Black Friday is over, but a new set of deals have arrived for Cyber Monday at places like GameStop. On the Xbox Store, nothing has changed in terms of the Xbox One games on sale, but you are running out of time to take advantage, as the sale ends on November 30. You can read on for our picks of the best deals on Xbox Live, but one that suddenly has new value is Red Dead Redemption 2's Ultimate edition. It's discounted on Xbox Live, and we've just learned that owning it will get you into the Red Dead Online beta sooner than other versions. We're only a few days away from the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday 2018, but many retailers and video game publishers aren't waiting until then to roll out their deals. After initially being limited to Xbox Live Gold members, Microsoft has now expanded its annual Black Friday Xbox Live sale to everyone, offering discounts on a ton of recent and popular titles for Xbox One and PC. Much like Sony's PSN sale, Microsoft's Black Friday deals encompass a number of 2018's biggest releases, as well as plenty of great titles from previous years. That includes games that have just launched in the past month or two, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is on sale for everyone for $45. As with Microsoft's weekly Deals with Gold, some of the sale items also offer an additional percentage off for Gold subscribers, so you can get some particularly good deals if you're a member of the premium online service. If you aren't, you find some good deals on Xbox Live subscriptions this year as well. A handful of big-name exclusives arrived on Xbox One this past year, most of which are discounted as part of this sale. The zombie survival game State of Decay 2 is $19.49, while the shared-world pirate adventure Sea of Thieves drops down to $30. You can also get Forza Horizon 4, the latest installment in the acclaimed open-world driving series, for $39. Like all of Microsoft's first-party games, these are also available to stream through the Xbox Game Pass service. If you're interested in trying it out, you can find nice deals on Xbox Game Pass subscriptions from various retailers. 2018 was also a big year for multiplatform releases, so if you've been holding off on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you can pick them up now at some good prices. Click through the gallery above to see some of the best deals available in the Xbox Live Black Friday sale, and head over to the official Xbox website to see the full list of discounts. Thanks to Microsoft's Play Anywhere feature, buying many of the titles on this list from the Microsoft Store allows you to play them on both Xbox One and PC. There are only a few days remaining until Black Friday rolls around. Be sure to check out our full Black Friday coverage below. You can also peruse our Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop guides for a look at the deals those retailers will be offering ahead of and on the big shopping day. Best Black Friday DealsAll The Game Deals Assassin's Creed Odyssey -- $40.19
Like 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins, this year's installment in Ubisoft's long-running stealth action series offers players more in-depth role-playing opportunities, starting with the option to play as either a male or female lead. The game also spins a lengthy story that will take you across ancient Greece and pit you against fearsome foes, both historical and mythological. Odyssey is on sale for everyone for $45, but those with an Xbox Live Gold subscription can snag it for the even sweeter price of $40.19. See all the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Black Friday deals Read our Assassin's Creed Odyssey review Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 -- $48
This year's installment in Activision's blockbuster shooter series may not feature a traditional single-player campaign, but it more than makes up for it with an even bigger focus on multiplayer. On top of the standard suite of multiplayer options found in previous Black Ops games, Black Ops 4 features a robust Zombies mode, as well as its own take on the ever-popular battle royale genre in Blackout. The game is on sale for everyone for $54, while Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get it for $48. See all the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Friday deals Read our Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 review Cuphead -- $16
The stylish and fiendishly challenging side-scrolling shooter Cuphead was one of Xbox One's most beloved exclusives in 2017. Featuring a stunning visual style inspired by 1930s cartoons plus intense run-and-gun gameplay and difficult boss battles, the game made a big splash when it finally arrived on the Microsoft Store last September--more than three years after it was first announced. If you've yet to download Cuphead, you can pick it up now for 20%. Read our Cuphead review Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection -- $36
Destiny 2's big Forsaken expansion arrived back in September and introduced a wealth of new content to the loot-driven online shooter. Along with a darker, more personal story that sends players on a mission to avenge the fallen Cayde-6, it adds new weapons, quests, and the Gambit mode, which we described as a "clever combination of seemingly disparate elements." The Forsaken Legendary Collection comes with an instant level 30 character boost and runs for $42, but Xbox Live Gold members can get it for $36. See all the Destiny 2 Black Friday deals Read our Destiny 2 review Forza Horizon 4 -- $39
Forza Horizon 4 takes Playground Games' critically acclaimed driving series to the breathtaking roads of the United Kingdom. Building upon its predecessors with an extensive roster of vehicles, an improved progression system, a larger emphasis on online functionality, and the introduction of seasons, which affect the game world in tangible ways, Forza Horizon 4 represents a new benchmark for the franchise and is one of Microsoft's best exclusives of the year. It's also one of Microsoft's Play Anywhere titles, so buying it from the Microsoft Store gets you access to the game on both Xbox One and PC. See all Forza Horizon 4 Black Friday deals Read our Forza Horizon 4 review Forza Motorsport 7 -- $25
If you prefer driving around the track to the country side, last year's installment in the Forza franchise, Forza Motorsport 7, is also discounted as part of Xbox Live's big Black Friday sale. Boasting more than 700 cars and a handful of new features for the series such as customizable drivers and a dynamic weather system, Forza Motorsport 7 remains one of the deepest driving sims on Xbox One. Like Horizon 4, Forza Motorsport 7 is a Play Anywhere title, so you can pick it up from the Microsoft Store and play it on either Xbox One or PC. Read our Forza Motorsport 7 review Gears Of War 4 -- $10
