobra Kai review will tell you, this is not a show to be missed.
The first season ended with the new Cobra Kai Dojo having won the All-Valley Karate Tournament after Miguel showed no mercy against Robby in the finals. However, the regret on Johnny's face was clear after realizing the way he trained his students brought pain and defeat to his own son, Robby.
Clearly, Season 2 will continue to deal with the incredibly strained relationship between Johnny and Robby, as the former also likely reevaluates the lessons he learned from his days as a Cobra Kai student. However, complicating matters was the return of Johnny's sensei John Kreese (Martin Cove) in the season's final moments.
Johnny previously claimed his sensei was dead. However, he's very much alive and seems pleased with the dojo's rise to greatness once again. Could Season 2 lead to a showdown between the student and his teacher? That's a question that won't be answered until 2019.

Bethesda appears to be teasing an upcoming announcement with a vague image of the Big Ben clocktower in London, England. A tweet consists only of an image of the tower, with bright pink streaks of graffiti across its face. The Internet is already scouring the image for clues.
Recently Walmart Canada appeared to have leaked several upcoming game announcements, including Rage 2 from Bethesda. The company had an uncharacteristic reaction for a publisher, publicly responding to the leak with gentle chiding. The official Twitter account for Rage made a point of mocking the placeholder image for using the wrong font and incorrect key art. All this is notable because the hot pink paint used for the anarchy logo and notes appear to be similar to the one on the Big Ben clock face. The paint even looks like it could be a partial anarchy symbol.
Also potentially a clue is the time, which is set at 5:14. That could correspond to a date, which would be this Monday. Altogether it seems possible that a Rage 2 announcement of some sort could be coming next week. Whether this would have been the original plan or if the company is just responding quickly to the cat being let out of the bag isn't clear.
Or, all this could be entirely off the mark and Bethesda is teasing something else entirely. With E3 2018 rapidly approaching, we'll know soon enough. Bethesda's E3 showcase is planned for Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. ET.
Anyone on the hunt for free games has a couple of worthwhile options today. First, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee's price got dropped to zero on Steam for a limited time. Now Yet Another Zombie Defense has done the same. You can download it here for free. But hurry up, because the price goes back up on Friday, May 11.
While it's not the most visually stunning game on Steam, don't let the self-deprecating title fool you: there's fun to be had here. The setting is a gray span of ground centered around a light post during the zombie apocalypse. During the day, your job is to build up defenses like weapon turrets and spiked barricades to create a secure base. When night comes, so do the zombies. The goal then is to stay alive as long as possible. Ideally, the sun will rise on a landscape spattered with the blood of zombies, and you'll be around to start again.
You can also play Yet Another Zombie Defense with up to three friends online or via local co-op. The people who have downloaded the game on Steam seem to think highly of it. With over 10,000 user reviews, Yet Another Zombie Defense has a "Very Positive" rating.
If you like the game and you want to spring for a slightly more polished version, you can grab Yet Another Zombie Defense HD on sale right now on Steam for $1. It has smoother animation, new undead enemies, better physics, and controller support.
Digital Extremes has released a big update for the console version of Warframe. The Beasts of the Sanctuary update is now available for free on PS4 and Xbox One, and it introduces a wealth of content to the sci-fi shooter, including a new Warframe, weapons, mode, and more.
Headlining the update is Khora, the 35th Warframe to arrive to the game to date and the first new one of 2018. Digital Extremes describes Khora as a "stylistically armor-clad" Warframe who "offers a versatile combination of offensive and defensive capabilities." She wields a metallic whip that can strike from a distance and call upon her pet Kavat to attack enemies.
Khora can be obtained in Sanctuary Onslaught, a new team-based survival mode. Here, players will have to work together with up to three others to fight through increasingly challenging waves of enemies and escape through randomly placed portals. By completing waves and traveling deeper into the Sanctuary, players will unlock Khora's blueprints, a new capture scene, and more.
Additionally, the Beasts of the Sanctuary update introduces a handful of new weapons, including the sniper rifle-like Veldt and Khora's signature gun and swords, the Hystrix and Dual Keres. Players can also get a couple of new weapon and character skins. You can read more about the Beasts of the Sanctuary update on the official Warframe website.
