Every time you turn around, it seems like GameStop is running a new weekly sale. This week's set of deals is full of many games that always seem to be on sale, as well as a bunch of Nintendo Switch games that get discounts more rarely. So if you could use a new Switch game to energize your downtime, now might be the time to take the plunge. Without further ado, here are the highlights from this week's GameStop sale.
Let's start with the deals for Nintendo Switch owners. For starters, you can get an additional dock set on sale for $50. That comes in handy if you want to use your device on multiple TVs without carting the dock around. As for software, you can get the delightful turn-based strategy game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle for $30, the colorful platformer Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition for $20, or the dancing game Just Dance 2018 for $35. You can find more Switch deals below.
PS4 and Xbox One owners can grab Overwatch for $30, just in time for the game's anniversary event that's going on now. The crime epic Yakuza 0 is down to $30, and a whole mess of Lego games is on sale for between $20 and $30.
Now for some miscellaneous deals this week at GameStop. If you pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, you'll get access to the beta. If you buy an Xbox One X, you'll get a free copy of NBA 2K18 (though the game is also on sale this week for $30). You can pop into your local GameStop to get a free legendary Shiny Zygarde in Pokemon Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. There's also a PC download sale that gets you up to 75% off select games from Activision, EA, WB, 2K, and Rockstar.
Get ready for another comic book adaptation on Netflix--and this time it's definitely not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The streaming service has given a straight-to-series order to an adaptation of Locke and Key, the IDW comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
For those unfamiliar with Locke and Key, the story follows a family that moves into a haunted estate after the murder of the family patriarch. Once there, the family's three children discover keys that they must protect from an evil being that wants to gain control of them.
If a Locke and Key TV show sounds familiar, that's because Netflix wasn't the show's original destination. Hulu commissioned a pilot for the series, with Lost and Bates Motel alum Carlton Cuse serving as showrunner. While Hulu passed on the project in the end, The Hollywood Reporter says Netflix saw something there.
Now the streamer is in talks to license the rights to Locke and Key itself and redevelop the project, with Cuse and Hill remaining as executive producers. The original pilot will not be used. Instead, the series will be recast and find a new director.
Andy Muschietti, who helmed It: Chapter One, will be unable to return to the project due to his commitments to the horror franchise. He will, however, still be credited as an executive producer on the show.
Locke and Key joins a growing list of non-Marvel comic book adaptations in the works at Netflix. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, an offshoot of The CW's Riverdale, is currently in production. Additionally, the streamer has ordered an adaptation of the supernatural comic Raising Dion, to be executive produced by Michael B. Jordan.
A fearsome new threat is coming very soon to Monster Hunter World. Capcom has announced that the Elder Dragon Lunastra will be added to the co-op action RPG, and she'll arrive alongside a new set of gear and other content in a free update tonight, May 30.
Unlike the recently introduced Kulve Taroth, Lunastra is a returning Elder Dragon, originally appearing in the series' 2006 installment, Monster Hunter 2. Known as "the Empress of Flame," Lunastra is the counterpart of Teostra, and she can fight alongside her mate and "bond" with him to unleash powerful attacks.
"The Empress of Flame returns with new tricks and unique abilities to challenge even the most seasoned hunters," Capcom said in an update on its official blog. "Not only is she more aggressive than her male companion Teostra, but her capacity to alter the environment around her is unmatched."
With Lunastra's arrival, players will be able to craft two new armor sets: Lunastra α and Lunastra β. Players will also be able to forge new weapons and a set of Palico gear using the material they gather from the Elder Dragon. According to Capcom, these materials "seem to be resonating strangely with materials from other monsters," particularly those from Nergigante and Xeno'jiiva. You can take a look at some screenshots of the new armor and weapons below.
Lunastra won't be the only new monster players will be able to encounter in Monster Hunter World. Capcom will also introduce "Arch-Tempered Elder Dragons," which are even more powerful variants of the Tempered Elder Dragons. Capcom says to "stay tuned for more updates on the rise of these cataclysmic threats."
The Lunastra update rolls out for PS4 and Xbox One tonight, May 30, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. You can find the full patch notes for the update on the Monster Hunter World website. In the meantime, players can still participate in the returning Kulve Taroth Siege. That quest will be available in the rotation until the Lunastra update arrives tonight.
As one month ends and another begins, there's plenty of new material for your viewing pleasure on Netflix. The end of May sees the return of a beloved Netflix original series, as well as the arrival of a Pixar gem. Meanwhile, the first couple days of June are a treasure trove of great movies.
The fourth season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt arrived on May 30, making it easily the biggest arrival of the week. Among the guest stars appearing in the new season are Jon Hamm, Busy Philipps, Greg Kinnear, Bobby Moynihan, and Aidy Bryant.
On the film side of things, Coco debuted on the streamer on May 29, while June 1 sees the arrival of Disney's 101 Dalmatians, Rumor Has It, Righteous Kill, National Treasure, and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. Other titles include Miracle, Just Friends, The Departed, and The Covenant--for all of your boy witch movie needs.
Bethesda has officially revealed Fallout 76, the next entry in its beloved RPG franchise. After a day of teases, it announced the game with a brief teaser trailer that gives us some hints at what to expect and its Vault 76 setting. But as Bethesda boss Todd Howard said just before it debuted, this was only meant as a tease--more is coming at E3 2018.
Still, we do know more than you might think after a single viewing. We've gone through the video a number of times and noticed a few noteworthy things. Bethesda has also confirmed the game's platforms, although there's not yet any word on a release date. That said, the company has made a habit of not announcing things far in advance, so it's reasonable to expect the wait won't be terribly long.
More will undoubtedly be revealed during Bethesda's E3 press conference, which happens on June 10. We'll also be hearing more about Rage 2 and whatever other projects the company has in the works--it's already teased that this will be its biggest show ever.