The first entry in the popular franchise to hit Xbox One, Gears of War 4 marks a new beginning of sorts for the series. Set some 25 years after Gears of War 3, the game follows JD Fenix, the son of series veteran Marcus Fenix, as he battles a new subterranean threat and the Coalition of Ordered Governments. At $10, now would be a good time to catch up on the series before its next entry, Gears 5, arrives in 2019. Read our Gears of War 4 review Ori And The Blind Forest: Definitive Edition -- $10
Ori and the Blind Forest captured the attention of fans and critics alike when it first launched in 2015 thanks to its beautiful visual style, Metroid-inspired gameplay, and heartrending tale. With its follow-up, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, set to launch in 2019, now is the perfect time to dive into the original and see what all the fuss is about. The Definitive Edition comes with the base game and a slew of additional content, including new areas, abilities, and story sequences. It's on sale for everyone for $12, but Xbox Live Gold members can save a little more and pick it up for $10. Read our Ori and the Blind Forest review PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds -- $18
PUBG took the world by storm when it first hit Steam last year, kicking off the influx of battle royale games that would follow. The shooter would arrive in early access on Xbox One at the end of 2017, and since then, developer PUBG Corp. has introduced new maps, weapons, and a slew of other additions to the game. While it's slated to make its way to PS4 next month, Xbox One remains the only console you can currently get PUBG on, and if you have Xbox Live Gold, you can pick it up now for $18 (while everyone else can buy it for $21). See all the PUBG Black Friday deals Read our PUBG review Sea Of Thieves -- $30
Sea of Thieves is the latest adventure from Rare, the iconic studio behind Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie. The always-online shared-world game puts players in the boots of a pirate, allowing you to form a crew with friends and sail the high seas in search of treasure (or other players to plunder). While the title suffered from a lack of content at launch, Rare has rolled out a steady stream of expansions for it over the past few months, introducing new quests, modes, and nautical terrors to face. Read our Sea of Thieves review Shadow Of The Tomb Raider -- $30
The third--and darkest--chapter in Lara Croft's rebooted origin story, Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes the eponymous explorer to the remote jungles of Central America, where she must prevent a Mayan apocalypse she triggered from unfolding while also thwarting the shadowy organization Trinity. Despite only launching back in September, you can pick the game up from the Microsoft Store for $36, while those with an Xbox Live Gold membership can get it at an enticing $30. See all the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Black Friday deals Read our Shadow of the Tomb Raider review State Of Decay 2 -- $19.50
Much like its popular Xbox 360 predecessor, State of Decay 2 is a zombie survival game in which players must explore a dilapidated, post-apocalyptic world for food, medical supplies, and crafting materials in order to stand a chance against the shambling undead monsters that have taken over. Since launch, the studio has rolled out a handful of DLC packs for the game, the most recent of which--Zed Hunter--arrived this month and added a variety of new consumables and weapons, such as the crossbow. Cyber Monday has officially begun with Black Friday now behind us, and in terms of the Eshop, that means the end of the sale is drawing nearer. Some games have been added to the lineup since the sale first began, but it's still largely the same. You can read on for our picks of the best game deals. If you're running out of space, Cyber Monday is a good time to pick up a new microSDXC card for your Switch. Other Switch games and hardware are also on sale right now. Nintendo's Cyber Deals sale--which spans both Black Friday and Cyber Monday--is officially live on the Eshop. The digital sale runs between now and November 28 at 9 AM PT (12 PM ET). And while you won't find as many titles on sale on the Eshop as you will on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, the deals that are available tend to be on particularly fantastic games. In our 9/10 Celeste review, Oscar Dayus wrote, "It's a testament to convincing writing and ingenious design that after playing Celeste I felt like I'd been on the same journey as Madeline. Her struggle is one made easy to empathize with, her low points painful to watch, and her high notes exhilarating to experience. Her tale is delicately told and beautifully illustrated, confidently coalescing with the satisfying, empowering game it lies within. Not bad for a game about climbing a mountain." Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
In our 6/10 Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy review, Peter Brown wrote, " It's easy to imagine how a dyed-in-the-wool Crash fan will fall in love all over again via the N. Sane Trilogy, but if you're experiencing Crash for the first time--or the first time in a while--it might pain you to realize that Crash's original adventures aren't as inventive or surprising as they were 20 years ago." Dead Cells
In our 9/10 Dead Cells review, Daniel Starkey wrote, "Dead Cells is a phenomenal effort to blend together some very disparate genres into a tight, cohesive whole. It's one of the better examples of how to remix ideas without losing their individual strengths." Doom
In our 7/10 Doom review for Nintendo Switch Peter Brown wrote, "If you can stand to look at a lesser version of Doom's once captivating world, you'll find that the game plays well enough on Switch so long as you've got a TV in front of you and a Pro Controller in hand. There's nothing else like it on a portable system, but be prepared to face a handful of compromises, especially if you're used to playing on other platforms." The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
In our 8/10 Skyrim on Switch review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "The original version of Skyrim is still an immense, engrossing RPG, and the quality, number, and variety of its quests makes it as easy to become lost in its world as ever. With the addition of Zelda-themed gear that's actually useful--and the fact that you can play anywhere--the Switch version of Skyrim is a great excuse to revisit a much-loved RPG." FIFA 19
