Bethesda has announced the minimum PC system requirements you'll need in order to run Fallout 76. You'll be able to try Fallout 76 on PC for the first time during the October 30 beta, and the progress you make will carry over into the full game when it launches.
The PC specs for Fallout 76 are more demanding than the ones for Fallout 4, so if your setup could barely run the latter, you might want to consider upgrading before playing the former. At the very minimum, you'll need to be playing on Windows 7 and running on an Intel i5 Core processor. Bethesda recommends you go Windows 8.1 or 10, though, and run the game on an Intel Core i7 processor.
The minimum and recommended PC specs can be found on Fallout 76's FAQ page, but we've listed everything you need to know below.
The second Fallout 76 beta is exclusive for Xbox One and starts on October 27 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST. This beta won't go for as long as the first one, only lasting two hours. However, another two-hour Xbox One beta will start the very next day at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. The next beta after that is the one scheduled for October 30, and it will be live for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Bethesda tweeted out that the first Xbox One beta for Fallout 76 was an "amazing start." You can watch us play through the first beta, which we thought went pretty well all things considered. We did suffer one game crash and there was a bit of trouble when we tried to join an in-game party, but we only had severe frame rate drops when there were dozens of enemies on the screen. Prior to the beta's launch, Bethesda published a statement that lag issues are to be expected.
Fallout 76 launches on November 14 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
The biggest shopping day of the year is Black Friday, and this year's monster sales event lands on November 23, which will be here before you know it. It's the time when all the biggest retailers drop prices on all kinds of items--from video games and movies to TVs and furniture--in an effort to make a killing as the holiday shopping season begins.
Just like with any situation that can put a hefty strain on your bank account, it's best to go into Black Friday prepared. We've already covered what to expect from Black Friday 2018, but below we've compiled some of the smartest ways to save as much money as possible on the things you want, while still being financially responsible.
1. Make a List Beforehand
Once the deals start to appear, it's easy to get swept up in the hype and go on a spending spree. When that happens, though, it's all too easy to end up with a pile of items you don't actually need. If you make a list of all of the items you really want before the Black Friday deals start to appear, you'll be better prepared to stick to the list and let the inessential deals pass you by, no matter how good the prices are.
2. Check the Ads
Nearly all of the big retailers that participate in Black Friday--with the exception of Amazon--release Black Friday ads a week or two before the big event. You can find these pretty easily on their websites. Take a look at the ads and make a plan for which items you want to buy, and where. Because stock can run out fast on the best deals, prioritize your purchases and plan what you want to buy and when it will be available.
3. Make a Budget
Getting great deals is a positive thing, but overextending yourself financially is not. If money is tight, a central part of your Black Friday planning should be making a budget and pledging to stick to it. Budgeting might not be the most fun or glamorous thing to do, but will help you out enormously in the long run.
4. Use Social Media
For real-time updates on when Black Friday sales go live, your best resource is social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. You can follow GameSpot Deals on Twitter to find bargains on video games, consoles, and accessories. Another great resource is SlickDeals, a sale-tracking site that surfaces the best deals in just about every product category (it has a Twitter account as well).
5. Comparison Shop
If you see a deal you want, it's always a good idea to check the item's price at other retailers before you buy. The only potential issue on Black Friday is missing out on highly sought-after items because you spent too much time looking elsewhere. So unless the deal you're considering is a doorbuster, you don't have anything to lose by exercising due diligence and comparing prices.
6. Check Price History
Unfortunately, not all of the deals you'll see on Black Friday represent top-of-the-line savings. To make sure the item you're about to buy is a good deal, it's wise to check a price history tracker like Camelcamelcamel. There, you can see how low the price has dropped in the past and how often it fluctuates, which can help you determine if now is a good time to buy.
7. Don't Get Bummed If You See a Better Deal Later
Once Black Friday rolls around, you'll see deals popping up left and right. Doorbusters will go in and out of stock, Amazon's Lightning Deals will flicker into existence before vanishing, and surprise deals will arrive at random. If you make a purchase and then see a better deal later, don't be too upset.
For one thing, you might be able to return the item you paid a higher price for. Just make sure to look at the retailer's return policy before buying at the lower price, because you might have to pay a restocking fee or cover the cost of return shipping. At that point, the better deal might not actually save you money once all is said and done.
Those are our Black Friday shopping tips. Let us know in the comments if you have tips of your own.
Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a bounty of goodies for pre-orders and its two special editions, but you'll have to wait before claiming many of them. The game's first chapter sets up many of the mechanics and story information you'll need, so you'll have to progress past at least that point before you can start to access your extras.
Keep in mind that in each of these cases, you'll also need to enter a code to enable the bonuses. Those codes can be found on slips included with your game disc. Even after entering the codes, though, the bonuses won't necessarily be accessible immediately. In case you're wondering where to find your loot, we've compiled a list of the goodies below.
War Horse -- The War Horse bonus is included with all pre-orders of Red Dead Redemption 2. It's accessible once you've progressed through the story mode enough to browse the available horses in the Stables.
Dappled Black Thoroughbred -- This special horse is included in Special and Ultimate editions. Like the War Horse, it's accessible once you can browse the Stables.
Eagle Talon Talisman and Iguana Scale Trinket -- Both of these bonuses are included in all Special and Ultimate editions, and they can be equipped at the start of Chapter 2. The Eagle Talon Talisman can be found in the Wardrobe and the Iguana Scale Trinket is in the Satchel under the Kit tab.
Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit -- This outfit is included in Special and Ultimate editions. You can access it through your Wardrobe after completing Chapter 1.
Volcanic Pistol, Pump Action Shotgun, and Lancaster Varmint Rifle -- These specialty guns are included with Special and Ultimate Editions. They can be picked up for free at any Gunsmith after completing Chapter 1.
Bank Robbery Mission and Gang Hideout -- These are both available for Special and Ultimate editions. The Del Lobos gang hideout can be found in the world during story progression. The Bank Robbery Mission will also be available through story progression, and the game will notify you when it becomes available. If you miss the opportunity, you can find it in the Story menu to replay it.