What Platforms Is It On?
Bethesda has confirmed Fallout 76 is being released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Unfortunately, there's no word about a Nintendo Switch release, which didn't seem out of the question after the Skyrim re-release made it to that platform. That could always be coming later, but for the time being, it's only coming to those three platforms.
Who's Developing It?
Bethesda Game Studios, the Maryland-based developer responsible for the Elder Scrolls series and both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, is at work on the game. It's possible other Bethesda studios are also working on the project, but BGS is the only one confirmed in the extremely brief fact sheet shared with the press. Obsidian, developer of the beloved Fallout: New Vegas, had previously suggested it isn't involved with what Bethesda was teasing.
What Is Vault 76?
Given the game's name and what we see in the trailer, Vault 76 is seemingly set to play a major role in the game. Although it's not a place we've visited before, this isn't the series' first mention of it. Both Fallout 3 and 4 reference it and, according to the Fallout Wikia, it was occupied by 500 people who were meant to be a control group. It was intended to be opened 20 years after a nuclear war. A poster seen in the Vault shows its existence was meant to mark the United States' tricentennial in 2076.
When Does It Take Place?
Fallout 76 is at least partially set in the year 2102, based on the date subtly displayed on a Pip-Boy in the trailer. In Fallout lore, the bombs fell in 2077, and the first Fallout game was set in 2161; Fallout 2 in 2241; Fallout 3 in 2277; New Vegas in 2281; and Fallout 4 in 2287. That would mean this game is set far earlier than any previous title, which could offer a different sort of perspective on the world. The specific date on the Pip-Boy is October 27, 2102; that could be pointing to a release date for the game.
What Is Reclamation Day?
One of the most striking shots in the trailer shows the Vault's atrium decorated for something called Reclamation Day. Based on the celebration and imagery, it's likely this is the day the Vault is meant to open and the occupants are meant to begin rebuilding the outside world. What's curious is that the aforementioned dates don't quite match up--if the Vault was supposed to open 20 years after the bombs fell, why have 25 years gone by?
What Song Is Playing?
The trailer begins with the Pip-Boy playing a song--"Country Roads" by John Denver. It talks about going home to West Virginia, which could perhaps serve as the location for the Vault 76 and the game.
The Pokemon Company has announced Pokemon Quest for Nintendo Switch, and it's out now. The spin-off game, which is free to start, features a blocky art style and top-down, real-time action-RPG gameplay in which "face off against wild Pokemon and embark on many exciting expeditions," according to messages from the official Pokemon Twitter account.
Pokemon Quest is set in a new area called Tumblecube Island and includes first-generation Pokemon. In addition to building a party of Pokemon and venturing out into a blocky world, the game lets you decorate and customize a headquarters area, not unlike Secret Bases in Ruby and Sapphire.
The new Pokemon game is developed by main series developer Game Freak, which does not typically work on spin-off Pokemon games. Following the game's launch on Switch, Pokemon Quest will launch on mobile in late June.
This announcement comes alongside other Pokemon news, including the reveal of new RPGs for Switch: Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. Those games, which are based on Pokemon Yellow and are compatible with Pokemon Go, are launching in November. The Pokemon Company also confirmed that the core Pokemon RPG announced during Nintendo's E3 2017 presentation is separate from the Let's Go games and set for a late 2019 release.
Sony has refreshed the weekly slate of video game deals in the PlayStation Store, this time offering discounts on a wide array of digital PS4 games. All of the good discounts this week are strictly for PlayStation Plus members, so if you're not one, you'll want to check out other retailers' sales. But for those with a PS Plus membership, let's dive in and start saving some money.
There are some killer deals in this week's sale, including big savings on lots of recent games. For instance, you can grab the historical RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance for $42 and the crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite for $20. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which just launched in the US last month, is already on sale for $48.
Sports fans can save a bunch of cash on some latest editions. Madden NFL 18 and EA Sports NHL 18 are on sale for $12 each--the lowest price we've seen those games go for. Racing fans can also grab Need for Speed Payback for a smooth $20.
And if you have a PlayStation VR headset lying around, you might as well pick up a few games for it. The zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine is $20 while the murder mystery The Invisible Hours is $15. You can find the full list of games on sale here, or see below for more of our picks for the best deals on the PlayStation Store this week.
If you're in the market for digital Xbox One games, you've come to the right place. We have the full rundown on all the best video game sales live on the Xbox Store this week. You can save money on everything from newer games like Fe to classics like Red Dead Redemption.
The current sale isn't as extensive as some other recent weeks, but a good number of genres are represented. If you're into shooters, you might want to take a look back at one of the most iconic series from the previous generation with BioShock: The Collection, on sale for $20 / £15. Racing fans can get Need for Speed: Ultimate Bundle for $33 / £30. It comes with the core game from 2015, plus all the DLC and expansions. And fans of futuristic sports can rev their engines on the field in Rocket League for $11 / £9. All of Rocket League's DLC packs are on sale as well.
Looking back a little further, the Xbox 360 still has a massive catalog of great games, many of which are backwards compatible on Xbox One. A handful of those games are on sale now, including Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Braid (both half off at $5 / £3). Or, if you want to brush up on Red Dead Redemption before its much-anticipated sequel launches later this year, you can for $10 / £25.
Here are the rest of our picks for the best games on sale at the Xbox Store.
If you follow these sorts of things, you'll know Sony is always happy to put on a sale. This year, between June 8-18, Sony is bringing back the Days of Play sale, a promotion that, according to a blog post, "celebrates the passionate PlayStation community and your endless support by offering epic deals at participating retailers across the US and Canada, while supplies last." You can find details about the European version of the sale here.