In our 5/10 FIFA 19 Switch review, Oscar Dayus wrote, "FIFA 19 [is] a playable, competent game of football encased in a package of outdated modes and lacking the controls and features you really want." Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD
In our 7/10 Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD review, Justin Clark wrote, "All these things have been admirably translated, in a way far less intimidating to newcomers and logistically fascinating to veterans. You get the parts of that experience that count the most towards the narrative from Pocket Edition, and the gameplay, rudimentary it may be, has been as elegantly streamlined as possible to obtain that experience. This is still, ultimately, Final Fantasy XV, and while there's a lot of the game that you might want out of Pocket Edition, there's an argument to be made that this version of FFXV will serve you just fine." The Messenger
In our 8/10 The Messenger review, Alexander Pan wrote, "The Messenger takes the best parts of the action-platformers it takes influence from and reinterprets them well. With clever writing, well-designed levels, and balanced difficulty curve, the game continuously hooks you with enticing skill-based challenges and satisfying payoffs. Your character might have an immediate imperative to delivering a world-saving scroll, but the journey there is definitely one to savor." NBA 2K19
In our 7/10 NBA 2K19 review, Michael Higham wrote, "It's impressive that the game of basketball has translated to controllers and screens in the way it has. If you want to immerse yourself in the sport and culture, NBA 2K19 has you covered with a breadth of content. But even that has its limitations after several years of iterations. Although those willing to grind for everything will eventually get rewarded, the system of VC still comes off as exploitative. But there's a lot of fun to be had in NBA 2K19 despite its flaws, especially if you have a strong love for the sport." Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove includes the core game, plus three expansions, two of which are already available, with the third scheduled to release in 2019. In our 7/10 Shovel Knight review, Tom McShea wrote, "No matter which era it had been released in, Shovel Knight would have been embraced. Its inherent charms are timeless. Shovel Knight is a good reminder that game design does age but can never die and that simple mechanics can still be immensely satisfying." Sonic Mania
In our 9/10 Sonic Mania review, Matt Espinelli wrote, "Sonic Mania methodically uses its sentimental appeal to great effect, but in the process, it heals the wounds inflicted by its most disappointing predecessors and surpasses the series' best with its smart and interpretive design. An excellent 2D platformer, Sonic Mania goes beyond expectations, managing to be not only a proper evolution of the series' iconic formula, but the best Sonic game ever made." South Park: The Stick of Truth
In our 7/10 South Park: The Stick of Truth review, Kevin VanOrd wrote, "South Park: The Stick of Truth is not the second coming of role-playing games, so if you come seeking Jesus, you'll be disappointed by the veritable second-rate televangelist you find in His place. But it's as funny as the merry tune of Stratford, and more enjoyable than Butters' favorite game, Hello Kitty: Island Adventure." Thumper
In our 9/10 Thumper review, Peter Brown wrote, "It sounds odd to claim that a lack of consistently original music wouldn't be a major problem for a rhythm game, but music isn't the point. Thumper thrives due to the way it marries speed, simple controls, and mesmerizing atmosphere. It's far more convincing in VR, where you're enveloped in the game's space and free of distractions from the outside world, but it shouldn't be ignored by those without the appropriate hardware. Thumper, no matter how you play it, is too good to miss." Undertale
In our 9/10 Undertale review, Tyler Hicks wrote, "Without spoiling the many ways it will screw with your expectations, it isn't possible to truly capture how wonderful Undertale is. You wouldn't know it with a passing glance, but it's one of the most progressive and innovative RPGs to come in a long time, breaking down tradition for the sake of invention, with great success." Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
In our 8/10 Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "As long as you're able to play the entire game in docked mode, The New Colossus is the same fantastic game it is on other platforms. It runs well and, despite some minor visual compromises, it still looks pretty good. Handheld mode is unfortunately far less optimized, and the Joy-Cons simply don't feel as good to use as the Pro Controller. If Switch is your only way to play it, The New Colossus is absolutely worth your time--just not on the go."
By Array on Nov 26, 2018 10:37 pm Best Steam "Autumn Sale" Cyber Monday 2018 Game Deals
Black Friday is over, but Cyber Monday deals are now taking over the internet. On Steam, nothing specifically has changed; the Autumn sale is still ongoing with the same offers, which is good news for those who might not have gotten to check it out yet. The sale ends Tuesday morning (US time), making this your last chance to take advantage of its discounted prices. Of course, this being a Steam sale, there's a ton to digest, so we've done our best here to round up our favorite deals. Be sure to share your picks in the comments below. This isn't an official Black Friday sale, but don't let that stop you from saving lots of cash on PC games. Steam has launched its annual Autumn Sale, which serves as the equivalent of the digital storefront's sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Steam operator Valve is known for offering games at a discount for most of the year round, so it takes the annual shopping event as an opportunity to dig even deeper than usual. As a result there are plenty of sales to be had. The Autumn Sale lasts through November 27 at 10 AM PT. Alongside some of the software listed below, Steam is also offering discounts on its own hardware, like 30% off a Steam Controller, or the soon to be hard-to-find Steam Link for $2.50. In some cases you may be better off using a third-party that distributes Steam codes like Fanatical, so be sure to comparison shop even when the bargains look great. Alongside the Steam Autumn Sale, the company is hosting the Steam Awards. These user-voted awards are giving accolades for some expected categories like Game of the Year and VR Game of the Year, along with more esoteric categories like The Labor of Love Award and the Best Alternate History Award. Participating by casting your ballot can earn you XP and badges on your Steam profile. Check out below for a selection of some of our favorite games discounted in the Steam Autumn Sale, and plan your purchases accordingly. Best Black Friday DealsAll The Game Deals Valkyria Chronicles 4 - $30