With Festival of the Lost ongoing and some welcome changes coming quite soon, Destiny 2 players have a lot going on. But one thing that doesn't change is the weekly appearance from Xur, the mysterious merchant who is back until the weekly reset on October 30 to sell an assortment of Exotic items. Here's where to find him and what he's selling.
For this visit, you'll find Xur located in the EDZ. Spawn at the Winding Cove landing zone and make your way straight ahead, past the Public Event area. Just across the road, up on the hill, is a crashed ship. Xur is found just to the right of it, and you can reach him by platforming up the nearby rocks. You can see the location in the map below.
His lineup of items consists of the same sort of things as usual: an Exotic weapon and a piece of Exotic armor for each class. The weapon is the fusion rifle Telesto, which shoots projectiles that stick to whatever they hit before exploding. It's a good time.
For armor, Titans get the Actium War Rig chest armor; this reloads ammo into your auto rifle's magazine, letting you fire it for extended periods of time (it pairs nicely with Sweet Business, the chain gun-style auto rifle). Hunters get the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps gauntlets, which reload your equipped weapon when you land a melee hit. Warlocks get the similarly named Claws of Ahamkara gauntlets, which give you a second melee charge. You might already own these armor pieces, but it could be worth buying if you have Year One versions, as the ones Xur has will have additional perks.
Claws of Ahamkara (Exotic Warlock gauntlets) -- 23 Legendary Shards
Xur also has a challenge card for adding modifiers to the Nightfall, as well as the Fated engram. This costs 97 Legendary Shards, a somewhat steep sum, but it's guaranteed to decrypt into an Exotic you don't own from Year One.
The Fated engram is a reliable way to build out your collection of Exotics, but there is some hope for that to become easier soon. Bungie has shared further details on its plans to make Exotic duplicates less common; these changes will be implemented as part of an update launching on October 30. This will also introduce various quality-of-life changes, as well as a nerf to Sleeper Simulant in Gambit.
Developer Treyarch is continuing its regular rollout of patches for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. A new update is now available for the online shooter, although this one is fairly minor, primarily introducing new playlists for Zombies mode as well as a handful of improvements specifically for the PC version of the game.
As detailed on Reddit, Treyarch has removed the Aether playlist for Zombies mode and replaced it with two separate ones featuring the Classified and Blood of the Dead maps. In terms of PC-specific updates, Treyarch has resolved a couple of bugs in Blackout mode, including one that allowed players to activate their Wingsuit frequently. The developer has also fixed an issue in Multiplayer that would cause the game to crash when changing weapon decals.
Beyond that, the Black Market is now live across all platforms. The tier-based shop first launched in Black Ops 4 last week, but it was previously only available on PS4. Now it is open to all players, as is its first limited-time event, Operation: First Strike, which gives you the chance to unlock signature weapons, gestures, and other cosmetics. You can see them in our Operation: First Strike rewards gallery.
Black Ops 4's Halloween event is also scheduled to expand to Xbox One and PC on October 27. You can unlock Halloween-themed war paints, gestures, and other cosmetics through the Black Market by playing the game. You can see some of those in our gallery.
Treyarch has been releasing a regular stream of patches and updates for Black Ops 4 since it launched earlier this month, and there are more planned to come. One aspect the studio plans to address in the near future is the game's network performance. We also have our own ideas on how Black Ops 4 can improve.

Black Friday 2018 will be here before long, and if you want to save money on holiday gifts (or, ahem, gifts for yourself), you'll want to be prepared for the year's biggest shopping event. Because if you're not prepared, you could miss out on some of the best deals available. To get you ready for Black Friday--and Cyber Monday--we've compiled everything you need to know about this year's day of sales. Let's get to it.
When Is Black Friday 2018?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, which places it on November 23 this year. But assuming this Black Friday plays out like ones in recent years, many of the sales will begin on Thanksgiving or even earlier in the week. You can also expect to see sales continue over the weekend, plus even more discounts on Cyber Monday, which falls on November 26.
Because these sales have been expanding in recent years, it's worth paying attention to retailers' ads and social media posts to see when, exactly, the discounts will begin. We'll have lots of coverage for all of this year's Black Friday deals on video games, consoles, movies, and electronics, so keep your eyes here as well.
Which Retailers Participate in Black Friday?
If you're after items related to video games and movies, you'll want to pay attention to Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Kohl's, Newegg, Target, and Walmart. You'll also see big sales on digital video games through the PlayStation Store, Nintendo Eshop, Microsoft Store, Steam, the Humble Store, and Fantastical.
What Games Will Go on Sale?
You can expect to find discounts on just about every video game from the past few years this Black Friday, including recent releases. As usual, older games will generally get the biggest discounts, but doorbuster sales can drop prices surprisingly low even on newly released games.
For instance, games that came out in January and February of last year--like Resident Evil 7 and For Honor--dropped down to as low as $15 during Black Friday. Some games that were only a couple of weeks old, like Call of Duty: WWII and Need for Speed Payback, dipped as low as $30 or $40 at certain retailers.
Assuming this year's Black Friday deals plays out similarly, you can expect to see huge discounts on games from earlier in 2018, like Monster Hunter World, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5, and God of War. For games from recent months, like Octopath Traveler, Madden NFL 19, Spider-Man, and Forza Horizon 4, you might see price drops to the $30 range. Don't be surprised if you see discounts on games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 at some retailers, too.
And if you're not into physical copies of games, don't worry: there's a good chance some retailers will sell digital versions of the games at the same sale prices as the physical versions.
Consoles and Accessories Will Get Discounts Too
It's not just games that get discounted. Big retailers will be dropping prices on consoles and accessories as well. Last year, all the big retailers offered $50-$100 discounts on Xbox One and PS4 models, often throwing in a $25-$50 gift card as an added bonus. The Nintendo Switch was less than a year old during last year's Black Friday, so it didn't get discounted, but we may see that change this year. Also, most retailers offered $20 discounts on PS4 and Xbox One controllers last year.