What kind of deals are we talking about? On the hardware side, you can get a PS4 Pro for $350--which is $50 off its normal price. PlayStation VR bundles will be available starting at $200. All colors of DualShock 4 wireless controllers will be $40 instead of $60.
As for which retailers will be participating, that has yet to be announced. You can probably expect Sony to get major video game retailers like Best Buy and GameStop on board, but we'll keep you informed as any new information arises.
Additionally, Sony is also introducing a limited-time Days of Play model of the PS4. It's blue and gold, and it comes with a 1TB hard drive and a blue controller. You can pre-order it now from GameStop.

Avengers: Infinity Waris finally here. The arrival of "destiny" as promised by Thanos, after ten long years of waiting and 18 movies, the moment we've been waiting for has come. It brought with it a whole bunch of questions, most importantly: what do we do now? With the movie's post-credits scene, that becomes just a tiny bit more clear.
The end of Infinity War is very literally an end--the actual, genuine annihilation of half the universe at the hands of Thanos, armed with a fully powered Infinity Gauntlet. Not exactly the feel good, heroic, triumphant superhero vibe of Avengers past. Thanos has won, and from where we're sitting, it looks like his victory is absolute.
But all hope isn't lost. Though Infinity War deviates from Marvel's post-credits formula slightly by including only one stinger, rather than what's become the customary two, the movie's final moments give us the briefest glimpse of what's on the horizon.
Here's the scene: Nick Fury and Maria Hill speed through a New York City that is slowly descending into chaos. As Fury notes that something big is happening in Wakanda, he tells Hill to get in touch with someone named Klein, likely this guy from Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron--which may point to more progress in Fury's somewhat forgotten efforts to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D in the wake of its official Hydra-fueled destruction.
But the effects of Thanos's finger-snap are reverberating across the galaxy and, one by one, people are disappearing at random. This means literally anyone--pilots, drivers, pedestrians--vanishing into thin air, no matter what they may have been in the middle of. So naturally, as more and more people crumble, helicopters are crashing, cars are veering off the road--you get the idea. The world is not in a great place, and Fury and Hill are left trying to puzzle through what's happening.
Unfortunately, even their time is limited. As they scramble out of their car, Hill begins to crumble and abruptly vanishes, leaving Fury on his own. He pulls out a device--something that looks almost like a beeper--and dials out just as he himself begins to disintegrate.
As Fury blows away in the wind, the device he was holding clatters to the ground and we're left staring at what we can only assume is the transmission of a distress signal. Though there is no text on the screen to give an official destination, a symbol or logo soon appears--the blue, red and gold emblem associated with none other than Captain Marvel.
We've known for some time that a Captain Marvel movie is coming--set photos of Brie Larson in costume have been filtering in since filming kicked off--but her role in the still unnamed Avengers 4 remains shrouded in mystery, just like the rest of the film. We do know, however, that her solo movie will be released in March of next year (two months prior to the next Avengers, due in May) and be set in the '90s, which leaves her in an interesting position considering Infinity War's very present day ending.
Just how long has Fury known about Captain Marvel? Where has she been all this time? Is the distress signal actually going to Carol Danvers or is it going to someone like, say, her mentor Captain Mar-Vell instead?
Perhaps more importantly: what exactly can Captain Marvel do in the face of a fully powered Infinity Gauntlet?
Carol Danvers traditionally gets her powers from her Kree heritage, making her similar to what we might expect from an Asgardian in the MCU, with a few twists. In the books she has enhanced durability, strength and speed, as well as the ability to fly and shoot energy projectiles from her hands. She also has an abundance of military and tactical training both on Earth and with the Kree army, making her a formidable force both in the heat of battle and in any war room--so it's not that she's incapable, by any means.
But all the training and superpowers in the universe seem dwarfed by the force of the Infinity Stones, even with the Infinity Gauntlet in the damaged state that the movie leaves it in, so it's unlikely that she'll be able to show up on Earth without some sort of back up and expect to make a difference. Luckily, there are a few other cosmic Marvel heroes who have been alluded to in the past who just might be able to lend a hand. We saw the Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy, which paves the way for Nova to get involved, especially if Thanos destroyed the entire Corps when he nabbed the Power Stone from them, which would fit with Nova's origin in the comics. And don't forget Adam Warlock, who was referenced in the Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 post-credits scene.
Bethesda Softworks has made good on its teases by revealing not a remaster or re-release, but an entirely new game from Bethesda Game Studios: Fallout 76. The company revealed a brief teaser video you can watch above, and while many of the specifics remain unknown, it does give us quite a few clues as to what to expect from the new game.
The video shows off the inside of a vault--Vault 76--with some familiar imagery. A character who is wearing a vault jumpsuit equips a Pip-Boy and we see old TV footage informing the occupants that they'll have to rebuild society. There are also decorations for something called Reclamation Day, and a console can be seen showing the date is 2102, which would make this the earliest game set in the Fallout canon. We've broken down everything we know about Fallout 76 here.
Vault 76 is something that's been mentioned in past games, although it's not a location we've been able to visit before. We'll seemingly get to do so in this new game, though in terms of a release date, we're left without any information. Bethesda has confirmed the game will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Just before the trailer was revealed, the stream cut to Bethesda boss Todd Howard expressing astonishment at the huge number of people who had watched what was a relatively mundane stream. He also said this video is meant only as a tease and that more news will be shared at E3.
Bethesda began teasing something on its Twitter account on May 29, when it published an image that reads "Please stand by." That screen bore connections to the Fallout franchises, and that was all but confirmed when the company launched a Twitch livestream. This featured the same image on a TV in the background but with a Fallout Vault Boy figure standing in the foreground. The livestream saw some minor adjustments over the day it was online, including a cupcake being placed.
