Following the latest leak, Niantic has confirmed Pokemon Go's annual Halloween event is coming back for another year. The event kicks off today, October 23, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET and introduces a handful of new Gen 4 Pokemon to the game, as well as the first Gen 4 Legendary.
As in previous years, Niantic is debuting a couple of new Ghost- and Dark-type Pokemon during the Halloween event. This time around, players will have their first chance to catch Drifloon, Stunky, and their evolved forms Drifblim and Skuntank. The studio is also offering new trainer hats, shirts, and backpacks inspired by Ghost Pokemon through the in-game store, including a Gengar backpack and Drifloon cap.
On top of that, Niantic is kicking off a new Special Research questline. Whereas previous Special Research quests led to encounters with the Mythical Pokemon Mew and Celebi, this new one revolves around Spiritomb--another Ghost Pokemon introduced in Gen 4. Niantic is also rolling out new Field Research tasks that focus on Ghost and Dark Pokemon. Finally, just as in past years, players will earn double the normal amount of Candy for capturing Pokemon during the Halloween event.
Perhaps most notably, the first Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon is set to debut in Pokemon Go. Coinciding with the start of the Halloween event, Pokemon Platinum's cover monster, Giratina, will appear around the world as a Raid Battle at Gyms until November 20, giving players roughly a month to add one to their collection. Giratina is dual Ghost/Dragon Pokemon, so you'll want to bring along a powerful Dark- or Dragon-type to challenge it.
Pokemon Go's Halloween event is slated to run until November 1. Meanwhile, the game's next Community Day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 10, although Niantic hasn't announced any further details as of yet.
Alongside the latest Ascendant Challenge, Bungie's weekly reset in Destiny 2: Forsaken has provided a new bounty from Spider that rewards Powerful gear. This one is a target we've seen before, but the mission you'll complete is in a different location than the previous instance. Here's what to do to complete Wanted: Silent Fang.
As always with the big bounty offered by Spider, there's not any question of where to go. You don't have to manually find the appropriate Lost Sector for the enemy you're hunting; this gives you an Adventure on the designated planet. Silent Fang is found on the EDZ, in an Adventure appropriately titled Wanted: Silent Fang (recommended Power level: 540). But whereas his appearance in September saw you go The Sludge, this time you'll go to Winding Cove.
First, of course, you need to buy the bounty from Spider for five Ghost Fragments, which you can find inside Tangled Shore chests and by completing Public Events in the area. Once you have the bounty, go to the EDZ's Winding Cove landing zone and activate the Adventure. This will then have you make your way through the Lost Sector, and eventually you'll reach Silent Fang, who is a giant Fallen Captain. Simply take him out to complete the bounty. You can watch September's version of this above--the one wrinkle is the need to occasionally throw explosives dropped by shanks at objects generating shields, which will render Silent Fang vulnerable to damage.
The chest at the end is unlikely to provide any good rewards, but completing the Spider bounty provides you with a piece of Powerful gear.
Fallout 76's beta is beginning today on Xbox One, and Bethesda has released a whole new batch of screenshots to mark the occasion. These images put an emphasis on the lovely vistas of West Virginia, albeit a slightly more irradiated version than you may have seen in the state's tourism ads.
To prepare for launch, the company also released a letter to its fans thanking them for their support and cautioning that this is a very different kind of Fallout game. It stressed that the studio cares about these worlds and wants to do right by them, and that as an online and live game the launch of Fallout 76 would be just the beginning. The studio is looking ahead to a long period of bug fixes and other support.
"Given what we're doing with 76, we know we're opening everyone up to all new spectacular issues none of us have encountered," Bethesda wrote. "Some we're aware of, such as areas where performance needs to improve with lots of players."
The beta is coming first to Xbox One, with PC and PS4 to follow on October 30. Pre-ordering will grant you access to the beta but you may not get in right away. Instead, Bethesda will be giving out codes for the beta itself as it invites in more players to stress test. For that same reason, the tests themselves will take place in concentrated chunks of a few hours at a time to force players together.
The beta is said to be the the full game and your progress will carry over to the full game. The full game launches on November 14.
If there's something Spider-Man PS4 needs, it's more puddles. With its latest update to Marvel's Spider-Man, developer Insomniac Games has made sure all players' versions of New York City are up to the requisite level of dampness, as required by internet law. The new update, which came just ahead of the release of Spider-Man's first round of downloadable content, The Heist, includes a new difficulty mode and a New Game Plus mode, as well as additional stickers for Spider-Man's Photo mode--specifically, puddles.
Insomniac User Interface and Experience Lead Gil Doron shared a shot of the new puddle capabilities on Twitter. It was also shared by Insomniac Community Manager James Stevenson, who cheekily wrote, "You can add your own puddles in Photo mode now with puddle stickers. You're welcome."
You can add your own puddles in photo mode now with puddle stickers. You're welcome. https://t.co/l0Jem6SWcL
The addition of puddle stickers allows players to add as many puddles as they like to the game, in a hilarious throwing of moist shade by Insomniac. The puddle gag is a reference to an internet controversy that pooled up before the September release of Spider-Man, when some Reddit users claimed one shot of the game included fewer puddles than were shown in the same scene at E3 2018.
The lack of puddles led to some players claiming Spider-Man had received a graphical downgrade as compared to the E3 demo, maybe to hide the limitations of the PS4, and they were not happy about it. The situation became, as some dubbed it, Puddle-gate. Insomniac answered back by saying the puddle sizes had been reduced, but there was no graphical downgrade. The Photo mode answer to the Puddle-gate question is undeniably better.
Apparently the controversy wasn't a wet blanket for too many players, since Spider-Man broke Sony's sales records in its first three days on store shelves.
The story in Marvel's Spider-Man continues in The Heist, the first piece of a three-part DLC expansion called The City That Never Sleeps. The Heist includes several old characters and a few new ones, but primarily focuses on Peter's ex-girlfriend Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat.
The Heist is about three hours long in total, including all story missions and optional side quests and activities. An hour of that time is devoted to the story of Black Cat's return to New York. She's stealing flash drives from members of the prominent crime families in the city, and Peter and Mary Jane work together to both figure out why and discover a way to stop her before she starts a gang war. The first half of the story involves a new type of stealth mission and plenty of chase sequences, while the latter half includes a Mary Jane stealth mission and a powerful new enemy type that utilizes a minigun. Standard combat missions are sprinkled throughout, and enemy base missions are dropped entirely.