If You See a Great Deal, Jump On It
Deals that seem too good to be true usually don't last long. Retailers only have a limited amount of stock, and with doorbuster prices, items move fast. So if you manage to find a great game at an incredible price that's in stock, buy it quickly. Otherwise you'll likely miss out.
We'll have lots of Black Friday and Cyber Monday coverage to point you toward the best deals on the biggest games and movies, as well as consoles, accessories, and electronics. Stay tuned.
Destiny 2 has improved quite a bit with the release of the game's latest big expansion, Forsaken, but there are plenty of little annoyances that persist in the game. Bungie is fixing a few of those problems with its next update, 2.0.5, including altering how Exotic weapons and items drop and making essential Masterwork Cores a lot more plentiful.
Bungie released preliminary patch notes for the update on its blog, which detail a bunch of little but significant changes coming to Destiny 2. They're all focused on improving quality of life in the game by removing irritations and making the game smoother. That includes reducing the time you'll be spending doing tedious tasks, like turning in materials to vendors and deleting inventory-clogging shaders.
Another change in the update should make the Masterwork Core system work a little better post-Forsaken. Bungie changed that system with Forsaken, making Masterwork Core items necessary to infuse weapons and armor into one another. That made choosing which weapons to infuse a more meaningful choice in Forsaken, since infusions are now more costly--but it also has been tough to find ways to earn Masterwork Cores when you need them.
Update 2.0.5 changes Masterwork Cores to Enhancement Cores and adds new ways for players to obtain them more reliably. Cores will be added as rewards to Spider bounties, which are available each week in the Tangled Shore, and in Scrapper bounties, which have a chance to appear randomly when you break down equipment you don't need.
Probably the best change in the update, though it won't come up too often for most players, is an improvement to how Exotic weapons and armor drop. Currently, Exotics appear very rarely during game activities, making them extra special when they appear--but the fun of getting some of the best loot in Destiny 2 is undercut when you receive a duplicate of an Exotic you already have. Update 2.0.5 looks to decrease the likelihood of duplicates, and removes the Exotics earned in missions from the random drop pool. That should make it much more likely to find new Exotics out in the world, rather than yet another pair of Gemini Jester pants.
There are a few more changes in the update, like increases in damage for the Wish-Ender bow and Malfeasance hand cannon, and some improvements to Trace Rifles.
You can read the full list of quality of life improvements on the Bungie blog. The update drops in Destiny 2 with the weekly reset on Tuesday, October 30.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has released, and along with it comes the mobile companion app. The app links up with your copy of the game and helps you keep track of your location with an interactive map, along with a handful of other features so you can take the Old West with you around in your pocket.
The map lets you set waypoints and track your position in real-time. Aside from that handy widget, you can also view the game journal, shop for clothing, check your game progress, and read the game manual. It also links up with Rockstar's Social Club. The app itself is free on both iOS and Android, but both versions offer a $10 in-app purchase of the official strategy guide. The social club integration may be a boon to your gang of outlaws when Red Dead Online launches next month.
If you're a no-good scoundrel in need of more creative methods of getting ahead in the world, check out our full list of known cheats. And keep in mind some of those side missions have a time limit and can expire if you don't get to them quickly enough.
To get started on the right foot, check out our list of essential tips for beginners, and refresh yourself on the story from the first game. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive and ambitious game, and as noted in our review, it stands on its own even without knowing the details of John Marston's story.
"While Red Dead Redemption was mostly focused on John Marston's story, Red Dead 2 is about the entire Van der Linde gang--as a community, as an idea, and as the death rattle of the Wild West. It is about Arthur, too, but as the lens through which you view the gang, his very personal, very messy story supports a larger tale," wrote critic Kallie Plagge. "Some frustrating systems and a predictable mission structure end up serving that story well, though it does take patience to get through them and understand why. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."
The vast obsession with Epic Games' Fortnite has already spilled into real life in the form of children everywhere frantically performing the floss dance. Soon, they'll be able to add reenacting their favorite Fortnite moments with foam darts as well as dancing, using the first Nerf blaster modeled after one of the weapons that appears in the game.
Nerf announced on Instagram that it'll soon sell a dart-flinging version of Fortnite's AR-L assault rifle. The orange and yellow toy gun has flip-up sights and a 10-dart magazine, according to Hasbro's website. It should also be pretty formidable in dart-based warfare, on account of it's motorized to shoot darts rapidly, like the in-game gun after which it's modeled.
According to Hasbro's website, the AR-L will run players $50 when it's released on June 1, 2019. It'll be the first Fortnite-based Nerf blaster the company releases, which is the result of a partnership between Epic Games and Hasbro. No other guns have been announced yet, but presumably they'll eventually run at least some of the gamut of what's available in game, which includes pistols, sniper rifles, shotguns, and more.
Creating Nerf battles with friends isn't the only way fans can bring Fortnite competition into their regular lives. Hasbro also released a Fortnite-branded version of Monopoly at the start of October. Epic Games' Worldwide Creative Director Donald Mustard showed off the art for the game on Twitter back in September, and described it as "a unique spin on the classic game mashed up with last player standing Fortnite."
If you'd rather actually play the video game version of Fortnite, there's a lot going on right now with the game's Halloween-themed event. Check out our guides for tackling Fortnite's new challenges: finding all the Flaming Hoops, and speeding past Radar Signs.
Discord announced last week the launch of its Discord Store, a PC game-buying portal that'll include its own exclusive titles. The store, created by the company behind the gamer-centric voice and text chat app of the same name, will pack games from indie developers and at least one bigger publisher, along with a few titles that are exclusive to Discord's portal.
Previously available only to Canadian players, the new global Discord Store is all about curation. The company is hoping to put games in front of players that they're more likely to want to buy and play. That curation will be carried out by the Discord team, as well as through recommendations made by players' friends on the Discord service.