Fallout 3 was originally released in October 2008, making this year its 10-year anniversary. Among the speculation was that this was all leading to a remaster, presumably for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
This is the second big announcement from Bethesda in recent weeks, following Rage 2, which was initially leaked by Walmart Canada. Bethesda's E3 press conference is set for June 10 and is said to be the company's biggest ever, suggesting that it may have even more to reveal soon.
Epic Games' wildly successful Fortnite: Battle Royale continues to evolve, and now it's introduced even more big changes. Battle Royale has gotten its first vehicle, the Shopping Cart, which comes as part of the broader 4.3 update, which is out now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile.
According to Epic, the Shopping Cart allows you to "ride solo or grab a friend to cover you as you roll around the map together." The company says you can shoot from the passenger seat--but presumably not if you're the one pushing the cart. The trolleys are found scattered around the world in various locations, and they can take fall damage.
Another new element in this update are Mushrooms. These can be found in shady wooded or swampy areas, and by consuming them, you'll gain 5 shield. These can take you all the way up to to the maximum of 100.
The new update also reintroduces two limited-time modes, Blitz and Teams of 20. Blitz matches play out much quicker than standard Battle Royales, and this time round the mode is even faster. It also includes all the new items and weapons that have been added to Fortnite since Blitz was first seen, such as the Port-a-Fort, Clinger, and LMG.
Teams of 20, meanwhile, sees five teams of 20 players each face off against each other. This time round, each team will have their own bus to make dropping together easier, while chests and supply drops will each provide more ammo and consumables than they did before.
Save the World, meanwhile, sees its Blockbuster event return with Part 2: A Hero is Born. This second portion of the event will have you reunite with Ray and join the effort to save Spitfire, while new Daily Quests and more have been added. Take a look at the full patch notes below, via Epic Games.
Fortnite Update 4.3 Patch Notes
General
Turbo Build: Structures now build faster after the first building piece is placed.
Your first structure is built 0.15 seconds after holding the button (unchanged), any additional structures built while Turbo Building are placed after 0.05 seconds.
This fixes the issue that was occasionally causing a structure not to place when quickly building.
The reason there's a difference in timing between the first structure placed (0.15s) and Turbo Built structures (0.05s) is to allow additional time for players to switch structure type or rotate pieces.
Added a toggle for 'Edit Mode Aim Assist' ingame options.
This has always been enabled for controller users. You now have the option to enable or disable this feature.
Edit Mode Aim Assist attracts your aim towards the closest building square and partially confines your crosshair to the building piece your editing.
Save the World and Battle Royale now have their own unique loading screens following mode select.

Fixed issues while aiming diagonally when using a controller.
The stick input was not correctly translating into camera rotation causing the camera to never reach its maximum turn rate when aiming diagonally.
Camera input curves have also been slightly tuned to account for the change in diagonal aiming speeds.
Fixed player movement corrections upon landing from a jump after activating sprint mid-air.
Fixed a crash that could happen when logging out.
Fixed an issue that caused black line streaks to appear on other players far off in the distance.

Sonic will return to consoles with a new team-based racing game that promises fast-paced arcade-style gameplay and lots of chances to play with friends. Team Sonic Racing is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and while there's no official release date yet, Sega says fans can expect it this winter.
The racing game will feature 15 playable characters, all from the Sonic universe (unlike Sega's last Sonic racing game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which featured characters from other game franchises as well). Each of the characters will fit into one of three types: Speed, Technique, or Power, and you'll face off against your competitors in solo, co-op, and competitive racing modes. The game will also feature many vehicle options, which let you change the appearance and handling of your vehicle with performance customizations and skins.
The game will put a heavy focus on online and local co-op multiplayer (through 4-player split-screen); up to 12 players can compete in several game types like Grand Prix Mode, Exhibition Mode, Time-Trial, and Team Adventure Mode. All of the modes are structured around team-play; players are tasked with assisting their teammates and knocking out opponents to "unleash your Team Ultimate," with 14 offensive and defensive items to help along the way.
Physical pre-orders of Team Sonic Racing are now live on the game's website for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. There won't be a physical version of the game for PC, but digital pre-orders for all four platforms will be available at a later date. We'll likely get more details at E3 2018, and for the latest news and updates on the game follow GameSpot's coverage of Team Sonic Racing.
For anyone wondering when we'll get to return to the wasteland after 2015's Fallout 4, Bethesda has answered that question with a teaser trailer for the next entry: Fallout 76. The game has been confirmed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will appear in Bethesda's presentation at E3 2018, which is scheduled for June 10 at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET. While we don't have a release date yet or many other details besides what's shown in the cryptic, cinematic teaser above, we can make a few guesses.
The game seems to be based in or around Vault 76, in the year 2102. If so, that would make it the earliest game in the Fallout series (for reference, the bombs fell in 2077). The teaser shows a character in a vault jumpsuit strap on a Pip-Boy while TV footage tells occupants they'll need to rebuild society. That could be a hint that Fallout 76 will put more of a focus on the base-building elements introduced in Fallout 4. For more information, check out our article about everything we know about Fallout 76.
Whether you're a diehard fan of the series or you want to see what all the hype is about, you might be ready to lock in your Fallout 76 pre-order. If so, we have all the information you need below.
No pre-order bonus
Bethesda hasn't announced any pre-order bonuses so far for Fallout 76. Pre-orders of big games from major studios like this often come with a little something extra, so some kind of bonus could be announced in the future. If it is, we'll add it here.
Standard Edition
Suggested retail price: $60
The standard edition of Fallout 76 is the only one that's been announced so far. As such, it's the only one that's available to pre-order. If other editions are announced, we'll add them as retailers put them on their sites.