The remaining two hours of the DLC consist of the The Heist's new side quests, which are mostly variations of what can be found in the base game. Instead of hunting backpacks, for example, you'll be looking for the art that Felicia's father has left hidden around the city. The only new side activity involves using the Spider-Bot to look for bombs under cars. The new Screwball Challenges--which replace the Taskmaster Challenges--will probably take up most of your time. They're similar to what you had to do in the main game's challenges, but you'll also be tasked with capturing your web-slinging or combat moves on camera at the perfect moment to rack up a higher score.
Minor spoilers for a new Spider-Man villain introduced in the first 20 minutes of The Heist follow.
The Heist truly feels like a first part, ending in a way that implies its story isn't finished, and will continue in later DLC. Although it seems as if Black Cat's piece of the tale is complete at the end of The Heist, her actions bring the Spider-Man villain Hammerhead back into the wall-crawler's life. Insomniac has not confirmed which character will be the focus of Turf Wars, the second part of The City That Never Sleeps, but The Heist makes a good case that we can expect to see Spidey go up against the gangster with a steel skull fairly soon.
Marvel's Spider-Man is exclusive to PS4. The City That Never Sleeps continues with Turf Wars in November and Silver Lining in December.
History Channel's Knife Or Death is a spinoff of its wildly successful series Forged In Fire, where competitors forge weapons for judges to test. However, on Knife Or Death, the competitors come onto the show with premade blades and run them through a series of tests, which includes slicing through raw chicken, fish, and more.
The host of the series, now in its second season, is none other than Bill Goldberg, the former WCW Heavyweight Champion and WWE Universal Champion. He spoke with GameSpot to reveal the most important question Forged in Fire fans have, "Where does all that sliced up meat go?"
"Well, it just depends on what's on the menu that day because it's quite possible that it can end up on a grill right next to set, depending upon whether it be the pork loin," explained Goldberg. "Most of the time, the fish does not go to waste, whether it be cleaned up and sushied or put on the grill. We try not to waste anything on that show."
One of the most challenging parts of the course is cutting through a raw chicken, in one slice, which looks easier than it sounds. Many competitors end their run here.
It's safe to say the cast and crew eats well on the show. However, the focus of the series is on these competitors and the weapons they bring to run the show's obstacle course, which involves a whole lot of slicing and dicing. You can see handcrafted weapons like longswords, katannas, and more.
However, Goldberg was more than puzzled about a contestant's blade choice during Season 1 of the series. "There's no question that the guy from Valley Center or somewhere out near me in San Diego, California who came to the show with a butcher knife [was the strangest blade], and a very, very small one at that. I could not believe it. He did as well as he could, but it wasn't... it was like bringing a kitchen knife to a knife fight. It paled in comparison."
Forged in Fire: Knife or Death is currently in its second season and airs Wednesdays at 10 PM on the History Channel.
Niantic kicked off Pokemon Go's October festivities with an event dedicated to Psychic Pokemon, but it looks like a Halloween event is also in the cards this month. Dataminer Chrales has discovered dialogue in Pokemon Go's network traffic suggesting that Halloween-themed items and clothing are on the way, as is a new Special Research quest. [Update: Niantic has confirmed that Pokemon Go's Halloween event is returning, and it will include a Special Research task to get Spiritomb.]
Up until now, each Special Research quest in Pokemon Go has led to an encounter with a Mythical Pokemon, but according to Chrales' latest discovery, it appears the next one revolves around Spiritomb--a Ghost/Dark Pokemon introduced in Gen 4. With Halloween just around the corner, Spiritomb is a fitting choice to add to the game, and it appears one aspect of its quest will involve capturing 108 Pokemon--a reference to Spiritomb's Pokedex entry, which says it was formed out of 108 spirits.
In addition to the Special Research quest, Chrales has found data for a new Gengar-themed hat, backpack, and shirt, as well as clothing options based on Drifloon, Drifblim, and Mismagius--three other Ghost Pokemon first introduced in Gen 4. This presumably means those three monsters will also begin appearing in the game during the Halloween event, although Niantic has yet to confirm this.
Niantic has hosted a Halloween event for Pokemon Go every year since the game first launched back in 2016. During last year's event, players had their first chance to capture Gen 3 Ghost Pokemon such as Sableye, Duskull, and Banette, as well as a special Pikachu wearing a witch's hat. The developer also typically offers other bonuses during its Halloween event, such as double the usual amount of Candy for capturing or transferring Pokemon.
October has been a particularly busy month for Pokemon Go. Niantic recently rolled out the first wave of Gen 4 Pokemon in the game, so players around the world can now catch the Sinnoh starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, as well as a handful of other Sinnoh-native Pokemon in the wild. However, three Gen 4 monsters--Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine--are exclusive to certain areas; here's where you can find them.
The weekly resets for Destiny 2 continue to roll out. As always, post-Forsaken, the latest of these refreshes the Ascendant Challenge that is available from Petra in the Dreaming City. For the second week in a row, we're seeing a repeat of an earlier Ascendant Challenge, and it seems these will be available in the same order they originally launched in. Below, you'll find a complete guide on where you need to go and what to do to complete this bounty.
The Ascendant Challenge revolves around dealing with the Taken, but the particulars of what you're doing are entirely different from week to week. To start out, you'll need a consumable item called the Tincture of Queensfoil. These can be obtained in a variety of ways while in the Dreaming City; you can open chests and complete Public Events, for instance, or buy one if you know where to go.
With a Tincture in hand, make your way to the Garden of Esila area near the southernmost point of the map, as seen in the image below. Consuming the Tincture will provide you with the Ascendance buff that allows to see a Taken portal that's somewhat hidden on a cliffside. Jump in, and you'll be teleported to the Ascendant Plane's Forfeit Shrine.
Once you're there, you'll have to fend off Taken--or just avoid them--while trying to secure three Arc Charges around the area. Once you pick one up, head toward the center starting area, near the giant Blight ball. Walk into the bright point at the bottom to dunk the charge you're holding. Repeat the process two more times and you'll receive an endless supply of Super energy that will help you to kill all of the remaining Taken in the area. Once they're dealt with, you can complete the bounty (netting you Dark Fragments and Powerful gear) and open a chest.