Coinciding with the update, Digital Extremes has kicked off a new limited-time event in Warframe, called Operation: Plague Star. Players can participate in the event from now until 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET on May 22 to earn rewards such as an Event Emblem, Ether Daggers, and Zaw Components.

BioWare is best known for its work on single-player games, although it does have some experience on the multiplayer side as well. With Anthem seemingly being designed as EA's answer to Destiny, multiplayer appears to be a big focus. But for those who are more interested in going about things on their own, the game will also be playable solo.
In the latest blog post from BioWare boss Casey Hudson, the company's updated mission statement is outlined: "We create worlds of adventure, conflict, and companionship that inspire you to become the hero of your story." Hudson emphasized the companionship part, as he says the company's games are meant to feature other characters on your adventures--whether those are AI- or human-controlled.
"However we design it, we always want to capture the special feeling of being on a journey with memorable companions," Hudson said. "I talked last time about Anthem being 'a story you can experience with friends.' There were, understandably, some questions and concerns about story in multiplayer. Specifically, 'What if I don't want to play with randos?' 'What if I don't have friends that I play games with?' And, 'I like to be the one making choices in my story--if it's multiplayer, won't the story get watered down?'"
Hudson attempted to dispel any concerns over this, admitting that they are things he worries about as a player as well. He called attention to the "become the hero of your story" aspect of BioWare's mission statement, saying that you as an individual should be creating a character and deciding what happens.
"I think the reason people are concerned about whether these things are possible in a multiplayer game is because it just hasn't been solved well before," he said. "With Anthem we're taking this problem head-on and structuring the entire game design to provide a specific solution for this."
Unfortunately, Hudson didn't actually explain just how this problem is being tackled. These details will be shared "very soon," but he said that you don't have to worry about being forced to engage in multiplayer.
"We think it creates a unique experience where you have control over your own story, but your story is set in an ever-changing multiplayer world," he said. "And yes, even though Anthem is meant to bring out the best parts of playing as part of an online community, you can choose to play through the story with only your friends, or even on your own.
"It's true--we're trying something really different here. Anthem represents one way to deliver innovation and new experiences in the spirit of our mission. We also have teams envisioning future BioWare games, and they're designing approaches that are different from Anthem--including one that's very Dragon Age. As we try new things, I hope that you'll come on the journey with us, and continue asking questions that will help shape Anthem into something we'll all love to play."
Just prior to E3 2018, EA will host its annual EA Play event. BioWare will share "lots more details" on Anthem there, presumably including more on what Hudson outlined in the blog post. We still know very little about the game, but its release is approaching quickly--after a delay that pushed it out of 2018, it's now due out by March 2019. EA also plans to have some kind of early access or beta test for the game, although specifics on that also remain unknown.

Breaking news: Rick and Morty is never going away, at least not for a very long time. Adult Swim has renewed the animated series from creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland for an additional 70 episodes. For those keeping track, that means new episodes of Rick and Morty should be arriving for years to come.
Roiland chimed in about the news on Twitter, writing, "More Rick and Morty coming. Looking forward to all the tweets asking where it is!" Naturally, Adult Swim's announcement doesn't include a timeframe for when the series might return, but Roiland tweets that it's being drawn.
The renewal comes on the heels of what was a massive year for Rick and Morty, as the series transcended cable TV and became something of a pop culture anomaly when it made a simple joke about a discontinued McDonald's sauce. When the fast food chain fumbled a temporary return of its Szechuan sauce, thousands of the show's fans were left angry and Rick and Morty seemingly benefitted from all of the free press.
Now, though the show likely won't premiere its fourth season for some time, Adult Swim has a plan for Rick and Morty fans to get their fix over the summer. Once again, the Rickmobile--a mobile pop-up shop--will travel the country starting May 17.
Given that the series has been renewed for 70 episodes, that means fans likely have at least seven more seasons of Rick and Morty to look forward to. A typical season runs 10 episodes. If you factor in the year or more between each of the first three seasons, that could keep Rick and Morty alive on Adult Swim for over a decade to come.
Looking to save money on pricey Nintendo products? Newegg will lend a hand. Thanks to a deal that's live right now, you can save $20 off the price of a Nintendo Switch, or $15 off either Nintendo Labo set. But because the online retailer seems to be allergic to traditional sale prices, you have to enter promo codes to get the discounts. Here are the details.