Amazon: $60 ($48 with Amazon Prime) -- PS4 | Xbox One | PC
Best Buy: $60 (with $10 reward) -- PS4 | Xbox One | PC
The next DC comics Lego game will have you join the evil side. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have announced Lego DC Super-Villains, which will put you in the brick-shoes of your own created villain character on an adventure surrounded by notable ne'er-do-wells. It will release on October 16, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
The story makes your team of bad-guys into not-so-bad guys. After the Justice League vanishes, a parallel universe "Justice Syndicate" takes over. The Legion of Doom super-villain squad discovers they may not be as super or heroic as they claim, so the villains join to defeat the Syndicate. Your created character will both team up with iconic villains and become stronger by unlocking new abilities and customization options. Of course, as a Lego game, it also supports two-player local co-op.
The deluxe edition will include a season pass and early access to the TV Series DLC Character Pack. The physical deluxe will also include a Lex Luthor Superman minifigure, while the digital deluxe edition will get the Justice League Dark DLC Character Pack. You can check out the official site for more details.
Though it was previously renewed for a second season, the Roseanne revival has officially been canceled. The move to end the show comes after star and co-creator Roseanne Barr tweeted comments that compared former President Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett to an ape. "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj," she wrote.
Though Barr apologized for the racist outburst, it was too late. In a short statement, ABC President Channing Dungey announced, "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show." Robert Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney company, echoed Dungey's statement in a tweet. "There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing," he wrote.
The cancellation came after fallout from within the show's creative team over Barr's tweet. Comedian Wanda Sykes, who served as a consulting producer during Season 1, announced she would not return to the series. Meanwhile, executive producer and co-star Sara Gilbert condemned her TV mom's comments.
"Roseanne's recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least," she wrote on Twitter. "This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we've created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love--one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member."

This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we've created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.
Previously, co-showrunner Whitney Cummings announced she was leaving the show due to her stand-up comedy touring schedule and work commitments. Barr has yet to respond to the show's cancellation. The second season of the series was originally scheduled to return in the fall for 13 episodes. The first season was a smash hit for ABC in the ratings, where it ended the season as the number one scripted series on broadcast TV--topping NBC's This Is Us and The Big Bang Theory on CBS.
Avengers: Infinity War is still doing big business at the box office, but there's another Marvel movie right around the corner. Ant-Man and The Wasp is the sequel to 2015's Ant-Man and sees Paul Rudd's Scott Lang team up with Evangeline Lily's Hope van Dyne (aka The Wasp) to fight a mysterious villain known as The Ghost. A new TV spot has now been released.
This latest promo contains a variety of action-packed shots and is structured around the three-point plan that Lang has drawn up to stop The Ghost. Well, four points technically, the last one being "save the world." Check it out above.
Ant-Man and The Wasp also stars Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michael Peña (The Martian, Fury) is back as Lang's criminal pal Luis. New cast members include Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Randall Park (The Interview, Trainwreck) as SHIELD agent Jimmy Woo. It's directed by Peyton Reed, who helmed the first movie.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Reed spoke about the relationship between the two title characters. "The movie is absolutely about Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, and Hope becoming Wasp," he said. "At the beginning of our movie their relationship has some distance in it, and their relationship is a little fractured. It really is about whether these two people can come together and work together as heroes, and also as people.
"I think for Hope particularly, the question is out there: 'Do I need this guy in my life? I'm a fully formed hero in my own right, do I need a partner?' That was really a fun kind of premise to start from."
The movie hits theaters on July 6 in the US, with the UK release set for August 3. Check out the previous Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer here.
When GLOW returns to Netflix for Season 2, it will bring with it many surprises as the ragtag group of female wrestlers works to make their TV dreams a reality. Along the way, they'll run into some interesting faces--including one that should be very familiar to longtime WWE fans.
Chavo Guerrero Jr., a former WWE Tag Team, WWE Cruiserweight, and ECW Champion, will appear in the second season, though it's far from his first exposure to the series. After serving as a fight coordinator and wrestling trainer to the cast in Season 1--a role he reprises this year--Guerrero is also getting the chance to mix it up in the ring with some of GLOW's cast on-camera in Season 2.
"Chavo is on the show this year, and he wrestles with some of the women," star Alison Brie says in a group interview. "So that was very exciting to witness." She continues, "He stayed in character the whole time, super weird. We were like, 'Chavo, are we going to stretch before the match?' And he was like, 'F**k you, I'll see you in the ring.'"
If he's getting in the ring to wrestle women, it sounds like Guerrero will be modeled after Andy Kaufman's intergender wrestling gimmick from the 1970s. It's an act similar to what independent wrestler Joey Ryan does today.
For the cast, it was a special moment. After being shown the literal ropes by Guerrero, he was stepping into their domain--acting. "It's so exciting to watch someone we love shine," Jackie Tohn, who plays Melrose, explains. "In the same way, I love watching these girls. It's like, wait a sec, we can now get to watch Chavo, who by the way has basically raised us. Now he gets his moment to not be behind the scenes, it's really nice."
With Guerrero stepping into the show as a male wrestler that fights women, Brittany Young (Carmen "Machu Picchu" Wade) relished the opportunity to tangle with her trainer. "Well I know in my scene with him, without giving too much away, I literally was talking trash to him as Carmen, but deep down inside I was like, 'This is Britney vs. Chavo,' and after every take, he'd be like, 'Yes, do that one more time, because I've got a great comeback now,'" she remembers. "So, just like throwing things at him and seeing him react, for us it's a family, and to see uncle Chavo get into the show, we were all ecstatic."
Of course, with Guerrero going full-'80s wrestler, he had to have the ring attire to match, and GLOW made sure he left an impression with his wrestling trunks. "They're like little speedos-shaped [shorts] and there's this embroidered monkey right on the ass cheek. What a delight," Tohn jokes.
You'll be able to get a full look at Chavo when Season 2 of GLOW premieres Friday, June 29, on Netflix.