Given that the bounty (not the chest) offers Powerful gear--a reliable way of increasing your Power level--this is an activity you'll definitely want to take part in once you're able. But bear in mind it is a challenge, so be sure to come prepared. It can be done solo, but having multiple teammates to grab charges and draw the enemies' attention can help immensely.
New Fortnite challenges for Week 4 of Season 6 are live, and unlike some recent weeks, these include some trickier ones that require you to know the map well. One such challenges involves getting your dance on while being on top of a Clock Tower (followed by two other specific but vaguely named locations, the Pink Tree and Porcelain Throne). By doing this you'll earn yourself some experience but, more importantly, you'll get the Battle Stars needed to level up your Battle Pass and get those sweet, sweet cosmetics. To do this specific challenge, you'll actually need to own a Battle Pass, as it's exclusive to those players that do. As it stands, we're only aware of one Clock Tower, so here's where you'll need to go to find it and what to do to ensure you've completed the challenge.
The Clock Tower in question can be found at Tilted Towers. If you're flying in, get your glider out and it's very easy to spot in the southwestern corner. Of course, you'll need to aim for the very top of it, but if you flub the landing and end up at the bottom, you can always build your way there. One thing to note is that the roof of the clock tower can be destroyed, which makes it considerably easier to land in, but planting yourself on top of a non-busted clock tower isn't difficult either. Once you're in or on the clock tower, bring up your emote wheel and bust some moves.
Once that's done you'll need to dance on top of a Pink Tree. You'll find one of these at the centre of Lucky Landing. The strategy is the same here: land on top of it, and do a little jig. Sadly, you might find that people are trying to--or already have--cut down the tree, in which case you'll need to quit out and jump into another match to try again.
For the third part of this challenge head to Flush Factory, where you'll have to dance on top of a Porcelain Throne. If you hadn't figured it out, that's a fancy way of saying "toilet." Once that's done, you should be finished. Just keep an eye out for the pop-up that confirms that the challenge has been completed. You can see all three locations in the images above.
The other difficult challenge for the week asks players to go to five shooting galleries and score three points at each one. There's a bunch of shooting galleries scattered around the island, but if you're not familiar with their locations you may end up running around aimlessly. We've put together a map of exactly where you need to go to find the targets in our Shooting Gallery location guide.
This week's US PlayStation Store sale is now live, lowering prices on a selection of PS4, PS3, and PS Vita games. Better yet, the Sale of the Dead continues this week, giving those looking for frights a chance to save some cash. To top it off, a handful of first-party games have gotten permanent price drops. As usual, PS Plus members get an additional discount on some of these deals. Now let's take a look at the best games on sale between now and October 30.
Starting with the price drops, it's nice to see some of the year's biggest PS4 games leaving their original price tags behind. If you missed out on either God of War or Detroit: Become Human they're now available to buy for $40 each. Meanwhile, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and the PS4 remaster of Shadow of the Colossus are down to $20 apiece. These new prices aren't going anywhere, so you can pick them up at your leisure.
As for the temporary discounts, Epic is doing a Fortnite sale this week and next. During that time, you can get any Founders Pack on the PlayStation Store for half price. That includes the Standard Founder's Pack for $20, Deluxe for $30, Super Deluxe for $45, and Limited Edition for $75. Each one comes with the Save the World PvE mode, plus an array of in-game heroes, weapons, llamas, piñatas, and other digital goodies.
Thanks to the launch of its Battle Royale mode, Fortnite has enjoyed incredible levels of popularity. That's due in part to its availability as a free-to-play game. But Fortnite's original mode--the cooperative affair dubbed Save the World following the launch of Battle Royale--will also eventually move out of early access and be available as a free-to-play title. However, those plans have been delayed out of 2018, as developer Epic Games says it needs to progress on some reworks and additional features before it makes the switch.
In an update about its Save the World mode, Epic suggests that the popularity of Fortnite as a whole means it needs to be prepared for a large influx of new users once STW goes free for all.
"We're working on a broad set of features, reworks, and backend system scaling we believe are needed to go free-to-play," it said. "Scaling up for the legions of player heroes who will be joining the fight is key to providing an excellent experience. This applies to all of our players, old and new, so we're taking the time to get this right."
If you just can't wait for it to go free-to-play, Epic is hosting a 50% off sale for the Standard, Deluxe, Standard Deluxe, and Limited Founder's Packs starting later this week. That means that your cheapest option will be $20 soon, until it goes free. Founders will also get a Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez for free if they log on during the Fortnitemares Halloween event.
The update also details a big change to the Hero System to give you more flexibility in the loadouts, along with several front-end UI improvements.
The cooperative PvE Save the World mode was the original pitch for Fortnite, and has remained in development as the free-to-play PvP Battle Royale has exploded in popularity. It's fair to say the free version of the game has overshadowed its original vision, especially since the PvE isn't available for some versions, including the Nintendo Switch or mobile games. But at least some of its large audience is likely to jump into Save the World once it's free, so Epic is looking to be prepared.
If you need a hand on earning your rewards in Battle Royale, make sure to check out our challenge guide for this season.
It's almost the end of October, but there are still new things rolling out on Netflix. As per usual, this month brought with it a wide variety of new movies, TV shows, and originals to the streaming service. Whether you're looking ahead or at what's been added recently, there's a lot to take in; below, we've rounded up some of the highlights from throughout October 2018.
Returning for a second season is the adult animated comedy Big Mouth. Comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney star as two adolescent boys going through puberty. The raunchy series has the duo trying to understand life, girls, and everything else while dealing with hormone monsters and uncomfortable moments in early sexuality. It's out now.
Speaking of returning Netflix originals, Castlevania comes back for a second helping on October 26. The series follows Trevor Belmont as he fights the evil forces of Dracula. Season 1 writer Warren Ellis returns, picking up on the huge cliffhanger from last year with Alucard. This season will add more episodes for a total of eight, doubling up from Season 1's four.