To get a Nintendo Switch for $280, click here for the gray Joy-Con version or here for the neon Joy-Con version, and add the console to your cart. Before checking out, enter promo code EMCPUEP72. That's it. Apply the promo code, and Newegg will knock $20 off the price of your Switch. This promotion ends on Saturday, May 12.
As for the Labo, you can get the Variety Kit for $15 off by entering promo code EMCPUEP68 at checkout. The final price will come to $55. If you'd rather create the Robot Kit, add it to your cart and enter promo code EMCPUEP68 at checkout. That brings the price down to $65. The Labo deal is good between now and Wednesday, May 16.
You probably already know if you want to buy Nintendo's latest console, but here's our Nintendo Switch review in case you want more information. As for the kits, here's an excerpt from our Nintendo Labo review: "It's nice to have something to tinker with long after building the Toy-Cons, and that's mainly because the official games are more like demos to show you how everything works. The only one likely to keep your attention for any length of time is the piano; everything else is a jumping off point, and you're limited by how much it inspires you to create. And that's just what Labo is at the moment: a great tool for creation, rather than for playing."
The most utterly ridiculous cereals ever based on movies, TV shows, video games, and more
The 1980s and 1990s were a great time to be a kid if you loved cereal. Every trip to the grocery store would find a new offering on the breakfast cereal aisle, taking a movie, TV show, video game, or celebrity and turning it into a sugary morning treat.
While themed cereal can still be found in stores--we're looking at you, Fruity Pebbles--the glory days that saw practically every title getting its own special blend of marshmallows, corn, rice, and oats have come to an end. Ralston, the company behind many of the best-remembered offerings, no longer dabbles in licensed foods. In fact, based on their website, the company now specializes in cereal that looks similar to name brands like Fruit Loops and Cocoa Puffs, while being different enough to be marketed as a different product. How the might have fallen. Then again, in its heyday, Ralston was actually known as Ralston Purina and dedicated a sizable chunk of its business into making pet food, so perhaps its better off now.
How important is taste and originality in these cereals anyway? After all, one of the biggest reasons anyone bought these was due to the characters emblazoned on the boxes and the prizes that were included with the cereal. Who cares what Batman cereal tastes like when it comes with a bank in the shape of the Caped Crusader? Thankfully, there were still some colorful and tasty cereals to be found back then, right Spider-Man?
Take a trip back in time with GameSpot as we revisit 22 of those cereals--both good and bad. How many of these do you remember sitting down with at breakfast?
Image: Sony Entertainment
1. Urkel-Os
There was a time when nothing in pop culture was hotter than Steve Urkel, the nerdy character on Family Matters. In an age where the TGIF programming block ruled the world, Urkel was its king. This cereal that was first released in 1991--and remained in production until 2000--is proof of that.
Image: Ralston
2. Nintendo Cereal System
When it came to video games, nothing was hotter in the late '80s than the Nintendo Entertainment System. It permeated pop culture in such a way that it spawned merchandise, cartoons, and even the movie The Wizard. Naturally, like many popular properties, it also got a cereal--two if you want to get technical. In each box were two bags, one a Super Mario Bros. cereal and one for The Legend of Zelda. What a time to be alive.
Image: Ralston
3. Bill and Ted's Excellent Cereal
Excellent! A Bill & Ted cereal not only existed, but it wasn't based on the movies. Instead, this cereal followed the cartoon and featured the animated versions of Bill and Ted emblazoned on the box. The real joy of this breakfast wasn't the marshmallows, though. Instead, it was the prize that came with the cereal--a cassette tape holder shaped like Bill and Ted's phone booth time machine.
Image: Ralston
4. Smurfberry Crunch
For many, Smurfberry Crunch is the gold standard for sugary cereals based on TV shows and movies. The fruity corn and wheat cereal first debuted in 1981 and lasted for years before an addition to the Smurf's cereal line--Magic Berries--that added marshmallows to the mix in 1987.
Image: Post Cereals
5. The Addams Family
Addams Family cereal sounds like a great idea, in theory. However, its pieces were made to resemble skulls, dismembered hands, and headless dolls--all things very familiar to this particular family. Serving a bowl of that to a kid could be pretty traumatic, though. However, there was a period of the time where the "toy" it included was a flashlight made to resemble a character from the movie. That's pretty exciting for a kid.