Though Solo: A Star Wars Story tells the origin of the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy, and in doing so fills in a lot of the blanks in Han Solo's past, the movie is also loaded with other connections to the larger Star Wars universe. If you've yet to see Solo, consider this a spoiler warning. You should stop reading now.
Whether it's references to other characters and planets, or the cameo by Warwick Davis reprising his role from Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, there's so much for Star Wars fans of all ages to enjoy about Solo. However, there is one particular character appearance that might have really caught audiences by surprise.
After the death of Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany), Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) makes contact with his superior to inform the mysterious figure that she will be taking Vos's place in the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate. That superior is none other than Darth Maul, making his first big screen appearance since The Phantom Menace in 1999.
If you're a Star Wars fan who sticks to watching only the movies, Maul's presence might be a bit confusing. During the climax of Episode 1, the Sith was cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi's blade and fell down a shaft, presumably leaving him dead. In the end, though, it's simple. Rumors of Darth Maul's death have been greatly exaggerated. While being cut in half would kill most, that just doesn't seem to be the case for Maul.
For fans of the Star Wars animated series, this isn't news. Maul has played a major role in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, which expand on his story, taking it all the way to his actual death before A New Hope. What's more, while Ray Park reprises his role as the physical premise of Maul, he's voiced by Sam Witwer, the voice actor behind Maul in the animated series and Star Wars: Battlefront II.
The Clone Wars and Rebels have become integral pieces of Star Wars canon thanks to the standalone movies thus far. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Forest Whitaker plays Saw Gerrerra, a character first introduced in The Clone Wars. What's more, he then went on to voice Saw in Rebels. Additionally, Chopper, a droid from Rebels, made a brief appearance in the background of a scene in Rogue One, as did the Ghost ship that the Rebels crew inhabits. Interestingly enough, Han references the VCX-100 ship model while gambling with Lando, which is the line the Ghost belongs to.
The inclusion of Maul in Solo, however, is the next evolution of Star Wars incorporating its animated universe into the movies, and it's the perfect example of a bridge between the two. With a galaxy full of stories to tell and only so many movies each year, using other mediums to populate the franchise with character backgrounds to enrich plots is exciting.
While introducing a secondary character from The Clone Wars, like Saw, is a welcome addition, Maul is a well-known piece of the Star Wars universe that is immediately recognizable to practically any fan. Revealing that he's not only alive but has mechanical legs immediately places him within the animated continuity for fans of the shows. However, it also invites fans unfamiliar with that side of the franchise to explore his story arcs on both The Clone Wars and Rebels--including his continued battles with Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Jedi. From there, Maul has even more of his story told in canonical comic books.
This idea of expanding continuity across multiple mediums seems simple enough, especially when you have an audience constantly craving more. Still, there is another franchise that includes both movies and TV that just can't seem to get the hang of it--even though they're owned by the same parent company as Star Wars. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, when it first launched Agents of SHIELD, left fans believing the two sides would interact with each other fairly regularly. That's never been the case, though. While SHIELD reacts to things that happen in the films now and then, the movies never acknowledge the show. What's more, the TV side of the universe has become too fragmented between ABC, Netflix, and Hulu, where the shows don't even manage to reference each other.
Meanwhile, Star Wars is only continuing to make that bond stronger by showing what happens on the small screen is important to the rest of the story. Speaking to GameSpot, even Solo co-writer Jonathan Kasdan recognized the importance of The Clone Wars and Rebels when it came to featuring Maul in the film. "I did my homework to know that, because of Rebels, because of Clone Wars, we were in a position where this part of his life was grey enough that we could fill it in with this thing," he explained. "And it worked nicely with Rebels and Clone Wars in that he did survive that incident with Qui-Gon, and he did go into the world of crime and self-interest and was separated from the Empire and the Sith and that whole thing, to go pursue his own life."
Now, as the Star Wars franchise continues, the links between the two sides of this galaxy will only grow stronger. With Rebels finished, its co-creator is already at work on his next project. The animated Star Wars: Resistance is set before The Force Awakens and will focus on a new Resistance pilot named Kazuda Xiono. It will also feature appearances by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and BB-8. Beyond that, Jon Favreau is developing a live-action TV series set seven years after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and introducing yet more new characters to the franchise.
The force is clearly strong with the Star Wars franchise. Hopefully, that's a trend that continues as Lucasfilm continues to make movies and TV shows that further expand upon this unique universe. Now if only they were easier to stream. While The Clone Wars is waiting for you to binge on Netflix right now, the same cannot be said for Rebels. However, you can purchase it digitally or on Blu-ray.
Fortnite's 4.3 update has arrived, and along with introducing a new batch of content, it marks the start of a new limited-time mode in Battle Royale. This time, players have two special modes to choose from, Blitz v2 and Teams of 20 v2, both of which are now underway on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS.
As their names imply, both events are new iterations of modes that have previously appeared in Fortnite, and they feature a handful of changes since the last time they were available. As before, Blitz v2 is a shorter match type, lasting a maximum of 15 minutes. Each round begins with the storm circle already closing in on the island, and the wait time between subsequent storms has been significantly shortened.
For this iteration of Blitz, Epic has implemented all of the new weapons and items that have been introduced since the mode first ran back in March, including the Port-a-fort, Clinger, and the LMG. Additionally, the battle bus flies in at a lower altitude at the start of the match, letting players jump into the fray much more quickly.
Teams of 20, meanwhile, divides players into five teams of 20 and pits them against each other in a fight to be the last team standing. This time, each team flies in on their own battle bus, which makes it easier to drop onto the island together. Chests and Supply Drops also spawn extra consumables and ammo, and the latter now come in batches of five. Epic has also decreased the number of storm circles in the mode from nine to six; as a result, Epic says "most" matches will end within 20 minutes.
