You can get to the battle royale a little faster in Fortnite, thanks to a buff of sorts to the Battle Bus. Epic has rolled out an update that makes it move 25% faster while flying, so you can start jumping out and heading for the fray that much quicker.
Epic didn't give a specific reason for letting the Battle Bus driver hit the gas. Presumably as the audience has grown more accustomed to dropping onto the battlefield, Epic feels it can speed up the process slightly. A 25% increase is substantial enough to be felt, but not so fast that it will be too disorienting. Maybe it can be attributed to people thanking the bus driver.
In a follow-up tweet, Epic noted that demand for the Alpha Tournament was high, and made a cheeky joke about running out of Battle Buses. It then wrote that a small patch was being deployed to help tournament crashes and Android issues.
The Battle Bus is test driving an engine upgrade and now travels 25% faster while flying. Remember, always buckle up and thank your driver!
The Alpha Tournament is the official kickoff of the new in-game tournament feature introduced in the 6.10 patch. A separate tournament called Friday Night Fortnite will be held every Friday night through the end of November. Tournaments are in a testing phase right now and the pins you can earn are mostly for bragging rights. Epic has said that in the future those pins may serve as your entry fee for higher-tier tourneys.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds matches on PC are about to get even crazier starting today, with the kickoff of the game's 50v50 game mode event. Dubbed Platoon Mode, it sees the usual crop of 100 players, usually set against each other to see who can be the last player or the last squad standing, into a huge gunfight.
Players are divided into five 10-player squads to make up each platoon--and one can only assume that the in-game voice channel completely unusable at that point. Battle royale competitor Fortnite has a similar mode that pops up periodically as a timed event.
Platoon Mode kicks off today, October 18, at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET (and 3 AM BST on October 19) for the PC version of the game. Platoon Mode also supports both third-person perspective and first-person perspective games.
You might be fighting with an army at your back in Platoon Mode, but that's the only big change to your normal PUBG match. The usual objectives of looting buildings, finding better gear, avoiding the closing circle, dodging explosive red zones, and killing other players (or spending the whole match hiding in a bathroom) still apply. All that's different is the size and scope of the teams in the match.
You'll know the other players in your platoon in-game by the blue circle that appears over their heads. While having 50 players on a team might sound like chaos, friendly fire is disabled, so players won't have to worry about accidentally shooting other friendly squads.
This isn't the first time PUBG made an attempt at a take on the 50v50 mode. It briefly ran the mode back in May, when it was dubbed "Desert Knights," but server issues and crashes led to the mode's discontinuation within 24 hours.
Players pulled into PUBG to check out the 50v50 mode will have a surprise waiting for them if they haven't played the game in a bit, also. Developer PUBG Corporation is offering players a free in-game item, plus 20,000 Battlegrounds Points, its in-game currency, as an apology for some recent matchmaking and server issues. Players have until 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET on October 23 / 1 AM BST on October 24 to claim their items.
It's a big week for Destiny 2, as Bungie released a significant update alongside the launch of two events: Iron Banner and Festival of the Lost. In terms of the update, it introduces a variety of welcome changes and fixes, and it's good news for scout rifle users, Iron Banner fans, and players who are sick of Edge Transit. Here's what's new.
As detailed in the full patch notes on Bungie's website, update 2.0.4 is a substantial one, even if it doesn't introduce much in the way of new features. Scout rifles, which have been suffering from low damage since around the time of Forsaken's launch, have been given a damage boost against non-player enemies. That should hopefully make them more viable than they have been in recent weeks.
With Iron Banner kicking off, you'll notice some important changes. Each Iron Banner bounty that's offered will reward you with Powerful gear, rather than just two, as was the case in September. And completing those bounties should be easier--the specific requirements for each have been lowered, in some cases significantly. For instance, Shine On only tasks you with creating 50 Orbs of Light, rather than 100. All of this will lead to some nice rewards.
Speaking of Powerful gear, a bug where Powerful rewards didn't drop at a sufficiently high Power level should be fixed. Bungie has also increased the Power of lower level Powerful rewards, which it says "slightly increases the average Power upgrade per powerful drop."
The Collection has been expanded and now allows you to track and retrieve more item types. The most notable are transmat effects. Any that you've gotten your hands on, used, or dismantled since Forsaken launched on September 4 will already be available in the Collection for you. Just be aware of how these are added to your Collection: simply obtaining a ship with a new transmat effect won't do the trick. You'll need to actually get the transmat effect in your inventory for it to unlock. Additionally, the Collection is now home to Ghosts tied to events, Forsaken emblem variants, and a variety of other emblems that were previously missing.
There are few guns more notorious than Edge Transit in Forsaken. It's an extremely common Heavy weapon drop, much to the annoyance of players who have gotten dozens of them. It should now drop less often, as the so-called "world Legendary pool" has added several new items: Through Fire and Flood, Zenobia D, and Crooked Fang-4fr.
One weapon that does draw more ire than Edge Transit is Sleeper Simulant. The previously announced nerf to the gun in Gambit will be coming in the patch launching on October 30. In the meantime, linear fusion rifles have been given an aim assist buff--with the exception of Sleeper. That might result in a more varied assortment of linear fusion rifles being used.
The patch is now available in Destiny 2 and will be followed by the weekly reset and the kick-off of Iron Banner and Festival of the Lost. Iron Banner runs until October 23, while the Halloween-themed event goes until November 6.
It was over 35 years ago that John Carpenter had what he thought would be his final word on the Halloween franchise. After directing the original film, co-writing the first two, and co-producing Halloween II and III, he was ready to move on with his life. And he did, directing films like Christine, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape from LA, and Village of the Damned.
Yet, somehow, 40 years after the first film, John Carpenter is right back where he started in the fictional town of Haddonfield, once again haunted by the ghost of Michael Myers. It might be a place he never expected to be, but it's one that probably wouldn't exist without him in 2018.
Speaking to GameSpot, producer Jason Blum said he wasn't interested in making a new Halloween movie without Carpenter. "When we went to Miramax and said they wanted us to do the movie, I did not want to make the movie unless John was going to be involved," he admitted.
According to Blum, Miramax thought it would be impossible to get the original film's director interested. "They said to me, 'We've asked John, and he's not interested,'" he recalled.
In the end, though, Carpenter became interested, and it was all due to a simple conversation. "I went to his office, and I sat with him, and I made my pitch, and he politely listened," Blum explained. "And I said 'Well, let me put it another way. They're gonna make it with or without us... because if you don't do it, I'm not gonna do it, so why don't we join them and see if we can make it well and make something that we're proud of.'"
As the story goes, that's all it took to convince John to return to the one property his career is most synonymous with. And fans should be glad that's how it all played out. As Blum told GameSpot during the film's junket, without him it's possible Jamie Lee Curtis might not have returned as Laurie Strode.
Without Carpenter and Curtis, it's impossible to imagine this movie turning out as great as it did. Now, thanks to them--and everyone involved--Halloween looks ready to rule the box office once again. The new Halloween film is in theaters on October 19.
Ubisoft has issued a new patch for Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The 1.0.5 patch weighs in at 0.16 GB on PS4 and 0.1 GB on Xbox One, and focuses on squashing bugs--including fixing one issue that only appeared after a previous patch.
According to the patch notes, it improves stability and fixes an issue that would make the game crash to the dashboard after the release of update v1.0.3. That update itself was aimed at quality-of-life improvements and fixing game-breaking bugs. The two updates were only days apart, though, so Ubisoft is seeing to these issues quickly.
This week Ubisoft cancelled its first planned live event, explaining that a missing mercenary had gone AWOL. The studio still has big plans for live content and expansions, though, promising the "biggest and most ambitious" post-launch support in franchise history. That will include one story, The Lost Tales of Greece, for free to all players, along with paid episodic installments Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis. The studio has already said it doesn't plan to release another Assassin's Creed next year, instead leaning on its post-launch content plans.
