Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition is in the works for iPhone and iPad, Capcom announced today.
Capcom has released a few Street Fighter games for mobile in the past, including Street Fighter II, Street Fighter IV, and Street Fighter IV: Bolt. Champion Edition is an improved version of the original Street Fighter IV port, boasting improved visuals, three new characters, and support for more recent, wider-screen devices.
Champion Edition adds Poison, Ibuki, and Dundley to the roster of characters, bringing the total up to 25. Players can fight against AI or online via Wi-Fi. The game is controlled with a four-button virtual pad on screen, which "allows players to execute moves through multiple key combinations and shortcuts," according to Capcom. The game will also support external controllers and gamepads.
Champion Edition launches this summer, although Capcom has yet to give a firm release date. There's no word on a price yet, either, but Street Fighter IV currently costs $4 on the iOS App Store. You can pre-register for news about the release of the game here.
Even before the action sequel John Wick: Chapter 2 had hit theaters, director Chad Stahelski was talking about his plans to make a third movie in the action series. Stahelski has now revealed that it could be here sooner than expected.
In an interview with Collider, Stahelski said: "We're currently in the middle of writing it right now," and went onto explain that the movie was very close to being greenlit by producers Lionsgate.
"It's more [about] how fast can we get our s**t together," he continued. "But I would assume that if not by the end of this year, the beginning of next year."
Stahelski also hinted at what fans could expect from John Wick 3 in terms of the movie's scale."We want, not so much to go bigger on the third one, but to show you more of the intricacies of the world," he said. "I feel like there are all these different subtleties that I skipped over in part 2, that I'd like to go back to [with part 3] and show you the inner workings of different parts of New York.
"So rather than massive set pieces, I'd like to show you cooler and more intricate ones… I think it would be a mistake budget-wise and creatively to just go big and blow up a freeway. That's not our gig. That's a comic book or a Bond gig. We want to show you cool and intricate details. What are those little details in everyday life? Hopefully we make people look at garbage collectors and cleaner vans and homeless people a little differently now."
There has also been talk of a John Wick TV show. In February, Stahelski said: "Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity. I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film.
"We'd like to wrap up the story we're telling now and maybe save all our prequel ideas and impossible task ideas for that medium."
Although there's not been a mainline Halo game on PC since Halo 2, PC players still have something Halo-related to look forward to. Installation 01 is a fan-made tribute to the Halo series, and the developers just released a cool new cinematic trailer.
The video is essentially a tribute to Halo multiplayer with some flourishes thrown in. It gives a sense of the player models, environments, and gear that you can expect from Installation 01. The creators have clearly taken time to make sure that the Spartans and Elites look like you remember them. They seem to be based primarily off of Halo 3 models, and Halo 3-specific weapons like the detachable turret and the spike grenade appear. You can check out the video below.
There's no word yet on when Installation 01 will be playable to a wide audience. However, if the website is any indication, the team has high ambitions: there are pages for in-game stat tracking and file sharing, and gameplay video from last year shows that they are shooting to make as realistic of a Halo experience as possible.
Installation 01 will launch for PC across Mac, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
If you've been waiting for news from the official Halo series, you'll have to wait a bit longer: developer 343 Industries is not planning to show Halo 6 at E3 2017. However, it will have "a little something" to share.
If you're an Xbox One player in the mood for a 'last man standing' style fight to the death, you won't have to wait long. The Culling is coming to Xbox One's early access-esque Game Preview program. You can check out the new trailer above.
Developer Xaviant says the game captures "the spirit of the battle royale experience" brought to life in films like The Hunger Games, Battle Royale, and The Running Man. It was released on PC last year and is still in Early Access on Steam, but now Xbox players will have the chance to be dropped into a game show where they and their fellow contestants must "scavenge, hunt, trap, and kill each other." There are no respawns in the game, but there is a Duos mode where you can team up with a friend.
The Culling will be released June 2 on Xbox One Game Preview. The game is still in development, and Xaviant says it will be monitoring players' feedback and tweaking the game based on that. There's no date or price yet for the full Xbox release. The PC version goes for $25.
The Xbox One version of The Culling will also feature "over a thousand unlockable customization items, game show-themed match events, a robust crafting system, multiple maps, and much more," says Xaviant. There will also be offline training matches and survival modes, along with player perks and personal airdrops.