Epic hasn't announced how long Blitz v2 and Teams of 20 v2 will be available in the rotation, but previous limited-time modes in Fortnite have typically run for about a week. You can read further details about each in the patch notes on the official Fortnite website.
On top of the aforementioned limited-time modes, Fortnite's 4.3 update introduced shopping carts, a new vehicle that allows players to "ride solo or grab a friend to cover you as you roll around the map together." It also implemented a challenge progress notification system, which informs players as they complete challenge objectives. In a change from recent weeks, the next set of weekly challenges are now slated to arrive on Thursday, May 31.
With the first Tuesday of June approaching, Sony has confirmed the lineup of free games that PlayStation Plus owners will be able to download during the month. June 2018 brings another set of six games spread across PS4, PS3, and Vita.
This is an unusual month where each platform gets only the standard two games apiece, as there isn't Cross-Buy support for any of them. On PS4, the lineup is still quite good--the biggest title of the month is the stellar tactics game XCOM 2. That's complemented by the fun platformer/racing game hybrid Trials Fusion, which has a theme song that will never leave your brain.
On PS3, the first game is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which blends the series' realistic shooting action with futuristic tech. The older console also gets the Complete Edition of Zombie Driver HD, an isometric action game where you'll drive around a car slaughtering zombies.
Finally, Sony's handheld gets Atomic Ninjas, a multiplayer-centric action game, and Squares, a puzzle game where you'll race the clock to change the color of, well, squares.
All of these games will be available beginning on Tuesday, June 5. It's not too late to still claim May's free PS Plus games; those include Beyond: Two Souls and Rayman Legends on PS4, which received a total of three games thanks to Cross-Buy. Those games will be replaced on Tuesday by June's lineup.
The Pokemon Company has confirmed that the core Pokemon RPG for Nintendo Switch, which was announced during Nintendo's E3 2017 presentation, is set to release in the latter half of 2019. This comes alongside the announcement of Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee as well as Pokemon Quest.
The timing was confirmed in a Tweet from the Pokemon company that read, "With #PokemonQuest and #PokemonLetsGo, there are so many new ways to explore the world of Pokémon! Trainers can look forward to even more with an all-new core series Pokémon RPG title in development for the second half of 2019!"
The Switch Pokemon game was teased by Pokemon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, who said at the time that the game may not release for over a year. He also said that series developer Game Freak would be making the game. No other details were given then or in the year following.
Recently, rumors about the upcoming Pokemon Switch game have been circulating. However, many of them--including that the game would be integrated with Pokemon Go, as well as the leaked title art--turned out to be for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, which are separate games.
The Pokemon invasion of your Nintendo Switch has begun. The "free to start" RPG Pokemon Quest is already available, and a new core Pokemon game is heading our way in late 2019. But the lovable critters aren't done with Switch yet. Coming November 16, 2018 are Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, a pair of games designed for newcomers to the franchise and for players who got their start with the mobile game Pokemon Go.
Developed by Game Freak, the makers of the core Pokemon titles, these Let's Go games share some DNA with Pokemon Go. Instead of battling the monsters to catch them, you'll collect them by tossing Poke Balls at them. You can even transfer Pokemon from Go to Let's Go via Bluetooth. We also know that the first 150 Pokemon as well as their Alolan forms from Sun and Moon would appear in the Let's Go titles.
We have a lot more information about these games in our article Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee: Everything We Know So Far, so check that out to satisfy your curiosity. But if you're ready to lock in your pre-order for one (or both) of these games, you'll probably want to know where to find them, how much they'll cost, and what--if any--extra goodies you can expect to come with them. We have you covered below.
No pre-order bonus
As yet, neither the Pokemon Company, Nintendo, or any retailer has announced any kind of pre-order bonuses for Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu. and Eevee. We'll update the article if that changes at any point down the line.
With the 2018 FIFA World Cup just around the corner and soccer/football fever gripping the globe, you're probably hungry for anything related to the huge sports tournament. Luckily, FIFA 18's free World Cup update is available now, adding some new officially licensed teams and modes, as well as new Ultimate Team content.
The expansion adds all 12 of the tournament's Russian stadiums, all 32 licensed teams--as well as a further 17 who didn't qualify, such as the USA, Netherlands, and Italy--and the official broadcast branding for scoreboards, replay graphics, and more.
In terms of modes, the World Cup section of FIFA 18 allows you to play through the entire finals tournament, playing as one team in a similar manner to the base game's Career Mode. There's also a Custom World Cup mode, which allows you to change, for example, the teams involved--helpful if you're a fan of one of those teams that didn't manage to qualify. PS4, Xbox One, and PC players can also play Online Tournaments and Online Friendlies within the World Cup mode, though these are not available in the Nintendo Switch version.
Finally, Ultimate Team will be adding four new Icon cards--Gary Lineker, Bobby Moore, Miroslav Klose, and Hidetoshi Nakata--and updating all its World Cup cards every day of the tournament with true-to-life player form. EA will also be running limited time SBCs and more to celebrate the world's celebration of soccer.
Being an expansion, the update is built upon the core of the FIFA 18 base game. We awarded that game a 7/10 in our FIFA 18 review. "It's off the pitch that EA excels," we said. "From the variety of game modes on offer and how everything's presented, to the constant updates in FUT's Team of the Week, Daily Objectives, and discussion of real-world happenings in commentary, FIFA 18 captures the world of football and confidently translates it into a video game. On the pitch, however, EA's soccer series is still lagging far behind PES 2018's more fluid, satisfying football. This year's improvements are welcome, but more needs to be done in the coming years if FIFA is to be a world-beater once again."
June is right around the corner, which means a new selection of free Games with Gold will soon be available for Xbox Live Gold members. That makes this week your last opportunity to grab May's free titles for Xbox One and Xbox 360 before they return to their regular prices.