Image: Ralston
6. Donkey Kong
Mario and Zelda had to share a cereal. Before that, though, Donkey Kong got a box all to himself. According to the box, it was "crunchy barrels of fun." While that doesn't exactly found appetizing, what's not to love about a video game-themed cereal with a taste similar to Captain Crunch?
Image: Ralston
7. E.T. Cereal
While the E.T. Atari game may have been a colossal bomb, the cereal was not the same case. Taking a note from E.T.'s love of Reese's Pieces in the movie, the cereal was flavored like peanut butter and chocolate. Among the bonus prizes included in the box were trading cards, as well as a picture of Michael Jackson and E.T.--because why not?
Image: General Mills
8. The Real Ghostbusters
This is another cereal based on a cartoon that's based on a movie. This particular cereal was released three times under three different names and was incredibly simple, in terms of design. Marshmallow ghosts mixed with fruity Os, to create the Ghostbusters logo in your cereal bowl. The best part of this cereal, though, was the prizes that came in the box--from glow-in-the-dark door hangers to buttons to frisbees.
Image: Ralston
9. Batman
Like many Ralston cereals, Batman essentially consisted of themed corn pieces--bats in this instance--and a standard sweet flavor. The prizes were where Batman was able to shine. Honestly, the only reason to get this cereal was for the Batman bank that came attached to the front. Who's going to keep your change safer than the Dark Knight?
Image: Ralston
10. Gremlins
This sweetened cereal may not be all that exciting--its pieces are meant to look like Gizmo but they don't--but it's hard to resist something as adorable as the mogwai on its box. Inside the box with the cereal was a sticker, which is a decent bonus. However, the big prize was something you had to actually mail away for--a plush Gizmo.
Image: Ralston
11. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
It's essentially Rice Chex ("ninja nets") with marshmallows. The marshmallows in question are shaped like ninja weapons and pizzas, everything needed for a radically tasty breakfast. None of that matters, though, without what is perhaps the most beloved prize of all time-- a Ninja Turtle-shaped cereal bowl. You could eat your Ninja Turtles cereal out of a Ninja Turtles bowl.
Image: Ralston
12. Fruity Pebbles/Cocoa Pebbles
Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles are undeniably the most successful licensed cereal of all time. They were first released in 1971 and can still be found in stores today, almost 50 years later. Clearly, Post stumbled onto something good when it came to The Flintstones.
Image: Post Cereals
13. Spider-Man
The Spider-Man cereal from 1995 is very similar to Ralston's Ninja Turtles offering. This time, though, the "ninja nets" were spiderwebs and the marshmallows were supposed to be pumpkin bombs, "spider symbols," Peter Parker's camera, and Kingpin. In reality, they were essentially blobs of various colors.
Image: Ralston
14. GI Joe Action Stars
This cereal arrived in stores in 1985--the same year the cartoon premiered. It wasn't colorful or flashy, but it was part of a complete breakfast to help create a real American hero… probably. What's most important is the mini-comic books that came packaged in the box. Cereal and comics, what more do you need?
Image: Ralston
15. C-3PO's
And you thought the Star Wars Christmas Special was the most shameless cash-in on this franchise. These were essentially Honey Nut Cheerios in a figure-eight shape. As for prizes, they varied from trading cards to a Rebel Rocket toy.
Image: Kellogg's
16. Mr. T
We pity the fool that never got to try Mr. T's cereal. Why did Mr. T have a cereal, you ask? Between his appearance in Rocky III and his role on The A-Team, Mr. T was a pop culture sensation in the early 1980s and that got him his own breakfast. If only they'd come up with a better idea than pieces shaped like T and literally nothing else, though.
Image: Quaker
17. Pac-Man
Following the success of Donkey Kong's cereal, it was Pac-Man's turn. This cereal features Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and ghost marshmallows, along with sweet balls of corn. Among the prizes offered inside was bubblegum. There was also the possibility of winning a full-size Pac-Man arcade game.
Image: General Mills
18. Donkey Kong Jr.
Donkey Kong cereal was a little too basic--thankfully, Donkey Kong Jr. righted the wrongs of his father. Out are the crunchy barrels. Instead, this cereal is made up of pieces shaped and flavored like bananas and berries, putting a fruity twist on breakfast.