Capcom has announced its next major Street Fighter 5 update will arrive on May 30, bringing with it a new features, a character, and a stage to battle it out on.
The new stage is Flamenco Tavern, which is in Spain. As fans of the series will notice, it's inspired by Vega's stage from Street Fighter 2. As in its previous version, Vega players will be able to leap onto the steel fence, climb around it, and then launch themselves at their enemies. Flamenco Tavern will be available for $4/€4 or 70,000 Fight Money.
The Thailand stage that was released and then pulled due to unintentional inclusion of religious references in its music, has been reintroduced. The new version, which has an alternative theme, is available for $4/€4 or 70,000 Fight Money
Looking for something new to play? Amazon Prime members can now pick up another free PC game for a limited time.
The latest freebie is Deponia, which you can grab right now at this page on Twitch to add the game to your account from today through May 31. Then open the Twitch desktop app (or download it here if you don't already have it) and you'll be able to download and play the game with no restrictions.
Released in 2012, Deponia is a point-and-click adventure game that GameSpot scored an 8/10. The game was developed by Daedalic Entertainment.
"This is one of the best traditional point-and-click games out there--it oozes charm, keeps the puzzles sensible, and boasts a story that makes you laugh and warms your heart," review Mark Walton said.
With its May 26 release date nearly upon us, reviews have started to go live for Tequila's long-awaited puzzle game. In our review, we said "Rime's artistry is unquestionable," but "constant navigation problems, some frustrating puzzles, fiddly platforming, and severe frame rate dips make Rime feel like a well-dressed tribute act." Check out our full Rime review for more.

Release: May 26 (for PS4, Xbox One, PC; "shortly afterward" for Switch)
Price: US $30 / £25 / AU $60
GameSpot -- 6/10
"Rime's artistry is unquestionable. Each world is enchanting in its own way, from the naturalistic peace of the first to the abstract doom of the last. Its soundtrack is similarly beautiful, capable of evoking wonder, tension, and fear in equal measure. But when compared to its influences like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Journey, it doesn't hold up too well. Consistent navigation problems, some frustrating puzzles, fiddly platforming, and severe frame rate dips make Rime feel like a well-dressed tribute act." -- Oscar Dayus [Full review]
Polygon -- 6.5/10
"Save for its manipulative final moments, I spent the of the entirety of the game completely stone-faced. I felt only a detached appreciation for visuals and music that, because of the monotonous game they envelop, never congeal into something really moving. No giggles of delight, no gasps of wonder, just ... nothing. I didn't hate Rime. I didn't love Rime. I played Rime for a while, then later, it ended." -- Justin McElroy [Full review]
The Guardian -- 4/5
"Rime exists in a well-trodden video-game niche, remarkable for neither its concept nor its execution. But it transcends its limitations by tapping into something universal: a child's feelings of wonder at a strange and sometimes dangerous world." -- Steve Dinneen [Full review]
Eurogamer -- Recommended
"This game has it all, really. It has a sense of wonder, of poise and, over time, a true sense of emerging character. And it has something to say. Something that is worth hearing." -- Christian Donlan [Full review]
Game Informer -- 8/10
"Rime's world and story are where it shines. It pulls the player through strange seemingly disconnected environments, slowly revealing its true meaning as you move deeper. In the end, everything is sharply pulled into focus with a simple, but dramatic final story revelation and level. It made me want to replay the game from my new perspective and even seek out the collectibles I had earlier written off as unnecessary. Many elements of Rime are familiar, but it is an effective use of the medium and expertly builds up to (and executes) its cathartic finale." -- Kyle Hillard [Full review]
PC Gamer -- 62/100
"The lack of narrative drive is why Rime didn't click with me in the way I hoped it would. I didn't know enough about the boy or his journey to really care about why he was following this yappy fox around, even when I did find a particular puzzle engaging. When the soundtrack swells dramatically in a way that suggests the game is trying to provoke feels--which is fairly frequently--it just hasn't earned those emotional moments. I'm sad to say I was unmoved by most of Rime's attempts to engage me on a deeper narrative level. I'm not made of stone, or anything, and plenty of narrative-centric games get under my skin. I just think Rime waits too long to make you invest in what's going on." -- Samuel Roberts [Full review]
GamesRadar+ -- 4.5/5
"That being said, these aren't the kind of flaws that make Rime unplayable or even unpleasant. The modicum of frustration imposed by these technical failings is negligible compared to the constant sense of satisfaction it offers. Every time you solve a puzzle, uncover a secret passage, or collect a hidden trinket, you feel all the more clever because you saw the hint of something bigger and wanted to figure it out. You saw a path and wanted to see where it led." -- Sam Prell [Full review]
US Gamer -- 3/5
"Rime is a beautiful, beautiful game that manages to feel remarkably empty, even in the face of its earnest attempts. The aesthetic that breathes life into the island of Rime feels a bit too familiar, but it doesn't dampen its vast, ever-photographable horizons. Nonetheless, Rime is a light third-person adventure game with quiet puzzle solving, in a year where we haven't had much of those, which alone makes it a worthwhile respite." -- Cat McCarthy [Full review]
Following the recent announcement of the Monarch's Reign update for Titanfall 2, a new trailer has now arrived. It shows off some of the paid and free content on the way, including the new Titan that all players will receive.