Valkyria Chronicles has had its ups and downs as a series, but this latest entry is a return to form. The strategy series follows a loose retelling of World War 2 as a dreadful fascistic army ruthlessly takes over lands. This being an RPG, of course, the telling is supplemented by magical elements, but Valkyria Chronicles was first and foremost memorable for its strong characters and surprising themes. Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes the series to a new theater of war and adds some new mechanics, but it ultimately keeps all the systems in place that made the original a cult classic. Buy Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Steam Read our Valkyria Chronicles 4 review Yakuza 0 -- $13.39
The long-running Yakuza series is known for its juxtaposition of a serious story and wacky side activity hijinks, and Yakuza 0 makes for a perfect entry point. Set years before previous entries, this serves as a fine introduction to Kiryu and company. While its combat system is fairly basic, it's still satisfying to beat fools down with a giant motorcycle in between karaoke sessions. Buy Yakuza 0 on Steam Read our Yakuza 0 review Hollow Knight -- $10
You're a fragile beetle when you first start Hollow Knight and begin your descent into its massive subterranean world. As you explore, you'll find many powerful enemies, including intimidating bosses that can overtake you in just a few swipes. But if you stick with it, you'll gain all sorts of new powers and abilities, unlocking new areas, and unraveling the many mysteries of this gorgeous underground world. It's an adventure worth taking. Buy Hollow Knight on Steam Read our Hollow Knight review Shadow of the Tomb Raider -- $30
Crystal Dynamics' reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise has been met with quite a bit of acclaim. While Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third post-reboot entry, stumbled a bit with fans and critics, there's still a lot to like about the game--especially at half off. An even stronger focus on exploring tombs and an emphasis on the dark and spooky dangers within means there are lots of cool depths into which to delve. New stealth mechanics make Lara Croft even deadlier and encourage new strategies. And new DLC through the season pass introduces cooperative play through some puzzle-heavy levels that shift the dynamic of the game. If you're a Tomb Raider fan, this is a great price at which to check out Shadow. Buy Shadow of the Tomb Raider Read our Shadow of the Tomb Raider review Sonic Games -- 66-85% off
Sega's output of games starring its iconic blue hedgehog certainly hasn't slowed down in the mascot's 27-year history. Sonic has had some serious ups and downs in that time, but if you're a hardcore series fan, you're likely in it for the long haul. Luckily for you, many of the blue blur's most iconic adventures and spin-offs are on sale, so if you've been holding off on grabbing certain entries you might've missed, now's your chance. If you've yet to play any Sonic games, the original Sega Genesis trilogy and the Sonic Adventure games are each priced below $5. You can also pick up the wonderful Sonic Generations for $5, as well as both his kart racing spin-offs together for under $10. But let's face it, the game you should really be playing is Sonic Mania, an astounding throwback adventure that showcases why Sonic games were so fun, while also expanding its fast-paced 2D platforming in new and exciting ways. It'll be the best $6.79 you spend in a long time. Traditionally, Far Cry games find Americans traveling to faraway lands that are overtaken by enemy groups you can kill on sight. This year's installment takes place in Hope County Montana, a swath of land that's been seized by an apocalyptic murder cult. Your job is to run, drive, fly, and wingsuit your way into the many enemy compounds dotting the landscape, bringing them down with as much or as little firepower as you see fit. In short, it's a whole lot of dumb fun. Buy Far Cry 5 on Steam Read our Far Cry 5 review Final Fantasy Series -- 50% off
The Final Fantasy series has been around for decades, making big-budget games in the not-always-popular JRPG genre. And unlike some other series--ahem, Dragon Quest--each installment brings new ideas (and usually entirely new worlds) to the table. Most Final Fantasy games are half off on Steam right now, making it a perfect time to fill out your game library with any that are missing. And if you're new to the series, you can try the latest one, Final Fantasy XV, or one of the time-tested classics, like Final Fantasy VII. Buy Final Fantasy IV on Steam Buy Final Fantasy VII on Steam Buy Final Fantasy IX on Steam Buy Final Fantasy XV on Steam Read our Final Fantasy XV review Read our Final Fantasy VII review Nier Automata -- $30
Nier Automata is much more than the hack-and-slash action RPG you see at first glance. Gameplay-wise, you'll be tasked to fight from different perspectives and occasionally take control of a mech that transforms the game into a top-down shooter. Being effective in traditional combat means you'll be dodging at the precise moment and firing off your pod, and you'll be configuring a chipset that acts as a set of abilities to cater to your playstyle. However, that's not what makes Nier Automata the tremendous game it is. Series producer Yoko Taro has a knack for unconventional storytelling, and he pulls out all the stops here. There are many layers to this tale of android existentialism with multiple playthroughs, alternate endings, and ambiguous story elements all contributing its overall impact. Its soundtrack has a significant role, too, as it communicates tone as strongly as any line of dialogue. You'll be thinking about this game well after you've completed all its story paths. Buy Nier Automata on Steam Read our Nier Automata review Resident Evil franchise -- 35-80% off