As far as movies and television go, October 1 saw Netflix release most of its content. Out of everything that hit that day, you'll want to watch/rewatch the classic '80s adventure movie The NeverEnding Story or the first rated-R Marvel movie that matters--sorry, Dolph Lundgren's The Punisher--Blade. Additionally, Blade II will be available as well. Also, Season 4 of Gotham is coming to Netflix as well, and you can see just how crazy this series has become for yourself.
Sadly, there are a few great items leaving the service as well. The fantastic comedy series Freaks and Geeks left on October 1, along with Sin City and The Lost Boys. Even though Halloween is right around the corner, The Babadook is headed out on October 14 and V/H/S 2 leaves on October 24.
Check out the complete list of everything coming and going from Netflix below, and if you're looking for more news from streaming services, we have complete October arrivals lists from Hulu and Amazon Prime Video as well. Netflix hasn't yet announced its November lineup, but that should be coming soon.

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is quickly approaching, bringing the mascot character back to his roots before his trip to Skylands. The latest trailer shows the little dragon and his surrounding cast looking better than ever.
The reignited trilogy features three Spyro games that hit the PlayStation from 1998-2000. That includes Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The character was notable at the time for its characterization and animation, and that shows well in this visual overhaul. Developer Toys for Bob had its work cut out for it creating an updated style that remains true to the original, which required some filling in the gaps.
"When you look at the original game and you squint your eyes at it, there's a lot of imagination that you had to do at the time to fill in the blanks." Toys For Bob co-studio head Paul Yan told us. "For us, it's taking the game, and asking: What do people remember about this? It was important to start with the memories as opposed to how do you interpret exactly what's on the screen."
Pre-ordering can get you a Spyro keychain. There's only one version of the game, so you don't have to pick and choose between editions that are special or definitive. As a remaster of a classic trilogy, it comes in at a budget price of $40. It's due to release on November 13 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
WWE fans were shocked and saddened to hear the news on the October 22 episode of Raw that Universal Champion Roman Reigns was leaving the company, after revealing he has leukemia. Before exiting the ring, he laid his Universal Championship in the middle of the ring.
During the opening segment of the Monday night series, Reigns came down to the ring, with the title on his shoulder, and gave a heartfelt speech to the fans in attendance and those watching at home, breaking character to reveal that for the past 11 years, he's been battling with leukemia. "My real name is Joe, and I've been living with leukemia for 11 years," explained Reigns. "And unfortunately, it's back. And because the leukemia is back, I cannot fulfill my that role. I can't be that fighting champion. And I'm going to have to relinquish the Universal Championship.
A portion of the speech was tweeted out by WWE, which you can see below.
Reigns went on to say that he was diagnosed with leukemia at 22 years old, but the leukemia was quickly in remission. He stated that he didn't have a job or a home and football was done with him. On top of all that, Reigns had a child on the way.
"But you wanna know who gave me a chance? The team that gave me a chance was the WWE," continued Reigns. "When i finally made it to the main roster, and I was on the road, they put me in front of you, the WWE Universe, and y'all have made my dreams come true. It didn't matter if you cheered me. It didn't matter if you booed me. You've always reacted and that's the most important thing, and for that, I have to say thank you so much.
"Sometimes life throws you a curveball. And right now, the best thing for me to do is to go home and focus on my family and my health... But I want to make one thing clear. By no means is this a retirement speech. After I'm done whooping leukemia's ass once again, I'm coming back home. And when i do, it's not just gonna be about titles and being on top. It's about a purpose. I will beat this, and I will be back, and you will see me very, very soon."
Reigns laid the title in the middle of the ring and walked back up the ramp, where his brothers-in-arms Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins met him and gave him a hug. With tears in their eyes, they lined up their fists in the classic Shield pose one more time.
As with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Destiny 2, players who pick up Rockstar's highly anticipated western, Red Dead Redemption 2, on PS4 will get access to some timed-exclusive content. A handful of items for the main game and its online component, Red Dead Online, will be available on PS4 30 days before they roll out to Xbox One, and now Rockstar has shown them off in a new trailer.
The trailer, which you can watch below, showcases three Red Dead Redemption 2 items that PS4 players will have access to before their Xbox One counterparts. First is the Grizzlies Outlaw Outfit, a "slick but rugged look" that Rockstar says is "perfect for exploring the forests of Ambarino." The outfit will be available from the start both in the main game and Red Dead Online.
Additionally, PS4 players will have early access to a special horse and gun in Red Dead Online: the Red Chestnut Arabian Horse--which comes outfitted with the health- and stamina-boosting Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle--and the High Roller Double Action Revolver. You can read more about the items on the PlayStation Blog.
As of now, these are the only three timed-exclusive Red Dead items that Rockstar has announced, but the trailer suggests that other timed-exclusive content for Red Dead Online is on the way. Red Dead Online will launch as a beta in November, roughly a month after the main game releases, although we still don't know too much about it. However, Rockstar warns players to expect some teething problems when the beta first begins.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. The game will be available in several editions that come with some bonus items; you can read more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide. If you're thinking about getting the game digitally, however, you're going to need a lot of space, as Rockstar has confirmed RDR 2's file size on both platforms. It also appears the game's full map has leaked ahead of launch.
Update: Epic has released yet another Fortnite event teaser, this one reaffirming that Fortnitemares will begin on Wednesday, October 24. The tweet reads, "The crack of lightning / Illuminates your wins / Arise, dark ones- / The fight begins." It's accompanied by the image below, which doesn't include a look at any of the inevitable new skins we'll get as part of the event.
Original Story: Epic has begun teasing an apparent Halloween event for Fortnite, titled Fortnitemares. The event will kick off this Wednesday, October 24 and last through Monday, November 26. It promises "spooky rewards" for completing special Fortnitemares challenges, and uses a variation on the Season 6 theme, "Darkness has risen."
One such reward could be a skin that Epic appears to be teasing through Twitter. Three images have been revealed so far, and at least two of them look like they fit together like a puzzle. The Fortnitemares rewards will probably go through both the Battle Royale and Save the World modes, since Epic has announced that you can win a couple of skins by logging onto Save the World during the event.
That same announcement gave word that the Save the World mode, which had been planned for release as a free-to-play mode this year, won't be switching to free after all. That means to earn any Fortnitemare rewards you'll need to be a founder, but the studio is offering those packages at half-price.