The Monarch Titan is described as a "mid-range Vanguard-class" mech. It uses the Chaingun and features an Upgrade Core that allows players to choose upgrades for it over the course of its life. In the trailer, we see it destroy an enemy Titan and allow its Pilot inside to jump aboard the enemy Titan to steal its battery, before jumping right back inside Monarch. It's also shown ripping an enemy Pilot out of their Titan and crushing them to death before kicking their destroyed Titan to the ground.
We also get a look at the other major piece of free content in this update, the new map Relic, which returns from Titanfall. Respawn's official description states, "Created with frontlines in mind, the gameplay is all about assaulting and controlling the center and engaging in firefights from the great viewpoints of the ship against the varied defensible positions in the town."
Additionally, there's a look at the free new execution, Now You See Me. This involves kicking an enemy in the back, cloaking, and then stabbing them in the face when they turn around. It's pretty brutal.
In terms of paid content, the new Prime Titan designs for Ronin and Tone are on display. Monarch's Reign also adds new nose art, camos, and callsigns to the in-game store for purchase.
Monarch's Reign arrives for all players on May 30. In addition to everything mentioned above, it updates the Crashsite map with collision fixes and new wallrunning and ziplining spots. You can read more in our previous coverage.
It's been several years since Rime was first unveiled, but the adventure game is finally launching tomorrow on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. To mark the occasion, developer TequilaWorks has published a launch trailer showing some of what you can expect.
The trailer shows off the idyllic island that you'll explore in game. It also gives a glimpse at some of the puzzles, creatures, and settings that you'll encounter. The peaceful violin music in the background is a nice touch, too. Check it out below.
Rime draws inspiration from many different games and works of literature. According to the developer, it's influenced by stories like The Little Prince, films from Studio Ghibli, and Joaquin Sorolla's paintings.
Rime is available starting tomorrow for $30. It is also coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in the fall, but TequilaWorks has yet to announce an exact release date.
In GameSpot's 6/10 review, critic Oscar Dayus praised Rime's beautiful art and entrancing world but knocked it for frustrating puzzles and a confusing story. "Rime's artistry is unquestionable," he writes. "Each world is enchanting in its own way, from the naturalistic peace of the first to the abstract doom of the last... But when compared to its influences like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Journey, it doesn't hold up too well."
The first three DLC characters for Injustice 2 have already been revealed but without any indication of when they will arrive. At least one of those three, Red Hood, is apparently launching in the near future.
Developer NetherRealm Studios' creative director, Ed Boon, shared the news on Twitter today, stating simply in a tweet, "Red Hood coming soon." This was accompanied by the screenshot below, which shows him lying on his back, juggling an opponent in the air with a pair of handguns.
Red Hood is on his way to the game as part of Fighter Pack 1, which also consists of Starfire and Sub-Zero (from Mortal Kombat, NetherRealm's other fighting game series). The original announcement offered only a tease of what they each look like in Injustice 2, but no actual gameplay, making this screenshot our first real glimpse of Red Hood in the game.