According to a press release from the company, the idea is to create something more akin to a local bookstore experience for the Discord Store. That's in contrast to Valve's massively popular Steam store, which might be better compared to a big box store, or even a whole mall. Where Steam provides players with a massive catalogue of just about every game out there, Discord is hoping a more personal approach will resonate with players.
Alongside the launch of the Discord Store is a new version of Discord's Nitro monthly subscription service. The current, $5 subscription is focused on things like controlling your Discord username and offering higher resolutions for Discord's screen sharing service. The new Nitro bumps the price to $9.99 and adds a gaming component: all-you-can-play access to a catalogue of about 60 titles from partner developers like Deep Silver and Double Fine Productions. The games players get access to through Nitro include This War of Mine, Metro: Last Light Redux, Soma, Wastelanders 2: Director's Cut, INSIDE, Galactic Civilizations III, and Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition.
The catalogues of the Discord Store and Nitro seem pretty confined at the moment, which means it's not likely to threaten Steam anytime soon. But Discord might be onto something with its focus on curation. Discovery of new games is a big problem on Steam both for players and developers, especially small ones whose games are lost in the flood of titles being released. One report had it that 21 games were released on Steam every day in 2017.
Discord claims some 150 million registers users across the globe for its app, so while its store sports fewer games, it's possible the smaller, more personal approach might be an answer for developers who have trouble cutting through the noise on larger portals. Both the Discord Store and Nitro service are available to users today.
New Fortnite challenges for Week 4 of Season 6 are still available, and unlike some recent weeks, these include some trickier ones that require you to know the map well. One such challenges involves getting your dance on while being on top of a Clock Tower (followed by two other specific but vaguely named locations, the Pink Tree and Porcelain Throne). By doing this you'll earn yourself some experience but, more importantly, you'll get the Battle Stars needed to level up your Battle Pass and get those sweet, sweet cosmetics. To do this specific challenge, you'll actually need to own a Battle Pass, as it's exclusive to those players that do. As it stands, we're only aware of one Clock Tower, so here's where you'll need to go to find it and what to do to ensure you've completed the challenge.
The Clock Tower in question can be found at Tilted Towers. If you're flying in, get your glider out and it's very easy to spot in the southwestern corner. Of course, you'll need to aim for the very top of it, but if you flub the landing and end up at the bottom, you can always build your way there. One thing to note is that the roof of the clock tower can be destroyed, which makes it considerably easier to land in, but planting yourself on top of a non-busted clock tower isn't difficult either. Once you're in or on the clock tower, bring up your emote wheel and bust some moves.
Once that's done you'll need to dance on top of a Pink Tree. You'll find one of these at the centre of Lucky Landing. The strategy is the same here: land on top of it, and do a little jig. Sadly, you might find that people are trying to--or already have--cut down the tree, in which case you'll need to quit out and jump into another match to try again.
For the third part of this challenge head to Flush Factory, where you'll have to dance on top of a Porcelain Throne. If you hadn't figured it out, that's a fancy way of saying "toilet." Once that's done, you should be finished. Just keep an eye out for the pop-up that confirms that the challenge has been completed. You can see all three locations in the images above.
The other difficult challenge for the week asks players to go to five shooting galleries and score three points at each one. There's a bunch of shooting galleries scattered around the island, but if you're not familiar with their locations you may end up running around aimlessly. We've put together a map of exactly where you need to go to find the targets in our Shooting Gallery location guide.
The beta for Fallout 76 has officially begun, but as you read this, you likely can't actually play it. That's because Bethesda only has its servers available at certain times; trying to get in outside of these specific windows will yield a "login failed" error. Below, we've got all the details you need to know regarding exactly when you can play. At the time of this writing, the next tests take place on October 27 and 28 (October 29 for some regions), again only on Xbox One. Bethesda has also confirmed the first dates and times that will be open to PS4 and PC players. Read on for the full schedule.
Fallout 76's debut test was available only on Xbox One for a four-hour window on October 23. That has since passed, with Bethesda deeming it an "amazing start." Additional test periods will continue to be available for a limited time. The purpose of this is to force players together at a specific time to stress test and put the game through its paces. Sessions will typically last 4-8 hours in a given day, and then the beta will be inoperable again until the next session. The process will repeat between now and the game's release date on November 14.
A beta code is available to anyone who pre-ordered the game across Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Pre-loading is only available on Xbox One for now, since the PC and PS4 betas will begin on October 30. You'll receive a code with your physical pre-order to enter into the accounts page, or you'll be entered into the pool automatically if you pre-order a digital copy. Note that those codes don't grant you access. Rather, they put you into the potential pool of players to get a distribution code later, since Bethesda is rolling out the invites in waves.

Red Dead Redemption 2's release date has finally arrived, and you can read all about in our Red Dead 2 review. As with any game with a "2" attached to it, newcomers might be wondering if they'll understand what's going on, while returning players are eager to know if the new game will feature callbacks and references to the first game.
A number of GameSpot editors have spent considerable time with Red Dead Redemption 2 so far, and in our experience, Rockstar has done a pretty good job of making sure everybody will have a good time with this one whether you're familiar with the first game or not.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel that features an entirely new character, Arthur Morgan, in the starring role. You play as a member of the Van der Linde gang, the group of outlaws referenced in the first Red Dead Redemption and led by a man named Dutch. Characters from the first game like Bill Williamson and Javier Escuela are in your gang, while Red Dead Redemption 1 protagonist John Marston also plays a role in the story. The sequel provides clues about how John got his scar, while other characters make fun of his inability to swim.
It won't affect your enjoyment of interacting with the gang if this is your first introduction to them, but seeing them at a different point in their respective lives and witnessing the things that happen to them which ultimately shape the people they become in Red Dead Redemption 1 is a great treat for fans of the series.
As far as the game world is concerned, Red Dead Redemption 2's map includes a number of locations from the first game. We found it was fun to revisit these places, while newcomers are also in for a treat to see them for the first time and looking better than ever.
It's at the later stages of the game when returning players are rewarded for their prior investment. We won't get into spoilers here.