The whole season is fairly creepy, and its biggest Battle Pass reward is the Dire Wolf skin that changes you into more and more of a werewolf as you level it up. We've also seen a slow drip of special Halloweenskins. For more Halloween events, check out our Halloween roundup.
Red Dead Redemption 2's release date is nearly here, and as with any big game release, the leaks have started to appear. The game's full map has emerged online, courtesy of Reddit users Mco_yum_yum and tomcruise_momshoes. Take a look at the map--which comes from the official game guide--below. [Update: The initial image has disappeared, but you can see another look at it below.]
It appears Red Dead Redemption 2 will contain a fair chunk of the original game's map: Flat Iron Lake is visible in the leaked image, as are Tall Trees, Armadillo, and more. Mexico doesn't appear to be included, but there are of course a number of new locations we haven't yet explored.
A game that size understandably takes up a lot of data--at least 99 GB in total, to be precise. That's how big Red Dead Redemption 2's file size is if you're playing from a PS4 disc; those who download the game on PS4 will need an additional 50 GB, while Xbox One users will need 107 GB free to install the open-world title. Pre-loading is already available for digital customers, and pre-ordering also gets you added benefits such as the Ardennes War Horse, Outlaw Survival Kit, extra cash in Red Dead Redemption 2's story mode, and bonus GTA$ for Grand Theft Auto V's GTA Online mode. You can read more in our Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order guide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. Rockstar has just released the game's launch trailer, which you can watch here. Cellar Door Games has announced that both Rogue Legacy and Full Metal Furies are getting Switch ports. Both games will release on Nintendo's console on November 6.
Both of Cellar Door Games' titles are very difficult, but not unfair for players with the right amount of patience. Rogue Legacy is a single-player roguelike that first released in 2013 to critical acclaim. Despite being a multiplayer co-op game, Full Metal Furies is no less challenging, and the 2018 game features a meta narrative that is reminiscent of what's found in games like Doki Doki Literature Club and Nier: Automata.
In our Rogue Legacy review, Britton Peele gave the game an 8/10, writing, "It's almost unfair to compare Rogue Legacy to other games that emphasize permanent death. It doesn't have the secrets of Spelunky and it's more predictable than The Binding of Isaac, yet at the end of every game comes a desire to hop right back in, spend your gold on some upgrades and rack up more monster kills, something the game encourages with a challenging new-game-plus option that appears after the credits roll. Whether you play it on your home console or on the go, it's worth exploring Rogue Legacy's castle again and again and again."
Full Metal Furies is a four-person co-op game that presents itself as a simple arcade title, but hides a difficult puzzle mechanic. You and up to three friends play as four girls who are on a mission to destroy the massive Titans that have taken over their world. Each girl has unique attacks and abilities, allowing them to take on the roles of a tank, brawler, short-range support, and long-range support. Teamwork is key if you want to discover the game's secrets and hidden ending. Full Metal Furies' story is heart-warming, with both humorous banter and eye-rolling puns.
Rogue Legacy is already available on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PC. Full Metal Furies is currently available on Xbox One and PC.
The apocalypse approaches. Fallout 76 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 14, with a beta test kicking off in October. The earliest game in the series' timeline, Fallout 76 puts you in the shoes of a person residing in Vault 76. Base-building returns from Fallout 4, and players can hunt down items that will allow them to fire nuclear missiles at areas of the map. The game is said to be four times bigger than its predecessor--and here's a shocker--it's online. Every other person you see in the game is controlled by a real person. For a complete roundup of the facts, check out Everything We Know About Fallout 76.
Whether you're a diehard fan of the series or you want to see what all the hype is about, you might be ready to lock in your Fallout 76 pre-order. If so, we have all the information you need below.
Pre-order bonus
A pre-launch beta for Fallout 76 has been announced. The only way to get access is by pre-ordering, so if you're eager to play it ahead of launch, you'll definitely want to take a look at the links below. The beta kicks off on October 23 on Xbox One before expanding to PS4 and PC on October 30.
Standard Edition
Suggested retail price: $60
The standard edition of Fallout 76 comes with just the base game but is already available to pre-order.
One step above the standard edition is the Deluxe edition, also known as the Tricentennial edition. You get the base game along with a variety of in-game bonus items. That includes the following goodies:
Tricentennial Power Armor Customization for the T-51, T-45, T-60, and X-01 Power Armors
Tricentennial Weapon Customization for the 10MM Pistol, Hatchet, and Laser Rifle
Spectacularly Handsome Vault Boy Mascot Head
Patriotic Uncle Sam Outfit
Celebratory Vault Boy Saluting Emote
First-Class Tricentennial Workshop Posters
Tricentennial Commemorative Photo Frame
Provided you're interested in those bonuses, you can pre-order this version from select retailers through the links below.
Those willing to spend more can get a much grander package. In addition to a copy of Fallout 76 itself, the Power Edition gets you a ton of extras, the centerpiece of which is a T-51 Power Armor helmet. This is actually wearable and is equipped with a voice modulator speaker and a working headlamp. This comes with a West Tek canvas carrying bag.
Also included is a map showing Fallout 76's world. This measures 21 inches by 21 inches and glows in the dark. Additionally, there are 24 figurines based on in-game models (covering likes like creatures and vault dwellers), a steelbook, and bonus in-game items (outlined with the Deluxe edition).
The Microsoft Store has kicked off this week's sale on Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. And in the spirit of the impending holiday, lots of the discounts are on games that are spooky, dark, or outright horror-themed. Let's dive in and see what kind of deals are available between now and October 29.
Starting with games that are only slightly spooky, you can pick up the excellent Metroid-like platformer Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition for $11. It won't give you nightmares, but the bug world it's set in is bleak enough for Halloween. Similarly, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which draws more than a little inspiration from Castlevania 3, is on sale for $12.
Moving on up the scare chart, we come to Prey ($15), a game that's set on a space station teeming with aliens that can make themselves look like inanimate objects--meaning they could be anywhere. Alien: Isolation - The Collection, which hardly lets you feel comfortable at all, is on sale for $12. For $20 you can pick up Resident Evil 7, a game that's both over-the-top and highly effective in its scares.