A release date and price for Fighter Pack 1 have not been announced, but it's included as part of Injustice 2's Deluxe and Ultimate editions. We'll report back as NetherRealm shares more.
There are several movies in the X-Men universe currently in development, and the first to hit screens will be the The New Mutants. Although the film will focus upon a group of teenage mutants, director Josh Boone has revealed that it is not going to be a standard superhero movie.
Speaking to EW, Boone said: "We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We're trying to do something very, very different."
While Boone wouldn't reveal any further details about the movie, EW's sources provided a short synopsis: "Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren't out to save the world--they're just trying to save themselves."
This isn't the first time that we've heard that The New Mutants might be going in a different direction from the main X-Men films. Last year, ComingSoon suggested it would be a "teen horror movie," while X-Men producer Simon Kinberg said that it would have "its own unique, original voice."
Earlier this month, it was announced that Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) would star, playing Wolfsbane and Magik respectively. While no further cast have been announced, EW states that Henry Zaga, who appeared in the recent Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why, is to play Sunspot.
The New Mutants starts shooting in July and hits theaters on April 13, 2018.
Switch owners looking for something new to play have a fresh option today on the eShop.
Like almost half of the system's eShop releases to date, today's addition is another ACA Neo Geo game port. This time around, the game is The King of Fighters '99, which was originally released on 1999 and has been ported to a variety of systems over the years.
Given its name--or by considering what so many of the Switch's other ACA Neo Geo games have been--you can likely glean that this is a fighting game. It was developed by SNK and features a new Striker Match mode, where players choose a fourth character who can be temporarily brought in during a match to attack their opponent and then leave. The game costs $8/£6.29.
It's a big day for Microsoft's livestreaming service, Beam, as the company has announced a new name for the platform and rolled out more features for it that will offer a "whole new world of possibilities."
Starting with the name change, Beam is now called Mixer. In a blog post, co-founder Matt Salsamendi said it was a "tough decision" to change the name, and speaking to GameSpot, he explained that the new name aims to reflect how the service aims to bring people together. Overall, he says it's a "better name, better brand" for the platform going forward. Salsamendi added that he wants the service to expand to all major global markets and "that wasn't something we could do with the Beam name."
For those just learning about Beam, it separates itself itself from Twitch and other livestreaming services with its interactive nature and low-latency. Viewers can interact with streamers to ask them to do things like go on specifics requests or really anything else they want. Salsamendi teased that Microsoft's Minecraft team is looking into ways to make interactivity through Mixer an official game feature, building on what some in the community have already done on their own.
As for the new Mixer features, the biggest and most notable is co-streaming. Available from today, the feature lets up to four people combine their streams into a single viewer, via split-screen, with a "centralized" chat interface. The feature is out now for everyone on PC and Xbox One, while Xbox One users will be able to invite friends to join a co-stream directly from the Guide in the "coming weeks."
The co-streaming feature doesn't limit you to one game or even the same activity (some people can play games, others board games, or cooking, or whatever they want), though you can do that if you want. Additionally, streams don't have to come from the same source--the co-streaming feature works with console, PC, and mobile streams at the same time.
Salsamandi told GameSpot that he "couldn't say" if he thinks Twitch will follow with its own take on co-streaming, though he's excited about Mixer being the only service out there that offers the feature. He also told us that almost every feature for Beam/Mixer has been at least partially the result of responding to fan feedback, and this is no different for co-streaming. The long-term plan for Mixer is to continue to add even more features and functionality, he said.
Here is a rundown of some of the other notable takeaways from the big Mixer news today:
A Mixer Create app for iOS and Android is out now in beta form. Right now, you can only self-broadcast, but the app will soon let you stream gameplay as well. "In the future, you could imagine streaming Pokemon Go on your mobile device, through Mixer, and hunting with viewers!" Microsoft said.
A new channel called "Channel One" will showcase a "wide variety of content," including new releases and special events, along with tips and tricks for game. This channel will always be online, and the content is moderated by Microsoft.
A Mixer Page is coming to the Xbox One dashboard. It will show the "most unique, popular, and engaging" streams that are live at any particular time.
Microsoft's E3 2017 briefing will be broadcast on Mixer in 4K for those with a TV that supports that.