Image: Ralston
19. Rainbow Brite
Of course, the Rainbow Brite cereal--based on the cartoon and movie--is rainbow-colored and shaped. It's essentially Fruit Loops, but with half-circles instead of full loops. The only notable prize, really, was a colorful chain necklace you could mail away for. What's the point of buying cereal without a toy in it?
Image: Ralston
20. Morning Funnies
With so many cereals based on well-known cartoons and movies, opting to create one based on newspaper comic strips might not seem like a cutting-edge idea. What's even more bizarre is the cereal itself had nothing to do with the various comic strips it licensed. It was simply made up of smiling faces in a variety of colors.
Image: Ralston
21. Booty O's
Where do you start with Booty O's? What started as an on-screen joke made by the trio known as New Day became an actual breakfast cereal you could buy in stores and a never-ending string of merchandise. The oat-based breakfast comes packed with marshmallows that look like trombones and booties, to name a few shapes. If only Ralston was still a cereal giant that could mass produce it.
Image: WWE
22. Pro Stars
Not every cereal can be based on a fictional character, right? That's where Pro Stars, which puts the spotlight on sports celebrities, comes in. We know what you're thinking: That's what Wheaties are for, right? Thankfully, Pro Stars added funny to the mix and included a contest to win breakfast with Wayne Gretzky. Top that, Wheaties.
Destiny 2's new Warmind DLC and accompanying 1.2.0 update went live this week, and it apparently introduced a new way for Bungie to deal with problematic weapons. The Exotic hand cannon Rat King has been found to be bugged, and rather than deal with it as it has in the past, Bungie has outright disabled use of the weapon for the time being.
One of the key aspects of the 1.2.0 update was the revamp of Exotic weapons. A large number of the game's Exotics have been changed in some way with the overall goal of making them more distinct and satisfying to use. The Graviton Lance, for instance, was a neat idea--slain enemies would explode--but it was hard to use previously. Now, it's not only powerful and useful, it's just downright incredibly fun to use (so much so that I'm finding it hard to switch to anything else).
Rat King is another one of the many weapons that has been revamped, seeing more changes than most. The key aspect of this Exotic is that, as more members of your Fireteam have it equipped, the more powerful it becomes. Here's what update 1.2.0 changed, as detailed in Bungie's patch notes:
Enhanced the total stat benefits of running with a pack
Benefits are front-loaded; there are now larger damage benefits when two people equip the Exotic, with slight damage increases for each additional player
The Rat Pack perk can now activate and stack while Rat King is stowed
Added HUD notification text for when the Rat Pack perk is active
Increased ammo inventory
Added full auto
Through a process detailed on Reddit, it was possible to glitch your way into getting Rat King's buffs to apply to other weapons, even including rocket launchers. That was apparently deemed to be too much for Bungie to permit.
Although it didn't cite the exact bug, Bungie declared that it was temporarily disabling the weapon until it could address it. "Due to an issue impacting Rat King, we are temporarily disabling access to this weapon," it announced on Twitter. "Players may experience issues if they currently have the weapon equipped. Signing out and back in to Destiny 2 will resolve these issues." There's no in-game explanation of this; when trying to equip the weapon currently, players are directed to Bungie's website.
This is actually fairly unusual. After the Curse of Osiris DLC launched, another Exotic weapon, Prometheus Lens, was found to be far too powerful due to a bug. It arguably ruined Crucible for a period of time, as it could annihilate the competition. But Bungie didn't disable it, and actually went in the opposite direction--as it worked on a fix, Xur offered the weapon for sale, effectively letting everyone get their hands on one, even with Trials of Osiris about to get underway.
Bungie apparently is now able to disable a weapon outright. Whether that's the right approach is a matter of some debate. Whatever the case, there's currently no estimate for how soon players will be able to get Rat King back in their hands.
Capcom is bringing the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX to the West this summer. Retitled Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the online action RPG will launch exclusively for Switch in North America and Europe on August 28.
Generations Ultimate is an expanded version of the series' last mainline 3DS installment, Monster Hunter Generations. It features additional content, including two new Hunting Styles (Alchemy and Valor), an additional Elder Dragon, and a new endgame boss. Players will also be able to embark on "G Rank" quests, which Capcom says feature "even more formidable versions of familiar foes."
Those who've purchased Monster Hunter Generations on 3DS will be able to transfer their save data to Generations Ultimate on Switch and continue playing with their same hunters. The game also allows players to use touch screen inputs for Hunter Arts--powerful attacks that can be unleashed after filling up your Arts Gauge--and supports four-player local and online multiplayer.