If you're just beginning your journey into Ancient Greece, check out some tips for beginners to get started on the right foot. If you've reached far enough in Odyssey, on the other hand, you can start taking on mythological beasts. Of course to do that, you might want to get your hands on some Legendary armor sets.
Update focus:
Improving game's stability
Fixed an issue that led to crashes to dashboard on PS4 and Xbox One after 1.0.3
Sony's new movie, Venom, has received mostly poor reviews, but that hasn't stopped it from setting a new US box office record in its first weekend. And although it may also not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is a comic book movie--and that means it borrowed some pages of the MCU playbook by including a pair of extra scenes after the credits roll. Its two post-credits sequences feature a surprising reveal, a sequel teaser, and some hype for another Spider-adjacent movie entirely. So technically there is a Spider-Man reference in Venom? Does this count? Obvious spoilers ahead--please consider yourself warned!
The first and most consequential of Venom's credits stingers features a rather abrupt jump to Eddie being escorted into a supermax prison by a guard, apparently on assignment for his newly resumed journalistic career. The actual angle of the piece and the outlet that commissioned it are never revealed, but that doesn't stop the guard from running down a list of intimidating Silence of the Lambs style rules Eddie has to follow upon conducting his interview, as if he's Clarice Starling about to meet Hannibal Lecter for the first time. Venom itself stays hidden and mostly quiet as Eddie approaches the cell, and we see a man painting the word "welcome" in blood on the walls of his cage, which happens to be a lone box in the middle of an otherwise empty room. He's the only prisoner kept here, we can assume for the safety of the other inmates.
As the camera focuses on his face, he's revealed to be played by Woody Harrelson, sitting in a white jumpsuit, done up with an almost cartoonish red wig. He never formally introduces himself but begins to speak as Eddie approaches, warning that when he "gets out of here, there's going to be carnage" before the scene cuts to black.
Though he's never formally named, it's pretty obvious that Harrelson is set to play Cletus Kasady in whatever Venom sequel might be in the works, the serial killing mass murderer who eventually comes into possession of his very own symbiote named--wait for it--Carnage.
In the comics, Carnage is actually one of the Venom symbiote's many offspring, created during a brief stint in which Eddie was incarcerated and kept in a cell next to Kasady, where it eventually bonded to him without Eddie's knowledge. Thanks to Kasady's major homicidal streak and psychopathic tendencies, and some comic book science involving the symbiote bonding to Kasady's blood directly (don't worry about it), Carnage became a massive and powerful threat almost immediately.
Physically, Carnage looks similar to Venom, except it's blood red in color and tends to fight with a bunch of gooey tentacle-like appendages in addition to its standard issue symbiote shape-shifting and brute strength. Unlike Brock, however, Kasady was never interested in trying to reign in Carnage's murderous, cannibalistic side, meaning Carnage basically just gets to cut a swath of destruction and terror wherever it wants, whenever it wants.
We can't be sure based on this scene alone just how the Carnage symbiote will come into play or how Kasady will bond with it. The movie universe hasn't dealt with the symbiotes reproducing so far, so it's likely that the family connection between the two will be changed. And given that Brock himself isn't actively incarcerated, there will probably be some other way for Kasady to come in contact with his symbiote--a rogue Life Foundation experiment, maybe? Some sort of Riot fragment that survived the crash? Alternatively, there's a slight possibility that the movie will posit Kasady already having Carnage inside him (hence the high security prison set up and the "there will be carnage" line) with the intent of building out that backstory somewhere down the line. Really anything is possible at this point.
In an interview with GameSpot, Venom director Ruben Fleischer elaborated on the scene and the casting choice of Woody Harrelson, with whom he has worked in the past.
"We tried at the end of our movie to lay the groundwork for a potential sequel, or a further story. And there's a character that's beloved by all Venom fans that does not appear in the body of our film that I think fans will be really excited to see," Fleischer said. "I found somebody who I have a relationship with and love working with. And I love all the characters that he's played. So to imagine him being an iconic adversary to Venom in the future is really exciting."
The only thing we can be sure of is that, should Venom be greenlit for a part two, Carnage fans will definitely have something to write home about.
Enter Spider-Man
Venom's second post credits segment was actually, technically, not a post credits scene at all, but a promotional clip for an entirely different movie: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is set for release this December. Heralded by a bright "Meanwhile, in another universe" title card, the clip featured the animated Miles Morales running from an unknown, masked enemy wearing a makeshift spider-style costume before winding up at the grave of the late Peter Parker.
He's then met by a very much alive Peter Parker, who he accidentally knocks out, prompting a Weekend At Bernie's style series of mishaps around New York in which Miles drags the very unconscious Peter around the city. The clip was previously showcased in part at San Diego Comic-Con this year.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has no direct connection with either Venom or the MCU that we know of yet, and even if it did, it certainly doesn't impact the significance of this particular clip. Instead it's set to build its own multiverse populated by some fan favorite Spider-Man comics characters, hence the "Spider-Verse" title. So, no real hidden meanings or major clues for the future of Sony's superhero line on this one, just a little teaser for another movie headed to theaters this winter.

Crunchyroll has announced that Funimation has decided to break off the two anime streaming services' partnership. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have been partnered for the past two years, but the two will officially split on November 9.
While partnered, the websites have been working together to simulcast certain anime in both Japanese and English, so that viewers can choose to watch popular series--like My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan--in either language on the same day. Prior to the partnership, most anime released in Japanese with English subtitles first, and anyone who wanted to watch the series in English would have to wait weeks for it to be dubbed.
Crunchyroll has confirmed that all currently-airing "simulcasts and series that premiered during the partnership will continue to be available on Crunchyroll" and "all home video releases will be released as scheduled and all pre-orders will be fulfilled." However, after November 9, Funimation will no longer be offered as a part of the VRV bundle--a service which allows you to subscribe to dozens of animation streaming services such as Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, and Machinima.com for a discounted price. Also, certain series will be dropped from Crunchyoll and Funimation.
Although an official partnership with Crunchyroll hasn't been announced, Hidive is joining the VRV family. Smaller than both Crunchyroll and Funimation, Hidive has made a name for itself by streaming some of the best anime exclusives from the past two years--and the website shares series in both Japanese and English. 2017's Princess Principal and Land of the Lustrous are especially memorable, and the currently airing Bloom Into You is one of the most gorgeous anime series we've ever seen. The streaming service is owned by Sentai Filmworks so it also shares anime licensed by the company, like the critically acclaimed zombie ecchi Highschool of the Dead and award-winning Made in Abyss.
Although we reached out, Crunchyroll declined to comment on whether Hidive's induction into VRV would mean the two websites would start sharing their exclusives. Crunchyroll also declined to comment on whether Hidive would start dubbing some of Crunchyroll's shows. However, the streaming service did tease that more announcements will be shared prior to the end of 2018.
If you're looking for anime to watch on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hidive, check out our Fall 2018 anime watch guide. It includes every anime debuting on the three websites, as well as Netflix and Amazon, and lists the seven series that you should add to your queue.
There's much to experience in the massive open-world of Ancient Greece in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. But as is tradition, the Assassin's Creed series has a very strange way of blending historical accuracy with bizarre supernatural elements--and Odyssey is no exception. While you'll mostly take on pirates, foot soldiers, and the sinister members of the Cult of Kosmos throughout the various locales around the world, there are some encounters that will take some extra effort to find--leading to Odyssey's most memorable fights against beasts of legend.
In this feature, we breakdown Assassin's Creed Odyssey's most involved and unique quest-line, which pits you against some various mythological beasts that reference Greek mythology, including the deadly Medusa and the Cyclops. In addition to giving you all the details on how to find them, we also offer up some tips on how to overcome their unique challenges. Obviously, there are some spoilers in this article, which relates to the midpoint of the game. Proceed with caution.