The granddaddy of the survival horror genre has gone through so many iterations, reboots, alterations, and retcons that there's something for just about anyone to enjoy. The series has been hugely influential through the years, setting the stage for survival horror games of the 1990s with Resident Evil, then upending the formula and redefining third-person shooters with Resident Evil 4. You can get zombie-blasting co-op play in Resident Evil 5 and 6, dial back to a more story-focused experience with the Revelations series, or watch RE simultaneously cover new ground and return to its roots with the excellent Resident Evil 7. If you're a horror fan, there are plenty of Resident Evil games you shouldn't miss, and Steam has them all at deep discounts. The core of Dead Cells is a hack-'n-slash rogue-lite that sees you fighting your way through a satisfying cycle of killing, dying, learning, and repeating. The game keeps things interesting by interspersing a few minor moments of Metroidvania-inspired exploration, allowing you to find abilities that permanently unlock certain areas. New enemies pop up in every level, and each one proves more challenging than the last. However, Dead Cells' responsive controls and easy-to-grasp mechanics means you're never at a complete disadvantage. Even when you do die, the quick respawn time has you itching to get back into the fight and try out a different strategy or weapon combination against whatever killed you. Buy Dead Cells on Steam Read our Dead Cells review Danganronpa series -- $45
The murder-mystery series of Danganronpa games are all well worth a look for visual novel fans. Each game's cast of distinct, eccentric characters makes the story well worth seeing through, and the class trials where you determine who carried out a murder are almost always full of fun twists. The entire core series can be had for $45 right now, or you can pick up just the first game (Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, pictured above) for a mere $10 if you'd prefer to just try a taste. Even in a year rife with marquee releases, the latest chapter in Square Enix's illustrious RPG franchise, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, stands as one of the best games of 2018. Featuring a touching tale, a charming cast of characters, and traditional turn-based combat (accentuated by new mechanics like the pep system), Dragon Quest XI is a must-play for RPG fans. And as one of the more recent releases on this list, Dragon Quest XI hasn't been on the receiving end of too many discounts, making this a good opportunity to pick the game up if you haven't yet. Buy Dragon Quest XI on Steam Read our Dragon Quest XI review Into the Breach -- $10
One of the year's best new strategy games, Into the Breach hasn't seen many discounts, so hacking $5 off an already reasonable price makes this one of the most irresistible deals in Steam's sale. From the same developer as the excellent FTL, Into the Breach puts you in command of a group of mechs on a tile-based map and tasks you with defending buildings from invading monsters. What distinguishes it is the level of transparency it provides: You know exactly what enemies will do on their turn and what effect your actions will have, making it into a game of chess that does away with the guesswork. It's immensely satisfying, particularly when manipulating enemies' positioning to make them attack each other rather than their intended targets. Teamwork makes the dream work in Full Metal Furies, a challenging game that features strategic brawler combat and puzzling riddles. You can either go it alone as two of the four women who compose the Furies, or team up with three others in co-op play. The Furies' quest across their war-torn world to kill the monstrous Titans is not without its drama, but it's mostly a humorous collection of tongue-in-cheek skits. When Triss, Alex, Erin, and Meg aren't goofing off or killing monsters, they're trying to solve the collection of riddles marked on mysterious stones hidden throughout their world. Figuring out each riddle is key to unlocking Full Metal Furies' extended ending, but you'll have to think outside the box--and sometimes even look to resources outside the game itself--to figure them all out. Capcom's long-running Monster Hunter series has cultivated a passionate following thanks to its deep loot and crafting systems, but the franchise has traditionally struggled to attract a wide audience. That all changed with the release of Monster Hunter World, which makes some smart tweaks to the series' formula in order to to open it up to newer players, all without sacrificing any of the depth that has made it so beloved among fans. With a regular stream of updates and seasonal events, there is plenty to see and do in the New World, whether you're a new hunter or a seasoned veteran. Black Friday is now passed, but Cyber Monday is here to take its place. In the case of Sony's PSN sale, it's still ongoing--you have until Tuesday morning (US time) to take advantage of its many PS4 game deals. Nothing in the sale itself has changed, so you can read on for a look at what's on sale. Elsewhere, we're seeing new sales at places like GameStop and Target, the latter of which has a blanket 15% off promo that lets you make your own deal, including on DualShock 4s ($34) and Spyro Reignited Trilogy ($34). Black Friday 2018 has started, which means there are lots of discounts out there for you to take advantage of. Among those price drops is the PlayStation Network; Sony has launched its PSN sale on digital PS4 games and there's quite a lot on sale. Here we're taking a look at our recommendations for the best PSN sale deals on PS4--one place where you don't have to worry about things selling out, provided you act by the end of the sale on November 27 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. The PS4 Black Friday sale is a nice mixture of new games, a few from earlier in 2018, and some from before that too. In a surprise move, after the sale first started, Sony added Spider-Man to the mix, letting you get the base game for $40. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is still quite new but drops to $48. For those that have been looking for an opportunity to pick up Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the sale has the standard edition available for $41, which is down from $60. The deluxe, gold, and ultimate editions of the game are also available for between $20 - $30 off the usual asking price. If you'd like a little PlayStation nostalgia, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is down to $20, which is a pretty good price considering the package contains the original Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped. Beyond that, there's Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion for $30 and Detroit: Become Human for $22. Perhaps the most enticing deal of them all is God of War for $22. If you own a PS4, that's a must-play, and at that price it's also a no-brainer. In terms of older titles, Arkane's Dishonored 2 is being bundled with Prey for $26, while Blizzard's Diablo: Eternal Collection is $20. In both instances, that's a lot of game for a relatively low price tag. Keep reading to see all the best game deals we've found in the PlayStation Black Friday sale. If you'd like to see the full list of discounted, head over to the PlayStation Blog. Best Black Friday DealsAll The Game Deals Assassin's Creed Odyssey -- $40