Up until now, Monster Hunter XX has only been available in Japan. The game first launched for 3DS last March and was ported to Switch in August. The Switch version proved to be a big success for Capcom, but at the time the publisher said it had "no plans" to bring the game to other regions.
Like previous Monster Hunter games, the Japanese version of XX received special cross-promotional gear following its launch. Most notably, Capcom released a set of armor based on Link's Champion's Tunic from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Players could also craft a Korok costume for their Palico.
The most recent game in the series, Monster Hunter World, launched for PS4 and Xbox One back in January, with a PC release still to follow sometime this fall. Capcom acknowledged that fans had been asking for a Switch version of Monster Hunter World, but said that a port would be "difficult."
By now, hopefully, you've seen Avengers: Infinity War, and you're probably wondering where next year's Avengers 4 will go, considering how many people died in the recent movie. Obviously, everyone that passed away with the dreaded "Thanos Snap" can't stay dead forever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, right? Otherwise, the MCU would barely have any heroes left to fight new bad guys.
However, there's a good chance that not everyone will be coming back to life or end up dying in the fourth Avengers movie. So we're taking a look at the major players that Thanos killed and figuring out their chance of survival after the Mad Titan is completely defeated. Obviously, Infinity War spoilers are ahead.
We don't know much about Avengers 4, which hits theaters on May 3, 2019, not even the official title. Recently, we learned that Warlock--who appeared in a cocoon during a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 mid-credit scene--will not be in the next Avengers movie. Surprisingly enough, most of what Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo shot for Infinity War made it into the film, aside from one Guardians joke.
Keep in mind, this is all speculation, with little to no backing evidence for these claims. Obviously, a few characters on this list will be coming back--as they have future movies in the works--but for everyone one else listed, we simply looked at their possible future within the MCU to see if bringing them back made sense. We're starting off with who is definitely staying dead. Click here to jump to who is coming back to life.
7. Staying Dead: Heimdall
Asgard is gone, and we're still not entirely sure how many of the leftover Asgardians actually survived the Thanos Snap. In the grand scheme of things, Heimdall has no Bifrost to guard, and he was straight-up killed by Thanos in the opening of the movie. As much as we love him, he doesn't serve much of a purpose in the future of the MCU, and it's ok if he stays dead.
6. Staying Dead: Falcon
Falcon has been a secondary character in the Captain America films. He's essentially part of the B-Team (sorry, Falcon fans). And while many members of the B-Team will pave the way for a new generation of Avengers, Falcon will most likely not be a part of it.
5. Staying Dead: Maria Hill
Like Falcon, Hill has more or less been involved in SHIELD's coming and goings, as well as whatever Steve Rogers is up to both on the small and big screen. While Agents of SHIELD still airs on ABC--where it's in its fifth season--Hill hasn't appeared on an episode in three years. SHIELD itself isn't what it used to be, mainly since Winter Soldier, so Hill doesn't really have a place in the MCU anymore.
4. Staying Dead: Black Order
(Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian)
We don't know much about the Black Order, but they sure were cool. Yes, there is a chance that we could learn a bit more about the adopted sons and daughter of Thanos, but when the dust settles at the end of Avengers 4, these characters will be all kaput. There is no reason to keep them around.
3. Staying Dead: Gamora
This is a tough decision to make, but if anyone on the Guardians is going to die for real, it has to be Gamora. She has such an important role on the team and her growing relationship with Star-Lord was a nice addition to Infinity War. However, because Thanos sacrificed her, and she's trapped in the Soul Stone, we have a feeling there's no coming back from that. Additionally, we saw in Infinity War that Star-Lord lost it when he heard Gamora died. This will change him, but will it be for better or worse? How will this affect the team in the long run?
2. Staying Dead: Nick Fury
What in the heck has Nick Fury been up to anyway? We'll learn more about the character in 2019's Captain Marvel, but aside from the post-credit sequence in Infinity War, Fury hasn't been in a Marvel movie since 2015's Age of Ultron. He's not a character that's needed in the current MCU. He may have help set everything apart, but it's grown so much without him. Additionally, if Fury stays dead, this could pave the way for Stark to take over in a mentorship role for the future Avengers, much like he did in Homecoming.