On Xbox One, Gold members can still download two free games: Super Mega Baseball 2 and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The former will only be available until May 31, while the latter will be up for grabs through the first half of June, giving you a bit of time to download the critically acclaimed stealth game if you haven't yet.
On the 360 side, Platinum Games' cult favorite shooter, Vanquish, is free to download until May 31. Like other 360 titles offered through the Games with Gold program, Vanquish is also backwards compatible with Microsoft's newer console, giving Xbox One owners three potential freebies to grab right now.
You can see the full list of May's free Games with Gold below. They'll be replaced by a new lineup of freebies for Gold members on June 1. On the Xbox One side, the Assassin's Creed spin-off, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia, will be free to download for the entire month, while Sega's Xbox 360 racer, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, will be available until June 15.
Two more freebies will follow partway through the month. Beginning June 16, Xbox One owners will be able to grab the Smite Gold Bundle, which includes gods, skins, and other extra content for the free-to-play game. 360 owners, meanwhile, will be able to download Lego Indiana Jones 2: The New Adventures, which will also be backwards compatible with Xbox One. You can see June's free Games with Gold here.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' tropical map, Sanhok, is returning for one more stint on the Experimental Test Server before it finally launches. The next Sanhok test takes place this weekend, and as before, it's available to everyone who owns PUBG on PC.
Developer PUBG Corp. announced the new round of testing in a post on Steam and said the upcoming beta will likely be the final one it holds before it implements Sanhok in the live game. "If everything goes according to schedule, Sanhok will come to live servers near the end of June," the studio wrote.
The test kicks off on May 31 and runs into the early hours of June 4; you can find the exact schedule at the bottom of this story. Like the previous Sanhok test, everyone who has purchased PUBG on Steam will be able to participate. To jump in, you'll need to download the Experimental Server client from your Steam library.
This marks the fourth round of testing PUBG Corp. will be holding for Sanhok, which was originally known as Codename: Savage. It has undergone some notable changes since the first test; its recent incarnation featured four new areas, while several existing areas received received new names and "various improvements."
Once it finally arrives in the live game, PUBG Corp. plans to introduce exclusive vehicles and a weapon for Sanhok "sometime in the month after the map officially launches." One of these will be a three-wheeled vehicle called the Tukshai. You can read more about the developer's plans for future PUBG updates on Steam.
Xbox One's steadily expanding library of backwards compatible games continues to grow. Major Nelson announced on Twitter that three more Xbox 360 titles are now playable on Microsoft's current-gen console, including two more installments from the Saints Row series.
Both the original Saints Row and the 360 version of Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell are now backwards compatible with Xbox One. That makes three Saints Row games to receive backwards compatibility support this month, following the addition of Saints Row II at the beginning of May. Rounding out the new BC games is the tabletop racer Toybox Turbos.
As always, if you own a physical copy of any of the aforementioned games, you can now pop it into your Xbox One to initiate a download and begin playing. Alternately, if you own any of the games digitally, you'll find them waiting automatically in the Ready to Download section of the My Games and Apps menu.
If you're interested in playing any of the new BC games but don't happen to own the 360 versions, you can also purchase them digitally from the Xbox Store. Saints Row and Toybox Turbos are available for $10 / £9 each, while Gat Out of Hell runs for $15 / £12.
Since it was first implemented back in 2015, backwards compatibility has been a very popular feature among Xbox One owners. Microsoft recently revealed that players have collectively logged nearly 1 billion hours playing backwards compatible games on Xbox One. You can see a full list of all the backwards compatibility games here.
After being renamed earlier this year, the Ataribox--now known as the Atari VCS--is available for pre-order. This is happening not through traditional orders, however, but instead an Indiegogo campaign that has very quickly blown past its target goal.
There are a variety of purchase options available; the basic system with no controller is $249, although there are discounted early bird options (as low as $200) for those who pledge now. There are joystick and gamepad bundles also available, while both of those controllers are available on their own for $29 and $49, respectively. Additionally, you can opt for a collector's edition of the system itself that features a front panel made of real wood for a classic Atari look.
The campaign's $100,000 goal was "flexible," meaning it didn't have to be met for the company to receive the money. But that looks as if that won't be a problem, as the campaign blew past the goal within minutes, even crashing the Indiegogo website. It remains difficult to access as of this writing but has topped $500,000 in about 30 minutes.
The campaign page--provided you can reach it--outlines what to expect from the VCS, although many questions remain. We know it comes pre-loaded with over 100 classic Atari games (either based on the arcade or 2600 versions), such as Centipede, Asteroids, and Breakout. But it will also play newer games, though just what modern titles will be available and how they'll work is something we don't know a lot about at this point. Thanks to Linux support, Atari says you'll be able to load the system with custom software and easily use a variety of PC controllers and peripherals.
This Indiegogo campaign finally launches after a previous delay and will see the first VCS units ship in mid-2019.
The Pokemon Company has revealed a new controller for Nintendo Switch. The Poke Ball Plus works much like a Joy-Con, with an analog stick in the center of the Poke Ball. The controller will launch alongside (but be sold separately from) Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee on November 16.
The Poke Ball Plus uses motion controls, meaning you can "throw" it to toss Poke Balls at wild Pokemon in the Let's Go games. It lights up, vibrates, and plays sounds, though it's not clear if it has all the functions of a Joy-Con. It's also compatible with Pokemon Go and can take the place of the Pokemon Go Plus. Finally, you can "store" a Pokemon from the Let's Go games inside the Poke Ball Plus and get rewards for taking it with you, similar to the Pokewalker from HeartGold and SoulSilver.
In addition to the Poke Ball Plus, The Pokemon Company has announced Pokemon Quest, a spin-off game that is out now on Nintendo Switch. The company also confirmed that the Switch Pokemon game teased during Nintendo's E3 2017 press conference is set to release in the latter half of 2019.