This year's entry in Ubisoft's open-world series, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, picks up where its predecessor, Origins, left off, offering players more in-depth role-playing opportunities and spinning a big story that will have them interacting with numerous little and large characters as they journey across ancient Greece. See all the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Black Friday deals Read our Assassin's Creed Odyssey review Assassin's Creed Origins -- $24
It might be 2017's Assassin's Creed title, but Origins still has plenty to offer. If the unique setting--a painstaking recreation of ancient Egypt--wasn't enough, Origins has arguably the series' most charismatic lead character since Assassin's Creed 2's Ezio. Bayek is an incredibly likeable hero, and his journey to avenge the death of a family member is worth experiencing. Read our Assassin's Creed Origins review Batman: Return To Arkham -- $5
Good superhero games are very few and far between. In 2018, Insomniac Games, Marvel, and Sony have been very kind to fans of Spider-Man by releasing a stellar take on the web-slinger's adventure. If that has given you an itch for virtual vigilantism, Batman: Return to Arkham is the perfect game to scratch it. When it comes to superhero games, Rocksteady's series is the high bar which all others aspire to meet, delivering beautiful worlds, faithful characterization, varied gameplay, and engaging stories in each of the three games in the collection. Black Ops 4 drops Call of Duty's story campaign in favour of going bigger on multiplayer. While the standard multiplayer suite is present, accounted for, and still an electrifying experience for those after gunplay at a breakneck pace, the star of the show this year is Blackout--Call of Duty's take on the battle royale experience. If you've wanted a polished battle royale game that has the satisfying feedback of a Call of Duty game, this is it. Of course, there's also a robust Zombies mode too. See all the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Friday deals Read our Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 review Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy -- $20
Last year, Vicarious Visions brought back a PlayStation icon in fine fashion. While some of the gameplay is undoubtedly dated, which in turn might leave newcomers scratching their heard about what all the fuss was about, for those that have cherished memories of munching down Wumpa Fruit, running from giant boulders, and crushing wooden boxes, this will be a nice trip down memory lane. Read our Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy review Destiny 2: Forsaken -- $30
If you're a longtime Destiny 2 player, Forsaken is an expansion that will give you a lot of what you've been asking for. It's a large serving of fresh content that has a rejuvenating effect on Bungie's loot-driven shooter. However, it also places a great deal of emphasis on its darker, more personal story. The new Gambit mode, which we described as a "clever combination of seemingly disparate elements," is also a welcome new addition. See all the Destiny 2 Black Friday deals Read our Destiny 2 review Detroit: Become Human -- $22
If it's a narrative-driven game you're looking for this holiday season, Detroit: Become Human may be worth considering. Developed by Quantic Dream, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, it asks players to make touch decisions in a story that touches on complicated subject matter such as humanity, free will, and oppression. Read our Detroit: Become Human review Diablo 3: Eternal Collection -- $20
Diablo 3 is an excellent entry in Blizzard's dungeon crawling series. After a somewhat shaky launch, it has been updated repeatedly to refine the experience and provide more meaningful content for players to hack and slash their way through. The Eternal Collection collects all of the post-release content into one package, so you'll get the base game, the Necromancer class, and the Reaper of Souls expansion. The gameplay experience has been tweaked to suit controllers, so it's just as good on console as it is on PC. Read our Diablo 3 review Dishonored 2 & Prey Bundle -- $26
Arkane Studios has become the leading developer of open-world action games that afford players the freedom to approach each of its challenges in a variety of ways. Whether it's facing the corruption rife in Karnaca or the spread of deadly organisms on Talos I, both Dishonored 2 and Prey will deliver unique, rewarding gameplay opportunities. Both games encourage outside-of-the-box thinking and creative problem solving, and are well worth checking out for that price. Read our Dishonored 2 review Read our Prey review God of War -- $22
God of War manages to achieve what some thought could not be done: Bringing back Kratos, a character that has spent his entire video gaming career murdering gods ruthlessly without a shred of remorse or a thought given to consequence, and humanizes him. 2018's God of War reboot takes place many years after the originals and now Kratos has a son to raise, which means he is set on ensuring the apple falls as far from the tree as possible. Their journey together is a heartfelt depiction of strained father and son relationships, and a fascinating deconstruction of a character most thought of as being one-dimensional. See all God of War deals Read our God of War review Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition -- $15
One of 2017's big surprises, Horizon: Zero Dawn is developed by Guerrilla Games, the studio known for the Killzone series. Horizon was a big departure for the studio, which traded linear first-person shooting for open-world hunting. But Guerrilla's execution was spectacular; from its compelling main character and beautiful world to its intricate hunting gameplay, Horizon: Zero Dawn was hailed as one of the best games of 2017 and, to this day, remains an impressive technical showpiece for the PlayStation 4. Read our Horizon: Zero Dawn review Persona 5 -- $20
Persona 5 is a game about waking up, getting up, getting out there. It encourages the youth of the world to raise their voice against liars; to feed their anger like fire. It asks, why does nobody want change? Through a cast of colorful characters--the majority of which are idealistic teens striving to create a better world--it invites players to just imagine they're out there, swatting lies in the makin'. It's a high-energy reminder that you can't move fast without breakin' and if you hold on life won't change. Play it. Read our Persona 5 review Spider-Man -- $40