Microsoft is launching a Mixer Studio at the company's flagship 5th Avenue location in Manhattan. A "state of the art facility," this digital production studio is designed for "live audience, competitive, and community gaming events."
If you've been wanting to try out some of Black Ops 3's multiplayer DLC, then June might be a good time to dip back in: the title's four multiplayer map packs are going free on PC for most of the month.
Starting May 30 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST, Black Ops 3's four multiplayer map add-ons--Awakening, Eclipse, Descent, and Salvation--will be included in regular playlists and playable for free for everyone for 30 days. That means a total of 16 extra maps will be playable, on top of the base game's 12.
Players who already own the DLC packs will receive double XP when playing on maps you previously bought (not including the base game's arenas), and if you own the Season Pass then you'll get double XP on all multiplayer maps.
The maps will be downloaded automatically for PC Black Ops 3 owners as part of the Multiplayer DLC Trial Pack--find out how to stop the download here if you don't want to install the added content. Although publisher Activision does not state a definitive end time in its blog post, it does say the trial will last 30 days, which would mean the free access will end on June 29. No potential PS4, PS3, Xbox One, or Xbox 360 versions of the trial were mentioned.
Injustice 2 raced to the top of the charts in the UK for its launch week and now we know it did the same in Australia and New Zealand. The IGEA today released the latest weekly sales charts for the week ended May 21, showing that the NetherRealm-developed fighting game was No. 1 on the all-platforms charts for Australia and Zealand. Weekly sales charts are not released in the US, only monthly charts, so we won't know how the game performed stateside until the middle of June.
Another notable new release was Sony's virtual reality game Farpoint. It opened at No. 5 in Australia and No. 7 in New Zealand.
Below are the top 10 sales charts for Australia and Zealand for the week ended May 14, broken down by platforms. Note that the charts only include physical sales.
Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts knows his stuff when it comes to gaming. Now, the director has revealed that the movie contains multiple video game references that you may hve missed.
In a series of tweets (via GoNintendo), Vogt-Roberts said things like the soldier's helmets in the film were inspired by Mega Man, Gundam, and Metroid, while there were also Zelda/Hylian influences. The acclaimed indie game Journey also influenced Vogt-Roberts for Skull Island.
Small details no one will ever notice but I spent wayyyy too much time designing: The Megaman, Gundam & Metroid inspired helmets in Kong. pic.twitter.com/UQawzrDJBS
In my last video game related KONG post today...The Sky Devils logo has a very Zelda / Hylian influence. Surprised no one has spotted this. pic.twitter.com/8djyilXen5
Another video game homage in KONG. Anyone who knows me is aware that JOURNEY is one of my favorite things... ever. (cc: @hunicke) pic.twitter.com/M9sUGeJCg4
Not all of Vogt-Roberts' video game tributes made it into Skull Island. He also revealed a really cool-looking tiger-with-antlers creature inspired by Okami, but this was unfortunately cut.
At one point there was a very OKAMI inspired creature in KONG. I was obsessed with a tiger that had antlers. Didn't make the cut. pic.twitter.com/E8zv9MU20p
In another tweet, the director said what's been revealed so far about the Skull Island's video game tributes/influences/references is only the "tip of the iceberg."
Vogt-Roberts is directing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, which appears to be more of an idea than a real thing at this stage. But what's clear is Vogt-Roberts sounds like the right person for the job.
"I think it'd be a massive film, I think it'd be an incredible film, but it needs to be done in a way that completely honors what Metal Gear is because it's a classic and it's a seminal work not just in video games, but in media," he explained earlier this year.
What video game references did you spot in Skull Island? Let us know in the comments below!
Magikarp Jump, as it's called, challenges players to catch the fish Pokemon, level it up, and train it to become the highest jumper in the land. When your Magikarp gets knocked out, or retires at level 20, you start again with a new-generation version of the creature. You don't lose everything, however, as each new generation of Magikarp gets stronger.
"When you do well in jumping tournaments, you can get commemorative photos of your achievement," reads a line from the game's description. "You can share these photos online and with friends to show the world how well you've trained your Magikarp."
Like other free-to-play games, Magikarp Jump features microtransactions for things like items that speed up training, replenish food stock, and customize your Magikarp's surroundings.
You can download Magikarp Jump right now through the links below.