Where To Begin
To start your epic quest to vanquish the four mythological creatures hiding out within Ancient Greece, you'll need to reach the midpoint in the main Odyssey quest, which takes you to island of Thera, just north of Messara. After solving the puzzles to gain entry into the ruins, you'll meet a very important character inside, who will give you a new Odyssey quest-line called Between Two Worlds. This quest tasks you with finding four lost Isu artifacts that have been stolen, which are now hidden across the known world of Greece.
While you may get the urge to drop everything and set out to complete this quest after the cutscene's finish, you're much better off holding off until much later into the main story. Not only will you have the proper gear to take out some of the harder challenges, some of the legendary gear that drops from these quests will also become more powerful. We'd recommend you finish the main story, which will take you through many of the islands and locales that house these lost artifacts. What follows is the best order to take on these creatures, based on level.
The Sphinx And Where To Find It
Marked as level 35 quest, the Lord of the Sphinx mission tasks you with finding an artifact hidden in Boetia. Located on the southern coast of Lake Koapis, you'll find ancient Isu ruins shrouded in fog. At these ruins you'll find a discover a Sphinx statue and an NPC named Gorgias, who's searching for a piece of a medallion to unlock the secrets of the temple. Tasking you to find his apprentice, you'll start the next leg of the quest, which will have you travel to the Tomb of Menoikeus. Located in the northeastern part of the Scorched Rolling Plains region in Boetia, you'll find the remains of the apprentice, killed by a nearby alpha lion--which has also eaten the other half of the medallion. After securing the piece, head back to the ruins to proceed with the next part of the quest.
Once you return, you'll find that Gorgias and the statue are missing. Before proceeding further, be sure to save your progress. Taking the piece of the medallion that Gorgias left behind, you'll be able to place the item on a pedestal in the ruins, which will summon the mythological Sphinx. Surprisingly, you won't engage in an actual fight with the Sphinx, but rather a game of careful wits. After conversing with the beast, the challenge begins. You'll only have one chance to clear this encounter, as offering an incorrect solution to the puzzles will result in instant death. Moreover, each subsequent reload of your save will see a different set of riddles offered up.
Think carefully before giving your responses to the Sphinx's questions, as your answers also apply to several runes scattered around the ruins, which have to be activated after the riddles are complete. If you can't find the rune assigned to your given answers, then you'll meet certain doom. After making it through the riddles correctly, you'll best the Sphinx at its own game and collect your first artifact, along with a legendary Sphinx Figurehead for your ship.
The Cyclops And Where To Find It
You'll likely be aware of the location of this particular mythological beast early on into your adventure. Found on the Isle of Thisvi just south of Phokis (one of the first areas you go to after getting your ship), you'll find the ancient Isu ruins after diving into the Forgotten Isle's inner cove. However, the door leading to the mythical Cyclops is sealed, and will remain so until you take on the necessary quest. At a recommend level of 35, the quest that opens the chambers of the Cyclops is located on Kythera Island, towards the southernmost edge of the map. Head to the region known as Pilgrim Hill to find a quest giver near a statue, opening up the mission A God Among Men. By taking this mission, you'll eventually Empedokles, who believes himself to be a god. After assisting him throughout the Island, he'll venture off to the Isle of Thisvi to meet a fellow god.
Once you head back to the small island, head into the island's underground to find Empedokles outside the door, who's ready to reunite with his fellow god. Suffice it to say, things don't work out for Empedokles, and you're left to do battle against the mythological creature. As one of the largest enemies in the game, the Cyclops--also known as Brontes, The Thunderer--has an advantage when it comes to range and raw strength. However, the boss' slow speed and lumbering movement can be taken advantage of. You can also aim the obvious weak spot of its glowing eye with your ranged attacks, dealing some solid damage. Halfway through the fight, the Cyclops will become more aggressive, resulting in some falling debris throughout the chamber. Keep chipping away while avoiding the falling the rocks to take him down. After the fight you'll acquire the next artifact, and along with the Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon, a legendary heavy blade.
The Minotaur And Where To Find It
Located in Messara, on the island in the southeast section of the map, you'll come across a small town in Minotaur Hills that worships the mighty beast. This area serves as a great place to learn more about the history of the region, level up, and gain some new gear--including a replica helmet of the Minotaur (which is just a bull's head fashioned into a helm). Just west of town, you'll find Knossos Palace ruins located in Mino's Legacy. In this area you'll find a child named Ardos, who's trying to rescue his father lost in the chambers of the Minotaur below the palace. Starting the Myths and Minotaurs quest, you'll learn more about the labyrinth and discover that you'll need to find the medallion to open up access.
From here, you'll begin the Of Minotaurs and Men questline, which includes sub-quests around the region including Blood in The Water, Recollections, and Full Circle. Along the way, you'll interact with the allies of Ardos' father, local merchants, and assist the boy's current caretaker. The questline involving the caretaker will have you cross paths with the Swordfish, who just so happens to be a member of the Cult of Kosmos. After completing these tasks, you'll acquire the key to the labyrinth of the Minotaur. While exploring the maze, you'll find the body of Ardos' father, and not long after, encounter the mythological beast.
The battle with the Minotaur can be quite challenging, which requires you to be at least level 40 to make a successful go of it. In this battle, you'll have to dodge many of the Minotaur's attacks and head in for an opening when its vulnerable. Its most powerful move is a ram attack, which you can fortunately see coming. The beast can also stun itself when it rams against an obstruction, allowing you to get some solid hits in. Staying and attacking at a distance is also an effective way of getting the upper hand against the beast. Once you defeat the minotaur, you'll get the next artifact and a new legendary axe known as the Minotaur's Labrys.
The Medusa And Where To Find It
For the final mythological beast, you'll need to travel to the island of Lesbos, located in the northeastern corner of the map. At this point in the game, you'll likely have finished the main story before traveling to this island, which is one of Odyssey's most difficult areas. To start the quest, head to the town of Eresos in the Petrified Valley, which is located on the southwestern coast of the island. In town, you'll find a female NPC named Bryce. After conversing with her, you'll start the quest Romancing the Stone Garden, which tasks you with finding her lover lost in the Petrified Temple. After learning more of the Temple and its mysteries, you'll need to new quest called Shadows of Serpents, along with all of its sub-quests that to open the pathway to the Medusa.
These side-quests will take some time to finish, as they'll have you travel across Lesbos and to the nearby island of Chios. One mission has you infiltrate a village full of female hunters, all of whom are lethal archers and agiles fighters. However, if you already completed the Artemis quest-line involving the hunt for legendary animals, your choices in that mission can allow you to become the leader of the village, letting you come and go without incident. The other quest has you track down an adventurer who's made the dubious claim that he wields the spear that killed Medusa. After completing the necessary steps, head back to the temple to open up the way to Medusa's lair.
The battle against Medusa is Odyssey's most challenging and complex encounter. Choosing to fight at range with a squad of stone mercenaries at her side, the Medusa can petrify targets--namely you--while also calling in aerial attacks that deal heavy damage. In order to remove her protective shield, you'll need eliminate her guards, all while avoiding her petrifying gaze and magic attacks. Throughout the room are several stone pillars, which can offer safe protection from her gaze. After taking out the minions, the beast will become vulnerable, allowing you to deal direct damage to her. During this state, the Medusa will teleport around the arena and immediately follow-up with a ranged energy attack. This will be a long fight, so be patient and stick with a certain rhythm of attacks, both ranged and close-range, and eventually you'll take out Odyssey's most difficult boss--earning you the final artifact and the legendary sword Harpe of Perseus.

The third season of Netflix MCU darling Daredevil is on its way and bringing with it a whole slew of faces both old and new as Matt Murdock's story enters a new, brutal chapter. You can read all about it in our Daredevil Season 3 review.
Murdock's live action road has been anything but easy. He's had two solo seasons and a starring role in the Defenders, which teamed him up with his fellow Netflix heroes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand. During his time in the spotlight, Matt has faced off against the Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk, Frank Castle aka The Punisher, ex-girlfriend Elektra, and shady occult syndicate The Hand. He's fallen out with his closest friends, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. He's lost his law practice--hell, he may even legally be considered dead.