1. Staying Dead: Loki
Loki's story has run its course in the MCU. He's been a friend and a foe throughout his numerous appearances in movies, and strangely enough, he's been incredibly entertaining along the way. Before the next phase at Marvel can start, it needs to say goodbye to its first major villain, and that's Loki.
6. Coming Back: Bucky
Bucky staying alive after Avengers 4 is debatable, as his fate could go either way. Is he completely needed for the future of the MCU? Not necessarily, but there has been so much development for Bucky through Captain America, Winter Soldier, Civil War, his post-credit scene in Black Panther, and now in Infinity War, that killing him off seems like a waste. We see him as a leader in the future of the MCU, even though he's been along a whole lot longer than most of the other characters in these franchises.
5. Coming Back: Doctor Strange
Even though there has only been one movie dealing with the mystic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's already gone through a leadership change. Doctor Strange is now the Sorcerer Supreme and keeping him dead weakens that element of the MCU. In order to build on this aspect, Strange needs to stay alive, so we can all have more magical moments.
4. Coming Back: Vision & Scarlet Witch
While some may think this duo's lives are up for debate, these two will be the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Infinity War hinted that Vision can function without the Mind Stone, and we have a feeling Shuri worked her magic to make that happen. Furthermore, who doesn't want a love story between Avengers? Both Vision and Scarlet Witch are extremely powerful characters who haven't reached their full potential, which could help make for future storylines as well.
3. Coming Back: Most Of The Guardians of the Galaxy
(Drax, Groot, Star-Lord, And Mantis)
At the end of Infinity War, Rocket and Nebula were the last standing members of the Guardians, and Nebula is an associate of the team at best. Considering there is a third Guardians movie on the horizon, the team will need actual members to function properly. We don't see anyone from the team mentioned above staying dead after Avengers 4. We may not be able to handle it as we're still getting over the death of Yondu.
2. Coming Back: Spider-Man
Much like Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming already has a sequel in the works. Secondly, this is a new Spider-Man, and one that's actually in the MCU, so getting rid of the web-slinger is not the best idea. It feels like Sony finally got it right with casting someone who looks like and can play a teenager, so why waste it now?
1. Coming Back: Black Panther
The return of T'Challa is a no-brainer. Aside from the fact a Black Panther sequel has been confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the character is so new to the MCU, and there is so much to explore--and not just in Wakanda. There is a huge demand from fans for more Black Panther, so there is no way he's going anywhere, anytime soon.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' new Savage map--now known as Sanhok--returns for a third round of testing tonight on PC. Ahead of the test, developer PUBG Corp. has shared patch notes on Steam, detailing the long list of changes players will encounter on this iteration of the map.
Most notably, PUBG Corp. has expanded Sanhok with four new areas: Cave, Tambang, Lakawi, Na Kham. Existing areas have also been renamed, and an assortment of them, such as Bhan (formerly Banyan Grove) and Mongnai (Coconut Farm), have received "various improvements." You can see screenshots of the new and tweaked areas in the gallery below.
Additionally, PUBG Corp. has adjusted the spawn rate of certain weapons on Sanhok. The overall amount of item spawns on the map has been increased, as has total the amount of AR-type weapons. Specifically, PUBG Corp. has upped the spawn ratio of the M16A4 and AKM, while the M416 has been slightly decreased--although the developer says "the total amount spawned will remain similar to before." Perhaps most importantly, players can now throw apples before boarding the plane.
PUBG Corp. has also adjusted how the red zone works on Sanhok. This time, the red zone will "generally" no longer appear within the white circle. This won't always hold true, particularly when the blue circle is too close to the white one, but the developer says this change will make it riskier to play outside of the safe zone.
Lastly, PUBG Corp. has addressed a handful of issues that cropped up in previous incarnations of the map. In particular, the developer has removed some invisible objects in buildings and fixed an issue that caused the "aim punch" effect to be "too noticeable." Blood effects will also now appear as intended, and the minimap displays areas 200 meters away, as opposed to 100.
You can read more about the changes on Steam. The third Sanhok test will begin tonight, May 10, and runs until May 14; you can find the exact start and end times below. This time, the test will be open to everyone who owns a copy of PUBG. To get in, all you'll need to do is download the Experimental Test Server client, which will automatically appear in your Steam library prior to the test. The same client can also be used for future Sanhok betas.