If you're the MLB's Atlanta Braves and you have a three-hour and 12 minute rain delay, what do you do to pass the time? Play Mario Kart, obviously.
That's what happened on Tuesday night at SunTrust Part in Atlanta. Players Nick Markakis, Ender Inciarte, Sean Rodriguez, Jim Johnson, and Jace Peterson played multiple races of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in the clubhouse. Based on the Atlanta Braves report (via GoNintendo), we don't know who won, but the team seems to agree that Markakis, who uses Princess Peach, is the most skilled Mario Kart player.
"The best in the clubhouse is definitely Nick Markakis, as he is phenomenal," Jackson said. "[Eric] O'Flaherty is pretty good, Ender is good and Sean Rodriguez is an actual solid sleeper pick. But Markakis is probably clubhouse champ."
For his part, Markakis said playing Mario Kart with his teammates helps build chemistry. The team also plays Mario Kart before their baseball games, and pitcher Sam Freeman said watching his teammates play during the rain delay this week helped him stay calm before getting back to the action.
"You've got to have some camaraderie in the clubhouse, and some fun other than baseball," Markakis said. "We are here for one thing, and we realize that, but when you have down time, you've got to have some things to do. It is just one of those things."
To claim your free copy of the 2011 role-playing game, all of you need to do is log into GOG.com with the same account you used for the beta, and then follow the instructions (via Game Informer). You must claim your free copy before 8 AM ET on May 29, so the offer is not available for very long.
In other Gwent news, the game is now available to everyone in a public beta, which CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski called an "important step" towards final launch in a news release.
"I'm extra curious how all of the community feedback we've incorporated will resonate with both current players and those who're just starting," he added. "Please keep the feedback coming, we're listening!"
A cinematic trailer for Gwent has been released to mark the game's public beta launch; you can watch it through the video embed above. New gameplay instruction videos can be found on YouTube.
Gwent, which is based on the in-game card game of the same name, is free-to-play on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can grab it through the links below.
Ewan McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the divisive Star Wars prequels, but who else was considered for the famous role? It's been revealed that actor Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love, The Handmaid's Tale) was close to getting the role before he was passed over for something of a strange reason.
Joseph Fiennes told TheWrap that, after considering a number of actors, the list of candidates for Obi-Wan was whittled down to himself and one of his Guildhall School of Music and Drama classmates: McGregor. Fiennes auditioned in front of George Lucas and casting director Robin Gurland, and apparently it went well, at least up until that point.
After auditioning, Fiennes met with "somebody's daughter," the report said, a person who Fiennes said was a "lovely, delightful" child who might have only been five years old. But this young girl didn't approve of Fiennes, apparently. This person's daughter said, "'I don't like this guy. He's weird. I don't like him.' And that's how my audition went."
The Wrap originally reported that it was Lucas' daughter who said this, but the site has since clarified that it was not her, but instead someone else who has not been named.
The next Star Wars movie is this December's The Last Jedi. Some images of the film's new characters, played by Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro, have been released--you can see them here.
Tired of the same multiplayer announcer in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and looking for something new to mix things up, in a humorous way? Activision today launched a multiplayer voiceover pack for Infinite Warfare featuring the voice of comedian and actor Ken Jeong.
The Ken Jeong VO Pack is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It's priced at $4 in the US. This follows the Method Man VO and the Ozzy Man VO Packs that came out earlier this year.
As you can hear in the trailer above, Jeong calls out things like killstreaks and other notable events with an "extra-dose of dry humour." Here are some of my favorites:
"You're doing great. Do you have a number for the other team?
"Enemy advanced UAV down. Not so advanced now..."
"I am in your heard right now. There is no way you can do this without me."
2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts also featured celebrity voice over packs, for Snoop Dogg and Full Metal Jacket's R Lee Ermey.
If you're feeling nostalgic for Crash Bandicoot, this year's a good one for you. The Crash Bandicoot remaster for PS4 is coming up soon, and now, to celebrate the release, Activision has announced a line of official merchandise for the game.
The highlight of the line are the new t-shirts. Five shirts have been designed with a variety of Crash-themed images and logos; you can see them in a gallery below. In addition, you'll be able to pick up key chains, mugs, wallets, and hats, among other things.