The end of Defenders left Matt in a bit of a tricky position. After he saved the world from the Black Sky and The Hand, an entire building was dropped on him, which left his entire team and all his friends assuming he hadn't survived the fight. Danny Rand loosely picked up the slack left in Hell's Kitchen in Matt's wake while everyone else grieved and moved on. Little did they know, however, that Matt had actually been rescued from the rubble and taken to a convent to be nursed back to health.
So, yeah. There's a lot going on. Daredevil's life has never been what you'd call easy, but coming into Season 3, he's playing a whole new ball game. But, at the very least, we do have some idea of what we should expect.
When is it coming out?
Daredevil Season 3's Netflix release date is October 19th. Like every other Netflix MCU show, Daredevil Season 3 will be primed for binge watching, so clear your schedules and get ready for a midnight sprint to the finish line.
Who are the villains?
We know that fan-favorite Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'onofrio) is making his return after spending Season 2 in jail, so expect a major showdown there. But we also know he won't be coming for Matt alone. At New York Comic Con, it was finally confirmed that Wilson Bethel would be playing Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter, AKA the infamous Bullseye, one of Daredevil's most lethal foes over in the comics.
Season 3 will be an origin story for Poindexter, Bethal said during the Daredevil panel, and feature his slow decline from FBI agent to full on super villain.
What is Fisk's plan?
After being sent away to jail by Daredevil in Season 1, Fisk is harboring a personal vendetta against everything Matt Murdock stands for. His plan in Season 3 is to ruin the Devil of Hell's Kitchen from the ground up by smearing his reputation and making the public see him as a murderer and a monster. To do this, as we've seen in the trailers, Fisk will be using Bullseye, dressed in a replica Daredevil costume, running around New York committing crimes.
Who is Sister Maggie?
Matt's life was saved by a mysterious nun we now know is Sister Maggie, played by Joanne Whalley. We know from the comics that Sister Maggie is actually Matt's long lost mother who divorced Matt's father and was taken in by the church, though it's not yet clear whether the show will keep her backstory the same. Maggie became a nun and lost all contact with her family, meaning we can expect she and Matt's reunion to be strained at best.
Where are Karen and Foggy?
They'll be here. Karen was featured in The Punisher Season 1, and has since been slowly convincing herself that maybe, possibly, Matt is alive. Foggy has been working for Jerry Hogarth and appeared in both Jessica Jones Season 2 and Luke Cage Season 2. He, however, is much less convinced than Karen that might might still be kicking around.
Where is Claire Temple?
Claire, sadly, will not be around. After a prominent feature in Luke Cage Season 2, Claire is taking a break from the complication of superhero life in New York City--and actor Rosario Dawson has no real plans to return to the MCU any time soon.
What about Frank Castle, Elektra, and the other Defenders?
Cameos from the other corners of the Netflix MCU are still up in the air, but probably unlikely. Elektra is still, officially, "dead" from the finale of Defenders--though she is known for her affinity for resurrection, so there's still a chance. Frank has had very little to do with any of the Defenders at all since his appearance in Daredevil Season 2, so he probably won't be coming back. Other cameos from Matt's superheroic teammates aren't entirely out of the realm of possibility--but we don't have much reason to hope for them right now.
What's going on with Matt, really?
After his near death experience, Matt isn't having a great time. Remember that aside from his super senses, Matt's still just a normal guy--this means no healing factor, no super strength, and no super speed. He's been hurt badly and is in the process of trying to recover. After (or, knowing Matt, during) that recovery process, he's going to go back to wearing his plain black suit and mask from Season 1--while Bullseye co-opts the red devil horns this time around.
Is it based on any comics?
From what we can tell, Daredevil Season 3 is going to be borrowing elements of the "Born Again" story arc which took place in the early '80s between Daredevil #227 and #233. It also looks like it's going to use some of the early Bullseye stories from issues like Daredevil #284 "The Outsider" and Daredevil #191 "Roulette."
Though, as with any MCU adaptation, these versions of comic book story lines are probably going to be heavily modified to work in the live-action universe--so don't expect a one-to-one translation.
October is almost over, and November is almost here. That means Amazon Prime Video will have plenty of new movies, TV series, and original programming for its subscribers to watch. On top of the traditional fair, Amazon is also offering NFL games, streaming live on Thursday nights.
Easily the best movie coming to Amazon on November 1 is the 1985 classic Weird Science. In the John Hughes film, a couple of high school nerds use computer technology to create what they think is the perfect woman. Somehow, their creation comes to life, but she ends up making them better and more confident people. While the technology in the movie may not speak well to a younger, contemporary audience, the themes of fitting in and being cool still hold true today.
Speaking of coming-of-age movies, the 1991 feature My Girl is also headed to Amazon on November 1. Anna Chlumsky plays Vada, a young girl who is about to become a teenager and living with her widowed mortician father. She learns a bit about life and relationships with her friend Thomas, played by Macaulay Culkin. Sure, it's more of a family drama, but there are still some fun, comedic moments that make this a classic flick.
If horror is your thing, there are a few solid choices for November. On November 1, Candyman: Day of the Dead, Hostel, and Child's Play all arrive to Amazon. Yes, it's a weak month for horror, but you may want to mark your calendars for November 15 when Season 3 of Syfy's The Expanse hits Amazon, as it is a spectacular series.

Challenges for Season 6, Week 4 of Fortnite: Battle Royale are now live, and you can read about what you'll need to do to complete them in this challenge list. Of them, there are a couple that look like they're going to be trickier than the rest, most notably the Battle Pass challenge that asks players to "get a score of 3 or more at different Shooting Galleries." The difficult part is actually finding the galleries' locations if you're not very familiar with the island, so we've put together a guide to point you in the right direction. Here's where to go and what to do.
The actual objects you're looking for in the environment are red targets that appear when you stand on pressure-sensitive plates. You'll be able to spot the locations by the more obvious scoreboard and signs that are placed nearby. There are a total of five spots that you'll need to hit, and you need to shoot at least three at each one. We recommend having a precision weapon like an assault rifle, as the targets can be quite small. You'll be able to find these targets at the areas below, so head to these locations, stand on the pressure plate, and gun down those targets--that's all it takes. You can use the map below for specific locations and watch the video above to see us complete the challenge.
Fortnite Season 6, Week 4 Shooting Gallery Locations
Outside Viking Village
Slightly east of Risky Reels
West of the race track by Lonely Lodge (look for the hill)
West of Fatal Fields
East side of Wailing Woods (amongst the trees)
The latest Fortnite update, 6.10, is now available across all platforms and introduces the Quadcrasher, a two-seater vehicle with a boost function that allows it to destroy structures. If you're playing Fortnite on a PS4 Pro connected to a 4K TV, the patch also enables the game to display at 1440p instead of 1080p. The other big addition is the new "Events" tab, and this serves as an in-game hub for tournaments. If you haven't already done them, we've got guides for previous weeks of Fortnite's Season 6 challenges here.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is off to a big start. Activision announced that it achieved $500 million in sell-through in the first three days, along with high player counts that show the franchise's popularity is still going strong. That estimate includes retail and digital sales along with season passes. This follows word that in the UK, it broke digital sales records even as physical sales were down.
In the first three days, Activision boasts that Black Ops 4 set a new franchise record on current-gen consoles for most combined players, average hours per player, and total number of hours played. That figure may imply that a prior Call of Duty had higher numbers on the last generation, or when the generations were split, but it's still an impressive achievement.
It also found that the combined number of players across all three of its modes during those initial three days tops the same period for Call of Duty: WW2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. That's a favorable comparison for the direction of Black Ops 4, which traded a traditional single-player campaign for the new Blackout mode. This serves as solid basis to believe the trade-off was worth it.