If you're not looking for scares, you have other options as well. Perhaps you're curious about Fortnite's PvE Save the World mode and don't want to wait for it to go free-to-play next year. If so, you can grab Fortnite - Standard Founder's Pack on sale for $20, down from $40. While the gaming world is abuzz with the Fallout 76 beta, you can pick up Fallout 4 for $15. Or, if you'd rather sail through an open world and plunder treasure, you can grab Sea of Thieves for $39.
You'll find more of our picks below, or you can check out the full sale here.
2017's Wonder Woman was a breakout critical success for the often uneven DC cinematic universe. Its sequel is set decades later, in the 1980s--hence the title Wonder Woman 1984--and will take the character into the Cold War. But its debut has been delayed, and it'll no longer hit theaters next year. Warner Bros. has announced a seven-month delay, pushing the the return of Princess Diana to mid-2020.
Star Gal Gadot, who plays the title character, first shared news of the delay via Twitter. Rather than its planned November 1, 2019 date, it will now release on June 5, 2020. Gadot calls this date its "rightful home," presumably a reference to its placement among tent-pole summer movies rather than a fall release. The first movie was released in May 2017.
The news was subsequently confirmed in a statement WB shared with GameSpot. "We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did," said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution. "This move lands the film exactly where it belongs."
Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. Be there or be square!!! ✨🙅♀️✨ pic.twitter.com/Wj8ORUQLdg
No other reason was given for the delay other than the "changing landscape" Gadot mentioned. That could mean that next fall is simply getting too crowded or that space has opened up in the following summer. DC has scheduled its Joker movie for October 2019, so keeping Wonder Woman 1984 in the November slot could have overlapped with it. The gap left behind by the movie has already been filled by another film, with the upcoming Charlie's Angels now set for November 1, 2019.
So far we haven't seen a trailer for WW84, so details are still scarce. Patty Jenkins is returning to direct, and Chris Pine is coming back in some capacity as Steve Trevor. We also know that Kristen Wiig has been cast as one of Wonder Woman's most iconic nemeses, Cheetah.
Bethesda has released a statement to address the developer's community just prior to the launch of the first Fallout 76 beta. This first beta comes to Xbox One on October 23 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET and ends four hours later.
In the statement, Bethesda highlights just how different Fallout 76 is from the previous games in the franchise. The developer cites the inspiration for Fallout 76 comes from wanting to try something new after feeling as if every previous Bethesda games had "similar DNA." That said, Bethesda doesn't want to alienate the fanbase its spent building over the years. "Our worlds, whether it be Fallout, Elder Scrolls, or the coming Starfield, are important places to us," Bethesda wrote. "We do everything we can to treat them with care. We know they mean just as much to you."
Bethesda also acknowledged that it's treating Fallout 76 a little bit differently from past Fallout titles. Before, the company said that its employees take a small break after the release of a game. With Fallout 76, Bethesda is looking at the game's launch as if it were the starting line. "Given what we're doing with 76, we know we're opening everyone up to all new spectacular issues none of us have encountered," Bethesda wrote. "Some we're aware of, such as areas where performance needs to improve with lots of players."
Even though the first beta is exclusive to Xbox One, Bethesda is following up with another beta for PS4 and PC on October 30. Although the beta periods are only for a few hours, each one will offer the full Fallout 76 experience. You can only participate in the beta by pre-ordering Fallout 76.
Fallout 76 releases on November 14 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Fallout 76 is a very different kind of Fallout game, with a new focus on multiplayer across a massive open world. Bethesda is putting it through its paces with a beta test releasing very soon, and you can join in to help explore the wastes and gather technical feedback before its official launch. However, while pre-ordering is your ticket to the beta, it won't necessarily get you in quickly. Here's everything to know about the beta.
When does the beta start?
The beta for Fallout 76 will begin on October 23 on Xbox One, and then expand to PC and PlayStation 4 the following week on October 30. Pre-loading for the Xbox One version is now available. The first session on Xbox One will begin at 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT and end at 11 PM ET / 8 PM PT on October 23.
Even if you've received a code, though, you may not necessarily be invited to the first wave. Bethesda plans to start small to stress test the game and expand slowly, so your actual start date may vary.
A separate pre-beta stress test also took place starting on October 13. That one was exclusive to Xbox One Insiders who have pre-ordered the game, and even then fulfilling those criteria only entered them into the pool of possible participants. Players of this stress test were under NDA and unlike the beta, game progress was not saved.
How long will the beta last?
Bethesda has not given a specific end-date for the beta, but it has explained that the servers won't be available 24/7 during the beta period. The studio says it will be running "targeted time frames" to force interested players together at the same time, which in turn will mark a better technical test. The game may be available for 4-8 hours on any given day, with Bethesda making adjustments and fixes during the off periods. This process will repeat until a few days before launch on November 14.
How do I get in?
The beta will be available exclusively for those who pre-order the game across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Digital pre-orders will be entered into the pool automatically, while physical pre-orders will receive a code to enter into the accounts page once the beta has gone live on your platform of choice.
It's important to note that this code is not the beta code you enter to access the actual game download. Instead, the pre-order code is the one you enter into Bethesda's system to be put into the pool for code distribution. A separate code, which gives you access to the install, will follow at a later time as Bethesda rolls out its invites.
In the meantime, you can be sure you're prepared by creating a free Bethesda.net login. Also, make sure you have an active Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership if you're playing on either console, since those will be required to access the online-only game.
Is the beta the full game?
The Fallout 76 beta is the full experience, and Bethesda says it is currently planning to allow players to carry progress over into the full game. However, console players will need to redownload the launch version, whereas PC players will not need to download a new version upon launch. The beta will be 45 GB.
How do I submit feedback?
Bethesda is inviting feedback across its variety of social media channels.
What else will I get for pre-ordering?
Aside from beta access, pre-ordering will get you 500 Atoms--Fallout 76's in-game currency. Atoms allow you to purchase cosmetic items from the shop. Bethesda has indicated that Atoms will be plentiful, but as we haven't seen the shop or prices yet, it's hard to say just how far 500 Atoms will go.
The beta for Fallout 76 is just about ready to get underway, and those who will be playing on Xbox One can being pre-loading. This test won't be available at all times, but with the first of these nearly here, Bethesda has announced the first window during which you'll be able to play. The initial session will take place today--Tuesday, October 23--from 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT to 11 PM ET / 8 PM PT. The full schedule for the first test follows below.
