Friday the 13th: The Game is brimming with references and Easter eggs calling back to the long-running slasher film franchise. From its various Jason iterations to its recreation of iconic kills, there's a plethora of details in the game that hardcore fans of the film series will recognize. With so many details to discover, we've compiled nine of the coolest Easter eggs found in the game. The game is a 1v7 asymmetric multiplayer game that pits seven camp counselors against one person playing as masked killer Jason Voorhees. There are six versions of Jason you can play as in the game that are lifted straight out of the movies. You can choose from Jason in Friday the 13th Part II, Part III, Part VI: Jason Lives, Part VII: The New Blood, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, and Jason Goes To Hell. There's also a seventh version of Jason designed exclusively for the game by Tom Savini, an award-winning special makeup effects that worked on the franchise. Red Doors And Yellow Raincoats
In the original Friday the 13th, director Sean Cunningham shot many of its scenes in the dark to maintain a feeling of suspense. But in order to highlight important details, brightly colored items like wooden doors painted red and yellow raincoats were used to help the audience identify characters and details in the environment. These aesthetic touches remain intact in the game's environments and objects. Head Punch Execution
One of the game's executions involves Jason punching off a counselor's head. This is a kill taken straight from the rooftop murder scene in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Sleeping Bag Kill
When you hide in a tent, it's possible for Jason to drag you out in your sleeping back and smash you against a tree. This is exactly how Judy was murdered in Friday the 13th: The New Blood. Maps Are All Based On Movie Locations
All of the game's maps are based on famous locations from the various films. The Camp Crystal Lake map is made up of a few areas from Friday the 13th parts one through six. The fictional summer camp, located in New Jersey, is the home of Jason Voorhees. It was once a thriving summer camp, but a series of brutal murders eventually turned it into a cursed place infamous for massacres and supernatural occurrences. The Packanack Lodge map is inspired by the same location in Friday the 13th Part II. This group of rustic cabins is located in the woods near Crystal Lake. It's known as the site of Jason's first murders in 1984, where he killed nearly an entire training class of summer camp counselors. The Higgins Haven map is a location from Friday the 13th Part III and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. It was the property of Chris Higgins and his family, which was located on the shore of Crystal Lake. It's where the second stage of the Crystal Lake Massacre took place. Jason's Mother's Head Shrine
At the end of every match that Jason wins, you see his shrine to his mother, Pamela Voorhees. The head was first seen inside Jason's shack in Friday the 13th Part II; it contains Pamela's head, the sweater she wore when she was killed, and the machete used to kill her. Jason's First-Person Mode Ability
Jason's teleportation ability is a reference to the chase scene in the woods in Friday the 13th. In that scene, the killer in the film suddenly appears before his victim despite being further behind in another shot. Bear Traps
As a counselor, you can use bear traps to slow down Jason. The inclusion of this item is perhaps a subtle nod to the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th. In that film, a counselor named Richie gets his leg stuck in bear trap set by Jason before he inevitably meets his end at the hands of Jason's machete. Tommy Jarvis Is Playable
If you use the radio in the game, a player respawns as Tommy Jarvis from the movies. Tommy was the male protagonist in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, A New Beginning, and Part VI: Jason Lives. He lived at Crystal Lake with his sister and mother, who was murdered by Jason. Tommy is primarily known as the first person to defeat Jason by stabbing him with his own machete.