Activision's move towards Blizzard's Battle.net is showing signs of growth too, as PC players more than doubled year-over-year in the first three days. This is the first Call of Duty to use Battle.net, after Activision opened the door of the partnership Destiny 2. Finally, it set a new day one record for digital full game sales on the PlayStation Store and a record for the best-selling Activision digital game on Xbox One.
Black Ops 4 presents three multiplayer modes--traditional competitive multiplayer, Zombies, and the new battle royale Blackout, without a traditional single-player campaign. The decision was an experiment for the series, but critics on the whole seem to either appreciate the change or don't mind the missing mode. In GameSpot's Black Ops 4 review, Kallie Plagge addressed the change. "Sure, there isn't a traditional single-player campaign, but with the depth and breadth of what is there, Black Ops 4 doesn't need it," she said.
Carol Danvers' origin story has never been what you would call simple. She's not an orphan from an alien planet or the victim of a radioactive spider bite. Instead, since her '60s debut, it's been explained she was a human who was caught in a terrible accident, which--thanks to the miraculous powers of comic book science--fused her DNA with alien Kree genetic code and granted her superpowers.
We've been assuming that Brie Larson's live-action version of the character will be taking a similar path. However, the first Captain Marvel trailer, which implies Carol might not even remember her time as a human at first and recent developments on the comic book side of Carol's life, have given us a pretty good indication that that will not be the case. Carol's got a brand new origin story to work with, and it's likely setting the stage for her MCU debut.
The Life Of Captain Marvel by Margaret Stohl and Carlos Pacheco is a five issue miniseries designed to shed some new light on Carol's early years--not necessarily by revisiting them directly but by allowing modern Carol to return home and unbury some "skeletons" in her closet. It just so happens that some of these skeletons aren't quite ready to be laid to rest.
In this week's issue #4, Carol learned in no uncertain terms that her mother has been keeping a secret from her for her entire life, and it changes everything Carol thought she knew about the origins of her powers. It turns out that the accident was never at fault. Instead, Carol's mother, Marie, has secretly been a Kree soldier on Earth this entire time. Marie--or rather, Mari-Ell--had been on a routine detail canvasing Earth for the Kree empire when she was blown off course and crashed into Boston harbor, where she was rescued by Carol's human father, Joe. The two fell in love and, despite the Empire's strict rules against such a union, were married.
The explosion and accident still happened when Carol was growing up, but rather than infuse her with Kree DNA, it "activated" her innate half-Kree abilities which Marie explains come about in times of extreme stress or danger as a self defense mechanism. Most young Kree are just aware that their powers are there from birth and are made to activate them deliberately, whereas Carol had been kept in the dark and did it by mistake.
Oh, and it turns out "Carol" is just her human name--like Marie is actually Mari-Ell, Carol is actually Car-Ell. So, that's a whole thing, too.
All things considered, Carol takes this revelation pretty well. As Marie puts it, the only real change (you know, aside from the massive family secret coming to life) is that Carol gets to know her powers actually belong to her now. They weren't an accident or a fluke, they weren't borrowed from someone else, and they were in her from the beginning. It's a pretty hopeful message to take away.
So what does that mean for the MCU version of the origin story? Well, while it's still too early to call whether or not there will be a direct adaptation for the big screen, we can assume that Larson's Captain Marvel is probably not going to get her powers from an accidental radioactive explosion. This is actually more of a revelation than you might expect. The original explosion linked Carol directly to the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell, who had been uncover on Earth at the time. He and Carol had become close, which eventually resulted in Carol getting wrapped up in all the secret Kree goings on at the time. Had she and Mar-Vell never met, Carol would have never been near the accident site and, likely, never become a hero.
Even after she'd been empowered, in the original version of events she spent a considerable amount of time working with Mar-Vell under the code name Ms. Marvel, before she eventually took over the Captain title.
Without the need for Mar-Vell's direct involvement in Carol's early life, it seems likely the MCU is going to bypass the Ms. Marvel phase entirely and, most likely, deal with Carol's abilities awakening on their own--or via some other unrelated stress. However, whether or not that means we're going to learn Carol's mom was secretly a Kree soldier is still up for debate. It certainly does seem like a much less scientifically dubious way to explain things than inadvertent genetic modification, but when has dubious science ever stopped a Marvel movie?
Also, the decreased importance of Mar-Vell in this new origin would further support the steadily growing assumption that Jude Law won't be playing Mar-Vell on the big screen after all. Without the direct need for Mar-Vell as a story catalyst, the door for Law's role is blown wide open, making room for all kinds of new possibilities. And, with Ben Mendelsohn confirmed as Talos, rather than villainous Kree zealot Yon-Rogg as fans had previously guessed, it seems like that could be as good a place as any for Law to land.
Microsoft has announced four Xbox One backwards compatible games have been X-enhanced. This means that these Xbox 360 titles run at a higher resolution and nine times the original pixel count on an Xbox One X.
All four games--Portal: Still Alive, Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2--are developed by Valve. When all is said and done, it's technically five games, as Half Life 2: The Orange Box is a combined collection of Half-Life 2, Portal: Still Alive, and Team Fortress 2. You can buy the games digitally from the Xbox Store or use the original Xbox 360 discs. The addition of these four games brings the number of Xbox One backwards compatible X-enhanced titles to 21, a list that also includes games like Red Dead Redemption and Skate 3.
First releasing in 2007--as part of Valve's The Orange Box bundle--Portal: Still Alive is a 3D puzzle platformer that focuses on a battle of wits between the silent protagonist Chell and the psychopathic A.I. antagonist GLaDOS. Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 have had long-standing effects on the video game industry, such as the former playing a huge part in the success of Steam's launch and the latter inspiring titles like Overwatch. The Left 4 Dead series temporarily revitalized interest in zombie video games with campaigns centered around teamwork-based first-person shooter combat and a multiplayer horde mode.
Starting today, four more Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles will be enhanced for Xbox One X. Enjoy playing Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, Portal: Still Alive, Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2 with enhanced visuals and higher resolutions on Xbox One X https://t.co/7q7myPS0gCpic.twitter.com/bdUjeDvnhG
All of these games have received near perfect scores on GameSpot for their impressive gameplay and well written stories. In our Portal: Still Alive review, we gave the game a 9/10. In our Half-Life 2 review, we gave the game a 9.2/10. In our Team Fortress 2 review, we gave the game an 8/10. In our reviews for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, we gave the former an 8.5/10 and the latter a 9/10.
We're reached the midway point of the the new month, and there remains plenty of new streaming releases. Media giant Netflix is launching a plethora of new content on its streaming service throughout the month. Starting on the first of October, new movies, TV series, and Netflix originals will continue trickling out onto the service, with new content being added pretty much daily. It can be a lot to go through, but don't worry, we will be highlighting some choice picks for you to check out. Here's what new on Netflix for October 2018.
Returning for a second season is the adult animated comedy Big Mouth. Comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney star as two adolescent boys going through puberty. The raunchy series has the duo trying to understand life, girls, and everything else while dealing with hormone monsters and uncomfortable moments in early sexuality. It's out now.
Speaking of returning Netflix originals, Castlevania comes back for a second helping on October 26. The series follows Trevor Belmont as he fights the evil forces of Dracula. Season 1 writer Warren Ellis returns, picking up on the huge cliffhanger from last year with Alucard. This season will add more episodes for a total of eight, doubling up from Season 1's four.
As far as movies and television go, October 1 saw Netflix release most of its content. Out of everything that hit that day, you'll want to watch/rewatch the classic '80s adventure movie The NeverEnding Story or the first rated-R Marvel movie that matters--sorry, Dolph Lundgren's The Punisher--Blade. Additionally, Blade II will be available as well. Also, Season 4 of Gotham is coming to Netflix as well, and you can see just how crazy this series has become for yourself.