Insomniac's hit Spider-Man game looked as if it would go without any discounts this Black Friday (outside of its inclusion in the $200 PS4 system bundle), but after PSN's sale first started, it was added to the lineup. You can find the base game for $39.59, while the Digital Deluxe edition is $60. The latter includes various bonus content, most notably the three announced DLC expansions--two of which are now available. Spider-Man does a terrific job of letting you live out the Spidey experience. You've got a large city to swing around, Batman: Arkham-style combat that leverages a wide variety of gadgets, and numerous Easter eggs and references for fans to enjoy. Read our Spider-Man review

And now, onto Best Buy's best game deals of Black Friday 2018. 1-Year PlayStation Plus Subscription -- $40
While you'd typically have to pay $60 for a year of PlayStation Plus--the online service for PlayStation 4 that gives you access to free games everything month, cloud storage, and exclusive multiplayer access for specific games--Best Buy will hook you up for only $40 during its Black Friday sale. Even if you have a subscription going, the year you purchase will simply be tallied on top of your current plan. Buy at Best Buy: PlayStation Plus Xbox One X w/ Battlefield V & Extra Controller -- $430
An Xbox One X will usually run you $500, whether for a standalone console or with a free game--who wouldn't take the latter? $500 is a lot of money, of course, but for $70 off, with an extra controller (a $50 value) and a copy of Battlefield V, Black Friday might be the best time to splurge on an X with Best Buy selling the bundle for only $430. Even with Microsoft discounting its consoles by $100 from Nov. 18 to Nov. 26, this bundle is still a great deal. Buy at Best Buy: Xbox One X Consoles 1-Year Xbox Game Pass Subscription -- $70
Like PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass is an online subscription service that adds everyday value to your console by way of giving you a rotating selection of games to play. Unlike PS Plus, the number of games is vastly higher, at over 100 different titles, and games will be slowly cycled in and out over time, rather than monthly, as is the norm for PS Plus. The cherry on top: if you like a game enough that you'd rather own it than play it on a temporary basis, Game Pass owners enjoy a 20% discount on games that are also available on the service. Buy at Best Buy: Xbox One Game Pass PSVR with Astro Bot and Moss -- $200
With Tetris Effect making waves recently, there are a lot of people wondering if now is the time to pickup a PSVR headset. Though not as widely talked about, both Astro Bot and Moss are two other well-received VR games in recent memory, and they might be the icing on the cake if you pickup the headset bundle with those two games for the cost of the headset alone, at $200, on Black Friday. To put the savings in context: this bundle is normally $300. Buy at Best Buy: PSVR Moss and Astro Bot Bundle Fallout 76 with Blackout Yeti mic -- $100
Fallout 76 will have launched only days before Black Friday arrives, yet it's part of a very good deal on a bundled Yeti mic, in the Blackout color scheme (normally $140 alone). That bundle is available today, but at an increased cost of 50% over the Black Friday price, at $150; save $50 during Black Friday if this bundle helps you check off two "needs" at once. Buy at Best Buy: Fallout 76 and Blackout Yeti God of War for PlayStation 4 -- $25
God of War is one the most beloved games of the year, and if you haven't played it, Best Buy selling it for a mere $25 is as good a sign as any that your time has come. As far as we can tell this is the cheapest it's ever been, so don't hesitate to pick it up if you've been waiting. Buy at Best Buy: God of War SoulCalibur 6 -- $35
SoulCalibur VI has only been out for a few weeks, and by all accounts it's an excellent fighting game that has rekindled interest in the series at large. The fact that Best Buy will be selling it for a paltry $35 is hard to believe, but believe it, and jump on the deal when it goes live later this month. Buy at Best Buy: PS4 Xbox One Bayonetta 2 -- $40
Nintendo is known to keep the price of its games at the original MSRP for years after release. So when you see a deal for a game like Bayonetta 2 on the horizon, it's worth paying attention if you've got Nintendo on the mind. Not only is Bayonetta 2 an incredible action game, but it's just half the story here--every copy also includes a download code for the original Bayonetta on the Switch eShop. In other words: you can get two excellent games for less than the price of one. Buy at Best Buy: Bayonetta 2 Assassin's Creed Odyssey -- $30
Speaking of heavy discounts on new and popular games, Assassin's Creed Odyssey for half price at $30 is a heck of a deal. Odyssey veers sharply into RPG territory, more so than last year's Origins, and is a massive game dense with missions and interesting people to meet. This is the cheapest it's ever been, so what're you waiting for? Buy at Best Buy: PS4 Xbox One Forza Horizon 4 -- $30
Whether you are into more serious simulation racing games, or prefer a bit of arcade action behind the wheel, the Forza series has a game for you. The Horizon games take the more hardcore racing model of the Motorsport series and soften the difficulty a bit to let you explore a vast open world at your leisure. It's one of the best-looking racing games on consoles, and it offers an incredibly detailed and varied world with seasons that change week-to-week. Buy at Best Buy: Forza Horizon 4 Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age -- $30
Dragon Quest is a classic series, and one of the most popular in Japan. The latest game, Dragon Quest XI, is very comfortable upholding tradition, and focusing on the basics isn't a bad thing--it works in the series' favor. In Dragon Quest XI, players can enjoy a highly refined iteration of the seminal Japanese RPG formula that kicked off an entire genre. Dragon Quest XI is a massive, great looking, and infinitely charming game that may fly under a lot of people's radars, but it's a steal at $30. If you have any interest in seeing why Dragon Quest is such a big deal in Japan, now is the perfect time to test the waters. Buy at Best Buy: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