As previously detailed, Bethesda will be running individual targeted time frames for players to access the beta. The idea is that this will force more players together at a specific time to stress test and put the game through its paces. Sessions will typically last 4-8 hours in a given day, and then the beta will be inoperable again until the next session. The process will repeat over again until November 14.
A beta code is available to anyone who pre-ordered the game across Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Pre-loading is only available on Xbox One for now, since the PC and PS4 betas will begin on October 30. You'll receive a code with your physical pre-order to enter into the accounts page, or you'll be entered into the pool automatically if you pre-order a digital copy. Note that those codes don't grant you access. Rather, they put you into the potential pool of players to get a distribution code later, since Bethesda is rolling out the invites in waves.
Fallout 76 Beta Times (October 23/24)
US Pacific Time: 4 PM - 8 PM (Tuesday, October 23)
US Eastern Time: 7 PM - 11 PM (Tuesday, October 23)
UK BST: 12 AM - 4 AM (Wednesday, October 24)
Australia AEDT: 10 AM - 2 PM (Wednesday, October 24)
Bethesda plans to let to keep your progress from the beta through to the full game. Pre-ordering also will get you 500 Atoms, the in-game currency, for purchasing cosmetic items in the shop.
Fallout 76 is due out on November 14. For more details, check out our guide to everything we know.
Fallout 76's release date is quickly approaching. Bethesda's multiplayer-focused take on the series is set to arrive next month, but some players will have a chance to try it out much sooner than that. Following the recent pre-beta stress test, the publisher is kicking off the first Fallout 76 beta session on Xbox One today, October 23 (before expanding it to PS4 and PC the following week), and those who've qualified are able to pre-load it right now.
The Fallout 76 beta is open exclusively to those who've pre-ordered the game, so if you want to jump in, you'll need to reserve Fallout 76 on your platform of choice. Not everyone who pre-orders will get into the beta right away, however, as Bethesda will gradually invite more players in waves. You'll also need to have an Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus subscription in order to participate.
As Bethesda details on its FAQ page, to download the beta, you'll first need to find the redemption code on your pre-order receipt or in the email confirmation you received. After that, you'll need to log in to Bethesda's website, then input the code using the link on the FAQ. Once that is completed, Bethesda says it will send an email with further instructions.
The first beta session is scheduled to begin at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET and run until 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET. No further dates and times have been announced yet, but Bethesda says it will be running during "targeted time frames." According to the developer, the purpose of the beta is to "stress test and break the game," so players should expect some hiccups along the way. The beta will go on until shortly before the game's launch next month.
Fallout 76 releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 14. Unlike previous installments in the series, 76 is an always-online RPG with an emphasis on multiplayer, which we found makes for a very different kind of Fallout game. You can learn more about the title in our roundup of everything we know about Fallout 76.
The first all-women's PPV in the company's history, WWE Evolution, will air live on the WWE Network on October 28. It's a landmark occasion. Female performers, once considered by some fans as the "bathroom break" portion of the show, will now carry an entire production on their own. And the main event--a title match between Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella, is a sort of meta-commentary on the Women's Evolution, and how the division will continue progressing forward.
The Bellas Twins debuted on the main roster in 2008, and they functioned as models and valets nearly as much as in-ring competitors. Their appearance and their twin gimmick, rather than their in-ring skill, kept them on TV. But in their defense, they were neither an exception nor a special case; they were emblematic of the way that most women wrestlers were promoted a decade ago. The Bellas were the ideal representatives for the era they dominated. And they were a far cry from the mud wrestling, bra and panties, lingerie, and Playboy shenanigans just a few years prior.
Progress is incremental, and the Bellas Twins were a necessary prelude to the current, modern era. They were sexy but not debased. They were passable ring workers, even if they weren't great ones, and they featured in the sort of 5-minute matches that the #GiveDivasAChance movement was built on. And when Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair debuted on Raw, the Bellas took steps to raise their game. Nikki, in particular, evolved into a solid competitor before a serious neck injury sidelined her.
But transitional, intermediary steps to change are rarely celebrated; it's the people who definitively break the mold that get the hype, even if the smaller transitions are necessary to make that break possible.
Nikki and Brie position themselves as underrated pioneers in the Women's Evolution. But even if that's true, they'll never have the same critical acclaim as Lynch, Flair, Banks, and Bayley, who served as a storyline rebuttal to the "Divas Era" that Brie and Nikki dominated.
On the October 15 episode of Raw, Rousey leaned into this perception; in addition to calling the Bellas DNB's (which she claimed was a "PG" acronym for Do-Nothing Bellas), Rousey fired off this controversial zinger:
"My entire career I've been knocking down doors. The only door you ever knocked down was the door to John Cena's bedroom. And he eventually threw you out of that exact same door!"
Brie looked shocked, Nikki looked pissed, and the audience went wild. Some critics have derided Rousey's promo--that it cheapens the women's division to reduces Nikki to a sexual opportunist. But it's also a self-critical, meta indictment of the narrow ways that WWE female performers have been booked and stereotyped in years past--as the supportive girlfriend, the manipulative valet, or the hungry gold digger. And in a subversive way, Rousey came off a little heelish in this exchange because she's attacking two women from an earlier, more limiting era, who cannot be fairly judged on the same merits as the up-and-comers.
Rousey promotes herself similarly to how Paul Heyman promotes Brock Lesnar--as a lethal force that the audience can believe in. And this promo, which implicitly contrasts her own decorated, competitive history to Nikki's scripted one, is a continuation of that narrative. Rousey has more real-life legitimacy than any other woman on the roster, but she is also a recipient of the goodwill they've generated. And although the Bellas are not in Rousey's league, skill-wise, they have a point. They moved the needle by inches--necessary inches--to get the women's division to a current state that would promote Rousey as its champion.
WWE has done something clever. Rather than making Rousey and Nikki's title match at Evolution a comparison of prowess--which Rousey obviously wins--they're making it into a referendum on the Women's Evolution itself, which is more debatable. Who deserves credit? Who broke which ground? Who's underrated and who's overpraised? And who gets to tell this story, when all is said and done?
These are questions that will be litigated for years; everyone wants to take credit for a success. And this storyline is the first of many meta narratives. Let's hope to see more; these feuds are, above all, something that WWE's savviest fans can invest and believe in.