Sadly, there are a few great items leaving the service as well. The fantastic comedy series Freaks and Geeks left on October 1, along with Sin City and The Lost Boys. Even though Halloween is right around the corner, The Babadook is headed out on October 14 and V/H/S 2 leaves on October 24.
Check out the complete list of everything coming and going from Netflix below, and if you're looking for more news from streaming services, we have complete October arrivals lists from Hulu and Amazon Prime Video as well.

This week, a ton of Netflix Original series and movies arrive on the streaming service. You won't be able to see many of them before Friday, but there are a few new shows to watch while you wait.
The second season of Netflix's popular anime about the seven cursed knights who protect the fictional land of Britannia is back. The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments sees the demon Meliodas, giantess Diane, fairy King, immortal Ban, wizard Merlin, and living doll Gowther reunite with Escanor, the Sin of Pride, to once again defend the kingdom with the help of the princess Elizabeth and talking pig Hawk. No longer criminals, the Seven Deadly Sins use their newfound freedom to fulfill promises they each made to friends and family long ago, as well as battle the group of demons that represent the ten Biblical Commandments. For more anime coming to Netflix this month--as well as Crunchyroll, Funimation, Amazon, and HIDIVE--check out our fall 2018 anime guide.
A huge assortment of series and movies are coming to Netflix on Friday. Most notable is Marvel's Daredevil Season 3, which sees Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, once again go up against Wilson Fisk. Although he was the major villain of Season 1, Fisk was regulated to a background role in Season 2. Vincent D'Onofrio has already provided chilling performances as the Kingpin of Crime in Season 3's trailers, and his return seems to plunge Matt into one of the darkest MCU stories told yet. Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll return to reprise their roles as Matt Murdock and Karen Page respectfully, and Wilson Bethel joins the cast to portray Bullseye, one of Daredevil's most iconic villains.
Below, you'll find the list of every new series, movie, and Original coming to Netflix this week, and you can check out the full list of October add-ons if you want a peek at what's to come--it includes Castlevania Season 2.

When players finally complete the new Haunted Forest event in Destiny 2's Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost, they're greeted by the usual: a loot chest that holds all their hard-earned winnings. The trouble is, the walkway between players and the chest gives out almost as soon as their feet touch it, tossing them into a frightening, blood red pit below. Inside: an unkillable Hive Knight called The Invincible Nightmare.
It's a fighting twist to the horror-themed activity. Instead of getting your loot, you get stuck with an unkillable monster, like that moment in every slasher movie when the killer inevitably isn't actually dead, and gets in one final scare. The trouble with the pit, though, is that at first blush, it seems to rob you of everything you fought for in the Haunted Forest, and makes it seem like there's no way to reach the reward chest.
The good news is, even if you don't open the chest at the end of the Haunted Forest, you still get your winnings. They're automatically sent to the Postmaster, just like the stuff from chests in just about any other activity. Once you've earned rewards in the Haunted Forest, they're yours, no matter what condition you're left in by the Invincible Nightmare.
Just because you fall into the Nightmare's pit doesn't mean you're stuck there, though. There's actually a secret escape out of the pit on one of the walls. Look up about midway to one side of the pit and you'll see a small indentation that marks a hole you players can leap through. It takes you out of the pit and onto the side of the bridge under which it hides. Following the narrow pathway from there allows you to climb back up onto the far side of the bridge and claim your loot chest, while also giving you a second to let your heart stop pounding.
It's also possible to avoid falling into the pit altogether, if you're quick. When the stones of the walkway give out beneath Guardians as they cross, they're pulled down thanks to a sort of suction, but it's possible to jump free with the right timing (or, at least, with the triple jump of the Hunter class). You can also stick to the side edges of the bridge and potentially avoid any tricky cobblestones altogether.
If Bungie is following the usual horror movie script with the Haunted Forest, the question now becomes one of how to kill the Invincible Nightmare, like the characters of a Friday the Thirteenth or Halloween movie might try to do. Like all good slasher movies, though, even if players successfully take the Nightmare down, we'll all still be wondering if it's really dead.
The first season of Netflix's Castlevania show was really more of a teaser than a full season. Over just four short episodes, it established the main characters and conflict and gave us a taste of the action, with the promise of more to come at a later date. In the portion of Castlevania Season 2 sent to press--six of the eight new episodes--that promise has yet to be fulfilled.
Castlevania Season 2 follows characters on two fronts: Dracula's court, and the small crew fighting against him. The latter consists of familiar faces: Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage), Alucard (James Callis), and Sypha (Alejandra Reynoso), all of whom we met in Season 1. Like much of Castlevania, the chemistry among the trio has potential, but it's yet to bear fruit, even three quarters of the way through Season 2. Unfortunately, they spend almost the entire first six episodes simply sequestered away in a massive library researching ways to take Dracula down.
That probably sounds boring--because it is. And it's made even more so by the distinct lack of action; where Alucard and Trevor clashed blades at the end of Season 1, now they're content to simply trade childish barbs, much to Sypha's (and likely the audience's) frustration. Granted, they are on the same side now, but their dynamic gets old quickly.
Belmont and crew's preparatory storyline is really the B plot so far this time around, as the meat of Castlevania Season 2 follows Dracula (Graham McTavish)--or, more accurately, those in his vampire war council, since the Dark Lord himself does literally nothing in all the episodes we've seen so far. There's one medium length flashback in which he massacres a council of merchants who offended him, but it's not like that moves the story along. Dracula is actually extremely morose and depressed throughout Season 2 so far--an enormous sea change from his force-of-nature rage in Season 1, the reason for which is unclear, since these episodes seem to pick up shortly after the last batch.
Instead, we follow the intrigue in Dracula's court, which includes the bulk of new characters we meet: Godbrand, a hilariously brutish, hard-living, hard-killing vampire lord voiced with relish by the distinctive Peter Stormare; Carmella, a power-hungry female vampire who immediately starts to question Dracula's rule; and the human-hating-humans Hector and Isaac, who Dracula appoints to lead his war effort. This doesn't go over well with Godbrand, and Carmella seeks her own ends, so there's no end of drama among Dracula's generals.
Hector and Isaac are particularly well fleshed out, as we get flashbacks and monologues that describe both why they hate other humans, and how they came to be in Dracula's service. Isaac is a former slave whose master was excessively cruel, while Hector is a "Forge Master" who uses magic to imbue dead things with life, making him the architect of Dracula's demon army. There are other vampires among the war council, and they certainly look cool during the handful of action scenes they take part in during these episodes, but they're not named or fleshed out.
One thing Castlevania Season 2 definitely does have is buildup. All the intrigue and tension is leading somewhere--there's never doubt of that. By the end of the sixth episode, with just two more to go, the pieces seem to finally be falling into place. Belmont is fighting demons, Sypha is doing magic, and Dracula is--well, Dracula is still brooding, but the rest of his forces are finally at war. The action is still creatively executed, and fights look cool.
But with eight episodes instead of just four, there was hope that Castlevania Season 2 would feel like more of a complete thing. Instead, it feels more like Season 1 was the first act, and this is simply a continuation, and the extra room has been spent developing new characters while the old ones tread water. We'll learn for sure whether it will all lead to a satisfying conclusion when Castlevania Season 2 hits Netflix on October 26.
Treyarch has released another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Whereas the previous patch focused primarily on fixing PC crashes on top of bumping up the player count for Duos and Quads in Blackout, this one is available on all platforms and has to do with Zombies mode.
As Treyarch outlined on Reddit, the new Zombies-related patch makes "significant stability fixes across all Zombies maps." Additionally, it addresses issues with Zombies' Easter Egg quests, although the developer didn't go into any further details beyond that.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has only been available for a few days, but Treyarch is continuing to monitor the game and implement improvements regularly. The developer revealed some other issues it is currently looking into, such as irregular vehicle behavior and a bug that would cause consoles to freeze when looting Death Stashes. You can read more in Treyarch's patch notes.
