Nintendo Switch Will Get Isometric Puzzle-Platformer Lumo Soon

By Aiden Strawhun on Jul 30, 2017 10:02 pm

Another isometric puzzle-platformer is joining the fray on Nintendo Switch. Lumo, a love letter to isometric games, is expected to hit the platform soon.

Garth Noyce, the sole developer behind Lumo, teased the game's Switch port via Twitter.

In subsequent tweets, he explained that he does not have any news on a release date yet, but expects more details soon.

Lumo, originally released in 2016, is Noyce's interpretation of retro isometric titles--a modern interpretation of the games he used to play. It's filled to the brim with all sorts of references and Easter eggs to retro isometric titles, and his programming past with Fable II, Crackdown and more.

You'll play as a bobbly little magician, navigating through 400+ rooms and challenges from elevators, boxes that fall in love with you, falling platforms, and more. There are plenty of secrets to discover, and six hidden mini-games as well.

The Simpsons Movie 2 In The "Very Earliest Stages," May Never Happen

By Eddie Makuch on Jul 30, 2017 06:30 am

Here is something to make you feel old: The Simpsons Movie opened in theaters 10 years ago today, on July 29, 2007. It was generally well-received, made a lot of money, and ended with Maggie saying during the end credits, "Sequel?"

Despite all of this, Fox has yet to give the official go-ahead for The Simpsons Movie 2, though there have certainly been discussions about it. "I'd love for there to be another one," director David Silverman told Entertainment Weekly. "We're still a ways away from it. We talk about this and that. We're thinking it over, but nothing's happening just yet.…. It's still daunting because it really knocked the stuffing out of us to do the movie and the show at the same time."

Some unspecified ideas have been discussed for the sequel, according to the report, but overall, the discussions have only been "in the the vaguest of strokes, just in the possibility of it," according to showrunner Al Jean.

"I'd say [it's in] the very earliest stages," Jean said.

According to EW, a Season 26 episode of The Simpsons featuring the family being captured by Kang and Kodos was initially planned for Season 24, but was pushed back because it was one of the ideas for a movie sequel.

Whatever the case, Jean said you can be sure Fox will only make The Simpsons Movie 2 if it's good enough. "I certainly am cautious about a couple things," Jean said. "I wouldn't want it to be risky in terms of budget, and I would not want it to be anything that we did purely for the money. I would want it to be a really great movie. I personally feel no need for another one unless it's great."

Jean previously told Variety that a sequel to The Simpsons Movie probably won't happen until The Simpsons TV show goes off the air.

"The movie was such a time-intensive operation, it pulled a lot away from the show. I would rather end the show whenever that happens before doing another movie. It's unlikely there'll be another Simpsons feature while the show is being produced."

Cara Delevigne Wants To Play James Bond, As Rumored Bond 25 Details Emerge

By Eddie Makuch on Jul 30, 2017 06:08 am

Model, singer, actress, and video game performer Cara Delevigne says she wants to play James Bond someday. Meanwhile, rumored new details about the 25th Bond film have emerged. Starting with Delevigne, speaking to the BBC's Radio 1 Breakfast Show recently, as reported by the BBC, Delevigne said, "I am trying to be James Bond, that's the point."

There have been reports about Delevigne playing a "Bond girl" in the next entry in the series, and she says she's open to that, but playing Bond is her true goal, apparently.

"Everyone's saying I'm meant to be a Bond girl but I'm like, 'no - I'm working on the James Bond aspect first.' I wouldn't mind being a Bond girl but I'm going for James."

Delevigne would be the first woman to play the Bond character in the history of the film series. Recently, the BBC cast Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor Who, which led to some people getting angry. Delevigne said some amount of blowback over the casting announcement was "to be expected."

"It's time for a female Doctor Who and it's time for a female James Bond," she said.

As for the rumored Bond 25 details, Mirror UK is reporting that this movie, which is due out in November 2019, has a working title of "Shatterhand." Based on the 1999 James Bond book Never Dream of Dying, the film will reportedly see Bond face off against a blind villain.

According to the report, Spectre actors Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista are coming back to play their villanious characters. The untitled film is reportedly inspired by You Only Live Twice and On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and other filming locations could include France and Japan. Go to Mirror UK to get more details.

According to Mirror UK and The New York Times, Daniel Craig will return to play James Bond in the 25th film.