Oh, and if, for whatever reason, you've ever wanted a Crash Bandicoot-themed scented candle, now's your chance. There are three candles shaped like TNT boxes for sale. According to the website, "The scents of the jungle will engross you into the game." The full set will run you $42.
You can find all of the items over at design company Numskull's website. The items ship to 15 countries and are available through several different storefronts.
More casting news for the highly anticipated Deadpool 2 has come to light today. Deadline reports that Fox has hired actor Jack Kesy to play a "major villain" in the sequel to last year's breakout hit.
Kesy's role is not confirmed, but the site's sources indicated it could be Black Tom, an Irish mutant who harnesses the power of plant life and is known to attack with a shillelagh.
An official announcement from Fox has not been made as of yet about Kesy, but we'll report back with more details as they're announced. Kesy is perhaps best known for his role on The Strain. He also appeared in the recently released Baywatch.
Ryan Reynolds returns as Deadpool in the sequel, while other returning cast members include Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapacic as Colossus, and Brianna Hildebrand as Warhead. In terms of newcomers, Zazie Beetz has been cast as Domino, while Josh Brolin will play Cable. You can watch a video of Brolin getting ripped in preparation for the role right here.
Deadpool 2 comes out on June 1, 2018. It is directed by David Leitch, who replaces the first movie's director, Tim Miller after he dropped out due to creative differences with Reynolds. The original film's writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are returning for the sequel.
The first teaser for Deadpool 2 was released earlier this year and can be seen above.
Epic's Unreal Engine 4 is one of the more popular game engines out there, and dozens of games have been made using its tech. Now, UE 4 developers will be able to bring their games to even more platforms, as the latest release of the engine fully supports Nintendo Switch.
Epic and Nintendo have collaborated on making UE 4 compatible with Switch, and they have now released the source code for the engine to approved creators for free. This new release, UE 4.16, replaces version 4.15, which had experimental support for Switch development.
You can apply to become an approved developer over at Epic's website; if you're approved, you'll gain access to the UE 4 Switch developer forum to talk with other creators.
Unreal Engine 4 powers a huge number of different games on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, such as Street Fighter V, Gears of War 4, and Shenmue III. Not including the Switch source code, the engine is available to anyone for free. You can download it and learn about it over at the Unreal Engine website.
The trailer was first shared on Latin America's Netflix Twitter account today, but we've since gotten an English-language version that you can check out above.
Castlevania is produced by Adi Shakar and written by Warren Ellis, the famed comic writer behind series like Transmetropolitan.
"Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself," an official description reads.
With E3 2017 now just a few weeks away, preparations are well underway for the big gaming show in Los Angeles. Giant posters outside of the convention hall are always a part of the show, and it looks like this will be no different this year. A three-panel poster for Star Wars: Battlefront II is currently in the process of being installed on the famous Figueroa Hotel, nearby the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Here is a picture of the poster that Battlefront II actress Janina Gavankar, who plays the main character, found on Reddit and posted to her Twitter page:
Battlefront II launches in November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We're expecting to learn more about the shooter--which has a campaign unlike 2015's game--at E3 coming up soon.
EA's EA Play event at E3 kicks off on June 10, so expect the news to start rolling in around then.

Fallout 4 released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in 2015. The game was greeted with near universal acclaim; in our Fallout 4 review, we called the title "an excellent addition to the revered open-world series" and awarded it 9/10.
A recent Square Enix announcement has called into question the future of the Hitman series. While we don't know if or when we'll see a new game released, PC owners can pick up the bulk of the series right now at a steep discount.
Hitman Collection, a bundle of the first five games in the Hitman series, is currently discounted on Amazon (via Wario64). The digital version--which gets you the games on Steam--can be picked up for $10, well below its usual price of $40. While all of these games have been steeply discounted before on their own, this works out to a mere $2 per title, which isn't too shabby. Here's what's included:
That represents the bulk of the series; in terms of core entries, it only leaves out last year's episodic Hitman, which was quite good. The Hitman franchise is also comprised of the excellent Hitman Go, as well as Hitman Sniper. Both of those started out as mobile games, though Go has since been ported to other platforms.