Whether or not you've played Red Dead Redemption 1, you should be able to enjoy the sequel. Rockstar plays the balancing act between rewarding series fans and not alienating newcomers pretty well in our experience so far.
Update: In addition to the original offer from GameStop, this deal is also available at Amazon (just add both items to your cart to see the discount), Newegg, and the Microsoft Store. It's arguably become even more tantalizing now, as a technical analysis shows that the game looks and runs best on Xbox One X. The original story follows.
Any game as big as Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably going to be a system-seller--and if you've read or watched our Red Dead Redemption 2 review, you know why. There is a nice new deal for the Xbox One family of systems to consider if you're thinking about picking up Rockstar's open-world western. If you're in the market for an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, you can save $100 if you buy Red Dead Redemption 2 from GameStop between now and November 3.
That's a killer deal for anyone who's looking to buy a new Xbox One and RDR 2 anyway. If you need help choosing between the two console models, you can check out our Xbox One S and Xbox One X reviews to get the full rundown on what features each one includes. We've also done an in-depth comparison of the models.
It's also worth noting that Red Dead Redemption 2 is an Xbox One X-enhanced game, meaning it runs in 4K and supports HDR when played on an Xbox One X connected to a TV with the corresponding features. (The S also supports HDR, but not native 4K--it's confusing).
As for the new game, it's a prequel to the 2010 original and takes place in 1899 and finds the Van der Linde gang on a crime spree in the Old West. You play as a man named Arthur Morgan this time around, though the previous game's protagonist, John Marston, also makes an appearance.
You can check out our Red Dead Redemption story recap to get yourself up to speed from a narrative perspective. And if you're ready to place your order, we have everything you need to know about what comes in each edition and how much it costs in our Red Dead Redemption 2 buying guide.
November is almost here, and that means it's almost time to spend the day gorging yourself on turkey, making sure to avoid the family you're forced to hang out with. What better way to avoid forced conversation than sitting around the television, watching Netflix, together? November is almost here, and Netflix has revealed what is coming to its service for the next month, as well as what is leaving the subscription service.
Kicking off the month, Netflix is bringing a slew of movies on Thursday, November 1. If you haven't seen it yet, you'll need to watch From Dusk Till Dawn. The 1996 action/horror film is by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino and follows two criminals on the run who take a family in an RV hostage. They all end up at a strip club in Mexico that's filled with vampires. Also coming on the first of the month is Cape Fear, Marvel's Doctor Strange, and Sixteen Candles.
If Netflix's originals are more up your alley, then you're in luck, as there are 46 movies and series coming in November. Most notable is the return of House of Cards, for Season 6, which will be its final season. This time around, Kevin Spacey won't be involved after sexual abuse allegations came out against the House of Cards star. The final season will follow Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) as the President of the United States, which was revealed in the first trailer.
There are plenty of other original series to get excited about as well. Mystery Science Theater 3000 returns for another season to make fun of some terrible, old movies, coming November 22. Also, She-Ra--He-Man's superpowered cousin--is getting a fun and bubbly reboot on November 16. Along with a new collection of The Great British Baking Show on November 9, you'll have a ton to watch.
The full the list for Netflix is below, and make sure to check out what's coming to Hulu and Amazon for the month of November as well.

We're a few days away from the start of November, and Amazon Prime Video will have many new movies, TV shows, and original series for its subscribers to watch. On top of the traditional fair, Amazon is also offering NFL games, streaming live on Thursday nights.
Easily the best movie coming to Amazon on November 1 is the 1985 classic Weird Science. In the John Hughes film, a couple of high school nerds use computer technology to create what they think is the perfect woman. Somehow, their creation comes to life, but she ends up making them better and more confident people. While the technology in the movie may not speak well to a younger, contemporary audience, the themes of fitting in and being cool still hold true today.
Speaking of coming-of-age movies, the 1991 feature My Girl is also headed to Amazon on November 1. Anna Chlumsky plays Vada, a young girl who is about to become a teenager and living with her widowed mortician father. She learns a bit about life and relationships with her friend Thomas, played by Macaulay Culkin. Sure, it's more of a family drama, but there are still some fun, comedic moments that make this a classic flick.
If horror is your thing, there are a few solid choices for November. On November 1, Candyman: Day of the Dead, Hostel, and Child's Play all arrive to Amazon. Yes, it's a weak month for horror, but you may want to mark your calendars for November 15 when Season 3 of Syfy's The Expanse hits Amazon, as it is a spectacular series.

October is almost over, and if you're a Hulu subscriber, you're probably wondering what's coming in the next month to the service. Luckily, Hulu has revealed all the TV series, movies, and original series landing on it for November.
The first of the month is when Hulu dumps plenty of new movies, including 28 Days Later. In the 2002 film, director Danny Boyle puts a new spin on the zombie franchise by having the infected run, which created a terrifying atmosphere for the movie's characters and the audience watching. Sure, it's not technically a zombie movie--as those afflicted with the disease become filled with rage and are reduced to a primal state--but it's still one of the best mass-infection movies of the 21st century.
Additionally, all three movies in the original Ocean's franchise hit the streaming service, along with the James Bond film Dr. No, the ridiculous alien invasion movie The Faculty, and the super-extreme XXX. All of these movies will be available to watch on November 1.
On November 15, Hulu is rolling out some Christmas movies to prepare you for the upcoming holiday season, including A Christmas Kiss II and A Puppy For Christmas. No, we've never heard of these movies either, but who wouldn't want a puppy for Christmas?
November 30 is the date when lots of movies are leaving Hulu, so you may want to take note and check out movies like Escape from New York, American Psycho, and The Terminator. The full list of everything coming and going from Hulu is listed below.

Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One places players in the tougher times that Dutch Van der Linde's gang faced. As one of its key members, main character Arthur Morgan's adventures will see him completing critical missions to ensure the health and fortune of its members are maintained. Along the way, however, players will also be given opportunities to spend time with the various gang members in the camp doing activities such as hunting or going out on shopping trips.