Make sure to come back to GameSpot on Sunday, October 28 for live coverage of Evolution.
WWE's next PPV is a special one, as Evolution will be the first all-women's event for the sports entertainment company. Every match on the card will consist entirely of female competitors. Additionally, the show will also be bringing back some of its legendary wrestlers from the past couple of decades.
Evolution comes to the WWE Network on Sunday, October 28 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET / 11 PM GMT. At this time, we're unsure if a Kickoff Show will open up the show an hour prior. WWE's Evolution will be held at NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York. If you're in the area, tickets are still available for the upcoming event. If you want to check out the event for yourself, you can subscribe to WWE's streaming service for $10 a month, or sign up for a free month and cancel at any time with no obligation.
Thus far, everything on the card is straight fire. The glorious pirate Kairi Sane and her amazing elbow drop continues her rivalry with the Queen of Spades, Shayna Baszler, for the NXT Championship. Also, Charlotte gets a rematch for the Smackdown Women's Championship against the super-arrogant--and super-wonderful--Becky Lynch in a Last Woman Standing match, and the buildup to that match has been phenomenal over the past few weeks.
As of this writing, there are only five matches on the card. There is a week left to go before the show, but we'll keep you updated as more matches are announced.

The Legendary Psychic Pokemon Mewtwo made its debut in standard Raid Battles last month after initially being limited to EX Raids, giving many Pokemon Go players their first opportunity to capture one. If you haven't yet done so, your time is running out, as Mewtwo is set to leave Raids very soon.
The Legendary Psychic Pokemon is scheduled to depart from the game at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET today, October 23, so you have until then to encounter one at Gyms. As is the case with all other Raid Bosses, you'll first need to team up with other players in-person and battle it. If you manage to defeat the Legendary, you'll earn a handful of Premier Balls and the chance to capture it.
Mewtwo remains one of the most popular--and powerful--Legendary Pokemon in the entire series, making it a formidable challenge. On top of that, one of the possible Charged Attacks it can know is Focus Blast, which is super-effective against many Pokemon that would typically have an advantage over it. Your best bet is to challenge Mewtwo using Bug, Dark, and Ghost Pokemon such as Scizor, Tyranitar, and Gengar.
A lot has been happening in Pokemon Go as of late. Earlier this week, Niantic rolled out the first wave of Gen 4 Pokemon, including the Sinnoh starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. There are also a handful of region-exclusive Gen 4 monsters, which have only been appearing in certain parts of the world. No Gen 4 Legendaries have debuted in Pokemon Go just yet, but one--Giratina--was teased at the end of the game's latest trailer, suggesting it could be on its way fairly soon.
Pokemon Go's latest Community Day event took place on Sunday, October 21. During it, players had a much easier time of finding Beldum and hatching Pokemon. They were also able to learn the new attack Meteor Mash by evolving Beldum into a Metagross during the event. You can read everything you need to know about October's Community Day here.
Treyarch has been rolling out updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on a near-daily basis since the shooter launched earlier this month. On top of the latest patch, which makes stability improvements to all modes across PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the developer has shared with fans other aspects of the game it will continue to refine in the coming weeks.
In a post on Reddit, Treyarch discussed its plans to further optimize Black Ops 4's network performance. "We're constantly working to optimize the game, and particularly network performance, to ensure the highest quality online experience for our players," the developer wrote. "Now that we're past the initial launch of the game, we are focusing on fine-tuning network performance around the globe, using the real-world data that we have collected.
"Over the course of the next two weeks, we will roll out several updates to our network setup that will continue to improve upon the experience of our players since launch. As we have always said, launch is just the beginning, and we're committed to making Black Ops 4 the best-supported game we've ever delivered."
The latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 update resolved crashes and other issues across Multiplayer, Blackout, and Zombies modes. This follows the patch Treyarch rolled out last week, which made various fixes to Zombies mode. The developer says it is also investigating other Zombies bugs and will provide an update on those issues "in the coming days." You can read the patch notes on Reddit.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been a critical and commercial success for Activision and Treyarch, breaking the publisher's record for "biggest day-one digital release." It has also been well received by critics. GameSpot awarded it an 8/10 in our Black Ops 4 review. Critic Kallie Plagge wrote, "Sure, there isn't a traditional single-player campaign, but with the depth and breadth of what is there, Black Ops 4 doesn't need it."
Titan Comics has brought some of today's biggest video game franchises to the printed page with its adaptations of Tekken, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and From Software's critically acclaimed action RPG, Bloodborne, among many others. The first issue of Titan's Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep series arrived back in February, but if you've missed out and would like to catch up on the story so far, you now have an opportunity to pick up the first few issues in one collection.
Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep Vol. 1 goes on sale in comic stores and online today, October 23. It collects the first four issues of Titan's Bloodborne series into one 112-page graphic novel. Here's Titan's synopsis of the series: "Awakening in an ancient city plagued by a twisted endemic--where horrific beasts stalk the shadows and the streets run slick with the blood of the damned--a nameless Hunter embarks on a dangerous quest in search of Paleblood... his only escape from the endless Night of the Hunt..."
Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep is written by Ales Kot, whose previous credits include Change, Zero, and Wolf. It features artwork by Piotr Kowalski, who has also worked on Titan's Wolfenstein and Witcher comics, as well as Dark Tower, Sex, and Robocop. Titan has provided GameSpot with an exclusive preview of The Death of Sleep Vol. 1; you can read eight pages from the upcoming collection by clicking through the gallery below. Kowalski shared the following insight on the excerpt:
"During this sequence, I found myself toying with a specific idea: making all the action seem like a video game action (tilted angles, various points of view, action shots as seen by the player's eye). However, I blended this action with a more traditional, European old-school comics style. I think it works."
Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep Vol. 1 retails for $17 / £14. You can find more details on Titan's website. A fifth issue in the series, titled Bloodborne: The Healing Thirst, launched last month. Likewise written and illustrated by Kot and Kowalski, The Healing Thirst "delve[s] into the dark underbelly of the Healing Church."
Bloodborne isn't the only From Software series to receive the comic treatment. Titan has also published a comic based on Dark Souls titled The Age of Fire, a four-issue series written by Ryan O'Sullivan (Void Trip, Warhammer).