Despite only launching on October 12, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has already proven to be a big success for Activision, breaking the publisher's record for "biggest day-one digital release," a distinction previously held by last year's Call of Duty: WWII. It seems physical sales aren't quite as strong, however; according to GamesIndustry, Black Ops 4's first-weekend physical sales in the UK were the lowest in the series since 2007.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game has been warmly received by critics. GameSpot awarded it an 8/10 in our Black Ops 4 review, writing, "Black Ops 4 isn't short on content, and its three main modes are substantial."
One of Fortnite's challenges for Season 6, Week 4 involves getting your dance on while being on top of a Clock Tower. By doing this you'll earn yourself some experience but, more importantly, you'll get the Battle Stars needed to level up your Battle Pass and get those sweet, sweet cosmetics. To do this specific challenge, you'll actually need to own a Battle Pass, as it's exclusive to those players that do. As it stands, we're only aware of one Clock Tower, so here's where you'll need to go to find it and what to do to ensure you've completed the challenge.
The Clock Tower in question can be found at Tilted Towers. If you're flying in, get your glider out and it's very easy to spot in the southwestern corner. Of course, you'll need to aim for the very top of it, but if you flub the landing and end up at the bottom, you can always build your way there. One thing to note is that the roof of the clock tower can be destroyed, which makes it considerably easier to land in, but planting yourself on top of a non-busted clock tower isn't difficult either. Once you're in or on the clock tower, bring up your emote wheel and bust some moves.
Once that's done you'll need to dance on top of a Pink Tree. You'll find one of these at the centre of Lucky Landing. The strategy is the same here: land on top of it, and do a little jig. Sadly, you might find that people are trying to--or already have--cut down the tree, in which case you'll need to quit out and jump into another match to try again.
For the third part of this challenge head to Flush Factory, where you'll have to dance on top of a Porcelain Throne. If you hadn't figured it out, that's a fancy way of saying "toilet." Once that's done, you should be finished. Just keep an eye out for the pop-up that confirms that the challenge has been completed. You can see all three locations in the images above.
The other difficult challenge for the week asks players to go to five shooting galleries and score three points at each one. There's a bunch of shooting galleries scattered around the island, but if you're not familiar with their locations you may end up running around aimlessly. We've put together a map of exactly where you need to go to find the targets in our Shooting Gallery location guide.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 6 rolls on, and new challenges continue to roll out on all platforms--PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Those feed into the latest Battle Pass, and as with previous seasons, you level that up by playing the game and completing challenges. Every week there will be a new set of tasks for players to complete that unlock Battle Stars and level up the Battle Pass to unlock goodies.
Like in Season 5, weekly challenges are split into two categories. The first is a free set, which are available to all Fortnite players, while the second is for Battle Pass owners. To get a Battle Pass you'll need to cough up 950 V-Bucks in game. If you haven't bought the Battle Pass, you'll be able to complete certain objectives and earn some rewards, but some of the coolest unlocks are locked behind the paid Battle Pass, so if you plan on sinking lots of time into Fortnite, we recommend picking that up.
Although you can pick up a Battle Pass later and go back to unlock any premium rewards you've earned based on the tier that you've already reached, there is one major advantage in doing it at the start of the season. Namely that you'll get bonus XP, which is dished out for just playing the game either alone or with buddies. This XP levels you up and translates to Battle Stars that also level up your pass, so it may be a good idea to get in early if you can.
Alongside the standard challenges, there are also Hunting Party challenges for those who buy the Battle Pass. These operate similarly to the Blockbuster and Road Trip objectives of past seasons, where each one tasks you with completing all challenges from a single week during the season. The reward for each is a loading screen that reveals the location of a hidden Battle Pass tier you can then obtain. Additionally, by completing seven of these, you'll earn a Legendary skin that will remain a mystery for now.
Each week we'll have guides on the trickiest challenges to make things quicker and easier for you. However, this article will serve as a hub for all our guides so, as the season goes on, you'll be able to keep coming back here to get the latest guides as well as ones for previous weeks. This will be especially helpful if you decided to pick up a Battle Pass part of the way into the season. If you're wondering if it's worth the effort, you can take a look at all of Fortnite Season 6's new skins, cosmetics, emotes, sprays, and other items to unlock in this gallery of Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass rewards.

We hope you're ready for minor system performance enhancements, because Sony has released a new PS4 firmware patch. Beyond the generic, single patch note, it's unclear precisely what this update, version 6.02 does. Either way, the update is available now.
The patch weighs in at 447.4 MB, and it's a mandatory download. Sony states the update "improves system performance," but it's possible this patch is the one that fixes a recent issue that caused many PS4s to enter a crash loop.
That bug allowed malicious users to send a message containing special characters that would crash your PS4. Sony has since stated the issue has been fixed, and advised anyone still affected to delete the malicious message via the PSN app.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that grants Xbox One owners access to a large selection of games for a $10 monthly subscription fee. One of the killer features of the service is that you get to play Microsoft-published games like Forza Horizon 4 the day they come out. But it's not limited to first-party games. From time to time a third-party game will be free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch as well. Such is the case with the new dark, horror-themed game Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption which, purchased separately, sells for $19.
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is an action-RPG that's available for Xbox One, as well as PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Instead of large levels filled with regular enemies to fight, the focus here is on eight big boss battles. The first seven of these bosses represent the seven deadly sins and can be tackled in any order, Mega Man-style. The catch is that you must sacrifice one of your skills before each match.
The battles themselves play out much like the boss fights in Dark Souls or Bloodborne, with your character facing off against terrifying enemies many times his size. Combat largely revolves around slashing and dodging, while paying close attention and reacting to the bosses' attack patterns in order to survive.
Xbox Game Pass offers over 100 games that subscribers can download and play for as long as they're available on the service. Non-subscribers can begin with a 14-day free trial before the subscription cost kicks in. Note that you'll still need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play games online. You can sign up here.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is fast approaching, and you can be prepared to venture into the Old West by having it loaded and ready to go for launch. Alongside a new launch trailer, Rockstar has announced that pre-loading will begin on Friday, October 19 at 12 AM ET, or 9 PM PT on Thursday.
In the tweet announcing the pre-load timing, the studio also gave word that the launch trailer will debut on Thursday at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT. That should be our last long look at the game before its launch next Friday, October 26. Rockstar is giving plenty of time for the pre-load, which makes sense given that its install size is huge.
Pre-loading also means you pre-ordered, which will net you a cash bonus for the story mode, and some bonus GTA$ for Grand Theft Auto Online. Those who pre-ordered by July 31 will also get a treasure map for a head-start on making their fortune on the frontier. The physical editions come with a wide variety of bonuses, including physical items in the Special and Ultimate editions. A separate Collector's Box, which doesn't include the game, comes with a bunch of tchotchkes like a pin set, bandana, playing cards, and tithing box with lock and key. You can read more details in our pre-order guide.

It appears Rockstar has crafted a massive open world to explore, with no shortage of activities and detail. You can fish and hunt, your clothes will degrade, and dialogue will shift based on your personal hygiene. Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser estimates it has 500,000 lines of dialogue.
All that ambition appears to have come at a cost, though, as Houser also stated that the studio has had 100-hour work weeks to deliver on the promise. He later clarified that he was referring only to a few senior members of the team having intensive writing sessions, and that the studio doesn't expect such long hours from its team as a whole.
We are now in Season 6, Week 4 of Fortnite and that means there's a new batch of challenges to undertake, Battle Stars to earn, and cosmetics to unlock. If you want to level up your Battle Pass, here are all the challenges you'll need to get done. As always, while anyone can do the challenges in the Free section, four of the week's challenges will only be available to players who have paid for a Battle Pass.