These side-missions, while not critical to the main story, provide a great deal of characterization and colour to the overall experience. However, many of them can be time-sensitive in their availability. RDR 2 doesn't make this abundantly clear, but if you let them linger too long in favour of pursuing the main missions, or even other side-activities, they can vanish. At certain points, progressing the story will lock you out of these little missions, and you don't want to miss out on them.
It's easy to distinguish between what's part of the main path and what's not, as the missions focused on the core narrative appear as yellow icons on the map. Camp activities, however, appear as white icons. They can be tricky to see at times, so make sure you're regularly checking by bringing up the map and giving it a good inspection for them. As mentioned before, these missions may be your only opportunity to spend time with the folks that aren't out robbing trains and gunning down outlaws in the name of the Van der Linde gang, but their missions are valuable nonetheless.
GameSpot's Red Dead Redemption 2 review is live now, and the game received a 9/10. Kallie Plagge says it is "an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."
For more on the game, watch Quickdraw, our weekly Red Dead Redemption 2 video series. In the first episode we analyzed the various Rockstar games that have had an influence on the open-world western sequel. The second episode, which you can watch in the video above, is a story recap of the original Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 and Xbox One is definitely the kind of game where you'll want to spend as much time as you can uncovering all of its secrets and details. But if you're the type of player who want to find a quicker way to success while living the life of an outlaw in the last days of the wild west, we've got you covered. Much like the original, Red Dead 2 features an assortment of cheats codes that unlock additional resources, with some injecting odd gimmicks and quirks into your game.
To find the cheat menu, press the pause button and select the Settings option. In this menu, press Triangle or Y (on PS4 and Xbox One, respectively) to pull up the Cheats menu. In this menu, you'll find a long list of locked cheats. Many of these codes can be activated by putting in the correct phrase, but others will require some extra effort. Throughout the game you'll find newspapers in town, and some of these offer clues as to how to unlock these extra fun options. While many of these cheats introduce some mostly benign bits of fun--such as keeping Arthur perpetually drunk--activating these codes at any time will have some consequences for your save game. Before trying any of these codes, be sure to make a separate file for your main save. Once you activate these codes, all Trophies and Achievements will be deactivated on this particular file.
With over 30 codes to unlock, some of which have some specific requirements, we've collected a list of cheats that we've uncovered thus far. We also have a separate feature discussing some of the most entertaining and best cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2. Be sure to check back with GameSpot as we update this page with new codes, and how to find them.

The next PPV on WWE's calendar is none other than Evolution, and what's special about this show is that it's the first event in the company's history to feature only female competitors. Additionally, the show will also be bringing back some of its legendary wrestlers from the past couple of decades.
Evolution comes to the WWE Network on Sunday, October 28 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET / 11 PM GMT. At this time, we're unsure if a Kickoff Show will open up the show an hour prior. WWE's Evolution will be held at NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York. If you're in the area, tickets are still available for the upcoming event. If you want to check out the event for yourself, you can subscribe to WWE's streaming service for $10 a month, or sign up for a free month and cancel at any time with no obligation.
Thus far, everything on the card is straight fire. The glorious pirate Kairi Sane and her amazing elbow drop continues her rivalry with the Queen of Spades, Shayna Baszler, for the NXT Championship. Also, Charlotte gets a rematch for the Smackdown Women's Championship against the super-arrogant--and super-wonderful--Becky Lynch in a Last Woman Standing match, and the buildup to that match has been phenomenal over the past few weeks.
As of this writing, there are only five matches on the card. There is a week left to go before the show, but we'll keep you updated as more matches are announced.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on both PS4 and Xbox One, but if you haven't been paying close attention, you might be wondering where its multiplayer mode is and how to access it. Red Dead Online, as it's called, is not yet available; instead, it will launch sometime in November as a beta. There's still very little known about it, but you can read our original story below for what we do know.
Rockstar has shared the first details regarding Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode, named simply Red Dead Online. As was the case with Grand Theft Auto V's online component, GTA Online, Red Dead Online will not launch alongside the game itself; instead, it will debut sometime in November 2018--one month after Redemption 2 itself releases--and will start as a public beta. Anyone who owns a copy of RDR2 will have free access to Red Dead Online; there's no indication the multiplayer mode will be made available separately.
"Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players," the announcement states.
But in a moment of expectations-setting, the announcement also warns that players who hop on immediately are likely to experience some growing pains. Specifically, the studio says it expects turbulence at launch, and to work with the community to overcome "teething problems" and develop Red Dead Online over time.
That roadmap makes it sound very similar to Grand Theft Online, which was fairly rough when it first launched a few weeks after the launch of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has been treating it as a live service since then, though, and has continuously added new features, modes, and cosmetic items over the course of years. Red Dead Online is likely to get a similar treatment given the phenomenal long-term success of GTA V.
Ghost Pokemon have been a common sight in Pokemon Go this past week thanks to the ongoing Halloween 2018 festivities, and soon one will be the star of its very own special event. Niantic has announced it is hosting a Gengar Day on Saturday, November 3, bringing the Shadow Pokemon to Raid Battles for a limited time.
Like Pokemon Go's monthly Community Days, Gengar Day will be a brief event, only running for three hours. During that window of time, the Shadow Pokemon will appear as a Raid Battle at Gyms. These require a Raid Pass to join, but you'll be able to get five of them for free from a nearby Gym to help you participate.
Not only will Gengar spawn frequently at Gyms during the event, you'll also have a chance of coming across a Shiny one. You may not initially be able to tell it's a Shiny at first glance, however; unlike most other Pokemon, Gengar's Shiny variant is only subtly different from its standard form. It's still worth getting one, though, particularly if you plan on picking up Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee for Nintendo Switch when they launch next month.
Any Gen 1 Pokemon you catch in Pokemon Go can be transferred to the Switch titles, where you'll then be able to recapture them at a new facility called the Go Park. If you do manage to find and get a Shiny Gengar during the upcoming Gengar Day event, you'll want to bring it over to Let's Go; Gengar is one of the few Pokemon capable of Mega Evolving, and Shiny Mega Gengar (pictured above) is one of the coolest-looking Pokemon in the games. You can find the hours for each region's Gengar Day event below.