Earlier this month, Square Enix--owner of Hitman developer IO Interactive--revealed that it plans to divest ownership of the studio. This could result in IO being sold off to another company, though whether the rights to the Hitman IP would also change hands is unknown. Subsequently, IO experienced a round of layoffs, the specifics of which have not been shared.
Update: Hot on the heels of update 1.21, Guerrilla has released another patch, version 1.22. This resolves a crash that occurred when getting on certain mounts with the 1.21 update installed. The original story follows.
Many of these are related to issues after disabling the HUD, but gameplay is also affected. For instance, the lure call should no longer be able to pull a bandit from the other side of a camp. A number of progression bugs that prevented players from advancing in the game have been resolved; these are detailed in the full patch notes below, but beware of potential spoilers.
Some problems with Photo mode have been addressed as well. For instance, one issue that's been resolved--sadly, I would argue--involved throwing a rock and then changing poses, which would cause Aloy's body "to bend, twist, and spin rapidly." At least Twin Peaks is now back to fill that void.
Developer Guerrilla Games notes that if you run into a problem, you should first try going back to a recent save. If that doesn't work, take a screenshot, make note of your location, and send all of that to Guerrilla's support team.
You can see everything that's changed in the patch notes below.
Horizon: Zero Dawn 1.21 Update Patch Notes
General Fixes
Fixed an issue with the lure call, where some players could lure bandits from the other side of the bandit camps, by reducing its range.
Fixed an issue where for some players, 'Strike from Above' would not activate when coming from a zip line.
Fixed an issue with 'Strike from Above' where for some players Aloy would get stuck until the strike would be completed.
The 'Inactive Quests' toggle option now also filters the 'New Quests' icons from the map screen.
Fixed an issue with the interaction markers when set to 'always off' in the custom HUD menu. If some players positioned the camera through a bandit's body the interaction markers would appear visible again.
Fixed an issue with the 'Show HUD on touch' menu option not resetting to the default value.
Fixed an issue where some players would not get a notification when they have leveled up if they had the 'XP bar' feature set to 'always off' in the custom HUD menu.
Fixed an issue where some players could suddenly be thrown from a Tallneck's head and killed when it makes a very sharp turn during its path.
Photo Mode Fixes
Fixed an issue where changing poses after throwing a rock would cause conflict between animations where Aloy's body would begin to bend, twist and spin rapidly.
Fixed an issue with the 'Look At' toggle and Body Poses being available during hit reactions that Aloy triggers on herself such as falling and grenade damage.
Fixed an issue with Aloy twisting and bending if the player selects the 'Look At' toggle shortly after closing the focus.
Fixed an issue where having previous Photo Mode settings active whilst in a new instance of Photo Mode with the Focus open would cause animation issues when pressing the triangle button.
Fixed an issue with the 'Greetings' option whilst on top of the Spire, it would state the player is located in the Estate.
Fixed an issue with the 'Greetings' option where the wrong weather effect would be mentioned while at Mother's Crown. Fixed an issue with the 'Field of view' option where it could cause several level of detail issues especially when overlooking Meridian.
Progression Fixes
SPOILERS
Fixed an issue in "Hunter's Blind" where some players cannot progress past Hunter's Blind and follow Talanah because Aloy was bound to the sequence of "The City of the Sun" quest.
Fixed an issue in "Underequipped" where some players encountered that one of the objectives would become blank once completed if the player started the quest at Hunter's Gathering.
Fixed an issue in "Maker's End" where some players were able to avoid a progression trigger, resulting in the player getting stuck on the 'Go to Ted's Office' objective.
Fixed an issue in "Deep Secrets of the Earth" where some players were not able to obtain the datapoints in Sobeck's office if the player wants to pick them up after the explosion caused by Helis, as they have disappeared.
The much-anticipated sequel Divinity: Original Sin II finally has a release date. The RPG is slated to launch for PC on September 14, developer Larian Studios announced today.
Original Sin II is already partially available through Steam, where its first act has been in Early Access since late last year. This September, the remainder of the game will be available, including its full campaign and new PvP and Game Master modes.
Coinciding with the announcement, Larian has released a new update for the Early Access version. This introduces a new relationship system for companions and two new areas, along with changes to the crafting and character-creation systems. These additions are discussed by Larian in the video above.