In the free section, players will need to use a Port-a-Fort or Port-a-Fortress (currently disabled) in five different matches, search an Ammo Box in seven different named locations, and then ring the doorbell of a house with an opponent inside in three different matches. On the paid Battle Pass side, there's a mixture of simple and tricky challenges to do. The first two involves landing at Greasy Grove and dancing on a Clock Tower (find it in Tilted Towers), followed by two other locations (a pink tree and porcelain throne). The remaining two challenges task players with getting a score of three or more at five different Shooting Galleries, and also killing three enemies near one of the Corrupted areas. Take a look at all the challenges, as well as their rewards, below.

Fortnite's 6.10 update is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. It adds the Quadcrasher into the mix, and this two-seater vehicle is pretty handy for smashing through structures thanks to its boost function. "You build boost just by driving," Epic Games explains. "[Then] unleash that speed with the hotkey once you've filled your boost meter."
The patch also allows those playing on a PlayStation 4 Pro connected to a 4K TV to display the game at 1440p instead of 1080p. The other major new addition is the new "Events" tab, where players will find in-game tournaments. Read the full Fortnite 6.10 update patch notes for more details
Fortnite's popularity continues to soar, and the latest celebrity to be drawn to it is Ellen DeGeneres, who had well known streamer Ninja on her talk show. As one of the most well-known Fortnite players around, Ninja was brought in to teach Ellen how to play which, if we're honest, didn't go well, but they seemed to be having fun and that's what matters. To get some tips from us, use our Fortnite Season 6 challenge guide to get Battle Stars from previous weeks' challenges.
Fortnite: Battle Royale's challenges for Week 3 of Season 6 are now available, which means it's time to get back on the grind and get those precious Battle Stars. Here's what's on tap for this week if you're interested in quickly leveling up your Battle Pass. [Update: Week 4 challenges are also now available, and you'll be dealing with shooting galleries and dancing on a clock tower, among other locations.]
In the free to everyone section, this week's challenges involve reviving a player in five different matches, getting one Damage Trap elimination, and starting the multi-stage challenge by searching a chest in Lonely Lodge. That's all self-explanatory, though the Damage Trap elimination may take some perseverance.
In the paid Battle Pass section, there's some trickier ones, the first of which is a multi-stage challenge that begins with visiting Risky Reels and Wailing Woods in a single match. On top of that you'll need to hit a player with a Tomato from 15m or more away, eliminate an opponent in 10 different matches, and complete timed trials. Take a look at all the challenges for Season 6, Week 3 at the bottom of this story.
As a refresher, completing these challenges reward you with Battle Stars which, in turn, level up your Battle Pass and allow you to unlock the sweet, sweet cosmetics for your character. Challenges are available in two sets, with one for all players to do and another just for those that have paid for a Battle Pass.
These aren't the only challenges that are available to do this week, as developer Epic Games has also rolled out a set of Halloween-themed unlocks to acquire. While the Skull Trooper (Male), Skull Ranger (Female) skin, Skull Sickle Harvesting Tool, and Crypt Cruiser Glider are available to purchase in store, in order to get the Ghost Portal Back Bling you'll need to complete the Skull Trooper Challenges.
It's been a busy week for Fortnite as, along with the two sets of challenges, Epic has also launched Fortnite Update 6.02. This new patch introduces a Limited-Time Mode called Disco Domination as well as the new Quad Launcher weapon. You can read all about those, as well as the other tweaks and changes made, in the Fortnite 6.02 patch notes.

Between its sprawling world and sheer range of activities to do, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a huge game, and you'll need to have quite a bit of space on your console to install it. Rockstar has opened a support page for the upcoming title on its website, confirming its file size on PS4 and Xbox One--and it's even larger than previously estimated.
According to the support page, Red Dead Redemption 2 weighs in at 99 GB on PS4. You'll need to have even more room if you're going digital, as the installation process will require an additional 50 GB on top of that. Xbox One owners, meanwhile, will need to have 107 GB to install the game.
There has been much speculation over how big Red Dead Redemption 2's size is, although all previous estimates have indicated that it was going to be quite hefty. The box for the Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Pro bundle suggested it was going to be 105 GB, while the Microsoft Store listed it as approximately 88 GB.
If you're purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2 digitally, you'll be able to pre-load it starting tonight, October 18, at 9 PM PT (12 AM ET on Friday). You'll get other benefits for pre-ordering the game, such as the Ardennes War Horse, Outlaw Survival Kit, extra cash in Red Dead Redemption 2's story mode, and bonus GTA$ for Grand Theft Auto V's GTA Online mode. You can read more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. Rockstar has just released the game's launch trailer, which you can watch here. For more, be sure to check out our latest Red Dead Redemption 2 impressions.
Microsoft has been rolling out backwards compatible games for Xbox One on a near-weekly basis, and that continues this week with another new batch of BC titles. Three more Xbox 360 games are now playable on the current-gen console, and this time, they all hail from Crytek's critically acclaimed first-person shooter series, Crysis.
All three main installments in the series--Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3--can now be played on Xbox One. Renowned for their stunning, cutting-edge visuals, each game casts players in the role of a Nanosuit-clad soldier battling against alien invaders known as Ceph. The original in particular is widely regarded as one of the best first-person shooters of its time; GameSpot awarded the Xbox 360 version an 8/10 in our original Crysis review, in which we wrote, "It's absolutely attractive on its new platforms. More importantly, shooting humans and aliens amid lush jungle foliage and frigid ravines is as entertaining as ever."
If you still have a physical copy of any of the titles around, you can simply pop the disc into your Xbox One to initiate a download, allowing you to begin playing. If you've owned any of the games digitally, they'll automatically show up in the Ready to Download section of the console's My Games and Apps menu. All three are also available to purchase from the Microsoft Store for $20 each.
Since Microsoft first introduced Xbox One's backwards compatibility feature, more than 400 Xbox 360 titles and 30 original Xbox games have been made playable on the console. You can see all of the BC titles in our full list of backwards compatible games. If you need recommendations on which ones to revisit, be sure to also check out our gallery of the best Xbox One backwards compatible games.
HBO's acclaimed fantasy show Game of Thrones is coming to an end with its eighth and final season in 2019. It's expected to be a dramatic, action-packed season, and for the actors--at least those whose characters have survived the bloodshed--it's the end of a professional era.
Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on the show, has spoken to Vulture about his final day on set. He said his final day shooting was anti-climatic because, as with many shows and movies, Game of Thrones is filmed out of order. That's a bit of a bummer when it's your last day with a character, but Dinklage said other elements made it a better experience.
"Nothing is shot chronologically, so you don't get some big mountaintop scene or anything. It's just, "That's a wrap on Peter Dinklage,'" the actor said. "But as anticlimactic as it was, my last day was also beautifully bittersweet. A lot of people whom I love were on set that day. Even if they weren't working, they came to set, which was beautiful."
Dinklage said he tried to do the same for other Game of Thrones actors when they were filming their final scenes. The actor said he was particularly moved by the final day for one of the younger actors.
"I won't say their name or their character's name, but one of the young people on the show wrapped this past season and everybody was a wreck," Dinklage said. "This person had grown up on the show, you know? They were a child and now they were an adult. And then they're done. It's like we were witnessing this person saying good-bye to their childhood. I know Game of Thrones is just a TV show, la-di-da, but it was our life."
There is expected to be bloodshed in the final Game of Thrones season, including deaths. But what will happen with Tyrion? It's a mystery for now, but Dinklage said he's satisfied with the conclusion for his character.
"I feel very, very--I'm trying to find the right word. I think he was given a very good conclusion," he said. "No matter what that is--death can be a great way out."
The Vulture interviewer said they believed Dinklage was not necessarily suggesting that Tyrion is going to die, only that it could happen. HBO is reportedly shooting multiple endings for Game of Thrones, so even the actors may not know the fate of their characters.
The final Game of Thrones season is set to premiere sometime in 2019. Author George R.R. Martin recently said he believes the show could have run for 11, 12, or even 13 seasons, though he understands that Benioff and D.B. Weiss want to go do new things. In the meantime, there's a new game based on the series out now, Reigns: Game of Thrones.