Pokemon Go's Halloween event is scheduled to end on November 1. It introduced a handful of new Ghost and Dark Pokemon to the game, along with the Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon Giratina, which will appear in Raid Battles until November 20. You'll also be able to encounter another Gen 4 Ghost Pokemon, Spiritomb, by completing a new Special Research questline.
Meanwhile, Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee launch for Nintendo Switch on November 16. As previously mentioned, players can transfer monster from Go to Let's Go, and doing so is the key to getting the new Mythical Pokemon Meltan, which we recently learned is able to evolve into a Pokemon called Melmetal. You can read more about the games in our hands-on impressions of Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee.
Forged in Fire: Knife or Death host Bill Goldberg made a name for himself as a wrestler in WCW during the '90s. During what is now known as the "Monday Night Wars," Goldberg had an undefeated streak longer than any one else in sports entertainment for the time. However, when you're on the top of the mountain, people are going to try and find a way to knock you down.
While Goldberg was the top guy on WCW's Monday Nitro, WWE--WWF at the time--mocked his character with its repackaged wrestler, Gillberg. In early-1999, Light Heavyweight Champion Duane Gill was transformed into "Gillberg," and his entrance, appearance, music, and moves all mocked WCW's undefeatable monster.
Obviously, when Goldberg first saw the Gillberg gimmick, he wasn't too happy. "I wanted to cut his head off, and then I wanted to cut everyone's head off that came up with the idea," Goldberg explained to GameSpot. "You can take it a number of ways. I took it violently in the beginning."
And yes, WWE was trying to delegitimize Goldberg as a competitor with this act, but the former WCW Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall of Famer speaks a bit more fondly of the act now. "I should have been honored that they would think enough of me to copy, in a negative way, and try to poke fun at me," Goldberg continued. "Because if I didn't evoke a feeling in them, then they wouldn't have done that. So, there was a reason for it, and I hold nothing against the guy, and I'm greatly appreciative that one more person in the professional wrestling business got a job because I don't know what he was doing prior to that. Hey man, good for him."
Both Gillberg and Goldberg crossed paths--one time only--in 2003, when Goldberg signed with WWE, which resulted in Gillberg attacking Goldberg, and Goldberg returning the favor, destroying Gillberg. All was right with the world, once again.
You can catch Goldberg on TV, every week, as the host of History Channel's Forged in Fire: Knife or Death which airs on Wednesdays at 10 PM. GameSpot also spoke to the host about what happens to all the sliced up raw meat on the show.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who prefer to play games on PC may be rewarded with their patience eventually, but as of now we have no indication that the critically acclaimed western will ever hit the platform.
The most recent Rockstar game, Grand Theft Auto V, did make the jump to PC after its initial console release. Following its original release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, Rockstar released upgraded Playstation 4 and Xbox One ports the following year, and then a PC port in 2015. Those later ports were widely lauded for their improved technical underpinnings, and the PC version has enjoyed an active mod community.
Red Dead Redemption 2 appears very similar to GTAV in key ways. It's a technical powerhouse that's already pushing the current console generation to its limit. While the Xbox One X came out ahead in a performance analysis, both it and the high-end PS4 Pro were said to be hitting the upper limits of their processing power. We may be on the verge of another console generation to debut in the next few years, so a port to those with some added bells and whistles could make sense. And if that happens, a PC port would be likely as well. Plus Red Dead 2 is already receiving positive reviews and helping Take-Two's stock price, so another shot in the arm from a port would be welcome for the company.
Then again, Rockstar has been inconsistent with ports in general and PC support more specifically. The original Red Dead Redemption never made the trip to PC, and in fact is still only available on PS3 and Xbox 360--along with Xbox One, via backwards compatibility. So far the studio has given no indication of a PC port incoming.
Red Dead Redemption 2 could come to PC in a matter of years, but for the time being, your best bet is to saddle up on the current generation of consoles. If you need some help recalling the events of the first game, check out our story recap. Your console decision may come down to performance--keeping in mind that Xbox One X performed the best in a test, but PS4 has exclusive content for 30 days.
Rockstar's massive open-world western has arrived on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. But if you have a PS4, whether you've bought the game or not, you can now download a free Red Dead Redemption 2 item from the PlayStation Store. It's the Red Dead Redemption 2 dynamic theme, and it decks out your PS4's dashboard with RDR 2 music and moving images.
You can add the theme to your account by clicking the link above, or by searching for it in the PlayStation Store on your PS4. Once you've downloaded it to your console, go to the PS4's Settings menu, then Theme Settings, and find the theme to apply it. Now your whole PS4 experience is drenched in Red Dead hype.
As for the game itself, it's just as enormous, detailed, and impressive as you'd expect from a premier Rockstar title. Set in 1899, it's a prequel to the previous game, showing the events that led up to the Van der Linde gang's splitting up. Instead of controlling John Marston as you did in Red Dead Redemption, you play as Arthur Morgan, one of the top men in the gang. You can read our Red Dead Redemption 2 review to find our full thoughts on the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game, both in terms of file size and sheer scope. The title features a ton of side activities to steal your attention, from hunting and fishing to old-fashioned robberies. Even if you plan on ignoring these ancillary tasks and just focusing on the story, however, you're going to need to devote a lot of time to the game.
We've played through Rockstar's western for our Red Dead 2 review, and we now know how long its main campaign is. By our estimates, it takes approximately 45-50 hours to clear the story, if you focus primarily on completing story quests and largely ignore its side activities. Of course, individual playtimes will vary, so you can expect to sink considerably more time into the game if you plan on pursuing its many side missions.
Red Dead Redemption 2 casts players in the role of Arthur Morgan, one of the members of the Van der Linde gang, who are traveling across the American frontier to escape the law. During the journey, Arthur will encounter many new and familiar faces, including the protagonist of the first Red Dead Redemption, John Marston. He'll also be able to wield more than 50 weapons, each of which has a range of customization options that affect their performance and appearance.