It's Sunday night, and Walmart's sale comes to an end at 11:59 PM ET. That makes this your last chance to take advantage of these sales before Cyber Monday starts. Walmart's Cyber Monday deals have already been previewed, but we don't have the full lineup until the day begins. Black Friday 2018 is over but there are a lot of great discounts to be had still. For this year's annual shopping holiday retailers have provided prospective spenders a heads-up through their ads. First off the starting line was Target, but others such as Best Buy and Sam's Club have now followed. This means that there's no time to waste, especially if you haven't already figured out what you want. If you're anything like us, you'll find it all a bit overwhelming. The ridiculous amount of deals whizzing about the internet right now makes it hard to focus on the best, so we've decided to pick through them and pull out the ones we think are worth consideration. Online shoppers got access to Walmart's discounts through Walmart.com on Wednesday, November 21 at 10 PM ET (7 PM PT). Since supplies can be limited, there's a chance it could be slim picking there already but it's still worth having a look, as you may find yourself a surprise bargain. Walmart has a nice selection of hardware and games on offer. For example, if you're in the market for Sony's latest system, the PS4 Slim 1TB with Spider-Man will be available for $199--it's not the more powerful PS4 Pro, but this is still a great price for current hardware. Similarly, the Xbox One S Minecraft Creators Bundle is going to be knocked down to $199. Alternatively, you can opt for the Xbox One X and save $100 on it, meaning you'll pay $399. Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, will be available for $299 with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In terms of games, Walmart has recent releases such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection, among others. Take a look through this gallery to see the best deals we've seen at Walmart. If you want more options, take a look at all of our coverage in our Black Friday deals roundup. Assassin's Creed Odyssey -- $35 (PS4/Xbox One)
The latest entry in Ubisoft's series, Assassin's Creed Odyssey follows in Assassin's Creed Origins' footsteps by leaning further into role-playing, taking inspiration from CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3. It offers a massive open world to explore, both on land and at seas, and numerous quests to undertake. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 makes some big changes to Activision's blockbuster first-person shooter series. This year, it launches without a story campaign, but instead doubles down on multiplayer with a variety of modes. In addition to the standard multiplayer suite, there's also the Zombies mode. However, perhaps the biggest surprise is Blackout, Call of Duty's take on the battle royale genre. It manages to provide an exciting new flavour to proceedings by adding perks and Call of Duty's satisfying gunplay into the mix. Well worth checking out, especially for $40. With Forza Horizon 4, developer Playground Games cements itself as the premier racing game studio of today. Bringing its brand of highly customizable racing to the shores of Great Britain, Horizon is an incredibly fun and satisfying game that can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone. If you're into racing games as a genre, it's a must-play. If you haven't played one in a while, we'd consider picking this up, as it's very approachable and immediately fun. It must be noted that, like all first-party Xbox One games, Forza Horizon 4 is also available through Xbox Game Pass. This means you get access to the game if you sign up to the service. Buy at Walmart See all Forza Horizon 4 deals Read our Forza Horizon 4 review Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection -- $35
Destiny 2: Forsaken is a huge helping of new content for fans of Bungie's online shooter. Perhaps the most exciting contribution to the broader Destiny 2 experience is a story that adopts a darker, more personal tone, making for what is arguably one of the most memorable narrative moments in the series' history. But for those looking for exciting new gameplay ideas, Bungie has Gambit, which we described as a "clever combination of seemingly disparate elements." If you fell off Destiny 2, this may be the excuse you need to jump back in. Buy at Walmart: PS4, Xbox One Read our Destiny 2 review Monster Hunter World -- $17
If you've ever met a Monster Hunter fan you'll know just how dedicated and passionate they are to Capcom's franchise. Until now, however, it's been quite difficult for the average person to jump in and see what all the fuss was about. For Monster Hunter World, the first console entry in the series for quite some time, Capcom has made a number of smart tweaks that make it welcoming for newcomers. However, it has done this without sacrificing what makes Monster Hunter a unique, compelling experience. If you're going to be converted, this is the game that'll do it. Buy at Walmart: PS4, Xbox One Read our Monster Hunter World review PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds -- $17
While Fortnite might be the talk of the town right now, PlayerUknown's Battlegrounds still presents a compelling battle royale experience, especially for those who want realistic shooting and tactical strategy above everything else. PUBG is still the tense, skill-based shooter it was when it took the world by storm last year, and if you haven't played it yet this is a fantastic price. SoulCalibur VI brings Bandai Namco's weapons-based fighting game series to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This entry is a surprisingly feature-rich package, with a lengthy single-player story that asks players to create a unique character and take it across the world to fight against enemies and complete quests. There's also a second single-player mode that focuses on the story of the main cast, and this is all held together by satisfying and easy to learn fighting mechanics. Buy at Target: PS4, Xbox One See all the SoulCalibur VI deals Read our SoulCalibur VI review Resident Evil VII Gold Edition -- $17
Resident Evil VII may have been released in January 2017, but it remains one of the best survival horror games in recent memory. Switching to the first-person perspective was a risky move for Capcom, but it managed to deliver an exceptional experience that marries the tension of older entries in the series--achieved through both cinematic presentation and constrained gunplay--with the trimmings of a modern, big budget game. It's got a great story, and some very memorable scares--perfect for the Christmas period. Buy at Walmart: PS4, Xbox One Read our Resident Evil 7 review. PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB with Spider-Man -- $199
Marvel's Spider-Man, which was developed by Insomniac Games, is easily one of the best games of the year and undoubtedly Spidey's greatest video game adaptation. If you're a fan of the character, you have to play it, and this bundle just so happens to be one of the cheapest ways to do so. Walmart is offering the game, along with a 1TB version of the PS4 Slim in one bundle for just $199, which is a nice price. See the best places to buy a PS4 Xbox One X 1TB Console -- $399