On top of that, Arthur will be able to visit many of the same areas featured in the previous game; an image of RDR2's full map leaked ahead of the game's release, showing that the world encompasses a fair chunk of the original Red Dead Redemption's map. As a result, the game will require quite a bit of storage space on your console of choice, as it weighs in at approximately 100 GB.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. The game will be available in several different editions, many of which come with various bonus items; you can learn more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide. Those who pick the game up on PS4 will also receive early access to some items 30 days before they arrive on Xbox One. The first batch of timed-exclusive content includes an outfit, horse, and gun.
With Metro Exodus launching early next year, your interest in the series might be piqued right about now. If you haven't checked it out and you have a gaming-capable PC, you can pick up the first game in the series right now without spending a dime. For just 24 hours, you can head over to Steam and grab Metro 2033 for free. Just make sure you hurry, because the deal goes away October 26 at 10 AM PT (1 PM ET / 6 PM BT).
In the world of Metro 2033, nuclear war has wiped out the vast majority of humanity and made the earth's surface uninhabitable. Survivors in Moscow have fled to the underground, where they struggle to survive. And as a result of the toxicity in the atmosphere, mutant beasts roam the upper world.
This is a bleak first-person shooter, with an unrelentingly harsh atmosphere. In addition to the hideous mutant creatures you'll have to put down using an array of weaponry, you'll also face off against various human enemies--though a stealthy approach is often the best tactic.
In our Metro 2033 review, Chris Watters wrote, "The pervasive atmosphere fuels your whole experience, creating a grim, enthralling world that you feel compelled to explore. Metro 2033 is a very worthwhile game for anyone craving a uniquely rewarding journey into man's dark future."
If nothing else, playing a free copy of Metro 2033 could help ease the pain PC players feel over Red Dead Redemption 2 being only available on consoles, at least for the time being.
The video, which you can watch below, showcases three Red Dead Redemption 2 items that PS4 players will have access to before their Xbox One counterparts. First is the Grizzlies Outlaw Outfit, a "slick but rugged look" that Rockstar says is "perfect for exploring the forests of Ambarino." The outfit will be available from the start both in the main game and Red Dead Online.
Additionally, PS4 players will have early access to a special horse and gun in Red Dead Online: the Red Chestnut Arabian Horse--which comes outfitted with the health- and stamina-boosting Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle--and the High Roller Double Action Revolver. You can read more about the items on the PlayStation Blog.
As of now, these are the only three timed-exclusive Red Dead items that Rockstar has announced, but the trailer suggests that other timed-exclusive content for Red Dead Online is on the way. Red Dead Online will launch as a beta in November, roughly a month after the main game releases, although we still don't know too much about it. However, Rockstar warns players to expect some teething problems when the beta first begins.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. The game will be available in several editions that come with some bonus items; you can read more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide. You're going to need a lot of storage space, however, as Rockstar has confirmed RDR2's file size on both platforms.
Reviews for RDR2 have begun appearing ahead of its release, and critics have had good things to say about it. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10 in our Red Dead 2 review, writing, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."
Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here. The highly anticipated open-world western from Rockstar Games is out now for PS4 and Xbox One. And like many other new releases nowadays, Rockstar has revealed the game will come alongside a day-one update.
According to the developer's official website, the update will address "a number of last minute tweaks, bugs, and fixes." You aren't required to download and install the patch before you can begin playing the game, although Rockstar strongly advises that you do "to ensure the best possible gameplay experience."
Those who've pre-ordered RDR2 digitally can already begin pre-loading the game ahead of its release, but you'll need to clear up a lot of space to install it; after much speculation over its file size, Rockstar recently confirmed that RDR2 weighs in at roughly 100 GB on both platforms. You can read more details on Rockstar's support page.
Players who have already pre-loaded the game will be able to start playing tonight at 9 PM PT (12 AM ET on October 26). You'll also be able to get it a little early if you pick up a physical copy from certain retailers; both Best Buy and GameStop have announced they'll begin selling the title at 9 PM local time. RDR2 comes in a variety of different editions; you can learn more about each in our pre-order guide. However, even if you go the physical route, it'll take quite a while to install RDR2 on your console; as we recently learned, the physical copy of the game spans two discs.
Reviews are out for RDR2, and critics have had glowing things to say about it. GameSpot awarded the title a 9/10 in our Red Dead 2 review, calling it "an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right." Before jumping into the game, be sure to check out our Red Dead 2 tips and guides.
With its sprawling setting and sheer range of activities to partake in, Rockstar's open-world western, Red Dead Redemption 2, is a huge game on PS4 and Xbox One, and you'll need to have quite a bit of space on your console to install it. The developer has opened a support page for the title on its website, confirming its file size on PS4 and Xbox One--and it's even bigger than previously estimated.
According to the support page, Red Dead Redemption 2 weighs in at 99 GB on PS4. You'll need to have even more room if you're going digital, as the installation process will require an additional 50 GB on top of that. Xbox One owners, meanwhile, will need to have 107 GB to install the game.
There has been much speculation over how big Red Dead Redemption 2's size is, although all previous estimates have indicated that it was going to be quite hefty. The box for the Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Pro bundle suggested it was going to be 105 GB, while the Microsoft Store listed it as approximately 88 GB.
If you're purchasing Red Dead Redemption 2 digitally, you'll be able to pre-load it starting October 18, at 9 PM PT (12 AM ET on Friday). You'll get other benefits for pre-ordering the game, such as the Ardennes War Horse, Outlaw Survival Kit, extra cash in Red Dead Redemption 2's story mode, and bonus GTA$ for Grand Theft Auto V's GTA Online mode. You can read more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. Rockstar has recently shared the game's launch trailer, which you can watch here. GameSpot awarded the game a 9/10 in our Red Dead 2 review. Critic Kallie Plagge wrote, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."
